  • Dead pixel  or Dirt under screen cover?

    Hello,
I have one (1) dead pixel on my Ipod touch 4 gen screen, it is dead - due to it is always black, and never change it's position/color. Have checked it with some ipod app, changing colors, and "trying to" fix stuck pixels aswell.
After that - I sent Ipod for repairs, but the've sent it back, because thay said they couldn't find any dead pixels (probably checking with software?).
i'm not very keen on it, but it does a little worse, when reading books..
Maybe it is dirt under the cover of the screen, but indeed, I don't like it. So maybe there is a service (at my cost probably) to change the screen cover, due to the fact, that it has some marks on it (bought screen cover protector not so early).
Pictures showing the "spot", not so sharp though...

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance to everyone..

If you have an Apple store nearby, I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Yu can show them the problem.
This place will replace it for $80.

  • DIRT UNDER SCREEN.

well dust. under my Zen Sleek Photo screen how can i remove it ?

    # On the top of the player there is a crease between the white plastic peice/lcd protector thing and the player itself. Blow air with like an air compressor on that crease. It should move the dust/dirt out the way. Another thing is to lift that same plastic piece up with your finger nails( at the top of the player ). But in doing that you'll have to re-glue it. I've just blown my sleek and it works fine. But heres one tip to help prevent the problem: Don't Keep it in your pocket! Lint, dust, and everything else WILL get in the player. I suggest if you are carrying it in your pocket, put it in the included pouch. Oh and one more thing, NEVER put it in your pocket with headphones/earphones/audio plug inserted in the audio jack. That can break the jack. Anyways good luck!

  • IPod Touch has dirt under screen!!!

I got my first iPod Touch one month ago and I just recently got it replaced. The first iPod had quite a few specs of dust under the screen and the replacement one has the same problem. The replacement one has dust scattered all over the screen and there is some type of sand particle spot in the right top corner that makes it look like their are dead pixels. I looked at the screen under a microscope and confirmed that there are not any dead pixels. The spots I see under the screen are either some type of sandy material and or dust.
Is there any way to get this iPod replaced again with one out of box instead of them giving me one wrapped in PLASTIC!!!? Also, is there a way that I can get a refund on this item as it was a huge investment on my part. I don't want to have a product with a problem like this!!! I spent at least $420 on this iPod and it should not have a problem like this. I look at this part of the iPod every day, so it is a big deal! It is not a big deal if I get a scratch on the back. I look at the screen every day. I should expect for how much I payed for this, it should be FLAWLESS!
    Thanks for your interest,
    Timothy Z.

It is a normal occurrence for this to happen. At least every iPod comes with some dust under the screen. How much is under yours anyway. Apple only allows a certain replaceable amount of dust. If there are any damages to the iPod in any way, eg. scratches on screen or dents Apple will turn you down.
I know you are desperate for a new iPod. The iPod still works perfectly and you can use a matte finish screen protector to hide the dust and scratches you may have.
    Hope this helps,
    Timothy Z.

  • Refurbished iPad 3 - dirt under screen

    Hi all,
Last week, I bought a refurbished iPad 3 from the Apple Online Store and noticed a speck of dust under the glass. Initially, I had decided that it wasn't a major issue being only small, but as I've used it more, it's become more of an issue to me personally. Would I be able to get a replacement and could I go to my nearest Apple Store to do so quickly?
    Thanks in advance

Keep in mind you have two timelines with options.
Any product, new or refurb, purchased from Apple can be returned within 14 days of purchase for a full refund (and for any reason at all, or no reason for that matter).  iPhones are an exception as they get a 30 day return period.
Then you have your normal 1 year warranty, where your device will be repaired or replaced (well, actually with all iOS devices, Apple does not repair, they just replace).

  • I just got the new iPad and I've recently found little specks of dirt under the glass screen what should I do?

I found these unremivable specks of dirt under the new iPads screen what should I do?

Take it to an Apple Store for replacement.
     Cheers, Tom

  • Dirt Under 3GS Screen, Will Apple replace?

    Hey all,
I got my 3GS at launch and there is now alot of dirt under the screen, makes it a bit hard to see in daylight and gets really annoying. The rest of the iPhone is in PERFECT condition. Will Apple replace it? I live far from an Apple store so it is a pain to go and I don't want to waste my time. I had a 3G that I used for a year before the 3GS and never had a dust problem.
    Thanks in advance,
    Alex

So, for example, environmental things like being a construction worker and getting that road dust in the phone, yes technically it's not you putting the dust in but you have placed the phone in conditions that most likely will result in dust under the screen...
That or if you always put it in your pocket that is dirty or dusty or has lots of lint... if you end up getting lint under the screen that would still be considered user created.
Clearly not all blemishes can be avoided but the ones that are certainly due to the conditions you place the phone in are not typically covered.
Of course you could get a really nice Genius Bar tech

  • Dirt under 5800 screen

There is dirt under my nokia 5800 screen. How do I remove it?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Take your phone to a nokia care point and they will remove it for you.  It should be free if your warranty is valid.
Any attempt to open the phone yourself to clean it will void the warranty and may cause further damage.  We cannot help you with any of that here.

  • Dead pixel or dust under screen

I purchased ipad mini at staples.ca recently and just realized the screen has small factory defect, either a dead pixel or dust under screen. Seems just passed staples.ca's refund exchange period. what can apple do?

I would bring it to your nearest apple store or AASP and have them look at it.  We can not predict what Apple may or may not do.  good luck.

  • Dust under screen of Qosmio X500

    Hi
I purchased a Qosmio X500 from Saudi Arabia in april last year and Ive brought it to india where I currently reside. Last week while randomly cleaning my screen I noticed few specks of dust within (underneath) the lcd/led panel. This does not hinder my work on the machine, nor do I face any other performance issues. but the very presence of these dust particles beneath the gorgeous 18" screen is becoming an eyesore.
I hardly take the laptop outside or use in harsh or dusty environments. I have an EMEA warranty that's valid upto April 2015 and I was planning to ship the laptop back to Saudi Arabia to get it rectified. Any suggestions on this regard would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks and Warm Regards
    Dr Hidayath Ansari

    Hi
I've taken my laptop to the authorised service center in Jeddah and they claim that the dust under screen is completely my fault.
The technicians say that it will cost me 1600 Saudi riyals to get the screen replaced even though its under warranty which is really unfortunate becuase the laptop has never be taken out of the office and there is hardly any dust in the room.
Iam a very careful user and in the last two years there is no a single scratch on this device.
Is there any place I can sent a mail to escalate this issue and get it rectified at least under goodwill or even if I have to pay the service charges.

  • Dirt under my iPhone 5 camera lens

Recently, I found tiny specks of dirt under my back camera lens. Eventhough, it is not a problem to the camera at the moment due to the focus. I think that in the long run it will eventually appear visually visible on my pictures taken with my iPhone 5. Therefore, can anyone tell me how to fix it. Also, It seems that there is an opening somewhere that the dirt got into, so I wonder if apple will replace it cause I think that it's likely to be a defect.

They will fix it most likely for free. Technically dirt cannot get inside unless it was during the manufacturing process. Take it to the nearest store but call them first to set up an appt.

  • Dirt under iTouch Screen

    Hi guys!
My friend has just recently passed me his 3 Gen iPod touch, for me to use. I might buy it from him (he's the first owner by the way). Cause I am going into the military soon and I have my whole calander synced via iCloud and he has no use for it anymore. So I figured I might as well get a non-camera iTouch to keep my calanders in sync via iCloud as I wouldn't want to have a non-camera phone with a seperate calander, and a iPhone on my off days with another calander causing conflicts to my schedule and all.
Anyway, upon just using the iPod touch abit, I realized that there's some fungus or dirt that somehow got under the glass screen of the iPod touch. This along with a stuck or dead pixle. So I was wondering is there a way to replace the screen? Or get it cleaned? Also at what cost!
Here are some details that may help my situation too.
1). The iPod Touch is out of Warranty, so knowing that I'm willing to pay for a screen replacement or some service, if the price is not to crazy.
2). I live in Singapore, so I have no idea where's the Apple service centres here. But if there is I wouldn't mind going down there.
3). I wouldn't want to go to a 3rd party shop here, or rather those shady stores that offer "iTouch and iPhone repair serivces" I rather go to an autorized reseller or serivce centre to get my screen fixed up. Even if it cost more.
4). If need be I can get information about where the iPod was purchased, but the proof of purchase is probably gone already.
    Any help would be great!
    Thank you,
    Edwin

    - Apple will exchange it for this price:
Apple - Support - iPod - Repair pricing
    - A third-party place may be less expensive and some do clean the screen. Here is one, Google for more.iPhone Repair, Service & Parts: iPod Touch, iPad, MacBook Pro Screens
    - Do it yourself:
    iPod Touch Repair – iFixit
