    Hello,
    1)
    May be the problem is a network connectivity issue. Do one thing copy the "cahce" folder from some other client PC(which has successfully opened IR and ID) to your client PC. The folder resides in "C:Documents and Settings<yourUserProfile>Application DataSunJavaDeploymentjavaws".
    Copy "cache" folder to your client PC under the above path.

    Click on Administration -> Java™ Web Start -> Java™ Web Start Administration ->
    Try
    1. Re-initialization (then try logging)
    2. Re-initialization and force-signing (then try logging)
    3. Delete lock (then try logging)
    Do this for IR and ID tabs.

  • Report Directory Creation

    Can you please change the report object to incorporate directory creation?  I'd like to file reports by date/time and dynamic directory creation is needed to do this in Lookout.
    Another way to print screens to pdf (preferred) or html with date/time directories or filenames would be welcome.  Since the report graphic objects are not nameable (by date/time for example), new directory is needed for each report to properly file/separate them.
    Related to this is the ability to make a date object (expression, or other) dynamic included in a filename with the correct numeric format.  No luck so far.
    Ideas/experience welcome!

    Okay, I've got it.  You will need to disable images for this post page to see as typed (without smiley faces...that are NOT supposed to be in my text below)
    Key was to use expressions with embedded text functions such as:
     "cmd /c mkdir \\Domain\Share\lookout\reports\all_rad\"&left(text(if(Sw_All_Rad_Tnd_Live,now(Tmr_5sec),Pt_All_Ht_Start.value),"yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm"),10)&"\"&mid(text(if(Sw_All_Rad_Tnd_Live,now(Tmr_5sec),Pt_All_Ht_Start.value),"yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm"),12,2)
    The above is the value of an expression object that is connected to the run object's "Command line" property which writes the directory yyyy-mm-dd\hh based on a conditional pot value.
    The report's " Output directory" property uses another expression object that is similar, just without the dos command:
    "\\Domain\Share\lookout\reports\all_rad\"&left(text(if(Sw_All_Rad_Tnd_Live,now(Tmr_5sec),Pt_All_Ht_Start.value),"yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm"),10)&"\"&mid(text(if(Sw_All_Rad_Tnd_Live,now(Tmr_5sec),Pt_All_Ht_Start.value),"yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm"),12,2)
    Lookout is power, even if it is clumsy sometimes.
    A separate issue with reports is that the panels I am trying to print are full screen (normally maximized, normal panels).  Unfortunately, when the Panel.graphic is connected to the report.display parameter, it uses the screen property size and does not use the "maximized" equivalent size.
    The issue is that you cannot make a "non" maximized normal panel as big as it is when displayed maximized, so it is impossible to print the entire panel as it is displayed in Lookout.
    It would be great if this could be "fixed" some how.  Ryan....comment?

  • Directory Creation in Unix/Linux  using sysop group.

    Hi All,
    Directory Creation in Linux using sysop group.
    I want to create a directory using sysop group but it default create using root:root
    I have other user called test:test using test:test sysop group i want create directory
    In java using test:test sysop group how to create directory.
    Is it possible i have checked the File API. I did't find any information.
    Please any one help me.
    Thanks
    Venu J

    I find it worrying that you are able to create a root:root file since this implies that you are running your Java program as user root.

    So I created another account and it works fine there. Compared permissions between the two accounts and they appear identical. Looks like it can't create the .tarantella directory in my home directory. Did have some home directory permission problems a couple weeks ago and used the utility on the Mac OSX install disk to reset home directory permissions and ACLs.

  • File sharing problem - prevent directory creation

    Under one of my share points, I'm trying to create a folder in which users in a specific group can read and write files but cannot create new folders. I didn't see any way of doing this with the standard POSIX permission sets, so I tried ACL
    I opened up Server Admin, and added an ACL entry for that folder that enabled the group in question to have full Read permissions, and only file creation permissions. I saved the changes, checked to make sure the volume (it's actually my boot volume, but this is just to see if it works) had ACL enabled.
    If a user in that group logs in through AFP, and attempts to copy a file over, they are denied access (Bad!). If they try to create a folder they are denied access (Good!). But on a whole it just seems as if write permissions altogether aren't there. In any case, the ACL permission set doesn't seem to be working. Does anyone have any suggestions?
    I'm running a fresh install of OS X Server 10.5.6 on a brand new X-Serve.

    Just as an update I tried this with SMB and everything is working as it should. It's just AFP that's giving me trouble right now.

  • Zfs on solaris 10 and home directory creation

    I am using samba and a root preexec script to automatically create individual ZFS filesystem home directories with quotas on a Solaris 10 server that is a member of a Windows 2003 domain.
    There are about 60,000 users in Active Directory.
    My question is about best practice.
    I am worried about the overhead of having 60,000 ZFS filesytems to mount and run on Solaris 10 ?
    Edited by: fatfish on Apr 29, 2010 2:51 AM

    Testing results as follows -
    Solaris 10 10/09 running as VM on Vmware ESX server with 7 GB RAM 1 CPU 64 bit.
    ZFS pool created with three 50 GB FC LUNS from our SAN (Hardware RAID5). There are shared to ESX server and presented to the Solaris VM as Raw Device Mappings (no VMFS).
    I set up a simple script to create 3000 ZFS filesystem home directories
    #!/usr/bin/bash
    for i in {1..3000}
    do
    zfs create tank/users/test$i
    echo "$i created"
    done
    The first 1000 created very quickly.
    By the time I reached about 2000 each filesystem was taking almost 5 seconds to create. Way too long. I gave up after about 2500.
    So I rebooted.
    The 2500 ZFS filesystems mounted in about 4 seconds, so no problem there.
    The problem I have is why do the ZFS file system creation time drop of and become unworkable? I tried again to add to the pool after reboot and there was the same slow creation time.
    Am I better off with just one ZFS file system with 60,000 userquotas applied and lots of ordinary user home directories created under that with mkdir?

  • SUNW.gds resource creation problem / service startup failure

    We have a vendor provided set of application server start and stop scripts that we are trying to mold into a GDS resource. The scripts must be run as a user not as root. This app takes about 6 minutes to start up and it creates about 400 processes in doing so. We gave the user cluster.modify auth so it can create the resource, and the command takes but when the resource is being created, the startup script does not seem to fire. So I'm a little stumped as to make this thing run under the user account project settings. The other thing I noticed is the ports that I specify in the list are never present until the end of the 6 minutes of startup junk, and the GDS seems to log problems about these ports at the onset of creation. Here is the command for the create:
    clrs create -g ss_wfm-rg -t SUNW.gds  \
    -p Start_Command="/home/appl/advxrt/R8.0g/TOP/SOLARIS/bin/StartServer" \
    -p Stop_Command="/home/appl/advxrt/R8.0g/TOP/SOLARIS/bin/ShutdownServer" \
    -p Resource_dependencies=advxprd,ss_hasp-rs \
    -p Port_list=22100/tcp,23100/tcp,27100/tcp,4100/tcp,17100/tcp \
    -p Start_timeout=420 \
    -p Stop_timeout=120 \
    -p Child_mon_level=-1 \
    ss_server_gds-rsAnd from the messages log...

    Detlef or anyone familiar with GDS...
    We agree here that customizing the GDS using your template is the way to go. What I have noticed is that since creating the wrapper scripts to call the newtask command, setup the environment, etc, when the wrapper script finishes (kicking off the native script) the RGM sees this as a fault and immeidately tries to restart the agent. Here is a snippet of the messages log.

Even assigning the user's project settings to the resources does not seem to allow the native vendor supplied startup scripts to launch (they say it is purely because we did not setup the working directory, etc, correctly, which the wrapper scripts do quite well). Is is normal for the wrapper script to "die" but yet have GDS probe the ports after X amount of time? Is this where the sleeping dummy comes into play?
    thanks in advance!

  • Strange Image creation Problem

    hi@all
    Just now i got a problem with Image creation.
    Alert a;
    try {
    Image m = Image.createImage("/" +Words[CurrentPage*8+i]+".jpg");
    a = new Alert(Words[CurrentPage*8+i], "", m, AlertType.INFO);
    a.setTimeout(Alert.FOREVER);
    display.setCurrent(a);
         } catch (IOException e) {
                        e.printStackTrace();
    then i got an exeption as following:
    java.io.IOException
         at javax.microedition.lcdui.ImmutableImage.getImageFromStream(+15)
         at javax.microedition.lcdui.ImmutableImage.<init>(+20)

    I put the images into directory res, and when i print out the image path, it is correct. I rewrite
    Image m = Image.createImage("/" +Words[CurrentPage*8+i]+".jpg");
    like this Image m = Image.createImage("/myImage.jpg"); then it works!
    I can not find any clue to solve this problem, totally confused.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thank u all in advance!!!!

    Well, assuming this is an honest question then you need to go to the apple icon top left, click it, then click system preferences from the drop down, and then select energy saver from the menu that appears. You can adjust how long it takes before your mac automatically switches off your display there.
    I don't really see how posting in the Developer forums is relevant for basic tech support. Unless of course you're doing so to highlight the stupidity of my question.

  • BEA Appserver 9.1 server creation problem

    Hi
    I'm facing a issue with an installation of BEA Appserver 9.1 on Solaris 10. I have a working installation on a separate machine which I set up myself, but am having a problem on this one machine.
    More specifically, I'm facing an issue with the creation of the Admin server and Managed Server within the domain.
    I ran the '/usr/local/bea/weblogic91/common/bin/config.sh' to create the domain and managed servers. The domain gets created, but the Admin and Managed servers do not created within the domain. I see all directories EXCEPT the 'servers' directory beneath the domain.
    I tried several times, and also ran that configurator in both console and GUI modes, but I get the same result each time.
    The logfile created when I use the '-log' option with the configurator, doesn't show any errors/exceptions.
    I also tried un-installing and re-installing the product.
    I'm wondering if any of you came across such a situation and resolved it.
    RG.

    Rahul,
    you can also add the following entry to the startWebLogic.cmd script in your domain
    set PRODUCTION_MODE=true
    cheers

  • Active Directory accounts problem logging in to Mavericks

    We have twenty iMacs in a lab and five in an Internet café, all wired to a multiple subnet network. OS X Mavericks is bound to Active Directory.  Frequently OS X Mavericks behaves as if the network user account password is entered incorrectly until the iMac is restarted.  This did not happen when we had Mountain Lion.  We never have problems logging in to Windows computers bound to Active Directory.

  • Active Directory - Authentication Problem

    Hi Guys,
    I'm seeing something really weird in my Environment.
    For example, we have two users as example below in our Active Directory:
    jonesp - Paul Jones
    jonesph - Phillip Jones
    These users can't login into any Mac connected in Active Directory, on PCs the login goes fine.
    But when I renamed the login jonesp to jonespa, both users can login in the Macs.
    Anyone have this issue too? There is a KB telling about this behavior?
    This happens on Macs running 10.7.* and 10.8.*.
    Thanks

    Sorry CT,
    The problem isn't with Active Directory, this only happens on Macs.
    The problem doesn't happens with Windows and Linux, only on Macs.
    Anyway thanks for your help.

  • Active Directory Server Problem

    Hi All,
    This mail Seeks to get help from people who have worked with Active Directory Server.
    The following is our Current scenario.
    We are in the process of establishing an SSL connection to Active Directory Server from java environment(a standalone class) in Windows 2000.
    1.Active Directory Server is installed in an independent Win 2k machine.
    2.SSL is enabled in the Active Directory Server Machine by installing the Enterprise Root Certificate.
    3.Microsoft High Encryption pack is installed in both the client and the Server(AD)
    4.The .cer file from the AD machine is imported in to the Client's keystore(cacerts) using the keytool utility.
    5.The AD m/c is part of a domain named "rsa" and client m/c is part of the domain named "cts"
    With the above setup,The following code tries to Establish an SSL context to the AD through JNDI.
    Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
    env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,"com.sun.jndi.ldap.LdapCtxFactory");
    env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL,"ldap://blr03srv1.rsa.com:636");
    env.put(Context.SECURITY_PROTOCOL, "ssl");
    env.put(Context.SECURITY_AUTHENTICATION, "simple");
    env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL,"CN=Administrator,CN=Users,DC=rsa,DC=com");
    env.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS,"password");
    try{
         DirContext ctx = new InitialDirContext(env);
         ctx.close();
    }catch (Exception e){
         e.printStackTrace();
    When we try to run this Client we are facing a SSLHandShakeException with a message saying "No trusted certificate found".
    As far as we know the .cer file is successfully imported in to the cacerts which is used by the J2SE as the default keystore.
    Hence we ran out of ideas,as we think that there could be some other issue which is causing this problem.
    We are looking forward to get inputs from AD enlightened people to Solve this issue
    Thanks in Advance,
    Manivannan.A

    I had problem the same and still I did not obtain to decide it, if for perhaps obtaining he passes me the solution.
