Disable the Form

Hi ,
I want to disable the whole form.
How can i do it?
My Parent form has 1 Button.Through this button i called the child form.
I used "OPen Form " syntax to avoid "Calling form has unapplied changes".
But If i am in Child Form , i should not make any changes in Parent form.
If i use "Call_form" , this pbm is solved.
But i will get "Calling form has unapplied changes" error.
I can open the child form without Pressing SAVE. This is my requirement.,
can anyone Pls guide me how can i solve this ?

Hi,
For that make the second forms windows Window Style property to Dialog and Modal property to Yes. Then the user cannot go to the first form before exiting from the second form.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Manu.

  • If the javascripe is disable, the form would not submit

    Hi , I have a from, , collect some data and input into db, I want if the java script is disable, the form is on submit, or have other way to do the form validation?

    It's really hard to tell what your question is.
    If you're using struts, then the form beans can include validation, or you can specify validation in an external configuration file.
    If you're not using struts, I suppose you could do form validation outside of the servlet, say in a servlet filter, or in a different servlet that forwards to another servlet.
    It sounds like these would be basic questions. I strongly urge you to find a tutorial written in whatever your native language is.

  • How to disable the form after i click a link in WAD

    Hi All,
    I have a WAD template where there are a lot of hyperlinks and buttons present to enable the control to go to same or different templates. What I want to achieve is once i click on a hyperlink, the whole form should get disabled so that I may not be able to click on any other link until the control goes to a different page. I tried using document.form.disabled = true which though gives the look and feel of the form as disabled after click of the link but still doesn't stop me to click other links.
    I also tried document.form.getElementById("Id").disabled = true for the links but still the same thing happens.
    The above commands work fine if i use them outside WAD, but don't seem to work in WAD.
    Any thoughts?

  • How to unlock the Form Setting Window?

    Dear all,
                 I have one query.I want to lock/disable  the form setting window for normal user .
    If he will not permitted  to make changes to that form setting window.

    Hello Manohar,
    As Sridharan has replied, document settings authorization is what controls access to Form Settings when you are on a particular form.
    If you want to restric access to form setting when no forms are OPEN and when the user only has the Main Menu...then you need to use Additional Authorizations..
    PLease read this thread  How to set Authorization on Form Settings

  • Disabling the button in a form

    Hi,
    May i know how to disabling the button in a form based on value of item in same itself. For eg: In a form an Select list item called 'Flag' which holds the values like Y and N. If Flag is N means the Button called 'Check' will be disable otherwise no need to disable the button 'Check'. It is our requirement, please help me if any one know the solution.
    Regards,
    Neel

    Hi Neel,
    You could set the conditional display of the button based on a Plsql function returning a boolean.
    Something along the lines of:
    IF :P1_ITEM = 'Some Value' THEN
    RETURN TRUE;
    ELSE
    RETURN FALSE;
    END IF;
    This will not display the button at all unless the P1_ITEM is equal to the value that you want.
    This is the simplest form that will get you going. If you want to "grey out" the button to leave it visible but disabled then you would need to investigate this a little further. I have seen some other threads that would probably help you out here but am no exert on javascript so just have a poke around.
    Hope this helps,

  • Disable the email client selection prompt for forms

    Hello,
    I am wondering if you might help me. When hitting the "email to" button in a pdf form, by default the select email client window pops up.
    I have been searching in vain (sofar) to prevent this window from appearing in the first place (at first launch Adobe).
    I know I can check the "don't show again" checkbox from within the dialog box, but I don't want the dialog box to appear in the first place, because I don't want users to see it at first launch of Reader and don't want to have to manually (let the users) check the "don't show again" checkbox. I need to be able to deploy this settings (the mail client selection window to NOT show up) to over 100 users.
    Here is what I have tried sofar.
    Using free registry snapshot tool Registry Watch, I have identified the keys HKEY_Local_Machine\software\Microsoft\windows\Currentversion\Installer\Userdata\S-1-5-18\ Products\90401210900063d11c8ef10054038389c\usage\OutlookMapi2
    and HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Cryptography\RNG as changing keys whenever I turn on and off the show this dialog box.
    However, both keep changing to completely new values.
    If I manually enter the values of these keys to how they were when the dialog box was not displayed, it still keeps displaying the window. So it is not possible to hardcode these keys with a fixed value.
    When I turn the dialog box back on, the keys HKEY_USERs\"user"\software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\9.0\AValert , HKEY_USERs\"user"\software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\9.0\AValert\cCheckbox are deleted, but when I turn the dialog box off again from within Reader
    these keys don't return anymore.....
    So it is difficult to pinpoint a specific (set of) key(s) and particular values.
    Also disabling and enabling send mail api from within Reader, but this didn't help either (needed for email client to work from Reader in the first place).
    Looked for xml's or ini that might change after enabling or disabling the prompt, but none found, neither in my profile, nor all users profile, nor C:\Program Files\Adobe\....
    Any feedback wold be much appreciated.

    Try making sure your default email program is set under Edit > Preferences > Internet category > Internet Settings ...Programs tab in Acrobat.
    You can also try doing a Help > Repair Acrobat installation since you installed Outlook after installing Acrobat.

  • Disabling submit button after resetting the form.

    Hi. I'm new to JSF/Richfaces and there's something I'd like to do that I just can't figure out.
    Currently, I have a form with various fields to be edited, and the standard Submit and Reset buttons. The Submit button is disabled until a user changes a value on the form, and then I enable it using an A4J event. My problem is that I would like to disable the submit button again if the user clicks Reset. I'd like this to be completely client-side if possible, which I understand would require some javascript to implement, but I haven't been able to come up with a solution that works. Does anyone know how I could do this (with an example, preferably)?
    It's a pretty simple scenario, but here's the button code anyway:
    <h:commandButton id="submitButton" value="Submit" action="#{dataBean.submitForm}"
      disabled="#{! dataBean.pageEdited}" />
    <h:commandButton value="Reset" type="reset">
      <a4j:support event="onmouseup" reRender="submitButton" />
    </h:commandButton>

    I see, thanks! I looked up another example on using the DOM (I told you I was new!) and created the following javascript function, and it worked perfectly. I like that it automatically re-renders the button too so I don't need an A4J event.
    function disableSubmitOnReset(){
      document.getElementById('main_form:submitButton').disabled = true;
    }Definitely as simple as I figured it would be. :P

  • Disabling the 'Schedule' tab on the Reports Portlet Parameter Form

    Hi,
    I have deployed several Oracle Reports through Portal using the built in Reports Portlet Parameter Form and I was wondering if anyone knows how to disable the 'Schedule' tab located on this form. I would like users to run the reports but not to schedule them.
    Thanks

    Hi .
    I forgot to say that, the reports is an XML report .
    regards
    rajesh
    Hi.
    I am facing a problem with the parameter form in reports 10g. The number of parameters in this report are huge. After designing the parameter form , i save and close the report. Now if i re-open the report to do changes, the width and height of the parameter form is reduced (which i increased changed previously) and if i click on any field , that specific field is repositioning itself inside the (reduced)border lines.
    I request the forum to give a remedy on this issue.
    thanks in advance

  • Disabling Field Disables the Entire Form

    I am trying to disable fields in the 'User Library.xml' form depending on who logs in; unfortunately the code below disables the whole form.
    Any pointers on how to get out of this logjam?
    <Field name='global.login_desc'>
    <Display class='Text'>
    <Property name='title' value='Login Description'/>
    </Display>
    <Disable>
    <eq>
    <block name="loggedinuseraccountid">
    <invoke name='getUser'>
    <rule name='EndUserRuleLibrary:getCallerSession'/>
    </invoke>
    </block>
    <s>Administrator</s>
    </eq>
    </Disable>
    </Field>

    A little javascript should do it.
    function switchForm(form,flag){
      inputs = form.elements;
      for(i=0;i<inputs.length;i++){
        inputs.disabled = flag;
    }No need to go to the server for this one.

  • Is there any way to disable printing in adobe reader in the file menu and ctrl + P, but still be able to print with a button on the form?

    I am creating a form, but want to restrict the printing to function only by using a button on the form itself and not by using ctrl + p or the File menu. Is this possible?

    It is pretty hard to shut off a system level action like the "Crtl/Optn" + P print method. This is a system level feature because it is a standard in all applications. Think about what could happen if you turned off this feature in a given application and that application failed and did not restart this feature.
    Look at the "Will Print" document action. This runs no matter how the print action is started.
