Direct Streaming of data from onboard memory to Host memory in PXI 5122

Hey All,
I have a small query about PXI 5122. In Data Sheet its written that " The PXI-5122 also can stream data continuously from onboard memory to host memory for longer acquisitions and streaming to disk. "
So do we have to write some code for streaming the data on hard disk or when drivers of this card is installed then some VI's will appear in control panel through which we can stream data on hard disk ??

u have to write some code for streaming the data on hard disk,
for any applications using labview u need to do coding........
here is a vi which will do streaming of data on to hard disk
to know more about digitizers (C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.1\examples\instr\niScope\niScope EX Getting Started.vi)
or in labview goto

Transfer data from cFP to the host

Hi all, I'm using a Fieldpoint cFP 2120 to take data from temperature sensors. I created the VI to read data and targeted it to the cFP from the project. Since I want to store these data, I saved them in file in the cFP, but I want to see them from the host; so I have some questions:
- How can I transfer the saved file from the cFP memory to the host?
- I can directly save the data into the host while I'm running the VI targeted into the cFP?
- How can I access to the cFP memory (see the files in it)?

Hi,
I am using Compact FieldPoint 2120 with analog I/O to control a robot arm and i am trying to interface a third party device such as a mobile phone (using Java) to program and control the rotation of each joint of the robot arm. I understand this process can be done through TCP/IP or usign DSC software.
For example:
Hosting on TCP port (?) and use the syntax
[newline]::[joint number]::[degree of freedom]::[set to angle in degrees]::
[arm number] = an ascii value 1 or 2 to determine which arm.
[joint number] = an ascii number value.
[degree of freedom] = ascii value x,y or z.
[set to angle in degrees] = ascii value between 0 and 360.
The true is that i have no clue how to set up the interface steps and i will appreciate if someone can suggest an easy way of doing the above steps and which software to use. I am currently using LabVIEW 8.20 for building the control model for the robot arm.

Save data from rt target to host windows pc

I have a VI created in Windows which I deployed on the RT target and I need to acquire the data from one of the module and store that data in my host windos pc where I am running the VI I am getting an Erro:7 while doing this

Hi Ninad,
The error 7 occurs when LabVIEW doesn't find a file.
I would recommend you to first, send the data to the host (with a shared variable, as an example), and then write on the hard disk of your host.

Stream of data from server to client, what is a good form

I am building a small client server app where the server is constantly sending data to the client. The data is such that it readily lends itself to being in key/value pairs. My thought is to basically have the server send out a string of text to the client like "1:name, 2:age, 3:date, 4:salary" and then have the client parse it out. I can have an object, and just make a toString() method that spits out the fields in that way. But...
Do you guys think this is a good way of sending data out. I will only have at most 20 clients running at once, and the data will get no more than say, 50 key/value pairs. Another way I suppose is to convert it to XML, I'd have to read more about it because I'm not exactly sure how to encapsulate data into XML format or how to use Java's DOM API, but perhaps that is overkill, what do you guys think. Also is there an existing Java parsing API out there already, somethign that I haven't found, that would make all of this very easy? As of right now I have to make sure my output stream is in good form, and then still the client will have to do some kludging parsing with commas and what not. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Today you only want a few key/value pairs but tomorrow you will decide you need a more complex data structure. I would probably use Serialization using ObjectInput/OutputStream or, as you have considered, XML.
If both sides are to be written in Java then I would probably use Serialization.

Error while Exporting large data from Reportviewer on azure hosted website.

I have website hosted on azure. I used SSRS reportviewer control to showcase my reports. while doing so i faced an issue.
Whenever i export large amount of data as Excel/PDF/word/tiff it abruptly throw following error:

It works locally (developer machine) or having less data. But it didn't work with large data when publish on azure.

Sorry, let me clarify my questions as they were ambiguous:
For a given set if input, does the request always take the same amount of time to fail? How long does it take?
When it works (e.g. on local machine using same input), how big is the output file that gets downloaded?
Also, if you can share your site name (directly or
indirectly), and the UTC time where you made an attempt, we may be able to get more info on our side.

How to fetch data from different sources into one source (like into Ztable)

As per our client requirements they want to develope an Inventory and an Ontime delivery report in BO on top of Oracle database.
Situation is some thing like they have ECC 6.0.and they want to collect all inventory and ontime delivery data at one place.According to me that could be one Ztable in which we can gather all data.Apart from that they are going to use Data Integrator in which they can directly fetch the data from R/3 system(They dont want to have BI system) and put all data in Oracle DB.On top of ORacle BO person can develop BO reports.
My question is how to fetch all data at one place and what are the tables going to be use.
kindly help me out as its very important project.

The following is my standard reply to those who need to get old data from a backup in one account and add it to another account. The method described here may be applied to your case. It would be a bit of a long process, though.
When connected to the account you want to GET data from, Go to Settings>iCloud and turn all data that is syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off.
When prompted choose to keep the data on the iPhone.
After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID and turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On. When prompted, choose Merge. This will upload the data to this new account.
Note that this only affects the "Apple data" like contacts, calendars, reminders, etc. Many third party apps also use iCloud to store data files there. These files may be lost in the process, unless the apps also keep the data locally on the device.
NOTE: Photos in the photo stream (if you use it) will not transfer to the new account. It is advised that you save the photos to a computer before performing the account switch.

Can we directly pump in data from R/3 4.6c to BW 3.5. Currently we populate changes from PO material and schedule data in R/3 to BW 3.0, using SAP EventManager EM 4.0. Is this feasible?

Reading data from mlx90129 rfid tag chip by using spi communication with labview?

i have evb90129 evalution board in that mlx90129 chip and external memory (cat25128) and three external sensors are there, i am logging data from chip by using rfid reader it ok i am reading. at the same time i configured spi communication and i am trying to read data i am reading data from internal memory not from external memory i tried but i didnt suceed , now can i use labview to read data from mlx chip and external memory. for spi communication i am using sparkfunction atmega168 microcontroller and also i have spi to usb cable? now can i communicate or i required any devies? is it possible?

I suspect the culprit to be the first parameter to your function actually. Calling another function requires the caller to allocate any buffer with a big enough size for the function to write something into. Allocate that array by using Initialize Array with U8 as type and the correct number as size. Pass this size also as read_length. While your code doesn't make use of this I think the third parameter to your function is either wrong or unnecessary.
As you use it now it is really nothing more than a local stack variable which you could declare inside the fucntion just as well. On the other hand what you probably want to do is have a function prototype like:
extern "C" _declspec(dllexport) unsigned char read_Sensor(unsigned *char read_data, unsigned long read_length, unsigned long *byte_transfered);
But you will have to do some modifications in your C code to support that parameter correctly.
That all said, doing the same in LabVIEW using VISA functions would have been done with about two VISA nodes, no DLL headaches and probably already long ago working.

PXIe-5122 continuous stream 2 channels to disk with 100MS/s

Hey,
I am currently trying to find a way to stream 2 channels to disk with 100MS/s with my PXIe-5122. According to the product specification, the card should be able to do this.
Unfortunately, I have'nt seen any programs.
What I have are two loops, one for the DAQ and one to empty the onboard memory using a queue and writing the fetched waveform data into a tdms file. I keep obtaining the error, that samples in the onboard memory are overwritten... therefore, the VI doesn't empty the onboard memory in sufficient speed.
Does anybody know how I could solve this problem? Or does anybody have a program?

you are writing about that you didn#t see any application for the 5122. If you mean examples, there are a lot of examples installed on your system when you install the driver sw for the device. eg. there is an example called niScope EX Stream to Disk, that seems to be interesting for your issue
Examples are available in the Example Finder of LabVIEW, in the folder: "Hardware Input and Output" -> "Modular Instruments" -> NI-SCOPE (High Speed Digitizer)" -> "Continious Acquisition".
This can give you first ideas!

Can I use LabVIEW to load data directly into system memory? The serial card I'm using isn't supported by NI nor does VISA recognize it. I'm using a Win32 function to read the data from the card and now I want it to go directly to system memory.

Two questions:
One, if it's a serial card, then presumably it gives you more serial ports, like COM3, COM4, etc. If so, VISA would see the COM ports, and not the card directly. The drivers for the card should make it so that you see the extra serial ports from the OS. If you don't see the extra COM ports from VISA, then it sounds like the drivers for the card are not installed properly. Do the extra COM ports show up in Device Manager?
Two, you said that you're using a Call Library function to get the data and you want to put it into system memory. Errr.... you just read the data and you have it in memory by definition. Are you saying you need a way to parse the data so it shows up on a graph or something?

Not able to Delete the data from Memory card

Hi all,
I have bought a new nokia 3120 classic.it is working fine but recently i have received some data from my friend.
Then suddenly the problem begins like.. when i take a photo.. i am getting error like the image is not in the format and i am not able to save that.And also, the main problem is I am unable to delete the data from my memory card.
Every time after deleting i am getting the same data.
Why this happening..is it because of VIRUS?? If so how to delete the virus from my memory card??
When i contacted the nokia care people in bangalore they are saying that they can offer the service of formatting the memory card??
Except that my Phone is working fine..the problem is with Memory card!!!

you can actually format your memory card first see if you have such option on your phone to format directly from the phone if that is not possible you can always use a card reader and reformat your card using your pc. just understand that all data from that memory card will be lost unless you do a back up of it. if you do a back up and restore the data to the memory card after reformat you might get the same issue so be careful as to what you will decide to do with the data from the card. once you format your card it should all be good unless the card is corrupted itself which can also happen. but first try with the reformat and see if it works out for you.

Is it possible to pass data from Flex to BlazeDS/POJO as a stream?

Is it possible to make a remote call to a remote Java object that uses BlazeDS so that the data is gotten as a stream (InputStream)? For example when uploading a file, it would require less memory.
The BlazeDS examples about file upload that I've seen read the data from file to client memory first with FileReference#load() and after that pass it to the server as ByteArray. By doing so, both client and server need to load the whole file data into memory before it can be passed/processed.

It's not quite what I was looking for, but it gave me some ideas.
The blog post describes how to create your own server to handle the file stream. With BlazeDS & Java EE app server there's no need to implement the low level stuff.
One option would be to read the data on Flex side in chunks and make a request to send each chunk at a time, but I don't know whether this helps at all. Might just slow down the network.
Another option is to write a custom adapter for BlazeDS endpoint, but I don't know enough details on this to say is it possible or not.
Third option is to use regular servlet code and Apache Commons FileUpload module.
Still interested hearing opinions from people working with BlazeDS.
