Difficulties with HTML text display

Hi all,
hope I'm in the right forum. I'm trying to create a form that
has checkboxes on
a Nokia 6680 device.The form is written in HTML format and is
supposed to be scrollable so I have enabled the
scrollable feature of my text area(which has "story" as
instance name) and chosen the "Render as HTML" option in the
properties section.Here's the code I placed in the
actionscript:
function continuousScrollUp2() {
this.onEnterFrame = function() {
if (story.scroll > 0) {
story.scroll--;
// Scroll continuously down at frame rate of movie
function continuousScrollDown2() {
this.onEnterFrame = function() {
if (story.scroll < story.maxscroll) {
story.scroll++;
story.htmlText ="<font color=\"#0000FF\"><b>The

However,during runtime,only the first part is displayed and
I don't see any checkboxes. Can it be that the device memory
is exhausted? Thanks for your time.

hi,
Flash text box does not support <input> htmnl tags, and
FL too.
FL textfield supports b, br, i, b, font & p tags but with
specific attributes only. check the docs for more.

  • Try to mix plain text with HTML text in mail forms

    Hi,
    I'm working with CRM 2005, and I want to build a mail form with Multi-Mime text type, but with a "html text" block and a "plain text" block in first page. I can do it but when I access to my mail form via PCUI a error occurs telling me that the mail form is defined improperly.
    Thanks a lot,
    Nuno Moreira

    Hi Nuno,
    if the mail is sent correctly and it is only a display problem in PC-UI I would suggest that you open a OSS message to ask SAP to solve this problem.

  • Gallery with HTML text under image

    I'm working on a gallery of images with thumbnails on the left and larger photos on the right. My problem is the larger photos on the right need some text under them. I've been adding the text to the photos in photoshop and doing this as a standard swap image/swap image restore. What I was wondering, is there a way to add this text as HTML. When I do the swap image I would need to swap out the HTML text also. I've done this as a layered div in the past, but it gets cumbersome when you have 30 thumbnails. Hopefully someone has a good solution for this. I'm thinking about giving up on Dreamweaver and doing this sort of thing in Flash.

  • Image not displaying with HTML text field

    I am trying to display am image within
    flash using CS3.
    I have a text field with the following code.
    feedback.htmlText = "<img src='Logo_small.png'</img>"
    nothing displays. The image and flash document are at the same level, so that is why I am using a relative link. Do I need to use a full (absolute) link to the image?

    That's not properly coded html...
    feedback.htmlText = "<img src='Logo_small.png' />";
    image tags do not have a closing tag and you didn't close the opening tag if they did, so it would still fail.

  • JToolTip with html text

    I am trying to set ToolTip on my JPanel and the text is HTML format. One of the reasons I am using html format because it needs to be multiline and also localizable and it is easy to set fonts in html.
    But the problem is I am getting a inconsistent tooltip with raw html data sometimes and ok rest of the times. Following is the html string I am setting as tooltip text.
    String html = "<HTML><BODY STYLE=\"" +
    "margin-left:3px; margin-right:3px; margin-bottom:3px;" +
    "font-family : " + font.getFamily() + ";" +
    "font-size : " + font.getSize2D() + "pt;" +
    "font-weight : " + (font.isBold() ? "bold" : "normal") + ";" +
    "font-style : " + (font.isItalic() ? "italic" : "normal") + "\">" +
    "<b>File Name: </b> + fileName1 +
    "<br>
    "<b>File Name: </b> + fileName2 +
    "</BODY></HTML>";
    "font" is my locale based font.
    Thanks
    Amad

    Well I have tried simple html as well but the same problem. I think JToolTip can display inline styles but my problem seems to be that when i have panels in panel and setting tooltip on parent that's when it gets wrong.

  • JButton rendered with HTML text takes longer to load

    I have a JButton that displays text rendered in HTML.
    ie. JButton but1 = new JButton("<html><STYLE=\"font-family: Dialog; font-size: 12pt\"><center>Current<br>Date</center></STYLE></html>");
    The reason for the STYLE tag is so that the font matches the rest of the application (instead of defaulting to Times New Roman).
    As a result of including the HTML tags, the dialog containing the panel with my buttons takes noticeably longer to load (especially when it's my login dialog).
    Does anyone know why this takes longer to render or if there is some way around it?
    Interesting to note: One unexpected outcome of using the HTML tags is that it sets all my buttons to the same width (they are in a BoxLayout.Y_AXIS layout), whereas before, they refused to have their size set at all and were all different.

    Okay, well I worked out a way around my problem - don't use HTML.
    The only reason I was using HTML was to allow me to have multi-line buttons. Using HTML also had the added problem of the text not showing the enabled-state of the button (ie. the text did not appear disabled) or the Mnemonic.
    I have created a subclass of JButton that creates multiple lines using JPanels instead of HTML.

  • Difficulties with CLASS

    I am new to JAVA and I am trying to open a CLASS file up with the studio, but its not able to read it. I am not familiar with Java all that well. Dreamweaver reads the PHP file better than the studio 11.
    Any takers for why this is??
    Lost and well get more lost

    Opps, I didn't use the proper tags on my last post. Forgive me.

  • Automatically Inserting Caret After Text Displays

    i'm attempting to simply set the caret position at the start of the text flow when it is first displayed, without having to click and activate the text to see the blinking caret.
    googling returns that the solution is to do this:
    textFlow.interactionManager = new EditManager(new UndoManager());
    textFlow.interactionManager.setSelection(0, 0);
    however, setSelection() is not a valid function of the selection or edit managers.
    1061: Call to a possibly undefined method setSelection through a reference with static type flashx.textLayout.edit:ISelectionManager.
    why must simple things like this be so difficult with the text layout framework?  i'm using the Flex SDK 4.1.

    i finally figured it out, no thanks to the documentation
    textFlow.interactionManager.selectRange(0, 0);
    textFlow.interactionManager.setFocus();
    that will automatically display a blinking caret before the text after after it is displayed.

  • Display issue with HTML formatted text in report builder

    I am using the FCKeditor in my application to allow endusers
    the ability to create formated text on reports. We curently are
    experiencing 2 issues: 1. If you copy and paste from MS Word
    2003/2007 it will not display the text correclty in the report; 2.
    If you use the FCKeditor toolbar to insert bullets or a numeric

    using Coldfusion 8 with Hotfix 1 and Coldfusion Report Builder's

    Has one experiences this same issue with HTML fields not

  • HTML tags displayed with the text in "Notification" area

    We want to display an HTML formatted message in the "notification" area, but the HTML tags are being escaped and thus are displayed along with the text. We are using Application Express 2.2.1.00.04. The application has been handed off to us to support and we have no experience with APEX. So I hope I am explaining this correctly.
    The process to display the message is as follows:
    After submission, a page validation fires, which is of type "function returns boolean": "return some_function('P100_MESSAGE',2nd_arg);".
    In "Error Message" is "&P100_MESSAGE."
    The function returns true when the validation is successful. When validation fails, it returns false, setting 'P100_MESSAGE' to some error message - for example: "&lt;li&gt;Phone number is not numeric&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Email address is not valid&lt;/li&gt;".
    Our template has this in the body definition:
    #NOTIFICATION_MESSAGE##SUCCESS_MESSAGE##BOX_BODY#
    As I understand it, #NOTIFICATION_MESSAGE# will be replaced with the value of 'P100_MESSAGE'.
    I've displayed 'P100_MESSAGE' on my page to confirm its contents and it is rendered correctly with bullets. But the notification area does not show bullets. It displays the text and the HTML tags.
    Is there anything obvious we can do to fix this problem? Thanks

    I 've changed P100_MESSAGE to text field, text field (disabled, saves state), text field (disabled, does not save state), and textarea, display as text, etc. It is originally set to Hidden type (because it is only to be displayed in the notification area). But changing it to various types makes no difference as to how it is displayed in the notification area. Of course, when it's not hidden, then it's also displayed on the page, among to other page elements,which is not acceptable.
    Thanks-
    -j

    Hi Ashish,
    If I have understood your requirement properly, u want to
    display html text on a flex application.
    I think there its better if you use the html component to
    display the text. I have a sample code which will give you a
    direction to think on.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Application

  • How can i display HTML text in a TextArea

    Hello All,
    We are developing a chat application using Java Swing and RMI with MySQL as backend.
    We have two options.The users can chat thro both browser and application(Swing GUI).
    Now when a user who chats thro a browser sends a message,the chat contents are stored in HTML format in the database (like <BR><font>R u There?</Font></BR>).When the other user happens to chat thro the application,the chat contents send by the other user has to appear in the HTML format in the TextArea of the application.So obviously the textarea shud understand the HTML and display it accordingly.
    How can i do this?Kindly give me an example with some code samples if i have to use EditorPane etc 'coz i haven't got any experience using EditorPanes.

  • Firefox will not display my HTML file as its contents - only displays the HTML text (firefox 5.0).

    I can download a file as a Firefox file (zipped) and it displays successfully. Then I can save the file as a text file and see the HTML text.
    When I work on the HTML text file and then try to display the modified file in Firefox 5.0 and Windows XP, Firefox will only show the HTML text, not the display of the contents of the file.

    Make sure that the file has a .html file extension if you want Firefox to render the content.

  • Displaying rendered HTML text in spry detail region

    Hi,
    I have just started to play around with DW CS3 & spry and
    love them!
    I have a Master/Detail spry going from my database, but am
    having a problem displaying the detail the way I need it. The mySQL
    field is a BLOB for some HTML formatted text (I get the text
    elsewhere using a Xinha textarea edit widget and load the the
    formatted HTML text into my db). For example, my string is
    "<h2>this test</h2><strong>xyz</strong>"
    which is loaded into my db. I am using the dreamweaver ADDT export
    XML functionality to generate my spry master/detail region.
    My detail region is displaying the correct html associated
    with the selected master table entry, but it's with the HTML tags,
    not rendered as HTML (I don't want to see
    <h2>title</h2>; I'd like to see title with <H2>
    formatting).
    It's much like what I think a RSS feed would be, but can't
    find a way just to get the html to render because I don't have the
    files externally to source an iframe or anything. (I tried a XLS
    fragment transformation, just putting the detail record field that
    I want in an XLS file, but that didn't do anything).
    Any kind of guidance, hint, point and laugh but then tell me,
    would be greatly appreciated. I also posted at first at ADDT and
    then General Dreamweaver because I didn't locate this forum in the
    Forum topic list, so when I did find this I thought this is
    obviously where I should have first posted - sorry if anyone has
    also been surfing around. Thanks so much so any info.

    Hi Don,
    Thanks so much for responding. I actually did do that, but it
    seems like I might be doing it in the wrong place. I tried it in
    the .js that I have in my header:
    var dsList = new Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("./export.php",
    "theSpecials/special",{sortOnLoad:"rating",sortOrderOnLoad:"ascending",distinctOnLoad:tru e});
    dsList.setColumnType("detail", "html");
    which didn't do it. I also tried it right in my detail
    display area:
    <div style="overflow:hidden; width: 400px;"

    Excuse the inline ugliness, will clean it up when it's
    functional. But that doesn't seem to do it either. I am storing
    that particular field as a blob in the mysql database, but I
    already tried making that a VARCHAR which had no effect either.
    Thanks so much for for the suggestion! Any other gems that I
    can try?

  • Dynamic text box, HTML Text with Image

    Hello Everyone,
    I am using Flash version 8. I have used the text tool and
    created a dynamic text box and have attached the UIScrollBar
    component to it. This text box is configured to allow the use of
    html text to be inputted to it. I have code that reads a file which
    contains a list of text files that I then read and place them into
    the text box. The user can use the scroll bar to scroll through all
    the text.
    I have created an image that is a picture of the tab portion
    of a file folder. On the tab I have place some text. This was all
    done in Photoshop. This tab image is used to separate the different
    stories in the text box. The image is save as a jpeg file
    Everything you have just read works with out any problems.
    Now for the problem!
    This image is only 20 pixels tall and the text is not very
    readable. As we all know the HTML tags are very limited in Flash 8.
    Ideally I would like to put the text and image in to the text
    box as I would normally do. Then place text on top of the image and
    have it all scroll properly with in the text box.
    I have taken the tab image and converted it in to a graph
    symbol and then put the text on top of the image. This looks good;
    however I don’t know how (or if it is even possible) to place
    the graphic symbol in to the text box at the correct place within
    the text.
    Does anyone have ideas on what may work? Remember that the
    image I am working with is only 20 pixels tall which is why the
    text quality on the image is so poor.
    Thank you all for any help you may provide,
    Steve

    Yes Tim I am using the <img> tag and I know that I
    can’t place text over the image. I have set the height and
    width to be the exact size of the image. However When you go to the
    webpage it will open the movie to the maximum size based on the
    resolution of your display; however I do maintain the aspect ratio
    of the movie. For testing I did set a fix size to the size of the
    movie. Sometimes the fix size (1000x750) looks better and sometimes
    a larger size (example 1280x1024). I believe that the main problem
    is the fact the size of the image is 670 pixels wide by 25 pixels
    high and of the 25 pixels the text is only 18 pixels tall. In
    Photoshop this makes it about a 1.75 point font. As you can see the
    real problem is that I don’t have enough pixels to make up
    the text. This is why I am looking for an alterative way to create
    the text.
    I tried importing the image into flash as a graphic symbol
    and then using the text tool to create the text. The results looked
    real sharp, the text was nice and crisp (just what I wanted). The
    problem is that I could not find a way to place the graphic symbol
    into the dynamic text area like id did using the <img> tag.
    This symbol needs to scroll as you scroll the text in the text
    area.
    This is why I am asking for help. I am looking for some ideas
    that may work.
    Thank you,
    Steve
