Disabling the window close(x) button

Is there any way to ensure that the window does not get unloaded when the close button (x) is clicked or can we simply disable the close button?

As far as I know there is no way to differentiate between window closing events depending on their source.

How would I remove it completely, as in a minor version of setUndecorated(true) but only for the X button I can currently make the button do nothing, but how would i remove it.

I have looked into that myself, and the only thing I could find was somehow implementing some C++ or a language that could really specify stuff in Windows to do it. If you get any answers, I'd also be very interested. There is a way of truly getting rid of it, but this method would totally remove the window's frame. It also gets rid of the ability to move the window around by the click and drag method. This could be done by:
frame.setUndecorated(true);
Again, if anyone knows how to do this some other way or by implementing another language, I'd be glad to also know. Thanks!

hi all, i am writing an internet cafe management system, and its required that clients do not access the start button, although it will be visible but will not respond to mouse clicks or keybord events.
And also how do i disable ALT+TAB when my program is running.

Event if using vb.net it won't be happen (i think). Why do you want the client did not access the start menu? if you want the client canot access the control panel, why dont just you hide the control panel menu from start menu? (i dont know how to do that, but maybe a little googling will help). Because yesterday, i go on internet cafe and can only access the Program and Shutdown menu.

LMS Window Close (exit button...again)

Yes, I know this is a freq. encountered issue. I thought I had fixed this but apparently that was just wishful thinking.
If I publish my project with the full screen option, the lesson is opened as a child window and the playbar exit button works as advertised; the window closes.
If I enable LMS reporting and perform the same steps, the playbar exit button does not work.
What's up with that? What is it about the published SCORM version that disables the exit button?

Here is what I did to get the exit button in the playback bar to close the content window in our LMS. I did not want to have a seperate button object.
Your mileage may vary. I may be violating some SCORM rules but too bad. The trace shows the terminate is clean, as the code runs upon the unload of the content window. I do not have a quiz in my SCO/SWF.
File locations are as they appear on my laptop. I am using ActionScript 3 in Captivate 5 on Windows XP.
Backup app source files if you are skeered of breaking them.
1. Edit the playback FLA for the skin you are using. Mine is C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 5\Templates\PlaybackFLA\AS3\SpaceBlue.fla.
Edit the action code for pbcBtnExit. Add two lines in red:

2. Save and publish the playback FLA to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 5\en_US\Gallery\Playbars\AS3.
3. To include tweaked code every time you publish for SCORM, edit the HTML source code. The folder is C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 5\Templates\Publish\SCORM\2004, as I choose SCORM 2004 in the Captivate reporting preferences.
The file can be Custom.htm,Default.htm or SendTrackingDataAtEnd.htm, depending on what you select as the Template in the reporting preferences of Captivate.
Add this script in the header:

You may have to play around with the javascript to find the right opion that works in your situation.

There may be an easier way to get the Exit button to do this but I did not see it. I submitted an enhancement request to Adobe suggesting that the Exit button should be programmable to some extent.

Reader is malfunctioning on my computer. Whenever I try to open a PDF, the window closes 5 seconds later. This all started a few days ago when I tried updating the version of Reader I had. Since then I've had multiple problems or either not being able to open PDFs with any time of security on them, and now after I use the adobe cleaner and downloaded the whole program new, nothing opens. I tried this with XI (which is what I originally had the problems with), then X, and now I have 9.5 Same problem with all of them
PLEASE HELP!! I need to be able to view PDFs and digitally sign them for work!

Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, then double-click on Eula.exe and accept the license agreement
Can you open Adobe Reader by itself? If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
It could even be a malware issue; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html

have the same problem. the KB updates on mine are not installed. when i triied to install them manually, they say they are "not applicable for this machine".. i contacted Acer support several days ago and they basically told me they were going to push the upgrade out when it got close to the 29th. It's close to the 29th. When I bought my unit from Amazon, it avertised free upgrade to Win10. I hope we get the free upgrade

I can't reply to posts on any forum, website, or blog. I can open a reply window, but as soon as I click "post" the window closes. Any suggestions?

Started happening today, after the newest version of Mozilla downloaded (automatically on restart). Never happened before. It's not the mouse.
For instance, if I go to my favorite forum, open up a reply window, I can type a response just fine. When I click the "post button" the window closes. I can open the same reply window, but it just won't let me post my reply.
Just tried clicking on a response in the "This happened" window below, and guess what? I can't click on any of them......

No idea how to fix that. Try preview first, you will still have to post though.
If you can post sometimes before it fails, I would recommend --- forget the if, you'll need it anyway for mozilla sites, and occasionally for other sites.

The windows close automaticly every few minutes

since i updated the software of my computer the last time, it don't work properly. the windows close automaticly every minute during some seconds, while i'm working... the aplications not, but i lost the cursor, and the windows (finder) with the documents closed.
please if someone can help me...

I intend to disable the fully loaded transport button which will be seen in STMS in order to avoid the furture complications.
Can one suggest me the parameter name to disable this button.

TCODE STMS -> Select -> Systems
In the SAP System, click Configuration -> Change.
The screen Change TMS Configuration: System <System name> appears.
Choose the tab Transport tool.
The global parameters are identical for all SAP Systems in the domain.
To change a global parameter to a local parameter, you must delete the global parameter and enter the new local parameter.
The operating system is only displayed if values exist for this field.
Finally to remove the import all request (big truck) button from STMS
click the Insert Line (button)
Tick Global
Fill in Parameter = NO_IMPORT_ALL, Value = 1.

I have the same problem - every time I close firefox (using either the red x or by selecting file ---> exit) the program appears to close normally, but the firefox.exe *32 process continues to run. If I try to re-open firefox normally I get a message that the program is still running and I need to go into task manager and manually kill the process.
I could also kill the process from the command prompt, but both of those methods are slow and annoying. This issue has only been occurring for the last 24 hours or so; to the best of my knowledge I haven't downloaded any new software or updated any plug-ins that would have caused a switch from firefox's normal awesomeness. Norton doesn't show any new viruses or other nastiness on my computer.
I'm running 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium edition.
