  • [svn:bz-trunk] 11030: Tweak the deserialization of ASObjects to treat an empty string for the type of an object as null .

    Revision: 11030
    Author:   [email protected]
    Date:     2009-10-20 11:35:02 -0700 (Tue, 20 Oct 2009)
    Log Message:
    Tweak the deserialization of ASObjects to treat an empty string for the type of an object as null. It appears that there is some logic in the LC remoting code that relies on a non-null class name to always exist. This change reverts to the old behavior of not allowing empty string as a value for the ASObject.namedType.
    This should fix bug 2448442 and its duplicates caused by the recent serialization changes.
    I don't think this is the perfect fix. Pending further investigation, a better fix would be either:
    a. If it's OK to assume that empty string should always mean null for the type of the ASObject, the code that enforces it should be in the setter/getter inside ASObject and not in the deserializer.
    b. ASObject doesn't guarantee that a named type exists or is valid. In that sense an empty string is as bad as some random characters that cannot be a valid class name in java, so depending on how disruptive it may be, the fix should be in any logic that uses ASObject.getType().

    Hi Pavan,
    "In your payload there is no namespace prefix for the elements under PayloadHeader element."
    Yes, you are right - but this message is standard AQ Adapter Header message - it's not defined by me. I just used message which was automatically added to my project when I have defined AQ Adapter.
    "In your process is the default namespace is same as namespace value of tns ??"
    Do you mean targetNamespace? If yes it's different as it points to process "targetNamespace="http://xmlns.oracle.com/PF_SOA_jws/PF_APPS/APPS_PROCESS" (names of application and process have changed as I try different ways to do that)
    ns1 is: xmlns:ns1="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/aq/PF_SOA/PF_APPS/PO_AQ"
    "another thing is tns and ns1 should have same values.."
    When I create a variable of header type, namespace ns1 is automatically created for it. I set it as property of receive activity. When process is instantiated on the serwer I get the error in which you can see that namespace is tns.
    Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I don't see how I could fix this in my process.
    You can see that the message I get on the server has nothing in common with the application/project/process names. Is it possible to define such variable?
    Regards
    Pawel
    PS:
    In Transformation xsl file, both variables (source and target) has tns namespace for Header and PayloadHeader, and no namespace for subfields.

  • Differences between the types of DSO's and DTP's

    Hi Friends,

    Hi,
    Please check :
    1. pls help me in telling different types of DSO's and their differences?
    There are three types of DSO in BI 7.0........
    Standard DSO
    It consists of three tables.......activation queue,active table,and change log table.....It is completly integrated in the staging process.....Using change log table means that all changes are also written and are available as delta uploads for connected data targets.......
    Write optimized DSO
    It is integrated for warehouse level of architecture..........and has the advantage of quicker loads.has only active data table .(with delta capture capability) ...... SIDs are not generated
    Check this :
    http://www.biportal.org/Default.aspx?pageId=90410&mode=PostView&bmi=17541
    Direct update DSO
    It consists of active data table only. This means it is not easily integrated in the staging process...SIDs are not generated ......This DSO type is filled using API and can be read via BAPI......It is generally use for external application and APD...

  • How to find out the type of the object ?

    how would i find out the type of an object reference variable ?
    it would be nice if there was some sort of getType() method that would return a string to tell me the type of the object -- just for testing purposes

    try
    Object.getClass().getName();
    or just
    Object.getClass().toString();
    so something like this in your code:
    Object obj = new Foo();
    System.out.println(""+obj.getClass());
    etc.

  • Type Messages and Objects turned from white to black in PDF

    When I exported my Keynote presentation to a PDF the Type Messages and Objects turned from white to black. The display in ”Preview” is ok but in Acrobat PDF Viewer it looks black instead of white. Only happens on some slides. I could not find a reason why this happened. Seemed kind of random to me when it happened. But the error was reproducable unless I rebuild it with new silides.

    Can you get the exact wording for that error? Is it can't mount iPod?
    Also, make sure iTunes is up to date...

  • How to differentiate the EMPTY Records and Null Values in DSO

    Hello....how is everyone here?? Ehehehe!
    I try to load some data from the flat file which contains some EMPTY data and Null Values for the records. The data type for the InfoObjects of the fields "Quantity" is "number". The sample data from the flat file (CSV) are as below:
    Food              Quantity
    Hamburger  -       12
    Cheese        -       0
    Vegetable      -               (Empty)
    When I try to load the above sample data to the DSO, I get the results of the data as follow:
    Food              Quantity
    Hamburger     - 12.000
    Cheese           -  0.000
    Vegetable         - 0.000
    In this case, how can the user differentiate whether the records is contain empty value of null values in DSO? This is kinda of hard to differentiate the both scenarios above. Is there any way to differentiate the scenarios described here?
    Thanks alot =)

    Hi Fluffy,
    It depends on the initial values of the data type
    The inital values For quantity/Currency/ Numbers it takes spaces as 0
    for char it is SPACE
    We cannot differeniate between space and null values.
    IF you have to force this then define quantity as char and load the data. we will not have units and aggregation in this case.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to get the type of the object poped from a stack

    Hi,
    I have a stack which contains Boolean, Integer, MyBean objects.
    Now depending on the type of object pop from stack i want to perform the different operations. Right now i m doing it like this:
    Object a = stk.pop(); // stk is my stack
    if ( a instanceof Object)
    else if( a instanceof Boolean)
    else
    .}but it is not working...........
    when i do like this
    if(stk.pop() instanceof Boolean)
    else
    }it works but by this i lost the poped element............ what is the standard way to do such operations.
    manish

    Are you sure there isn't a cleaner way of doing what you are trying to achieve? You may want to take the opportunity to slightly re-think your design.
    However, if you want to proceed down this route, just hold on to the object you popped, and then do the explicit case analysis on that:
    Object obj = stack.pop();
    if (obj instance of Boolean) {
    } else if (obj instance of Integer) {
    }Oh yeah, do not have the "instanceof Object" as your first check!
    This will return true for any non-null reference (have a look at some java tutorials if you dont know why this is).

  • How to distinguish the type of object that came in the JMS message.

    I have a queue that has 4 different object's being sent through messages across the queue. Depending on the object that comes in I need to determine what process to start. I have created a master project with a single queue listener that will start the master process. Either before the listener starts the master process or after the master process starts in a method I need to figure out the type of object that was contained in that method. In Java its simply if(msg InstanceOf ObjectB), else if (msg InstanceOf ObjectC)....and so forth. What is the way this would be done in ALBPM6.0's fuego code or whatever it is called?

    In case you had an ID, which is assigned automagically on emp, this could also be written like this:
    create trigger emp_trig
    after insert or update or delete on emp
    for each row
    begin
    insert into emp_log values(
    :new.empno, :new.ename,
    decode(nvl(:old.id,-1),-1,'Insert',decode(nvl(:new.id,-1),-1,'Delete','Update')), sysdate);
    end;
    ..where -1 is a value you do not expect to be propagated ever in id column. Also, :new.empno and :new.enmae will be null if the dml being executed is a delete statement.

  • How to find the type of objects contained in a Stored Package?

    Hello,
    I need to populate all the procedures and functions contained in a package. I have rewritten a query like this
    "SELECT PROCEDURE_NAME FROM ALL_PROCEDURES WHERE OBJECT_NAME = 'MYPACKAGENAME'
    Above Query returns a record, having NULL PROCEDURE_NAME value. Why?
    I also want the 'type' of object (stored procedure/function ) contained in the a package.
    How to fetch it?
    Following query always returns object type 'PACKAGE', which is of no use for me. I want to know if it is stored procedure or function.
    SELECT PROCEDURE_NAME, *OBJECT_TYPE* FROM ALL_PROCEDURES WHERE OBJECT_NAME = 'MYPACKAGENAME'

  • The method clone() from the type Object is not visible

    Hi,
    This is my 1st post here for a few years, i have just returned to java.
    I am working through a java gaming book, and the "The method clone() from the type Object is not visible" appears, preventing the program from running. I understand "clone" as making a new copy of an object, allowing multiple different copies to be made.
    The error occurs here
    public Object clone() {
            // use reflection to create the correct subclass
            Constructor constructor = getClass().getConstructors()[0];
            try {

    A quote from Josh Bloch's "Effective Java" (Item 10):
    "A class that implements Cloneable is expected to provide a properly functioning public clone() method. It is not, in general, possible to do so unless +all+ of the class's superclasses provide a well-behaved clone implementation, whether public or protected."
    One way to check that would be to see if super.clone() works. Their method uses reflection to try and construct a valid Creature, but it relies on Animation's clone() method, which itself may be faulty. Bloch suggests the following pattern:public Object clone() throws CloneNotSupportedException {
       ThisClass copy = (ThisClass) super.clone();
       // do any additional initialization required...
       return copy
    if that doesn't work, you +may+ be out of luck.
    Another thing to note is that Object's clone() method returns a +shallow+ copy of the original object. If it contains any data structures (eg, Collections or arrays) that point to other objects, you may find that your cloned object is now sharing those with the original.
    Good luck.

    The supported JBoss version for 10.1.2 is JBoss EAP 5.1.2 but I don't think that your issue is caused because of this. Your issue is more of an environmental thing as you are probably getting two different versions getting loaded of class javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest and so correspondingly two different Class objects as the error shows. One reason for this could be if you include any server-specific libraries (in present case the Servlet API JAR which contains the class javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest) of a different version in the /WEB-INF/lib of your web application. Try removing it from there if so and see if that helps.

  • Three types of DSO in BI 7.0

    Hi,
    I went through the sap help documents related to the three types of DSO.
    1. Standard
    2. Direct Update
    3. Write Optimized
    Still not clearly understood in which case we use what kind of DSO's.  Could any one explain me that in your own words.
    I am new to BI, your explanation is appreciated.
    What is this ADP process that is used using the Direct Update DSO.........Any docuements or links or info on it?
    Thanks,

    DataStore Objects for Direct Update
    DataStore objects for direct update ensure that the data is available quickly. The data from this kind of DataStore object is accessed transactionally. The data is written to the DataStore object (possibly by several users at the same time) and reread as soon as possible.
    It is not a replacement for the standard DataStore object. It is an additional function that can be used in special application contexts.
    <b>APD -</b>
    In the BI system, you can use a DataStore object for direct update as a data target for an analysis process
    In the BI system data is collected from the heterogeneous databases in the various systems that the enterprise is using and is consolidated, managed, and staged for evaluation purposes. There is often further, valuable potential in this data.
    This is completely new information that is displayed in the form of meaningful correlations between data but that is too well hidden or complex to be discovered by simple observation or intuition.
    The Analysis Process Designer (APD) allows you to find and identify these hidden or complex relationships between data in a simple way. Various data transformations are provided for this purpose, such as statistical and mathematical calculations, data cleansing and structuring processes.
    The results of the analysis are saved in BI InfoProviders or in CRM systems. They are available for all decision and application processes and thus can be decisive (strategically, tactically, and operatively).
    Examples of analysis processes include the calculation of ABC classes, determination of frequency distribution or of scoring information.

    <b>Standard DataStore Object</b> The standard DataStore object is filled with data during the extraction and load process in the BI system.
    It has 3 tables - New , Active , Change log table
    <b>Write-Optimized DataStore Objects</b>
    Data that is loaded into write-optimized DataStore objects is available immediately for further processing.
    You use write-optimized DataStore objects in the following scenarios:
    &#9679;     You use a write-optimized DataStore object as a temporary storage area for large sets of data if you are executing complex transformations for this data before it is written to the DataStore object. Subsequently, the data can be updated to further (smaller) InfoProviders. You only have to create the complex transformations once for all data.
    &#9679;     You use write-optimized DataStore objects as the EDW layer for saving data. Business rules are only applied when the data is updated to additional InfoProviders.
    The system does not generate SIDs for write-optimized DataStore objects and you do not need to activate them. This means that you can save and further process data quickly. Reporting is possible on the basis of these DataStore objects. However, we recommend that you use them as a consolidation layer, and update the data to additional InfoProviders, standard DataStore objects, or InfoCubes.
