Disable http access to report server

Hello,
I am using sql reporting services 2008.
I use report viewer control (inside aspx page).
i.e www.mydomain.com/report1.aspx (inside the code contains report1.rdl).
That's the only way I want users to access any report.
Currently, I can still surf into http://www.mydomain.com/reportserver, type credentials and view reports.
I want to disable it totally so that if I try to browse into http://www.mydomain.com/reportserver I will get 404 or 401.
How can I do that?
Thank you

Open "Reporting Services Configuration Manager", go to tab "Report Manager URL", click on "Advanced" and remove the port to listen on; or use a "non-Default" port different to 80

  • How to disable or rename Oracle Report Server servlet command?

    Hi,
    I'm using Oracle9i App Server R2.
I would like to learn how to disable or rename Oracle Report Server's servlet command?
This is to avoid user from accessing http://myserver/reports/rwservlet/showmap to view the key map file content.
    Please advise.

or example, my report server was rep_appserver, then i want to rename it to rep_test.
Here some step to accomplish it,
    1. stop mid-tier
    $ORACLE_HOME\opmn\bin\opmnctl stopall
    2. stop em website
    $ORACLE_HOME\bin\emctl stop iasconsole
    3. rename $ORACLE_HOME\reports\conf\rep_<old_report_server_name>.conf to something else or delete it
    4. rename $ORACLE_HOME\reports\server\rep_<old_report_server_name>.dat to something else or delete it
    5. edit $ORACLE_HOME\reports\conf\rwservlet.properties file then change the SERVER parameter to new report server name(remember this new name has to be a unique name)
    6. create a backup copy of the $ORACLE_HOME\sysman\emd\targets.xml file
    7. open $ORACLE_HOME\sysman\emd\targets.xml, find old report server name and then replace it to new report server name
    8. save new targets.xml file
    9. open $ORACLE_HOME\opmn\conf\opmn.xml, old report server name and then replace it to new report server name
    10. start em website
    $ORACLE_HOME\bin\emctl start iasconsole
    11. start mid-tier
    $ORACLE_HOME\opmn\bin\opmnctl startall

  • Error in Accessing the Report Server URL

    Hi All,
I am trying to access the Report Server URL in PowerPivot. But facing below issue .Can any one help me how can I solve the issue
    Thanks,
    Sid

    Hi Visakh,
Yes,The user is holding the permission as "Global User" in sql.Hope you help me in solve this issue
Thanks, Quality Communication Provides Quality Work. http://siddiq-sharepoint2010.blogspot.in/ Siddiqali Mohammad .
    Hi siddiqali,
According to the screenshot you posted above, the use account didn't have sufficient permission to open the report, please check the following prerequisites before you perform the action:
You must use a report definition (.rdl) file as a data source. Importing from a report model is not supported.
You must have permission to open the report under your Windows user account, and you must know the address of the report or the report server that hosts it. You can check your permissions by trying to open the report in a Web browser first.
If the report opens, it confirms that you have sufficient permissions and the correct URL.
Reporting Services must be version SQL Server 2008 R2 or SQL Server 2012. Those versions include the data feed export feature that streams report data in the XML data feed format. You can identify the report server by the Export as Data Feed option
that appears in the report toolbar when you open the report in browser:
    For detail information, please see:

  • Disabling anynomous access in directory server 5.2_Patch_3

    Dear All,
Would anyone help me out on how to disable anonymous access in directory server 5.2?
    Thanks,
    Lewis

Try removing following line from dse.ldif [of that instance of directory server]
aci: (targetattr != "aci")(version 3.0; aci "rootdse anon read access"; allow(
    read,search,compare) userdn="ldap:///anyone";)
If there is no exact match you will find a similar entry.. its at the begining of dse.ldif.
You can read more about aci in Directory Server Developer's Guide.
I hope this fixes you problem

  • Non Domain User Access to Report Server

    HI Team,
I am Back with another question. These days i am working on SSRS web services as a part of that i need to provide user access to non domain users to the report manager which is residing in a virtual machine and also when i use the report service web service
URL it is asking for virtual machine's windows credentials and as per my client's requirement i should not be prompted with VM'S windows credentials.
Also, we are providing end users with a login page and this login page is connected to a separate User's database  in the VM and how to register these non domain users in the report server database
and also reort manager. please help me out of this issue.
    Thank you.

    Hi NB515,
In Reporting Services, if we connect to Report Manager out of domain, then we need provide a domain username and password can we access to it. If you want to skip this step, you can configure anonymous access for the report server. However, anonymous access
is not recommended as it may give direct access to your report server or report projects to any one who know the URL of your Reporting Services. But in case you still want to try it, you can refer to the link below to see it:
    http://blog.quasarinc.com/ssrs/sql-server-reporting-services-2012-anonymous-access/

  • Error Message: The attempt to connect to the report server failed. Check your connection information and that the report server is a compatible version. The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found.

I have a web page that contains a ReportViewer control.  I am trying to display a report, which is an .rdl file located on the SSRS server, in this ReportViewer control.  I have set the ReportPath and ReportServerUrl correctly.  I am
    getting an error message.
Am I suppose to use an .rdlc file rather than a .rdl file?  Does the web server configuration need to use a certain account?
I am getting the following error message:
The attempt to connect to the report server failed. Check your connection information and that the report server is a compatible version.
The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found.

    Hi bucaroov,
The error "The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found." means the ReportServerURL configured in the ReportViewer control is invalid.
Please follow these steps to solve the issue:
    Logon the Report Server machine.
Open the Reporting Services Configuration Manager.
Copy the Report Server URL from 'Web Services URL'.
Logon the application server(in this case, it is the server that host the web page), check if we can use the URL we got from step 3 to access the Report Server. If so, please replace the ReportServerURL in the ReportViewer control with this URL. If it is
not available, could you please post the error message.
Additionaly, we don't need to provide the extension for a server report. The ReportPath should be like: /<reports folder>/<report name>

  • SQL 2012 R2 - SSRS with the Report Server Web Service URL, can't access

    Hello:
I am installing Dynamics CRM 2013.  When I am on RS Configuration manager; I am running into the SSRS (SQL 2012 on Server 2012)SQL issue, can't access the
    http://servername/:80/ReportsServer or
    http://servername/:Reports web pages
The database server has SSRS native mode installed, it is using a domain account for the service credentials.  This account also has permission to log on a service in the GPO
Account is a domain admin and is a local administrator
SQL server is 2012 R2 on Windows Server 2012.  User base is less than 60 people and they have SharePoint 13 on the same SQL server.  Server more than enough resources.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.
    Thanks..Dan

    Hi DCas1,
According to your description, you could not access
http://servername/:80/ReportsServer or http://servername/:Reports web pages from Reporting Services configuration manager, SSRS in configured in native mode and the account you used is a local administrator.
In Reporting Services, URLs are used to access the Report Server Web service and Report Manager. Before we can use either application, we need to configure at least one URL each for the Web service and Report Manager. If we are using the Reporting Services
Configuration tool to create or modify the URLs, we can accept the default values for a URL or specify custom values. When we create a report server URL, we must specify the following parts: Host name, port and Virtual directory. In order to improve the efficiency
of troubleshooting, I need to ask several questions:
Since the default URL is http://<computername>/reportserver, did you type the URLs manually? or the URLs configured in Reporting Services configuration manager are
    http://servername/:80/ReportServer and
    http://servername/:Reports?
Could you provide detailed information of error log(default location: %programfiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles)?
For more information about Configuring a URL, please refer to the following documents:

    Hi rmccabe82,
Generally, “actively refused it" means that the host sent a reset instead of an acknowledge when you tried to connect. As per my understanding, the issue can be caused by the process that is hosting the service is not listening on that port, this may be
because it is not running at all or because it is listening on a different port. Please try to ping ‘netstat –anb’ (requires admin privileges) to verify that it is running and listening on the expected port.
Furthermore, please make sure the user has permissions to access the report server.

  • Servlet calls to Oracle Report Server

I have an app server (oracle 9ias) which will be available to
    the public.
However, I also have an oracle report server that produces pdf
reports from an rdf template but the server will not be
    available to the public.
How can I use JSP,java servlets or other means to access the
report server from via the app server and generate the pdf
reports to the clients browser, bearing in mind that the client
has no direct access to the oracle report server?

In your JSP or servlet you can make a URLConnection to the
reports server, passing all appropiate paramters across in the
    URL ex/ http://reports_server/reportApplication/rwcgi60.exe?
    DESFORMAT=pdf&DESTYPE=FILE&DESNAME=outputname&server=servername&p
aram1=...&param2=... etc. you can place all the report
parameters and values and all the Oracle Report specific
paramters on the URL in the above format. After you open the
java.net.URLConnection with the appropiate connection, the
report is submitted, you can then get any error streams, or
    codes from the URLConnection API.
