Disable long text

Hi experts,
Iam working on Dialog programming.
I have created long text(container) using custom control.
When display mode i want to disable this container.
Can any one tell me how i can i disable?Is it possible using Loop at screen?

I would use the other method but this one should be ok too...
1. what values are you passing in the parameters
2. have you 'created' the txt object and it's parent container? ie.
for these object declarations:
data:     editor_obj type ref to cl_gui_textedit,
          editor_cont type ref to cl_gui_custom_container.
I had to:
create object editor_cont exporting container_name = 'C_TEXT'.
create object editor_obj exporting parent = editor_cont
        wordwrap_mode = cl_gui_textedit=>wordwrap_at_fixed_position
               wordwrap_position = 79
               wordwrap_to_linebreak_mode = cl_gui_textedit=>true.

Issue ith Long text in Quality Notification.

Hi All,
I have an Issue with Quality Notification long text change functionality.User reported that he can only append the additional text and can't edit the alaready entered screen. When I verified the config for the notification type it shows that 'Log line' check box have been checked and "No text" change Check Box Not checked. We need log lind and the same time user can edit the alkready entered screen. We are using Ecc 6.0 system.
Please guide me to fix that Issue.

you should check in configuration the part "Overview of Notification Type" (Quality Management>>Quality Notifications>>Overview of Notification Type).
When you select your notification type you go to "Format Long text" and there you can disable "No text change". This option is useful when you want to add text but don't want to allow modification of existing text.

I am not able to delete or change long text in quality notification since it is greyed out. Can anybody help ?

Allow modifications over "Long Text" in notifications until it's released

It is possible to allow modifications over field LONG TEXT until the notification is released??, I know you can disable a field in customizing but I don't know how to restrict the action just until the notification is released,

Disabling Predictive TEXT feature

Is there a way of disabling thepredictive text when typing? It's really annoying when the phone chhoses what you want to write, or rather misprexicts your intended word, causing you to waste time deleting and retyping.
Sometimes the text window obstructs view of the text you want to copy! Its really a bore and I need to know how its disabled!

Copy functionality which did not copy Long Text values causing us an issue

Two new Master Recipes created in Bathurst by using copy functionality in transaction C201 contained SRC value errors believed to be caused by changes in the copy

value fields and re-save the MRs, the issue is then resolved.

Hi.can anyone tell me how to set phone so that long text messages don't automatically change to mms.other phones I've had in the past have had settings where I can stop this happening automatically .I keep not noticing it's done it until it's sending, and it's costing me a fortune! Thanks

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
I'm afraid i don't know of any setting to change this. How long text messages you can write before a message is converted to MMS also depends on where you bought the phone (country and operator) as this is set on a local level and by the operator.
What you can try is to download another messaging application. I believe Handcent SMS have a setting that allows you to disable this.

Va02 long text

Hi All,
I have a requirement like i need to disable terms of payments long text if long text is available.
I know how to read that long text by using read_text function module but i dont know if text is there how to make the long text filed in non editable mode.Please let me know your views.

Promotion creation via BAPI - long text issue

I am going to use BAPI_PROMO_CREATE to create a promotion. Unfortunately this BAPI does not handle the long text piece of the promotion, and that is a requirement. Does anyone know of a BAPI that will create the long text for a promotion, or is there a generic BAPI for this functionality? I couldn't find one.

Database Table where modifications to message long text are stored (log)

As per manual correction mentioned in SAP note 1144291,
we have changed the long text for message XC092 by modification of the long text.
This note 1144291 is a pre-requisite for SAP Note 1310808.
After the notes were implemented, it is noticed that message CURTO1055 has incorrect information in its long text. This is because, the variable in the long text are not correctly defined in the long text.
Both the messages XC-092 and CURTO1-055 are SAP standard.
The error for CURTO1-055 can be rectified by modification of the long text and maintenance of the correct variables.
However, my question is:
Where do we check the log for document modifcation for a message long text.
I have found the logs relevant to my modification in table DOKHL and DOKIL.
But in which table do we get all of the foll. data:
- Message class
- Message number
- Modification name
- Modification created by
- Modification done on
- Last changed by
- Last changed on
Kindly help. A <removed by moderator> solution would be really helpful.

The modification changes would be in the SMODILOG table. Please note this is a core basis table and should not be changed, however to best find your changes search under the TRKORR field with the relevant tp request.

Can not see long text description of a characteristics in portal

Hi experts,
I designed two queries via Query designer and published them to portal but I can not see the the long text description of "Name" attribute belongs to 0BPARTNER characteristics.
One of the queries shows only the last name of partner in portal while it is showing full name and last name in Bex Analyzer. The other query shows only the key value in both portal and Bex Analyzer.
I want to see long text description in both queries.
For an additional information, I'm extracting data from CRM 5.00 to BW 7.00
What will be the reason for this and how can I solve it?
Can anyone help me for this issue, it's a kind of emergency situation.

we have the same problem.
We want to change only in the screen variable the hierarchy text (from default to long\medium text) but even if there's a possibility to do this, really it doesn't happen anything - it' s possible when you start query, in the selection screen inside every the variable there's a command "User Settings" in which manage what you want to see (I put display custom, as text, medium text).
I try to do this also in query analizer, selecting variable (hierarchy) and enter in this (user setting), changing in display custom as text - medium text, but even if I save this settings, really doesn't happen anything.
It seems the system isn't sensitive to this selection...
By now, if someone has an answer, please write us!

Creating a long text using ABAP code.. fm SAVE_TEXT

When you create an order via IW31 one of the options is to click on the text button and create a long text. I am basically trying to mimic this action from within my ABAP code.
The text id details are as follows:
Text Name 500000015000046 which is (5000000 + order number)
Language EN
Text ID KOPF Order header text
Text Object AUFK Order text
If i manually create the text within the transaction i am then able to view and update it via function modules READ_TEXT and SAVE_TEXT. But if the text has not already been created READ_TEXT obviously returns nothing as it does not exist and SAVE_TEXT does not seem to created it!
Anyone know how i would go about creating this text using ABAP code?

Long text doesn't fit the window exactly

Hi friends,
in PO smartforms i have included the header text of PO.
the problem is the long text doesn't fit to the window exactly i.e.,
when we enter the text in PO in the header a line can contain only 60 characters approximately where as in my smartforms it can contain more than that.
so in the display of smart form i get lot of space in the right side and i get the remaining part of text in the next line.
