Directory RSync help with a twist..

I wish to sync two directories of multiple folders and files (mp3s). Using rsync I have managed to create one master set of directories from the original two...but with unwanted duplicates
If a number of files are identical (jazz.mp3, rock.mp3 etc.) but are located in different directories in both locations, how can avoid/exclude copying them across and therefore creating duplicates of the files.
e.g. /new/jazz.mp3
and /old/jazzfiles/jazz.mp3
using rsync -r /old /new
would result in two directories in /new
/new/jazz.mp3
and /new/old/jazzfiles/jazz.mp3
If someone understands what I am getting at...any pointers much appreciated.
Joel.

I'm not certain, but it sounds like you should to look at rsync's --compare-dest switch:
--compare-dest=DIR
This option instructs rsync to use DIR on the destination
machine as an additional hierarchy to compare destination files
against doing transfers (if the files are missing in the desti-
nation directory). If a file is found in DIR that is identical
to the sender's file, the file will NOT be transferred to the
destination directory. This is useful for creating a sparse
backup of just files that have changed from an earlier backup.
so something like:
rsync -r -compare-dest=/new/jazzfiles /old /new
The command specifically references destination directories, though, but it sounds like you want to compare multiple source directories. I have no idea off hand whether the above still applies.

  • Help with ThinkPad Twist.

    I don't know if this is a ThinkPad thing, a Twist thing, or a Windows 8 thing, but it's annoying to no end.
    I'll be in the desktop app, minding my own business in Google Chrome, moving my mouse across the page, and suddenly I'm switched to the desktop screen. I didn't press any buttons, only moved my mouse. I try to replicate the issue, but it seems to happen spontaneously. Any advice?
    Thanks,
    Daphne

    Hi,
    Does it make a little animation, as if the screen is moving out a little then going back in? If it is, then it's just a touchpad gesture. You can change that in the control panel

  • Need some help with putting a folder in users directory

    I'm not sure how to do this, but what I want to do is put this file in C:/My Documents, but I need to be able to verify that C://My Documents exists, if not put it in C:/Program Files.
    Can any one help me out?
    try {
                        String[] contactArray = parseDatFile(fc.getSelectedFile());
                        Document document = createXMLDocument(contactArray);
                        saveToXMLFile(
                        document,
                        new File(
                        "C:/Program Files/xxx/",// looks for directory for list
                        "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"));
                    } catch (Exception exc) {
                        File f = new File("C:/Program Files/xxx/");// setting directory for list if not there
                        boolean yes = true;
                        yes = f.mkdir();// creating directory
                        try {
                            String[] contactArray = parseDatFile(fc.getSelectedFile());
                            Document document = createXMLDocument(contactArray);
                            saveToXMLFile(
                            document,
                            new File(
                            "C:/Program Files/xxx/",// used only if the directory didn't exist
                            "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"));

    Need some help with putting a folder in users directoryI recomend using System.getProperty( "user.home" ) not a hard-coded value.
    This will use the users home folder ( C:\My Documents ) on Win9X (I guess), C:\Documents and Settings\<current user> on Win2K +, and ~ on Unix-a-likes.

  • Help with Account Removal from Skype Directory

    To whom it may concern,
    I need help with removing my Skype account from the Skype Directory.  According to this webpage: https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA142/can-i-delete-my-skype-account, only someone from Skype Customer Service can remove my account from the directory. Can someone assist me in removing my account from the directory? Thanks.

    I am not eligible for email or live chat service with a skype representative... I decided to post in this forum. Thanks anyway.
    afaik, all users can use the email support option.  But as you said you can not use that facility, send an email to their generic email address instead - [email protected]

  • Help - Contact transfer with a twist

    So, in my USB port on my 83xx, one of the little pins broke and I am unable to connect my berry to my computer.  I have since gotten a new Curve 8900 and cannot figure out how to sync my contacts to my new phone.  Can anyone help with an easy solution, I was thinking of Downloading Google Sync on each and just syncing that way, any thoughts?  Thanks for the help.

    I know some people tried using the bluetooth capability to sync. I've never tried that so I can't say how that would go. Google Sync seems like a good idea. Once the contacts are in Google Contacts you can use the Export link on the right to export to an outlook CSV file. You can then use Outlook's Import and Export wizard to import those contacts into the Outlook Contacts folder. Once they are there you can sync back to the new BlackBerry.
    If someone has been helpful please consider giving them kudos by clicking the star to the left of their post.

  • A little help with rutorrent

    Hi comrades,
    I use rtorrent in terminal without problems but recently I got interested in rutorrent.
    I've been following the rtorrent wiki and rutorrent wiki to get to this point.
    First of all rtorrent is working fine in terminal, but with rutorrent I only get to this far: http://i637.photobucket.com/albums/uu93 … 1403737709
    As you can see in the upeer right of the image it's trying to connect and in the log section is throwing me this:

    ; 6. The directory from the --with-config-file-path compile time option, or the
    ; Windows directory (C:\windows or C:\winnt)
    ; See the PHP docs for more specific information.
    ; http://php.net/configuration.file
    ; The syntax of the file is extremely simple. Whitespace and lines
    ; beginning with a semicolon are silently ignored (as you probably guessed).
    ; Section headers (e.g. [Foo]) are also silently ignored, even though
    ; they might mean something in the future.
    ; Directives following the section heading [PATH=/www/mysite] only
    ; apply to PHP files in the /www/mysite directory. Directives
    ; following the section heading [HOST=www.example.com] only apply to
    ; PHP files served from www.example.com. Directives set in these
    ; special sections cannot be overridden by user-defined INI files or
    ; at runtime. Currently, [PATH=] and [HOST=] sections only work under
    ; CGI/FastCGI.
    ; http://php.net/ini.sections
    ; Directives are specified using the following syntax:
    ; directive = value
    ; Directive names are *case sensitive* - foo=bar is different from FOO=bar.
    ; Directives are variables used to configure PHP or PHP extensions.
    ; There is no name validation. If PHP can't find an expected
    ; directive because it is not set or is mistyped, a default value will be used.
    ; The value can be a string, a number, a PHP constant (e.g. E_ALL or M_PI), one
    ; of the INI constants (On, Off, True, False, Yes, No and None) or an expression
    ; (e.g. E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE), a quoted string ("bar"), or a reference to a
    ; previously set variable or directive (e.g. ${foo})
    ; Expressions in the INI file are limited to bitwise operators and parentheses:
    ; | bitwise OR
    ; ^ bitwise XOR
    ; & bitwise AND
    ; ~ bitwise NOT
    ; ! boolean NOT
    ; Boolean flags can be turned on using the values 1, On, True or Yes.
    ; They can be turned off using the values 0, Off, False or No.
    ; An empty string can be denoted by simply not writing anything after the equal
    ; sign, or by using the None keyword:
    ; foo = ; sets foo to an empty string
    ; foo = None ; sets foo to an empty string
    ; foo = "None" ; sets foo to the string 'None'
    ; If you use constants in your value, and these constants belong to a
    ; dynamically loaded extension (either a PHP extension or a Zend extension),
    ; you may only use these constants *after* the line that loads the extension.
    ; About this file ;
    ; PHP comes packaged with two INI files. One that is recommended to be used
    ; in production environments and one that is recommended to be used in
    ; development environments.
    ; php.ini-production contains settings which hold security, performance and
    ; best practices at its core. But please be aware, these settings may break
    ; compatibility with older or less security conscience applications. We
    ; recommending using the production ini in production and testing environments.
    ; php.ini-development is very similar to its production variant, except it's
    ; much more verbose when it comes to errors. We recommending using the
    ; development version only in development environments as errors shown to
    ; application users can inadvertently leak otherwise secure information.
    ; This is php.ini-production INI file.
    ; Quick Reference ;
    ; The following are all the settings which are different in either the production
    ; or development versions of the INIs with respect to PHP's default behavior.
    ; Please see the actual settings later in the document for more details as to why
    ; we recommend these changes in PHP's behavior.

    ; Output buffering is a mechanism for controlling how much output data
    ; (excluding headers and cookies) PHP should keep internally before pushing that
    ; data to the client. If your application's output exceeds this setting, PHP
    ; will send that data in chunks of roughly the size you specify.
    ; Turning on this setting and managing its maximum buffer size can yield some
    ; interesting side-effects depending on your application and web server.
    ; You may be able to send headers and cookies after you've already sent output
    ; through print or echo. You also may see performance benefits if your server is
    ; emitting less packets due to buffered output versus PHP streaming the output
    ; as it gets it. On production servers, 4096 bytes is a good setting for performance
    ; reasons.

    ; Error handling and logging ;
    ; This directive informs PHP of which errors, warnings and notices you would like
    ; it to take action for. The recommended way of setting values for this
    ; directive is through the use of the error level constants and bitwise
    ; operators. The error level constants are below here for convenience as well as
    ; some common settings and their meanings.
    ; By default, PHP is set to take action on all errors, notices and warnings EXCEPT
    ; those related to E_NOTICE and E_STRICT, which together cover best practices and
    ; recommended coding standards in PHP. For performance reasons, this is the
    ; recommend error reporting setting. Your production server shouldn't be wasting
    ; resources complaining about best practices and coding standards. That's what
    ; development servers and development settings are for.
    ; Note: The php.ini-development file has this setting as E_ALL. This
    ; means it pretty much reports everything which is exactly what you want during
    ; development and early testing.
    ; Error Level Constants:
    ; E_ALL - All errors and warnings (includes E_STRICT as of PHP 5.4.0)
    ; E_ERROR - fatal run-time errors
    ; E_RECOVERABLE_ERROR - almost fatal run-time errors
    ; E_WARNING - run-time warnings (non-fatal errors)
    ; E_PARSE - compile-time parse errors
    ; E_NOTICE - run-time notices (these are warnings which often result
    ; from a bug in your code, but it's possible that it was
    ; intentional (e.g., using an uninitialized variable and
    ; relying on the fact it's automatically initialized to an
    ; empty string)
    ; E_STRICT - run-time notices, enable to have PHP suggest changes
    ; to your code which will ensure the best interoperability
    ; and forward compatibility of your code
    ; E_CORE_ERROR - fatal errors that occur during PHP's initial startup
    ; E_CORE_WARNING - warnings (non-fatal errors) that occur during PHP's
    ; initial startup
    ; E_COMPILE_ERROR - fatal compile-time errors
    ; E_COMPILE_WARNING - compile-time warnings (non-fatal errors)
    ; E_USER_ERROR - user-generated error message
    ; E_USER_WARNING - user-generated warning message
    ; E_USER_NOTICE - user-generated notice message
    ; E_DEPRECATED - warn about code that will not work in future versions
    ; of PHP
    ; E_USER_DEPRECATED - user-generated deprecation warnings
    ; Common Values:
    ; E_ALL (Show all errors, warnings and notices including coding standards.)
    ; E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE (Show all errors, except for notices)
    ; E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE & ~E_STRICT (Show all errors, except for notices and coding standards warnings.)

    ; it could be very dangerous in production environments. Depending on the code
    ; which is triggering the error, sensitive information could potentially leak
    ; out of your application such as database usernames and passwords or worse.

    [PHP]
    ; About php.ini ;
    ; PHP's initialization file, generally called php.ini, is responsible for
    ; configuring many of the aspects of PHP's behavior.
    ; PHP attempts to find and load this configuration from a number of locations.
    ; The following is a summary of its search order:
    ; 1. SAPI module specific location.
    ; 2. The PHPRC environment variable. (As of PHP 5.2.0)
    ; 3. A number of predefined registry keys on Windows (As of PHP 5.2.0)
    ; 4. Current working directory (except CLI)
    ; 5. The web server's directory (for SAPI modules), or directory of PHP
    ; (otherwise in Windows)
${foo})
    ; Expressions in the INI file are limited to bitwise operators and parentheses:
    ; | bitwise OR
    ; ^ bitwise XOR
    ; & bitwise AND
    ; ~ bitwise NOT
    ; ! boolean NOT
    ; Boolean flags can be turned on using the values 1, On, True or Yes.
    ; They can be turned off using the values 0, Off, False or No.
    ; An empty string can be denoted by simply not writing anything after the equal
    ; sign, or by using the None keyword:
    ; foo = ; sets foo to an empty string
    ; foo = None ; sets foo to an empty string
    ; foo = "None" ; sets foo to the string 'None'
    ; If you use constants in your value, and these constants belong to a
    ; dynamically loaded extension (either a PHP extension or a Zend extension),
    ; you may only use these constants *after* the line that loads the extension.
    ; About this file ;
    ; PHP comes packaged with two INI files.
We recommending using the
    ; development version only in development environments as errors shown to
    ; application users can inadvertently leak otherwise secure information.
    ; This is php.ini-production INI file.
    ; Quick Reference ;
    ; The following are all the settings which are different in either the production
    ; or development versions of the INIs with respect to PHP's default behavior.
    ; Please see the actual settings later in the document for more details as to why
    ; we recommend these changes in PHP's behavior.

    ; By default, PHP is set to take action on all errors, notices and warnings EXCEPT

    ; means it pretty much reports everything which is exactly what you want during
    ; development and early testing.
    ; Error Level Constants:

    ; E_ERROR - fatal run-time errors
    ; E_RECOVERABLE_ERROR - almost fatal run-time errors
    ; E_WARNING - run-time warnings (non-fatal errors)
    ; E_PARSE - compile-time parse errors
    ; E_NOTICE - run-time notices (these are warnings which often result
    ; from a bug in your code, but it's possible that it was
    ; intentional (e.g., using an uninitialized variable and
    ; relying on the fact it's automatically initialized to an
    ; empty string)
    ; E_STRICT - run-time notices, enable to have PHP suggest changes
    ; to your code which will ensure the best interoperability
    ; and forward compatibility of your code
    ; E_CORE_ERROR - fatal errors that occur during PHP's initial startup
    ; E_CORE_WARNING - warnings (non-fatal errors) that occur during PHP's
    ; initial startup
    ; E_COMPILE_ERROR - fatal compile-time errors
    ; E_COMPILE_WARNING - compile-time warnings (non-fatal errors)

    ; E_USER_NOTICE - user-generated notice message
    ; E_DEPRECATED - warn about code that will not work in future versions
    ; of PHP
    ; E_USER_DEPRECATED - user-generated deprecation warnings
    ; Common Values:

  • Need help with almost completed plugin engine project

    Hi all,
    For a while now I have been working on a plugin engine. After a few iterations, the engine is similar to the Eclipse engine, in that plugins use extension points and extensions to allow contributions. Unlike the eclipse engine I have added the ability for plugins to fire events through the engine and other plugins can add listeners, all through the plugin.xml manifest. Dependencies are mostly handled automatically at plugin load time (when extensions get resolved to extension points, and listeners get resolved to events). For the case where a plugin needs to use classes from another plugin, dependencies are also allowed to be declared. Like the eclipse engine, activation of plugins occurs the first time a class is used within the plugin's classpath, OR a plugin can be activated after it is loaded.
    What I need help with is testing, working on examples to provide with the engine project, and feedback/suggestions before we release the M1 build. I am asking for those that are interested in this type of work to volunteer to help where applicable and possible. I want to provide a solid plugin engine to the java community, one that is easy to use, works well, and is pretty effecient in terms of resource usage and performance.
    Of particular interest to me right at the moment is dealing with multiple versions. As I see it, the engine will be used within an application and as such plugins would be distributed with a specific application version. The plugin version itself is more of a notification as to what version a plugin is, although I imagine it will help when updating at runtime as well.
    Just a few other details of the engine. It handles (or will soon) dynamic load, unload and reload of plugins at runtime. Plugins can be distributed in an archive file format, we call .par (Plugin ARchive), with additional plugin filename extensions configurable at runtime. The plugins can be developed and deployed in an expanded directory format as they are in Eclipse as well, or in the archive format. In the archive format they do not need to be unzipped when deployed, and they can contain embeded jar/zip libraries. The engine handles finding and creating classes directly out of the .par file at runtime.
    Multiple locations to find plugins are configurable before the engine starts, and even after it starts more could be added to allow additional locations to find plugins. URLs are supported, and soon the HTTP protocol will be supported so that plugins can be downloaded and installed at runtime.
    The project can be found at www.sourceforge.net/projects/genpluginengine. If you would like to get involved and help out, please sign up on the dev mail list and send an email to introduce yourself to the rest of the members on the list.
    I'll also add that I am working on a Swing UI Framework built entirely from plugins. It provides a ready-to-launce UI application that developers can simply add their plugins to, extending various extension points of the framework to have menu items, toolbar buttons, status bar access, help and preferences dialog additions, file i/o choosers, tons of open-source components ready to use (or extend to add on to), and like Eclipse, hopefully... draggable window frames that can be dropped on any other frame to form a tabbed frame of windows. Some of this is a ways off, some is getting there now. Presently you can add menu items that do allow plugin activation when first clicked, so plugins can be loaded but not activated until needed. The Preference dialog works but is not completed, and a plugin that adds a plugin control panel to view all loaded plugins, activate them, load/unload/reload, view extension points, extensions, dependencies, etc is partially completed. The point is, to allow a ready to run UI framework in Swing with an easy path for developers to quickly build applications with. If you are interested in this, when you join the mail list and introduce yourself, indicate that you are interested in this as well, as we need help with plugin development for it and would appreciate more help here too.
    Look forward to some replies.

    Might I suggest setting up a project at a known project-site? I've seen your progress and questions posted here from time to time, but one of the drawbacks is that you have to fill each post with the entirity of your vision to explain what you're doing. That's a lot of text to read - and most folks will skip right over it.
    On the other hand, a well-crafted, good-looking project web-site, with appropriate links and docs and vision statements, diagrams, etc. will have more likelyhood of attracting volunteers. java.net and sourceforge.net are likely spots to set up shop. In addition, you get CVS and bug-tracking systems, which can be quite valuable in such a large-scale project where there are lots of pieces.

  • Help with GSSAPI Kerberos in tomcat JNDIRealm

    Greetings,
    I could use some help with getting tomcat 5.5.12 to use Kerberos against Microsoft Active Directory.
    I have been using Ethereal to sniff the packets going back and forth from tomcat and I verified that with a normal server.xml entry (remove the authentication attribute keyword below), it uses 'simple'
    authentication (clear text passwords).
    My original server.xml works just fine but now I'm trying to take it to next level and I found documentation (jdk-1_5_0-doc.zip\docs\guide\jndi\jndi-ldap.html)
    specifies that there are the following values:
    - EXTERNAL (RFC 2222). This mechanism obtains authentication information from an external source (such as SSL/TLS or IPsec).
    - DIGEST-MD5 (RFC 2831) is for Digest Authentication.
    - GSSAPI (RFC 2222) is for Kerberos V5 authentication.
    I wish to use GSSAPI to talk with Active Directory so I setup my server.xml with the following :
    <Realm className="org.apache.catalina.realm.JNDIRealm"
         debug="4"
         authentication="GSSAPI"
         connectionName="CN=Klotz\, Dennis,OU=myou,DC=company,DC=com"
         connectionPassword="myPassword"
         connectionURL="ldap://10.16.0.xx:389"
         alternateURL="ldap://10.16.0.xx:389"
         userBase="OU= myou,DC=company,DC=com"
         userSearch="(sAMAccountName={0})"
         userSubtree="true"
         userRoleName="memberOf"
    />And now I get a different type of error from Catalina.out:
    Oct 28, 2005 2:28:47 PM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardHost start
    INFO: XML validation disabled
    GSSException: No valid credentials provided (Mechanism level: Failed to find any Kerberos Ticket)

    .....At least the GSSAPI is being recognized! My next step was talking with IT; they suggested a c:\winnt\krb5.ini with the following contents:
    [libdefaults]
    default_realm = COMPANY.COM
    default_tgs_enctypes = des-cbc-crc
    default_tkt_enctypes = des-cbc-crc
    [realms]
    COMPANY.COM = {
    kdc = addy.mycompany.com:88
    admin_server = addy. mycompany.com:88
    kpasswd_server = addy. mycompany.com:464 default_domain = COMPANY.COM }And that I then execute:
    $ kinit DKlotz
    Password for [email protected]:mypassword New ticket is stored in cache file C:\Documents and Settings\DKlotz\krb5cc_dklotzBut as you can see from the previous tomcat error log that something is still missing. Do I need to move the cache file or do other commands so that the code within ldap.jar can use it?
    At this time tomcat never tries connecting to the LDAP server as it can't get out of the starting gate. I've got something wrong / missing from the Kerberos setup.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!!

    Ok I've made progress, whether it is backwards or not, I don't know yet.
    I've added :
    -Djavax.security.auth.useSubjectCredsOnly=false
    To my Catalina options environment variable in Catalina.bat.
    Now I get the error:

  • Out of the blue Itunes can't find a large qty of songs, with a twist

    The library has been in tact and functional for some time now until today. Itunes has lost location of a  large quantity of songs in my library. I have gone through the song location process at which point itunes asks whether it should locate all of the missing files in the same location. My understanding is that when you click yes it should look for the missing files in the proper directory and make the connection. What happens for me is that I get  the dreaded pinwheel and itunes freezes. I don't know whether this has to do with the latest itunes update, which I believe happened within the past week. At any rate, does anyone have any ideas about what the problem might be and how I can ultimately find all of the missing songs without a system freeze and without having to do them individually?

  • Help with java mapping

    PI File adapter has a processing option u2018Empty-Message Handlingu2019 to ignore or Write Empty Files. In case there is no data created after mapping on target side then this option determines whether to write an empty file or not. But there is a catch to this option when it comes to using it with File Content Conversion which is described in SAP Note u2018821267u2019. It states following:
    I configure the receiver channel with File content conversion mode and I set the 'Empty Message Handling' option to ignore. Input payload to the receiver channel is generated out of mapping and it does not have any record sets. However, this payload has a root element. Why does file receiver create empty output file with zero byte size in the target directory?  Example of such a payload generated from mapping is as follows:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns1:test xmlns:ns1="http://abcd.com/ab"></ns1:test>
    solution :
    If the message payload is empty (i.e., zero bytes in size), then File adapter's empty message handling feature does NOT write files into the target directory. On the other hand, if the payload is a valid XML document (as shown in example) that is generated from mapping with just a root element in it, the File Adapter does not treat it as an empty message and accordingly it writes to the target directory. To achieve your objective of not writing files (that have just a single root element) into the target directory, following could be done:
    Using a Java or ABAP Mapping in order to restrict the creation of node itself during mapping. (This cannot be achieved via Message Mapping)
    Using standard adapter modules to do content conversion first and then write file.
    can someone help with java mapping that can be used in this case?

    Hi,
        You have not mentioned the version of PI you are working in. In case you are working with PI 7.1 or above then here is the java mapping code you need to add after message mapping in the same interface mapping
    import java.io.FileInputStream;
    import java.io.FileOutputStream;
    import java.io.InputStream;
    import java.io.OutputStream;
    import java.util.Map;
    import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilder;
    import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory;
    import javax.xml.transform.Transformer;
    import javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory;
    import javax.xml.transform.dom.DOMSource;
    import javax.xml.transform.stream.StreamResult;
    import org.w3c.dom.Document;
    import com.sap.aii.mapping.api.AbstractTransformation;
    import com.sap.aii.mapping.api.StreamTransformationException;
    import com.sap.aii.mapping.api.TransformationInput;
    import com.sap.aii.mapping.api.TransformationOutput;
    public class RemoveRootNode extends AbstractTransformation{
         public void execute(InputStream in, OutputStream out)
         throws StreamTransformationException {
    // TODO Auto-generated method stub
    try
         DocumentBuilderFactory factory=DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
         DocumentBuilder builderel=factory.newDocumentBuilder();
         /*input document in form of XML*/
         Document docIn=builderel.parse(in);
         /*document after parsing*/
         Document docOut=builderel.newDocument();
         TransformerFactory tf=TransformerFactory.newInstance();
         Transformer transform=tf.newTransformer();
         if(docIn.getDocumentElement().hasChildNodes())
              docOut.appendChild(docOut.importNode(docIn.getDocumentElement(),true));
              transform.transform(new DOMSource(docOut), new StreamResult(out));
         else
              out.write(null);
    catch(Exception e)
    public void setParameter(Map arg0) {
    // TODO Auto-generated method stub
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    // TODO Auto-generated method stub
    try{
         RemoveRootNode genFormat=new RemoveRootNode();
         FileInputStream in=new FileInputStream("C:\\apps\\sdn\\rootNode.xml");
         FileOutputStream out=new FileOutputStream("C:\\apps\\sdn\\rootNode1.xml");
         genFormat.execute(in,out);
         catch(Exception e)
         e.printStackTrace();
    public void transform(TransformationInput arg0, TransformationOutput arg1)
              throws StreamTransformationException {
         // TODO Auto-generated method stub
         this.execute(arg0.getInputPayload().getInputStream(), arg1.getOutputPayload().getOutputStream());
    In case you are working in PI 7.0 you can use this code
    import java.io.FileInputStream;
    import java.io.FileOutputStream;
    import java.io.InputStream;
    import java.io.OutputStream;
    import java.util.Map;
    import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilder;
    import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory;
    import javax.xml.transform.Transformer;
    import javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory;
    import javax.xml.transform.dom.DOMSource;
    import javax.xml.transform.stream.StreamResult;
    import org.w3c.dom.Document;
    import com.sap.aii.mapping.api.StreamTransformation;
    import com.sap.aii.mapping.api.StreamTransformationException;
    public class RemoveRootNode implements StreamTransformation{
         public void execute(InputStream in, OutputStream out)
         throws StreamTransformationException {
    // TODO Auto-generated method stub
    try
         DocumentBuilderFactory factory=DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
         DocumentBuilder builderel=factory.newDocumentBuilder();
         /*input document in form of XML*/
         Document docIn=builderel.parse(in);
         /*document after parsing*/
         Document docOut=builderel.newDocument();
         TransformerFactory tf=TransformerFactory.newInstance();
         Transformer transform=tf.newTransformer();
         if(docIn.getDocumentElement().hasChildNodes())
              docOut.appendChild(docOut.importNode(docIn.getDocumentElement(),true));
              transform.transform(new DOMSource(docOut), new StreamResult(out));
         else
              out.write(null);
    catch(Exception e)
    public void setParameter(Map arg0) {
    // TODO Auto-generated method stub
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    // TODO Auto-generated method stub
    try{
         RemoveRootNode genFormat=new RemoveRootNode();
         FileInputStream in=new FileInputStream("C:\\apps\\sdn\\rootNode.xml");
         FileOutputStream out=new FileOutputStream("C:\\apps\\sdn\\rootNode1.xml");
         genFormat.execute(in,out);
         catch(Exception e)
         e.printStackTrace();
    The code for PI 7.0 should also work for PI 7.1 provided you use the right jar files for compilation, but vice-versa is not true.
    Could you please let us know if this code was useful to you or not?

    There are plenty of threads about boot-time optimisation, and a wiki page also. Please search/read before asking.
    Also, as you clearly intend to mess around with system-critical stuff like the kernel and its modules, I'd strongly recommend learning about it first, rather than just asking for a list of modules to remove.

  • Help with resizing adjacent partitions on mirrored drives - Solaris 9 V240

    Hi,
    I need some help here. I'm very new to unix administration. I am running out of space on my /var directory. I have a set of 72G disks that are mirroring each other. The /var is mounted on /dev/md/dsk/d5 which has only 262M available out of 5.8G. Meanwhile the partition adjacent to it /dev/md/dsk/6 which has the /opt/app directory mounted has 5.8G available out of 13G.
    Is it possible for me to take space from the slice 6 and give it to slice 5? How do I do this without loosing any data?
    Here is some info about my system:

    If this isn't possible, it looks like I have about 12G of free space. Partition 7 is only using from 11677-11685 while I could take it up to 11677-14086. I would then have to create the mirror metattach for that partition and then would I just unmount /var and remount it on the new /dev/md/dsk/d7? I'll need help with that. Then what would I do with the unused d5?
    A step by step response would be great! Thanks!

  • Help with setting up LDAP Client on Oracle Linux 6.4

    Hi,
    I'm having problems getting my Oracle Linux server setup as a ldap client and hoping someone can find where I'm going wrong. We have Oracle/Sun Directory Server 7 with Solaris ldap clients already setup with ssl. We are also using crypt for storing passwords. Here are the steps I have done on the Linux server.
    yum install -y openldap openldap-clients nss-pam-ldapd pam_ldap
    Edited the line FORCELEGACY=no to yes in /etc/sysconfig/authconfig
    Copied the CA certs to /etc/openldap/cacerts
    Ran: authconfig updateall enableldap enableldapauth ldapserver=zldap1.<domain> ldapbasedn="o=<domain>,o=isp" enableldaptls --enableldapstarttls
    Changed pam_password md5 to crypt in /etc/pam_ldap.conf
    Restarted /etc/init.d/nslcd and also tried rebooting.
    I'm seeing the following errors in messages:
    May 21 08:50:01 ryolinux nslcd[1261]: [c79ea8] ldap_start_tls_s() failed: Connect error (uri="ldap://zldap1.<domain>/")
    May 21 08:50:01 ryolinux nslcd[1261]: [c79ea8] failed to bind to LDAP server ldap://zldap1.<domain>/: Connect error
    May 21 08:50:01 ryolinux nslcd[1261]: [c79ea8] no available LDAP server found
    Here is what my /etc/openldap/ldap.conf file looks like:
    TLS_CACERTDIR /etc/openldap/cacerts
    TLS_REQCERT allow
    URI ldap://zldap1.<domain>/
    BASE o=<domain>,o=isp
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Copy cacerts to /etc/openldap/cacerts
    yum install -y openldap ldap-clients nss-pam-ldapd pam_ldap authconfig sssd
    authconfig enablesssd enablesssdauth enablelocauthorize update
    authconfig updateall enableldap enableldapauth ldapserver=zldap1.<domain> ldapbasedn="o=<domain>,o=isp" enableldaptls --enableldapstarttls
    Add line to /etc/sssd/sssd.conf "ldap_tls_reqcert = allow"
    Change /etc/pam_ldap.conf line:
    pam_password md5 --> pam_password crypt
    service sssd restart
