  • Can i create a singol folio application for android with digital publishing professional edition?

hI, (sorry but i speak english a little bit).
I would like to create my application with professional edition because i wont see it on android device too but i need just a singol folio app.
i don't want a multifolio viewer, i need just a singol updatable app that start directly from the icon withouth no other number.
    How can i do?
I see also that a lot of function are limited for android, are there some news?
    Thanks a lot

    You can't.
Even if the subscription app only has one folio in it, you have to
create it that way for Android. This requires a pro or enterprise
account and you'll have to pay for the downloads.

  • Creative Cloud vs Digital Publishing Suite

Hello. I started with a Creative Cloud Membership and have now added the Digital Publishing, Professional Edition. Can I cancel my Creative Cloud Membership now? Or do I have to have both?

Thanks I already did that for 29 bucks for first 12 months.
However I am having real trouble downloading apps from creative cloud especially Lightroom and acro XI.  Lightroom says it cant find msvcr.dll and acro XI just does not load, period.  I have placing mscvr.dll in every file including system32, WOW, and the app itself but still nothing.  It probably needs somthing to be twseaked in the win registry but I am not that technical.

  • How do I get pricing answers regarding Digital Publishing Suite, Professional & Enterprise Editions?

I am really struggling to get any answers or communication regarding the Digital Publishing Suite, Professional & Enterprise Editions. I've tried the the Request a Consultation option but keep receiving a email directing to produce purchasing. The Chat Service and Phone Support both advised that they are Junior Technical Support and cannot assist with this enquiry.
HELP?!!!! I would really appreciate an email address to contact the right department.

You have to go through an Adobe Reseller, all of whom are listed here: http://wwwimages.adobe.com/www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/products/digital-publishing- suite-family/pdfs/dps-channel-reseller-partners-03272012.pdf
    I particularly like Modula4.

I did find the answer to my own question... The Video Is OUTDATED and should be removed to avoid future confusion.
The new feature is "Scrollable Frame", located on the bottom of the Folio Overlay panel which allows for an effective slide out tray.
Colin's more recent video covers this.

  • Does Adobe Enterprise Developer Program (AEDP) support Digital Publishing?

The company I work has a series of clients that use the Digital Publishing suite, and more often than ever they are demaning help on customization and enhancing their solutions. I was wondering if the "Adobe Enterprise Developer Program" covers Digital Publishing as well, as this isn't very clear for me from the program's page (I tried contacting them by email, but it has been almost a week and I didn't get an answer yet).
    Thanks,

ADEP is essentially what would have been LiveCycle ES 3. Considering we
have 70+ forums for the current and previous versions of LiveCycle and
there are new components due to the integration of Day Software it isn't
    really all that much.
I just hope that dismantling the old LiveCycle forums is going to be
done a bit more aggressively because there are quite a few LC forums
that are already attracting more spam than posters.

  • Using Adobe Digital Publishing Suite, Professional Edition

    Hello to everyone,
I'm intrested of using the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite in my work and i have a few questions.
First of all, I want to make some newsstand application for apple and then for android. I got about 5-6 different magazines that each one maybe can publish 5-12 issues annualy.
In which license can i use the software for as many as magazines i want (that means e.g. 10 apps, each one for each magazine)?
What is the cost for that?
    I appreciate your time,
    Thanks in advance,
    Nick

  • SAP R/3 4.6B to SAP Enterprise UPGRADE landscape methodology

My primary question involves the upgrade landscape and its relationship with SAP's  E-Buyer system.
We're upgrading R/3 in Q2 of 05. In all past upgrades I've done, I've used parallel landscapes; the existing DEV -> QAS -> PRD landscapes stays the same (for Production support throughout the upgrade process). However, since my last upgrade, we've implemented SAP's E Buyer application.
I do not think it's possible to maintain Dual E Buyer landscapes. This because of the configuration that's in our R/3 PRD environment that's dependent upon our EBP Prod system. It's all based on 1 logical system. Also, our E Buyer system was implemented in the CLASSIC  scenario. Thus P.O.s are cut in R/3. This means that a symbiotic relationship exists between R/3 and E Buyer. Thus, critical E Buyer config is dependent on R/3 4.6b; it can't just be pointed at "the new R/3" AFTER the upgrade.
I believe the only way to upgrade now is to FREEZE E - Buyer and R/3 development in the "old" 4.6B landscape. In fact, I believe we have to come to the point in E Buyer and R/3 environments where the development landscape is "synched" i.e. all E Buyer Prod transports are in EBP PROD. This point has to be just prior to upgrading R/3. At that point, nothing short of a Prod break fix happens in the "old" landscape.
At that point in time, we simultaneously copy back Production R/3 to DV2 (where the R/3 Enterprise upgrade will occur) and E Buyer Prod to the EBD system. i.e. all post upgrade E Buyer-required work is done in EBD with the same (original) logical system.
It's important I understand this because my apps people are telling the business they can have multiple projects occurring in the "old" R/3 system landscape as well as E Buyer Development occurring concurrently to an R/3 Enterprise upgrade.
    I don't see how that's possible.
To me, all new projects should occur in the UPGRADED landscape and be delivered at Prod cut over. Is there something I'm missing? I need to keep the business happy but being a Basis guy, I just don't see how they can have their cake and eat it to.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi there!
I've done the same task in the very same type of Upgrade, I hope I can help you. SapScripts are not much affected by Unicode. You should check that the code (programs and functions) do not have any Unicode inconsistencies, by theese I mean not mixing type C with type X, not making assignments between variables of different structure and a lot of unimportant issues you will find, but I assure you they are very easy to fix. Just activate the unicode check and then check the syntax of the object.

  • Upgrading to Enterprise From Non_Enterprise

    I'm running a 8.1.5 non-Enterpise installation. I need
    partitioning. Two questions:
    1) Is it true that partitioning is available only with
    Enterprise?
    2) How do I upgrade to Enterprise from Standard? Do I
have to create a new ORACLE_HOME, etc?
    Thanks,
    Tony

If you are using the Standard Edition of the Oracle Database and want to upgrade to the Enterprise Edition, then complete the following steps:
    1. Ensure that the release number of your Standard Edition server software is the same release as the Enterprise Edition server software. For example, if your Standard Edition server software is release 9.2.0.1.0, then you should upgrade to release 9.2.0.1.0 of the Enterprise Edition.
    2. Shut down your database.
    3. If your operating system is Windows, then stop all Oracle services, including the OracleServiceSID Oracle service, where SID is the instance name.
    4. Deinstall the Standard Edition server software.
5.Install the Enterprise Edition server software using the Oracle Universal Installer. Select the same Oracle home that was used for the de-installed Standard Edition. During the installation, be sure to select the Enterprise Edition. When prompted, choose Software Only from the Database Configuration screen.
6.Start up your database. Your database is now upgraded to the Enterprise Edition.
    10g version if you prefer:

  • In-place upgrade of Enterprise Manager for RAC databases is not supported

upgrading 2 node RAC from 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.3 on Windows 2003 64 bit. I got the following:
In-place upgrade of Enterprise Manager for RAC databases is not supported in this release
Now I cannot log in to the database control as sys with sysdba role . I get "invalid username/password" error
I can login as a dba user
I also get a java error after I log in, some thing about class not found, but then I'm in and I can do everything that I try, although I haven't tried scheduling a backup yet
Can I upgrade EM to 10.2.0.3?
    If so, how?

    On the patchset readme...
11.3 Upgrade of Oracle Enterprise Manager Not Supported
When you start Oracle Database Upgrade Assistant to upgrade 10.2.0.1 database to 10.2.0.3 patch set, the following error occurs:
Inplace upgrade of Enterprise Manager is not supported for RAC databases is not supported in this release
    Workaround:
    Ignore warning.
If you drop and recreate the EM repository?
1). emca -deconfig dbcontrol db repos drop
2). emca -config dbcontrol db -repos create
Be careful, doing this put the database on QUIESCE mode.

  • Digital Publishing Suite - Professional, is the price correct even though CC member?

We already have an Adobe Creative Cloud account.
We have Digital Publishing Suite - Single Edition already but have now realised it is only possible to create ipad apps on there and not iphone apps.
As a company and as we already pay for an annual Creative Cloud membership, we want to know if the price of £400 odd per month would be correct if we were to look into purchasing the Professional Edition, as this pricing seems excessive considering.
    Thanks

Hi I saw your question and reply and what frustrates me is that none of the replies outline the actual cost of producing something via the dps. I will give you and example.
I have a client that has been using Acrobat since 1992 to disribute documents. The same client has always been an Adobe advocate and now they wish to move from pdf files to an "App" I use the word app in quotes because it is essentially a magazine. They do not sell through the mag so no opportunity for in app purchases, they do not sell the mag as it is an information tol, they do however have video content that they wish to share. They have exciting articles that can be interspersed with slide shows etc...
However, imagine their surprise when like yourself, having paid for the design kit that to produce a magazine like this would cost the client a licence fee of $20,000 for upto 50,000 downloads if they are the publisher – and a whopping saving to me if I publish at a reduced cost of $10,000. Then there are my costs as a creative on top which some of my clients already find hard to swallow.
Now I might be wrong but taking the attitude that "Is that the right format for the client" is pretty crappy given that everyone from the age of 5 years old up knows how to and are using ipads and android devices.
    Where is the middle ground?
pdf to send costs pittence but time.
html emailer a few cents per opened email
    Adobe DPS "$kerching"
The sales chap then told me that if the client wanted a Mercedes but was unwilling to pay – tough really.
Now I have used Adobe software through Aldus Pagemaker in 1989 all the way through to the first version of InDesign. I encouraged the uptake of InDesign at several studios as a creative director ousting Quark because of their unreasonable prices. Now Adobe are doing just what Quark did. Why?
Given that we have all been led a merry dance and have been told that rich content and electronic formats are key to modern businesses I feel that Adobe have just given me a huge middle finger. Its like the rise of the internet all over. The promise of WYSIWYG which never materialised making it very hard for small businesses to ever get online unless it looked like something produced by a Microsoft Office techy.
And what about my charity clients? They would love to have their documents published onto the ipad "other tablets available" so are we just to ignore their cries for halp as they lanquish behind because the costs just dont add up?
Oh and once you have paid for the licence that only is for one client. So if you have 30 or so clients they would all have to foot the extra cost which by the way is an annual cost!!
Ok I am going on a bit now but you get the picture.
What the hell is going on? I am just dissapointed.

  • New restrictions imposed to users of the Digital Publishing Suite (professional edition)

We are a communication agency and we have just be informed by Adobe about the new "rules" imposed to users of the Digital Publishing Suite (professional edition). We are outraged by these practices: Adobe abuses of its leadership position on the market and hold us hostage.
We currently produce institutional magazines for one of our big clients. These magazines are produced in several languages and contain several thematic folios: therefore we manage several individual apps (multi and simple folios). We are planning to add more content and to develop new apps.
The new restrictions imposed to us by Adobe call into question our digital activity. If we follow the new rules, we now will have to buy 6 or more licenses instead of only 1 before. Given the fact that our corporate publications are not sold like commercial magazines, the rise in production cost is unacceptable. We can't forward the significantly higher fees to our client either who will quit the project for sure.
We have chosen the Adobe platform after a careful analysis of its functionalities and its production costs. We trusted Adobe and the DPS platform but the new rules invalidate our choices and overthrow the projects already developed with our client (needing continuous updates), the investments we have made so far in training and development and finally the profitability of the agency itself.
We therefore ask Adobe to come back on its decision and to apply responsible commercial practices with regard to agencies. We also ask Adobe to make sure that agencies that built their digital activities around Adobe tools can plan these activities correctly in the long run and obtain decent returns on their investments. We thus invite Adobe to reestablish the trust it is currently destroying.
