Disabled accounts showing up under direct reportee in AD accounts

We are using AD server 2003. We use peoplesoft and oracle identity manager to sync user details with AD.
We are facing a problem where some of the disabled users have manager name in their 'direct reportee' field in AD. These user accounts are admin accounts and do not have exchange features (exchange account). Also, these admin accounts are not synced by peoplesoft or exchange (We do not keep records of these admin accounts in Peoplesoft). OIM does have details about these admin accounts and also has User Principal Name value for these accounts. The status for most of these admin accounts in OIM is disabled and their exchange account is 'revoked' (just ivestigated..if this information can be of any help).
If we clear the direct reportee field manually from these admin accounts..problem reoccurs after a few days..we do not want 'direct reportee' field to have any user's name in it for these accounts. We have consulted this issue in microsoft technet forum and were advised to contact OIM support.
Can somebody suggest what can be root cause.

That won't prevent the accounts from being on SharePoint, it will just prevent them from being part of the UPA sync. You could also throw them all in an OU and just de-select that OU from being synchronized. Don't forget to delete their user profile from
the UPA after you make the change.

    Why is Messages no longer showing up under my iCloud account in the "Internet Accounts" window?  I recently deleted it and added it back, but then Messages went away.  On my iPhone, it shows me logged in under my iCloud account and my cell phone number is synced with that iCloud account.  Yet, on my Mac it isn't showing up.
    I've already tried removing and adding the iCloud back several times.

    The Messages app is supposed to grab the information from the "Internet Accounts." Messages has always included the ability to separately add Google, Yahoo, AOL, or other messages accounts; but, it has always grabbed the iCloud account information from the "Internet Accounts" section. Except for now, when the Messages option has disappeared from the iCloud account under "Internet Accounts."

  • Issue in direct reportees for manager in MSS Team

    Hi all,
    I have configured my system according to the document Manager Self-Service (MSS) - MSS team view, managers who do not hold chief position prepared by Mohsin Syed .
    In MSS-> Team -> Employee information I am getting the direct employees even the manager is not chief.
    But my problem is same manager cannot see the direct reportes in other places say :  attendance overview , employee course assignments-> manage participants etc..
    see the screenshots : In the same page, no direct reporting employee for attendance over view , but there is for Team calendar.
    For the same manager, if he try to book for training, there is no direct reportees.
    What I have missed ..please guide me what to do..

    Dear Mohsin,
    In the Table TWPC_DAATAVWGRP,  I have created the new entry 'MSS_LAV_EE1. Assigned to group of Data views in "MSS_LAV_EE_DIR1".
    Then in Object and Data Provider -> Organizational Structure Views -> Group Organizational Structure Views,
    MSS_LAV_EE -> Assign Organizational view , I have added 1 more entry MSS_LAV_EE_DIR1(Direct Reports)
    Then In NWBC I have got a new option Direct Reports and under that I have got 1 person as Absent. but 2 person at work is not showing. Actually there are 3 direct reportees to him.
    this is 1 concern
    Under Working time->Attendance overview->Select Employees, it is like this :
    1 more thing.
    Under  MSS-> Team-> Employee course Assignments-> Manage Participants : For manager who is Chief can see all direct reportees and book training for them.
    For manager who is not chief are not getting the direct reportees so that he cannot book training for them.
    If I can retrieve the direct reportees here, then all issues are solved.
    Kindly help me with what changes I have to make in system.

  • Music in purchased not showing up under artist

    Basically my problem is that I keep one playlist to sync to my iPhone, because I only have the 16gb phone and I have way more music than that. So one particular album (that I purchased on itunes) would mysteriously not be there when I search by Artist. I then found out that if I go into playlist, under "Purchased" sure enough there it was, but it wouldnt show up under my other playlist, even though I put it there.
    So I went back to itunes, clicked on my iPhone, and had it sync to "Purchased" playlist in addition to the other playlist. Then I exited music and reopened it. Voila! There was the album, under artist where it should be.
    Apple, please fix this. Stop putting my music around where I never told it to be. If I put a song on my iPhone/iPod, it should come up whether i search by Playlist, Song, Album, Artist, etc. This is so frustrating.

    I found that I had to close and then reopen the Grove Music app after setting a specific folder/location on the WD My Cloud that contains the music files before Grove would actually populate the Albums, Artists, and Songs categories. One needs to make sure to point Grove Music to the folders containing the music via the "Change where we look" option, then click the Add Folder option (the plus inside a circle icon) on the "Build your collection from your local music files" dialog box. Its possible it may take Grove a while to catalog the files if there are a large amount of files. It might be better to map the music directory on the WD My Cloud to one's local PC and point Grove at the mapped drive instead. Here is an example. I don't have any music on my local PC at the moment. The albums found and listed are stored on the WD My Cloud. It should also be noted that the folder "Music" on the WD My Cloud is a private share ("Public Access" set to Off) that has the "Media Serving" set to On.  On a side note, its possible that when Windows 10 was installed it configured the network connection as a "Public network", or has has turned off "Network discovery", in which case it will block certain or all access to local network devices like the WD My Cloud.   • Why are disabled accounts synchronized to AAD

    I used the Azure AD Connector to set up WAAD Synchronization.
    I used the defaults.  Everything seemed to work fine.
    After synchronization I see that all of my AD disabled accounts exist in WAAD.
    Based on the default rules setup particularly the "In from AD - User AccountEnabled" rule I wouldn't have expected this.  Can someone explain to me why this is?  And how to remove disabled user accounts from WAAD synchronization.

    "In from AD - User AccountEnabled" is a rule that only applies to accounts with the ACCOUNTDISABLE flag set to off, it does nothing to decide whether to sync the object. If you want to exclude disabled user accounts, you need to create a new
    rule (or edit some existing one) following the instructions here:

    For example, this should filter out all the Disabled accounts:
    Log on to the computer that is running AADSync by using an account that is a member of the ADSyncAdmins security group.
    Open Synchronization Rules Editor by finding it in the Start Menu.
    Make sure Inbound is selected and click Add New Rule.
    Give the rule a descriptive name, such as "Filter
    out disabled accounts", select the correct forest under Connected system, User as the Connected system object type, and Person as the Metaverse object type. In Link Type select Join and
    in precedence type a value currently not used by another Synchronization Rule, e.g. 50. Click Next.
    In Scoping filter click Add Group, click Add Clause and in attribute select
    userAccountControl. Make sure the Operator is set to ISBITSET
    and type in the value 2 in the Value box. Click Next.
    Leave the Join rules empty and click Next.
    Click Add Transformation, select the FlowType to Constant, select the Target Attribute cloudFiltered and in the Source text box, type in True. Click Add to save the rule.
    Perform a full sync: on the Connectors tab, right-click SourceAD, click Run, click Full Synchronization, and then click OK.

  • My Ipod Touch Gen 5 will not show up in Itunes but it shows up under "My Computer" help!

    I have a new Ipod touch gen 5. It shows up under my computer but not under devices in the side bar like it should with Itunes 11. I'm running the latest firmware for my new Itouch and the latest Itunes. I hope I don't have to uninstall my itunes as I have ALOT of music on it. I dont wanna lose it all. I'm running windows 8 and followed the tutorial to a "T" to try to fix the problem but nothing worked. I did everything except the last step. Even checking my Computer for Updates (Itunes will not run if updates to my PC are needed). Help Please!

  • I am trying to download previously purchased music from iTunes, it show "purchased" in iTunes Store but does not show up under previous purchase tab

    There are several albums that I've previously purchased that somehow were deleted from my computer & iPad.  When I go to download available purchases on PC it say that all available punches have been downloaded.  When I check iTunes Store it show as "purchased".  When I try to check & download from iCloud via either iPad or PC these items do not show up under items purchased. 
    I can't even re-purchase the item, which I've tried since it shows as purchased in iTunes Store.  This is very troublesome because there is no way for me to access these previous purchases.  I have been using iTunes & various Apple products with the iTunes Store for several years & there is a lot of money invested in these previous purchases, that there is no way for me to access.  As mentioned, I'd even be willing to re-purchase some of these items (though this should be unnecessary).  But, the iTunes Store won't let me, because the items show up as purchased in store, but not on any of my devices!!!

    Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
    If, while searching through your past purchases, items are unavailable to download and show a "Purchased" button, they are still on your computer. It may be best to search your iTunes library by clicking Music, then use the search bar at the top right.
    If you are completely sure the items are no longer in your library, try signing out of the iTunes Store, and then back in.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

  • Previously Purchased Movie on iTunes No Longer Showing Up Under Purchased Items

    I purchased a movie from iTunes in November 2012 (Coldplay: Live 2012) and it wasn't showing up on my AppleTV Purchased movies section (wanting to use the iTunes Extra feature on recent AppleTV 6.2 update). I've checked other threads and it was suggested to check my account for Hidden Purchases. The movie I purchased does not show up under Hidden Purchases.
    I then checked Purchased items from the main iTunes page, and I don't even see the movie listed there, even though I have a record of the purchase through my Purchase History under My Account.
    Any suggestions on how to get this to show up under my Purchased items on iTunes or AppleTV?

    I am having similar problems buying movies. The rights issue occurs even if iTunes change or reduces the price of a movie. I now have to check my saved library of past purchases to confirm I do not already have the movie to avoid buying it again.The latest occurrence was fifth element. 
    It would be really useful if apple would allow you to download a full copy of your past purchases as it is no longer possible to rely on the iTunes store to match your own downloaded  content library and the current licenses it holds. This also plays havoc with genius recommendations for purchases.
    It would be nice if apple could buy Time/Warner or another media giant so we could break this monopoly of selling the same content over and over again by simply changing the format or metadata of a product.

    - recently re-installed Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 on my new Mac (OSX version 10.9.3)

    - every single time I want to scan, my printer/scanner Brother automatically chooses Adobe PDF 9.0 as printer/scanner, although my printer/scanner Brother is set as standard printer/scanner
    - did bring the issue under attention of Customer Service who directed me to this website

    Acrobat 9 has not been tested and is unsupported Mac Mavericks.
    You might face compatibility issues with it.

  • TS2972 Apple TV (2) works great with everything BUT iTunes on my computer, AND I can turn Home Sharing Off and On multiple times and NOTHING show up under "shared" and NOTHING shows up under Computers on Apple TV???

    My Apple TV (2) works fine with my iPad and iPhone.
    My iTunes syncs with my iPad and iPhone.
    I have turned "Home Sharing" off and on multiple times - of course using the same AppleID - and NOTHING shows up under Shared (and then Shared goes away) and NOTHING shows up under "Computers" on Apple TV?
    Why aren't Apple TV and iTunes smart enought to work with each other on the same network?  This should not be this difficult...

    I think I am having the same problem.
    My issue: since updating the software on ATV, I get an issue where shortly after starting a movie or video of some sort streaming from iTunes on my iMac the vid stops and Apple TV tells me that I need to connect to my Home Sharing account.  Sometimes I can fix it by turning Home Sharing off and back on in my settings.  Sometimes I need to completely reboot the AppleTV!
    Any suggestions???

  • Windows media player files will not play. I downloaded the plug in but does not show up under plugins. Why won't it load?

    Whenever I try to play a wmv file through firefox it will not load. It was not a problem a few weeks ago. Under plugins it is saying I do not have windows media player. So I tried downloading it using the troubleshooting directions from firefox. But it still will not show up under plugins. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • How to filter disabled accounts out of Dynamic Distribution Groups/Lists?

    As far as I understand it, OPATH does not support bitwise and/or flags, so excluding disabled accounts from dynamic distribution lists is impossible, unless I am missing something super simple.
    Many have found what they believe to be a valid solution by using -not(UserAccountControl -eq 'AccountDisabled, NormalAccount') in their filter, but this only equates to "anything NOT with a UserAccountControl value of 514 (integer)".  Simply
    adding "password does not expire" option on the account breaks that filter even if the account is disabled.
    Further, it appears anytime you create an OPATH filter, Exchange does create an LDAP equivalent filter that can be read, however it seems you cannot directly edit the LDAPRecipientFilter.  If I could, I could put in the necessary bitwise operation needed
    for this, e.g.  (!UserAccountControl:1.2.840.113556.1.4.803:=2), but it doesn't seem possible.
    Unfortunately I cannot rely on the ExchangeUserAccountControl flag as that relates to just hiding from Address Lists, and I have disabled accounts that need to be in the GAL.  Further I have active mailboxes for disabled AD accounts so I cannot use IsMailboxDisabled.
    Is this by design?  If so I don't understand why.  Are there any options (even with Exchange 2013)?

    I'm not sure what additional information I can provide that I have not already regarding the my suggestion/requirement, short of re-stating my original query.
    With Exchange 2003, we could simply exclude disabled accounts from dynamic distribution lists via the use of an LDAP filter that used bitwise logic against the UserAccountControl attribute, e.g.
    (!UserAccountControl:1.2.840.113556.1.4.803:=2)
    With Exchange 2007, direct LDAP queries were deprecated in favor of OPATH.  Unfortunately as a result, we can no longer filter out disabled accounts because OPATH does not support bitwise logic -xor -xand, etc.  Because of this we can no longer
    effectively use the UserAccountControl flags to exclude disabled accounts.  We can use this attribute by specifying explicit combinations of flags, e.g.
    UserAccountControl -ne 'AccountDisabled, NormalAccount'
    But because this attribute is a culmination of bits representing many different account options, there are a large number of combinations of values that could include Disabled Accounts whereby a filter such as above would NOT work.  E.g. simply adding
    an option to not expire the password on the account renders the filter above invalid.
    Currently our only option is to use workarounds which are not very effective (e.g. using a different attribute to store information about disabled accounts and filter on that instead).  As accounts can be disabled simply with a right-click in ADUC,
    enforcing the use of an additional attribute is not effective.
    I would like to understand why OPATH excludes this functionality, e.g. is it a design decision?  Or is it simply an oversight?  Further I'd like to see this functionality added.

    Today I noticed a PC computer icon showing up under the "Shared" section of the finder. The computer name was brn_921bc1. I immediately went into System Preferences and turned off file sharing. Is it really that easy for a PC hacker to come into my computer? Please help, as this seems to be a huge security threat.

    I doubt this is a hacker but you do seem to have an insecure setup. If you have your computer connected directly to a cable modem then you are essentially on a shared subnet with lots of other people Most of them aren't hackers -- probably none of them are. But this situation does leave you vulnerable which is why many people prefer to place a router in between their cable modem and their computer even if they are only connecting a single mac or pc to the internet.
    My first suggestion is that you turn on your Mac's firewall immediately. Open your System Preferences and type "firewall" in the search box. Hit return. When the firewall screen opens select "Allow only essential services". You should do this before you finish reading this thread.
    My next suggestion is to buy what's called a NAT router and stick it in between your cable modem and your mac as soon as practical. This will give you a far more secure setup than you can get with a software firewall alone. If you need help setting it up, come back here and I'm sure you can find the advice you need.
