Directory remote transfer

Hi,
I am working on an application to transfer directories remotely using multi-threads, sockects and FileOutputStream classes. In the client side everything works perfect, no problems. I check whether the path is a file or directory and send every single file
In the server side the file is received but when trying to write in a directory:
BufferedOutputStream out = new BufferedOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(new File("c:\\PROJECTS")));
i cannot figure out how to get the files' name corresponding to the original file. Using the FILE class i need to specify a file name before hand, that i dont want to, of course. But cannot find the way with the standard tools am aware of.
I believe this problem should have an easy solution and am missing something despite i looked through all the documentation and check in internet.
I will appreciate some advice and comments to sort out this problem.
thank you

Hi and thank you for your answer, but...
I already checked how to send information about the data but no luck, am stack with FILEINPUTSTREAM and FILE classes and dont find the way to do so.
I thought of creating a second socket using DATAINPUTSTREAM but i dont think is a clean solution, so i would like to find the way to do so with the same socket

  • OS X Server Open Directory Remote Login

In short, I can't bind a remote machine to authenticate users at the remote location. I can get the machine to initially setup using RFC2307 search and mappings. Once I let that, "marinate" for a bit. I can then go in, change the mappings to Open Directory, and all will work. However, that doesn't persist across reboots. The only thing that will persist across reboots is RFC2307 search and mappings. But with only RFC2307, I don't get home directory access. In the above scenario, when I switch it to Open Directory, I can get home directory access. But, again, not feasible if doesn't persist across reboot.
It works flawlessly in house / local LAN so far. Although this environment is being built from ground up as we speak. So much testing has yet to be done. This is just one big hurdle that came along.
I sincerely appreciate any one's help or advice that could point me in the right direction to achieve this goal.
I should note, I have check all DNS records, connectivity, but am willing to try anything again.
    Thanks in advance!!!

Describe for me your network.  When you say remote location, do you mean two physical locations separated by distance that are connected via a VPN tunnel?  or do you mean that you punched some holes in a firewall to attempt to allow the clients to bind to the server?  I am hoping the first option.
If you have a VPN tunnel between the two locations and DNS is available on both sides of the fence, you likely don't need to define the mappings.  I tend to leave the option set to "from server" and I've never run into any issues.
When you are binding, are you using the simple bind via System Preferences or are you using Directory Utility?  Are you performing authenticated binds or unauthenticated binds?
If you have two locations, Main office 10.0.0.0/24 and Remote office 10.0.10.0/24.  Make sure that the Remote side is using DNS that resolve to devices in Main.  For example, if the server is at 10.0.0.10 and it is the DNS server, then the clients on the 10.0.10.0/24 network should be hitting 10.0.0.10 for name resolution (unless you have replicated DNS to the 10.0.10.0/24 network.
Since you are building this from scratch, you might want to consider using two OD servers, Master and Replica, placing a replica in the remote office and then using OD Locales to better direct your clients.

  • One WLC for Headquarter and Remote Site

    Hi
I have a question about the WLC remote deployment.
We have the following design at the moment:
    Headquarter
    - Network 192.168.49.0 /24
    - WLC 4402 Version 4.2.61.0
    -- 3 x LAP1252
    -- Layer 3 LWAPP
    -- SSID wep
    -- SSID wpa
    - Windows PDC with Active Directory, DHCP Server and local Data Storage
    - ACS Version 3.2 for TACACS and RADIUS authentication --> External DB to Active Directory
    Remote Site
    - Network 192.168.50.0 /24
    - 2 x LAP1252
    -- SSID wep
    -- SSID wpa
    - Windows PDC with Active Directory, DHCP Server and local Data Storage
    - ACS Version 3.2 for TACACS and RADIUS authentication --> External DB to Active Directory
Connection between Headquarter and Remote Site
    - 2 Mbit ADSL
The problem is, that the wireless clients on the remote site get an ip address out of the headquarter DHCP Range 192.168.49.0 /24. The users on the remote site
most of the time only use the local data server in the remote office. With the actual design the hole traffic is switched over the 2 Mbit ADSL connection the the
WLC in the headquarter and back to the remote site. That works but it is not that performant.
The problem could be solved with HREAP, but what I think is, that it is not possible to have the same SSID at headquarter and remote site with different VLANs.
How can I achieve, that the clients on the remote site connect to the same SSID (wep or wpa), get an ip address from the remote site DHCP server (192.168.50.0)
and the traffic is switched localy.
I hope you understand what the problem is.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes, putting the remote AP's in HREAP mode will allow the same WLANs to be available on the AP's but the traffic would be locally switched at the AP instead of being tunneled back to the controller. After you put the AP in HREAP mode you then would configure which VLAN you want traffic for each WLAN to be dumped onto for that AP.

  • FTP Time Out - Cannot Open Remote Folder

I am using Dreamweaver CS3 and windows Vista.  I have set-up site definition (with user id and password) and used to be able to connect to the remote server, open remote folders, and upload and download files using Dreamweaver.  However, all of sudden I cannot open the host directory remote folder where all of my website information are, It just times out.  I can connect to the server, if I don't specify the host directory.  I changed FTP time out in dreamwever to increase ftp time, but still it times out.  I used to be able to open the host directory without any problem, and I have not changed any information in site definition. I have tried to use fireFTP, and I can connect to the server but cannot open the the host directory, same as in Dreamweaver.
Other pople working on the same website, with same site definition with the same user name and password can connect and open the same host directory remote folder using Dreamweaver on their pcs without any problem.  So it seems like the problem is with my pc or Dreamweaver setting, even though I have not changed any settings.
Does anyone know what would be causing this problem and how I can resolve this issue?  Thanks.

I found out that the remote folder which I can't open (host directory) contains many wmv video files, which might be causing the problem of timing out using Dreamweaver on my PC.  Other people can open the same folder using their Dreamweaver on their PCs.
I can connect to another remote server and open all the folders in Dreamweaver without any problems.
Is there any settings I can change in Dreamweaver or on PCs to resolve this issue, or any other suggestions?  Thanks.

  • No Transfer Rule(s) available for the transfer structure 0FI_AR_4_DB in the

    Hi friends
when i have trying to transport infocube 0fiar_c03 with infosource 0fi_ar_4 from development client.the following message has shown as error "No Transfer Rule(s) available for the transfer structure 0FI_AR_4_DB in the control table".pl let me know the possible cause of error.
    Rgds
    Tukuna

    dear Tukuna,
it seems the transfer rules not transport.
try in dev, change transfer rules,
and from menu extras (beside go to) -> object directory entry -> transfer rules -> in next screen, check if package/development class is $TMP, click pencil icon, and choose your package/dev class, system will prompt request, create new request and transport.
    <b>if package/dev class isn't $TMP</b>, try following,
rsa1->transport connection->left panel choose 'object type' and middle panel 'infosource' and 'select objects', and choose '0fi_ar_4' and 'transfer', then you will see 0fi_ar_4 in right panel, we will use this infosource to collect transfer rules.
you may need to specify the source system assignment in transport connection when collecting objects, click 'source system assignment' and make sure your r/3 source system is marked.
choose collection mode 'manual' and grouping 'in dataflow before', and 'execute', after objects collection finished, expand the infosource and make sure your transfer rules and datasources are there and marked. click transport (truck icon).
also make sure you maintain the source system mapping in TARGET system (QAS), rsa1->tools->source system mapping (tcode rslgmp), fill 'orgsrcsys' with r/3 dev and 'trgsrcsys' with r/3 QAS, do the same for BW Prod with r/3 qas for 'orgsrcsys' and r/3 prod for 'trgsrcsys'.
    hope this helps.

  • Restoring user accounts from system install backup directory

    Hi,
I had some kind of disk problem that forced me to reload tiger. When tiger intalled it backed up all of the user directries. After the new install booted up I can not figure out how to restore all of my user accounts from this backup directory. Maybe I am making it too hard (ex PC user). The migtration utility only wants to restore off a Mac or different volume. Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    imac g4 800   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

If you did an Archive & Install, then you should have selected the saving user and network settings. Otherwise, everything was put into the Previous System folder. IIRC, you need to recreate the users, using the exact same username and password combinations. Then, log into each account, open the corresponding folder within the Previous System/Users/ directory and transfer everything from the old account to current account.

  • HT1848 How to move rented movie to my iPad remotely?

How to remotely transfer rented movie to my iPad?

Not if you rented and downloaded it on your iPad, you can only watch it on that - from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1657 :
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.

    4.5.3Maintaining System Landscape Information
The Maintenance Optimizer relies upon up-to-date information about your system landscape. Therefore you have to maintain this data in SAP Solution Manageru2019s system landscape (transaction SMSY). In the following, you will find the description how to maintain this data. If you already have maintained the system landscape data, then check if the data is correct.
If you use the System Landscape Directory (SLD), then use it to capture the system data.
If you do not use the System Landscape Directory (for example, if you have a pure ABAP system), you use RFC connections to maintain the data.
    Procedure
Maintaining the System Landscape Data Using SLD
    1.
Register both Java systems and ABAP systems that you want to update in your central SLD.
The central SLD can either be on your SAP Solution Manager system, or you can have a separate system where you run the SLD (central runtime SLD). If you use a central runtime SLD, make sure that it is synchronized with the local SLD of your SAP Solution Manager system.

    1.
Choose the Client tab for your system.
    2.
    Maintain at least client 000.
    3.
Create an RFC connection between the Solution Manager and the system you want to update using the RFC Assistant.
    5.
    Start the data transfer
To initiate the remote transfer of system data from the target system, choose the Read System Data Remote.
    RECOMMENDATION
We recommend you to schedule automatic data transfers using transaction SMSY_SETUP.

  • After IMPDP in new schema all pl/sql in UPPERCASE.

    Hi,
I am using ORACLE 11g R2 DB and IBM AIX OS.
I have faced a very different situation. I had last night's backup dump file of the user, in the morning we had some issue so we need to restore that dump in the current user. So i dropped the user first and then created it. Gave all the respective privileges and started the IMPDP process in which i passed the same dump file from last night's backup. This dump file belonged to the same user. So , the dump is of the same user in which it is getting imported.
But to my surprise all the pl/sql blocks(procedures, functions, packages) all have been imported in UPPERCASE. Even the comments and the single quotes values by which we can do the data matching, all are turned into UPPERCASE. So we are facing a lot issue with it as data is not getting matched as per the procedure.
The user is passing the value as 'app server' and in the procedure the value is as "SELECT.......WHERE SERVER_NAME='APP SERVER' " . so the data is not matched and it returns no output. This is a case in many procedures and we found this only after we imported this dump file.
The IMPDP command is as follows:-
    impdp \'sys as sysdba\' directory=remote dumpfile=dblink_ngpmt_mt_mt01_19-03-2012-13-10-20.dmp logfile=dblink_ngpmt_mt_mt01_19-03-2012-13-10-20.log remap_schema=MT01:mt01The log file is as below :-

Job "SYS"."SYS_IMPORT_FULL_01" completed with 120 error(s) at 18:24:32Please advice me what is the solution for this? what exactly must have been happen that all the pl/sql got converted in UPPERCASE.
    Thanks in advance.

Ok, so with the sql fie, you verified that the dump file is being represented in all upper case. Now you want to check the source database. Can you do this on the source data base.
    set pagesize 10000
    set long 900000000
    select dbms_metadata.get_ddl('PACKAGE_BODY', 'SOME_PACKAGE_THAT_LOOKS_WRONG', 'SCHEMA_OWNING_PCK) from sys.dual;
If this comes out in all caps, then someone messed with your source database. If it doesn't, then I can't figure out how the dumpfile got to be all caps.
Let us know what the results are for the above query.
    Thanks
    Dean

  • [SOLVED] More rsync problems after restore... Read only filesystem?

Yesterday I backed up all of my data with rsync to a USB thumb drive. Surprisingly it all fit, but my intentions were to wipe my disk and create a new partition scheme for a dualboot while still being able to continue where I left off with arch. So after backing up with the script from the arch wiki titled full system restore with rsync, I followed the rest of that page, and modified the fstab on the backup on the USB and reconfigured grub and restarted my computer and I was able to boot into the USB. Then, I decided that it would be easier to just use the live cd to repartition and pacstrap the base system and generated an fstab. Next, I chrooted from the livecd environment into the newly built base and installed rsync. I then mounted my USB to /mnt in the chrooted environment and used
    rsync -aAXv /mnt/ARCH_BACKUP/* / --exclude={/mnt/ARCH_BACKUP/etc/fstab,/mnt/ARCH_BACKUP/boot/grub/}
I just did this since I figured that all of the directories excluded in the script wouldn't really have to be excluded here since they were already empty. Everything seemed to run smoothly except for one file(or maybe directory?) called /etc/resolv.conf.t.jbnW2 which kept giving an error. I figured the file was unique to the USB or something and continued to reinstall grub and then reboot. The weird thing is that everything was back on my system, but it didn't automatically boot into a display manager which it's set up to do. Then when trying to manually start x, that wouldn't work. Then I tried to connect to wifi, it recognized my network but wouldn't connect, so I tried sudo su, which worked but returned an error that the var file system was read only. I then tried to use rsync again thinking maybe that directory would transfer now that I wasn't in the chrooted environment. But instead, it was trying to restore every single file, but every one returned the error "filesystem is read only".
It seems like when I restored all of the files in my entire system were made read only.
Can anyone tell me what may have caused this and how to fix it?
I think it may either be that when I mounted the device in the chrooted environment I didn't specify 'rw' capabilities, or it may be that when I backed up I didn't specify 'rw' capabilities I just opened the file manager and clicked on it and it automagically mounted to /media/.

Ok, well I fiixed it. I had edited the fstab on the usb to be able to boot into the usb, and, while I edited it again on the hdd each time I restored from the backup, I didn't realize that the top entry /dev/sda1 (which is my root partition) was on a line that was commented out.  I guess I accidentally hit the backspace button or something while editing it to be able to boot into the usb.
Also, I think there was a second problem, that my usb controller is starting to fail. Because on the last time that I backed up, if I moved my computer or anything I would get a I/O error. This was caused by the failing usb controller. The computer would remount it as read-only because of the failure. The solution to this was to use
    hdparm -r0 /dev/sdxy
Note: The device must be unmounted.
Where x is the device and y is the partition number, for me this was sdb1.
    Then mount specifying read-write option.
    mount -o rw /dev/sdxy /media/<BACKUP>
    I also tried
    mount -o remount,rw /dev/sdxy /media/<BACKUP>
as was recommended on all of the sites that I could find, but this command kept returning an error.
Note: For newer users, Arch does not automatically create the media folder as it doesn't provide automatic mounting of external drives. If such is the case, and you haven't installed a desktop environment with a file manager that will automatically do this for you when the device is recognized, you must make the media directory and the directory which you intend to mount to manually.
    # mkdir /media
    # mkdir /media/<BACKUP>
Where <BACKUP> can be whatever you want it to be.

  • Business Service Without Party in Integration Scenrio Configurator

    Hi everybody
I am stucking in a small issue but do not found a related thread.
Can anybody explain me, why I cannot assign a "Business Service" of typ "Service without Party" to an Application Component? I am try to configure my integration Process and call in the directory Tools --> Transfer Integration Scenario from Integration Repository. In the following Configurator I can only assign Business Systems from SLD or Services with a Party depending on the settings of the Application Component in the Repository (Flag "External Party with B2B Communication"). If you configure the scenario manually it is possible to involve Business Services without party. But I would like to make use of the Wizard and my Customer has a lot of Systems maintained as Business services.
    Any suggestions?
    Regards Oliver

    Hi,
I have not done this type of task before.. but from the given links
see the below information was in the above first link
The following steps are then only required if the application component has at least one connection to a B2B component.
           3.      On the Business Services for B2B tab page, enter the business service that you want to use for B2B communication.
The integration process service that is already entered on the  Integration Process Service for A2A tab page is then assigned to this business service.
    B2B Component...
           1.      On the Business Services for B2B tab page, assign the business services.
Use the input help () to select the business services.
           2.      If you want to create a new business service, choose Create Business Service ().
To assign multiple services simultaneously, choose Input Help () in the toolbar of the table (only when assigning business services and business system services).
