normally its the binding for the attributes that you want to wire with the search field of interest. Are you talking about the cuastom search that you developer.. or the one in af:query?

UISearchBar: enable search button by default

Hi all,
by default the search button in the keyboard for a UISearchBar is disabled. The button is enabled after typing a single character. So when no characters are typed there is no way to dismiss the keyboard when not using a cancel button. Is there a way to enable the search button even when no characters are typed. I know I could use a cancel button on the searchbar but I don't really think this button is a great design. The App Store on the iPhone seems to have enabled the search button be default, but I can't seem to find the property to set on a UISearchBar to copy this behavior.

I'm not sure why there is no public access to the searchField member of
the UISearchBar, but it looks like you can get at it through the subviews. The
following works for me:

Enable/disable/defaulting the radio button in tabular Form

Hi friends,
I have one radio button column in my tabular form with 3 values for it.
<li>FC
<li>BC
<li>EC
I need to enable/disable the radio buttons according to the position of the user.
If the position of the user is CEO means,
then FC radio button has to be checked defaultly and also for him he needs to have BC and EC radio buttons to be enabled.
If the position of the user is between(1-4) grades means,
then FC radio button has to be disabled, but BC radio button has to be checked defaultly and also for him he needs to have EC radio buttons to be enabled.
If the position of the user is between(4-6) grades means,
then FC, BC radio button has to be disabled, but EC radio button has to be checked defaultly.
How i can achieve this radio button enabling/disabling and defaulting it dynamically according to the user.
Where i need to specify this kind of restriction inorder to work for me in my application.

Disabling\enabling up/down spinners button

I have a spinner which I want to limit when its reach a condition. For example, I have two spinners representing a range of dates, when the spinner reach the maximum date I want to disable the up arrow button of the JSpinner. How can I do it?

you would be calling a method on click of a button and once you reach the max date you can disable the UP arrow button this way...
jSpinner1.getComponent(0).setEnabled(false);and pass 1 instead of 0 to disable the down arrow!

When I turn off private browsing and refresh the page, everything works again.
Anyone else having this problem?

I have got the same behaviour after the last Safari Update to 5.1.3. It seems that Safari now handles some scripts in a new way. If you debug the Google Website, you will see, that there is some Javascript Error, that seems to prevent to write into local cache. After some searching I wasn't able to finde a solution for this problem, other then disabling Javascript while private browsing to prevent the script loading. You then are able to use Google with the old layout. The option to disable JavaScript can be found in the Menu "Developer", wich has to be enabled in Safari in the options first.
In my opinion this is a bug that is now occuring, because Apple changed something in private browsing and that has to be fixed by Google now, to run again. Or we will have to wait for 5.1.4, as you can read online Apple will change and bugfix the javascript engine in that version, perhaps this fixes the problem as well. I hope so!
If anyone is in the developer program perhaps you could test this with the beta of 5.1.4 and tell us if it works.

When I use the Norton Safe Search box in Firefox 3.6.19 the letters that I type group together and disappear behind the search button at the end of Norton Safe Search....any help?

I don't know how much more I can add...However, when I type in the Norton Safe Search box up to the search button in Norton Safe Search I can continue to type but I can't see what is being typed because it doesn't allow me to see the trailing end of what I'm typing. This along with the fact that the letters and words don't always automatically advance a space, they group together as I'm typing and I have to stop, provide a space and continue once again. This only happens in Mozilla Firefox, I'm using Firefox 3.6.19. This doesn't happen in the Norton Safe Search Box in Internet Explorer

Maybe another extension that you have installed is causing that problem with that Norton Safe Search add-on.

Where is controls palette search button in 8.20?

This is embarrassing! I rely heavily on the control and function palette search buttons. I updated to 8.20 and my control palette search button disappeared. The function palette search button is in its normal place. I've looked through Help and the Options popup but don't see a way to enable/disable the search button. I need it back!

Try to repair the labview installation.
Also check your LabVIEW.ini file for weird entries.

Automatic KM search with no input field and no "Search" button

Hello,
I would like to make an automatic KM Search ( a kind of iview that when it loads it doesn´t show the input query field, it just shows the results of a hardcoded query string, with no need of pressing the "Search" button).
I tried to do it passing parameteres to a com.sap.km.cm.basicsearch , for example:
"ConfigFileName=Navigation.xml&StartPage=SearchPage&Validate=false&QueryString=MARADONA&layoutSetMode=exclusive "
but :
1- you have to push the "Search" button to see the results
2- it shows the input field, so user will be able the change the string.

Removing the input field is slightly more complex.
1) Duplicate the UISearch Options set (from System Admin,System Config,KM, CM, User Interface, Search, Search Options Set)
2) In your duplicated Options Set, Show Advanced Options. Deselect the option to "Enable Further Search After Quick Search". Additionally, you might want to disable some if not all these options.
3) In your search iView, set the Search Options Set parm to the name of the Option Set you created in step 1.

Hi,
Normally, for the archiving or generation of the invoice document in PDF format is handled by maintaining the output records through VV31/VV32 with the relevant printer, storage mode ( 3- print and archive or 2- archive only ), no. of messages ( means no of copies ) in the communication method.
Then when you click the print button through VF03 in the print options pop-up you get a print at the physical printer and at the same time an archived copy ( PDF copy ) attached with the document.
So, please make sure the output records are fine to allow a PDF copy generated and then try to print and check in VF03 by entering into the billing document.

However, from the print preview you normally would not be allowed to save or print.

Enabling the save button

I was having a problem with an unbound item where if a user entered data into it and wanted to save, the save button on the menu was disabled. To get around this problem I created a post-change trigger for the unbound item where I used the set_menu_item_property to set the save button to enabled and this worked fine. I have another unbound item below the first one and I needed to do the same thing (eg. create a post-change trigger to enable the save button) but for this unbound item it doesn't work. When I go to the next item the save button remains disabled. Can anyone tell me why it works for one and not the other?

IH01: Search button not active

I am working on technical upgrade from 46C to ECC6. I am facing a problem in IH01, after executing the transaction, search button (binocular) is not active. Can any one suggest me what may be the possible reason & how it has to be activated.

Hi Ashok,
I think, IH01 is the transaction code for the selection page ie editing the inputs... (function location structure), there we need not to search anything whereas we need to input the various selections. Thats is the reason sarch button is disabled....
Once u input the data and transact, the buttons wil be activtaed.
In case u are looking for searching something specific, pls do let me knwo.

And I'm getting an error.
I have fields like :
Issue Summary
Issue Description
Identified By
Identified Date
Status (Values: Open, On-Hold, In-Process, Closed)
Priority
Target Resolution Date
Whenever the Status changes to 'In-Process' I would like to disable 'Issue Summary and Issue Description'.
Both the fields (Issue Summary and Issue Description) are being disabled when the Status changed to 'In-Process'
but when I click the 'Apply Changes' button I'm getting the error: 'Issue summary cannot be null.'
I do have a Not Null validation on Issue Summary field, but I'm only updating the Status field.
