DIR_TRANS directory \....sap     rans does not exist

Hi,
In DEV, while changing the parameter login/password_max_idle_initial, I got the following message:
***DIR_TRANS
IP address \sapmnt\trans***
***W:DIR_TRANS directory
IP address \sapmnt\trans does not exist***
We have 3 system landscape DEV->QA->PRD.
Recently transport domain control has been moved from QA->PRD.
In DEV, DIR_TRANS =
172.20.0.148\sap\trans
172.20.0.148 is QA IP address.
172.20.0.141 is PRD IP address
172.20.0.137 is DEV IP address
while changing DIR_TRANS =
172.20.0.141\sap\trans
The pop up message is coming as DIR_TRANS directory
172.20.0.141\sap\trans does not exist.
The transport tool says everything fine.

Hi Satya,
To change the domain controller you have do these steps:
Prerequisites
Because the domain controller can only be moved as long as it is functioning, you must always configure a backup domain controller.
Procedure
To move the domain controller to another SAP System:
    Configure the SAP System you want to use as the new domain controller as the backup domain controller.
    Activate the previous domain controller as the backup domain controller.
Result
The previous domain controller becomes the backup domain controller. The SAP System that you configured as the backup domain controller becomes the new domain controller.
Once you have done this.Then change the DIR_TRANS as
<host>\sapmnt\trans.As Sunny has mentioned already, check the host file entries and share/access permission on this folder for user SAPService<SID>,<SID>ADM.
And then distribute the configuration to all participating systems.
Regards,
Ashutosh

    Hi Ashok,
                   for your requirement the application is not exist in particular place. It means, the webdynpro application is saved at different package or different location.
                  Please change the webdynpro component name and save it in particular request in package, then transport it to quality ..(development server )
    then go to SICF  t.code .. sap->bc->webdynpro->sap->find  out your application and activate the service of your webdynpro application.
    Now test it ... this solution might helpful to you .

  • SAP* user does not exist

    Hi All,
         In one of my clients, SAP* does not exist but DDIC exists.
    Please tell me what can I do?
    Copy user from 000 to the client I'm working on?
    Bye

    You can just create him using SU01 and assign the required profiles (compare with client 000).
    The question is, why it does not exist.
    You can check the change documents for users and find out who did what and when.
    Nevertheless, it is not mandatory that SAP* exists on every single client of a system. As long as the value of the profile parameter login/no_automatic_sapstar is set to 1.
    If it is set to 0, you have two options: either create the user immediately with a safe password, or change the value of the above parameter from 0 to 1.
    Otherwise, your system is extremely vulnerable to attacks.

  • Error in sender file adapter: source directory does not exist

    Hi,
    The PI system is 7.11
    I've created sender file adapter with following details:
    Transport Protocol : File System
    Source directory: /interfaces/In
    I checked in AL11 that this path really exists and it does. (I can even see the .txt file that should be processed.)
    But still i get in Communication Channel Monitoring the following error:
    "Configured Source directory "/interfaces/In" does not exist.
    (i also tried to give the source directory as "interfaces/In" and as "//interfaces/In" but still the same error.
    Any suggestions as to what is wrong?
    kr
    Robert

    Actually, Need to use forward slash (/) to separate directory names in accordance with the Java specification.
    But wanted to try if that works..
    Also check directory name , path again as this is case sensitive...

  • Can a directory to be created if it does not exist on FTP server?

    Hello SOA experts,
    We are good with most common usage of all Adapters. But recently, I am facing a challenge when archive files on FTP server.
    Archive files need to be placed into different folders for each month. For instance, ./archive/201308 for files archived in August. Next month, a new directory ./archive/201309 should be created, ideally automatically.
    My question is, can I do through some configuration and properties setting to let SOA create a remote target directory when it does NOT exist?
    We maintained multiple archive folders for different typr of documents. It is really a hassle to create them manually. And if the target directory does not exist, it would throw errors.
    Thank you very much in advance.

    CGI

    Hi, After reading your post, I myself wanted to test this out. I thought that by configuring the following in the Adapter Wizard it would create the remote directory for me:
    <adapter-config name="FW" adapter="File Adapter" wsdlLocation="FW.wsdl" xmlns="http://platform.integration.oracle/blocks/adapter/fw/metadata">
      <connection-factory location="eis/FileAdapter"/>
      <endpoint-interaction portType="Write_ptt" operation="Write">
        <interaction-spec className="oracle.tip.adapter.file.outbound.FileInteractionSpec">
          <property name="PhysicalDirectory" value="C:\Archive"/>
          <property name="Append" value="false"/>
          <property name="FileNamingConvention" value="%SEQ%\test.txt"/>
          <property name="NumberMessages" value="1"/>
        </interaction-spec>
      </endpoint-interaction>
    </adapter-config>
    It failed on my BPEL instance however I could see that it was trying to create the file. When I created all destinations it was able to create it.
    This is my recommendation from what I understand you'd like to accomplish:
    Create the different Year&Month folders on your destination from Jan to Dec:
    201301
    201302
    201303
    201304
    201305
    201306
    201307
    201308
    201309
    201310
    201311
    201312
    (You can actually create as many as you want going to 2090 if you want...
    Add the below config to your JCA File:
    <adapter-config name="FW" adapter="File Adapter" wsdlLocation="FW.wsdl" xmlns="http://platform.integration.oracle/blocks/adapter/fw/metadata">
      <connection-factory location="eis/FileAdapter"/>
      <endpoint-interaction portType="Write_ptt" operation="Write">
        <interaction-spec className="oracle.tip.adapter.file.outbound.FileInteractionSpec">
          <property name="PhysicalDirectory" value="C:\Archive"/>
          <property name="Append" value="false"/>
          <property name="FileNamingConvention" value="%yyyy.MM%\filename"/>
          <property name="NumberMessages" value="1"/>
        </interaction-spec>
      </endpoint-interaction>
    </adapter-config>
    This will allow the files to be dynamically created in the correct directories.
    This is a work-around and I hope this works for you.

  • File adapter : Do not poll if directory does not exist

    Hi people !
    I have a BPEL process that takes files as Input messages.
    I use a file adapter to do that.
    It works well but I would like to avoid polling the directory if it does not exist, do you know how to control if the directory actually exists ?
    Here is the File Adapter configuration :
    <jca:operation
    PhysicalDirectory="PhysDir"
    ActivationSpec="oracle.tip.adapter.file.inbound.FileActivationSpec"
    PhysicalArchiveDirectory="ArchiveDirl"
    DeleteFile="true"
    IncludeFiles=".*\.xml"
    PollingFrequency="30"
    MinimumAge="0"
    OpaqueSchema="false" >
    </jca:operation>
    Even if the directory does not exist, the process endlessly tries to poll that directory.
    Thanks in advance,
    Romain.

    I do agree with you that the directory should exist because the adapter was configured to poll on that directory !!
    Nevertheless, I would like to know how to control its existence before polling...

  • Mysql.sock does not exist!

    I'm trying to set up mysql. So I went and installed phpmyadmin and it set up without any errors. But when I go to log into it, it gives me error #2002 Cannot log into mysql server. I read that this was because it couldn't access mysql.sock, and sure enough it was looking for the file in /var/mysql/mysql.sock
    Unfortunatly for me, the directory /var/mysql does not exist. I thought I would try to install a later version from mysql.com, but it told me to stop all other instances of mysql with this command. I ran that command, and it said "Cannot connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/mysql/mysql.sock'" !!!!!
    I could go ahead and try to install a new version of MySQL, but it said it would install the sock file in this other folder. (/tmp/mysql.sock) If I do that, I would have to change a bunch of config files to point to this new location, and I don't really know what things need that and what things don't. (I'm kindof new to server management)
    So my question is: Why is mysql.sock not in /var/mysql/ and how do I get it there? I ran locate "mysql.sock" and it returned no results.
    I'm using the stock versions of everything on Mac os X server 10.6.5

    How a server is secured depends on the local configuration and requirements.
    Blocking access to this particular tool might involve putting the tool on a separate Site on a different IP port and not passing that port through the firewall, or blocking access to the tool via rewrite rules, or setting up an http-level password.
    [Here is one thread on this topic|http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2631269/how-to-secure-phpmyadmin], or [here|http://www.phpbuilder.com/board/showthread.php?t=7109220], and particularly see the last part of the [phpMyAdmin Official Quick Install documentation|http://www.phpmyadmin.net/documentation>.
    There are some specific recommendations in the phpMyAdmin tool, including +You should deny access to the ./libraries and ./setup/lib subfolders in your webserver configuration. For Apache you can use supplied .htaccess file in that folder, for other webservers, you should configure this yourself. Such configuration prevents from possible path exposure and cross side scripting vulnerabilities that might happen to be found in that code.+
    I've seen all manner of access attempts and injection attacks attempted against that tool, too; there was a barrage of attempts earlier today on one of my servers.
    And FWIW, I tend to use the command line tools, or the Sequel Pro tool.

    Chapter 3 of three of the Single Sign-on Administrator's Guide (Rel. 3.0.9) refers to 'ssoexp.csh' in the "src/wwu directory in

    I found an "ssoexp.csh" in ".../Portal30/admin/plsql/wwu" that I am going to use.
    Does this mean my Portal install was done wrong? Or is the documentation off?

    Hi,
    I tried to change the directory for DIR_TRANS but I encountered the error directory does not exist. The directory is something like that
    switest\sapmnt\trans. Anything went wrong?
    Ideally the share
    switest\sapmnt points to the location <drive>:/usr/sap/
    Taking your case , sapmnt should point to
    switest\<Drivename>\usr\sap.
    So will be need to ensure that this location is shared as sapmnt and you have created a folder trans under this location.
    Hope this helps.

  • Error "DIR_TRANS does not exist"

    Hello!
    I am trying to add the new system to a transport domain. When I try to change the DIR_TRANS parameter in instance profile to point to the common transport directory, I get an error message "DIR_TRANS directory
    <domserv>\sapmnt\trans does not exist".
    I changed the sapmnt share permissions at the <domserv> to "full" for "Everyone", but still the same. What else should I check?
    Once I resolve this, I'd like to reduce the permissions (full for everyone is temporary, ofcourse). How do I know (or configure) the domain username by which the new system is accessing the common trans folder? SAP_LocalAdmin is always just local, isn't it?
    Thanks!
    Kind regards,
    Igor

    Hi Igor,
    On the machine where you are trying to attach the transport directory, try the following:
    <i>Start -> run -> open</i> :
    <domserv>\sapmnt\trans
    If you can connect to the share then your rights are setup correct. If not please post the error message.
    Also have you had a look at http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/38/c898be538811d2b412006094b9ea64/frameset.htm ?

    work

    This doesn't help me. But later I give a permisson to the directory for everyone group. This time PI process worked and processed file.
    Thanks.

  • Configured source directory does not exist

    Hi Guys,
    I had configured a sender file adapter and when i check the CC monitoring it gives the message : Configured source directory '/usr/sap/NRD/SYS/global' does not exist. But the directory is in the AL11 of R/3 application server. Iam using the NFS in the File Adapter Communication channel.
    Can anyone throw some light reagrding the error.
    Thanks,
    Kittu.

    Kittu,
    1. With NFS , XI server can acccess only folders available on its OWN local path. It cannot access the Path of your R3 machine. The XI server is looking for the path on its own directories and it is not finding the same.
    One option is to mount your Drive on the XI server to some folder. Not something I
    would recommend thought.
    2. The better thing to do would be,
    a) place the file on the XI 's some folder ( you would need a local directory access to the server) or some program to upload the file to the server.
    b ) Use FTP. Look into this blog by Shabrish for how to set up a FTP ion your Local Desktop and make XI access the same,

  • File Adapter to iSeries IFS "Configured source directory does not exist"

    Good day, All
    We are using PI 7.1
    I need the PI file adapter to pull a file off of an iSeries(AS400) IFS folder directory.
    I'm able to configure the file adapter to pull off files from the PI server C and D drives.
    I'm able to configure the file adapter to pull off files from other network drives.
    But the iSeries IFS folder keeps coming back "does not exist".
    I've configured the Source Directory with / and with \ and it doesn't help.
    I am able to navigate to the folder while logged into the PI server as the server admin.
    I've tried mapping a drive on the server to the IFS folder but that doesn't work either.
    Please help!!!
    I've wasted too much time trying different settings on this already.
    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Chad

    Dear Chad,
    Please go through the following SDN link :
    - Configured source directory .... does not exist was suppressed
    give the write permisson to the directory for everyone group and check if that helps.
    Also, kindly go through the following links :
    1) http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/TroubleshootingtheFile+Adapter (point 2)
    2) Not able to read files from Windows directory to Unix Server using NFS
    which might give some hints in solving your issue.
    Best Regards

  • File Adapter: Target directory does not exist

    Hi All,
    Using RFC to File Scenario.
    While processing in File adapter, i get following error for the target directory.
    Delivering the message to the application using connection File_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: Target directory '
    *********************\Out' does not exist and cannot be created.
    Although I am able to use the same target directory on my local machine.

    I think FTP user didnt have suffiecinet otherrization to create directory in FTP, check once again Directory format entered is correct.
    if you have phycial access to FTP then create one folder and enter the same in File channel and push one message and let us know the result.
    Regards,
    Raj

    please provide me the solution .....

    Hello,
    this error is really strange. At this step, sapinst scans all keys that are located under
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services
    in order to find existing SAP services and to retrieve their parameters. Since this usually happens in a sorted way, many other keys must have already been successfully retrieved.
    My guess is now that there is a problem that is related just to the service that was processed in the current iteration: ltpsnr
    -> call regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services
    -> locate the ltpsnr entry, is it actually there? If yes:
    -> right click on the entry and chose 'permissions'
    -> are the permissions here actually different compared to the other entries?
    Best Regards,
    Michael
