Discoverer & Apps Custom Function 4i to 10.1.2 [APPS_SECURE]

Question

Has anyone tested the utilisation of the existing functionality in 4i and Apps 11i,
where we can create custom FUNCTIONs on the Apps MENUs, which allow us to create a function that initiates a link to a specified Discoverer workbook "Seamlessly" (ie. the user does not have to enter login deatils on Viewer or Plus when clicking on the menu lik for the report, as they are already logged in through the APPS_SECURE on the ICX) ?

In 4i we've followed NOTE: 278095.1.

Custom Function;
SSWA plsql function / Oasis.RunDiscoverer / Workbook=XXXXXXXX
Nothing new...
However in the NOTE, we see;
This note was written for Discoverer 4i. It may not work for
newer versions of Discoverer such as 9.0.4 and 10.1.2."
To identify if this had been done successfully anywhere in 10g (10.1.2) we sourced;
NOTE: 338654.1
SR: 4772051.992
BUG: 4589362
Here we verified the same functionality is viable, but we must ensure that the Discoverer and Apps install are on the same Domain.
select SESSION_COOKIE_DOMAIN from icx_parameters
So I guess it may require support to troublehsoot, dependant on customer site.
