Display a Help message

I'm using LiveCycle Designer ES4 and would like to show a help message for a one page form without adding another page. Presently, I'm using FormCalc's messageBox to show a 4 paragraph help message.
The message looks boring with "warning JavaScript" in the title and a beep when activated with a click Button on the form. In addition there isn't a way to change the fillColor of the messageBox. Is there a better way to display a message with more options for formatting/showing the message?
THanks

Hi,
in JavaScript you can use the dialog methods to create your own complex dialog boxes.
To make it easier to create those dialogs Bruce has created an editor you should check out first:

  • Removing help messages

    As I have an Office 365 subscription I have previously been using Skype without ads but now suddenly, I'm seeing the banner space used for displaying these help messages (see attached pic).
    It wouldn't be so annoying except they both animate in and change every few minutes, distracting my attention. And they are all for things I know how to do! I'm not a Skype newbie!
    If anyone can tell me how to block them appearing that would be great, and Skype, please don't show them if I'm not a Skype newbie!

    HI Jason
    First thing that can help in such situation is changing the EOIO for adapter engine
      1.      Call the following page: http://<host><port>/MessagingSystem/migration.jsp.
    The migration status is Never started.
    The system displays the logs that have their own event handler.
           2.      To start the change, choose Start Migration.
    You cannot interrupt the change.
           3.      To update the display, choose Refresh Status.
    With this Set up Archive and delete for adapter framework

  • HT5654 I performed the update to my iphone to get the latest version, but now it does not want to activate my phone and displays the error message that the activation server is not available. Tried itunes and no luck. help anyone

    I have an iphone 3gs of which I attempted the latest IOS pdate through itunes. Now, it shows the original start up screen and when it gets to the activiaton screen it displays an error message stating: Your iphone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable.  Help anyone??

    "We're Sorry, Activation Server Temporarily Unavailable, contact Customer Care?"
    99.9% of the time, the cause of this issue is the fact the phone was jailbroken/hacked to unlock it for use on networks other than the network the phone was originally locked to. Apple maintains a database of officially unlocked iPhones, and when Apple's servers detect phones such as yours, activation stops & you get the message you got.
    So, you need to get a sim card from the carrier the phone was originally locked to, or get it officially unlocked, if you want to activate it. Because it appears that it was not officially unlocked.

  • Display an alert message through javascript when report column item is null

    I have a report column item which is an select list item and now i want to display an alert message when value is null, I mean no value is selected, this alert message should be fired when update button is clicked.
    Can anyone please help me with this issue.
    Thanks,

    You could try something like this:
    declare
      x        INTEGER;
      err_ct  INTEGER   := 0;
    begin
      x  := 5;  -- number of rows displayed
      for i in 1 ... x (
        IF wwv_flow.g_f08(i)) IS NULL THEN err_ct  := err_ct + 1;
        END IF;
      end loop;
      IF err_ct = 0 THEN
         RETURN NULL;
      ELSE
        RETURN 'Nice error message: you must supply a value.';
      END IF;This would be used with a PL/SQL validation: Function Returning Error Text.

  • Display Custom Error Message in OIM 11g

    Hi,
    I'm trying to display an error message from a validation event handler but seems that am missing something. When the "oracle.iam.platform.kernel.ValidationFailedException" is thrown from a validation handler an error message is displayed: "An error occurred". If an error code is provided (see code below) then the message looks like: "An error occurred. The corresponding error code is ERR-0001". I guess that some resource bungle with corresponding messages should be provided.
    the code used:
    package test;
    public class UserGeneralValidationHandler implements oracle.iam.platform.kernel.spi.ValidationHandler
    @Override
    public void validate(long processId, long eventId, Orchestration orchestration)
                   throws ValidationException
    String errorCode = "ERR-0001";
    String message = "Simple validation message.";
    ValidationFailedException ex = new ValidationFailedException(message);
    ex.setProcessID(processId);
    ex.setErrorCode(errorCode);
    throw ex;
    Q:
    1.What is missing for complete solution?
    2.What is the algorithm that used by OIM to find default or non default resource bundle?
    3.How to change out-of-box validation messages? For a sample "The organization ABC does not exist." message is shown if non existing organization is provided during user creation and I'd like to have a different one.
    Regards
    Serge

    rename OIMUI.jar  to OIMUI.zip
    find logging_en and loggin.properties.
    Modify the "IAM-2050512" error message with your custom message
    Find Agent and agent_en.properties.
    Find Note[ERROR_SUBMITTING_REQUEST].text.  Modify the message. Make sure the message must be the same with in logging.properties("IAM_2050512")
    Deploy
    change the  OIMUI.zip to jar
    replace the existing OIMUI.jar
    login to weblogic  and redeploy OIM (oim.ear)
    no need to restart OIM server.
    Test:
    create a request in web console again, you must see the custom message when you hit the submit button
    hope this helps.

  • How to display the Output messages on LabVIEW

    Hi,
    I'm building a simple user interface on LabVIEW and I have the following question:
     - TestStand has an Output Tab where I display some messages using Engine.OutputMessage; How can I do the same thing on my UI?
    I've attached a printscreen of my TestStand sequence as an example of what I want do do on LabVIEW.
    I apreciate all the help.

    Sorry, from your post in the LabVIEW board I did not understand that it was the Output message that you were looking for.
    I thought you wanted the results from your test steps displayed on the user interface.
    It is the “Output Panel” in the sequence editor that displays your output message, but I do not know if there is default Output panel activeX indicator for user interface that the TestStand engine would update automatically like it does the execution view.
    Maybe someone else knows
    As also pointed out, the UI messages is your other option.
    The Output Message event number is 40
    http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/3879
    UIMsg_OutputMessages–(Value: 40) TestStand sends this message at periodic intervals when it holds references to output messages that calls to the OutputMessage.Post method queue. TestStand transfers the queued messages to an OutputMessages collection attached to the UIMessage.ActiveXData property for this event. An application that processes output messages should copy the output message references from the collection in UIMessage.ActiveXData to its own private OutputMessages collection by passing its private collection to the OutputMessages.CopyMessagesToCollection method. An application calls the Engine.NewOutputMessages method to create a private OutputMessage collection. TestStand generates this event only if the Engine.OutputMessagesEnabled property is True. Because there can be more than one handler for this event, the application should not modify the OutputMessages collection the UIMessage.ActiveXData property holds.

  • How to display a popup message in query (through process chain)

    Hi Gurus,
    I need your help.
    I have an input query that triggers an event (through a button) and runs a process chain.
    I would like to show a popup message to inform the user when the process chain is over.
    Using function modules I've been able to show popup messages in the workbench, but I want to display this message directly in Bex Analyzer 7.0.
    Thanks
    Gabbo

    Hi,
    I'm also looking for a solution to display a custom message in the Bex Analyser at logon.
    Using function module in the logon user-exit works but only when loggin to the workbench.
    I don't want to use SM02 (which works in both cases) because I need to display a variable message depending on the user.
    If someone has an idea, I'll really appreciate.
    Best regards and happy New Year to all of you.

  • Display picture in messages totally  pixelated when seeing it with yahoo messenger for windows

    Hello,
    I'm using messages to chat with my yahoo messenger account  at work and yahoo messenger for windows at home.
    When I log into Yahoo with messages, my yahoo display picture is updated automatically with the one I have choose in messages.
    My problem is that this picture is totally pixelated when you see it on yahoo messenger for windows. It seems that Messages is changing its size.
    As the size in Yahoo messenger for windows is bigger it appears pixelated!
    If I choose no display picture in messages, the one I have choose with yahoo messenger for windows disappear when I'm logging with it.
    Is there a way that messages do not update the display picture each time I'm logging to Yahoo?
    I suppose that there is no solution to this problem but I wanted to be sure.
    Anyway thanks for your help.

    HI,
    Thanks for the Path.
    This does seem to show all the Recents from the Contacts App > My Card, the Login Pic and the Messages Buddy List pic.
    I think in Mountain Lion these were either separate items  or the .plist that is in the current place listed the app/location the pic was used.
    I have looked at the pictures in the folder (.png and thumbnail .tiffs) and the .plist and it does seem to be all the pics I have used in all three places over the last few months.
    The Yahoo account is logged in not through IMAgent that FaceTime and Messages use for other Accounts but from the IMServicePluginAgent.
    In Mountain Lion this used to list a Buddy Pic server as well as a straightforward login.
    Using Little Snitch I am not seeing that in Mavericks.
    Seems you may have to change your Pic on a web page for your Yahoo account.
