Display a value based on Text value selected in the dropdown list

I am newbie in creating PDF forms.. I recently created a form patterned with Purchase Order Form sample that came along with the LiveCycle installation.. I can say I am doing good as I was able to create a functioning form with hours of triasl and errors. Now, I got stucked with my table calculations.. The first column is a dropdownlist with refreshment Items, the 2nd is the quantity column, 3rd is the unit price column and last is the amount column. After so many days and hours of trying to make the unit price display automatically after you select an item. I am not an expert in scripts or in PDFs for that matter.. Can somone please help me with my problem.. My dropdownlist is populated by script but by the object pallete in LiveCycle.

HiI have a report which runs on the parameter(SalesPersonName) selected. If I understand your report structure correctly - you have one Grouping on Actions. So could you not add another grouping on SalesPersonName above the Actions grouping that you currently have?So the new structure would be:G1 - SalesPersonNameG2 - Actions (current grouping you have) Whether or not you suppress or don't suppress the new grouping is your choice, but it will then force the ordering that you are asking about (assuming I understood)

How to capture the value selected in the drop down box

I am populating values in drop down box by using FM vrm_set_values in module pool.

in module pool drop down box element name is RQGM-VALUE.
Problem is what ever the value is select in the drop down box from above element RQGM-VALUE is not filling any value.
i need to capture the value selected in the drop down box and pass it to another variable.

Dropdown display changes based on user selection in previous dropdown list

I am really having trouble with this and spent a lot of time researching several blogs, tutorials, youtubes, etc. I just cannot get what I've found to work for me. I am creating a simple form in LiveCycle Designer 8.0. I have a table of 14 rows and four columns (row one is the header). Each cell in the first 3 columns contain a dropdown filling the thirteen rows. The last row is a user entered numerical field. My query is related to the second column's drop downlist (months1) containing two items (24, 38) and the third column drop downlist (hours1) containing 5 items (4,000, 6,000, 8,000, 10,000, and 12,000). In addition, there is a default item in each drop down set at <select>.
I would like to have the instructions and script needed that will display the correct list of choices to the users in the "hours1" drop down list based on what was selected in the months1 dropdown.
For example;
if the user selects "24" in the months1 dropdown, then the hours1 dropdown should display "4,000, 6,000, and 8,000" only.
if the user selects "36" in the months1 dropdown, then the hours1 dropdown should display "6,000, 8,000, 10,000 and 12,000" only.
This type of coding would be great to replicate in other forms I have been tasked to do. Thanks!

When I add the following to the change event of the first field and run it nothing happens. The drop down in the TeamsDrop drop-down field does nothing.

If I add all of the code to the change event without it being wrapped in a function it works. I can't figure what I am doing wrong.
I might add that I am creating the first drop down using a function in a variable and it works just fine.

Javascript needed - need checkbox to check automatically based on selected item from dropdown list

I am building a fillable form. In this form, I have created items in a dropdown list. Based on the item picked from the dropdown list, I need a corresponding checkbox to be checked. I am certain there is an easy javascript to resolve my current problem. Please assist.
For example: dropdown list field (SubSupplier1) -   Demolition                            export value 2
                                                                                Rough Carpentry Labor       export value 4
                                                                                Rough Carpentry Material    export value 3
I need the corresponding checkbox (SalesTax1) to automatically be checked when Demolition (export value 2) or Rough Carpentry Material (export value 3) is selected.

This should help you do what you need. Place it in the Custom Calculation property of the dropbox and select "commit selected value immediately" in the fields options:

The code is asking if the export value of the field is either '2' or '3' and if so, check the box.
Otherwise uncheck the box.
If you don't want it to uncheck on other selections, remove the 'else' section of code.

hi ...if the associated domain of the field that u are using as i.o field has value range the same will come as drop down list...u u select the list box option and click from dictionary check box on the attributes...
To check if the domain has it or not...go to the domain..click on value range..u can see thr,...if values are not thr u can giv the same...
Or if u are not refering to dictionary type then use fm VRM_SET_VALUes

By selecting the dropdown list a new empty browser tab is getting opened

When i try to pass the parameters in Bi report, by selecting the dropdown list a popup(new empty browser tab) is getting opened why is this so. Can anyone help me to sort it out.

If you have tabs on top and no menu then the tabs are in a "Windows" area so there is no space to right. If you put tabs back to the bottom you will have most of your old behavior but because of the changes to tabs on top most of the tab context menu stuff all of the context menu part was lost except the customize toolbar stuff, double-clicking on an empty spot was restored, and eventually during the FF 4 beta most of the tab extensions Firefox messed up eventually worked again except in the area to the right of the tabs.
The Windows part of that double-click has to maximize or restore to normal,
and you have to be able to drag the window by it;'s title bar.

Populating the 2nd dropdown based on value selected on 1st dropdown

I know that there is a similar post about this in the forum but it doesn't actually show how an event for the dropdown is created. I believe this would be a script that is done within the form (transaction SFP) itself, but could I please have an example please?
I did try to take a look at the standard ISR_FORM_SPTD form but there doesn't seem to be any scripts in this form.

It can be achievable with static tabs created for each LOV .But this is not recommended because , object values can change dynamically .
It is good idea to use section on prompt object in the report .With sections great feature available is in larger report it’s easy to navigate using map. It displays the section tree.You can select the particular LOV to navigate.

Grouping to display null values for all the missing dates

I am trying to display '0.00' value for all the missing dates in my crystal reports as follows:
17-Jan-14     40.00
18-Jan-14       0.00
19-Jan-14       0.00
20-Jan-14     80.00
However, my crystal report is showing as follows:

The missing dates with no data are group together and my '0.00' value is not. Kindly advise me the solution. The formula is shown as per attached.

The issue arise when when there is more than one missing dates in between but the null values ("0.00") displayed is only for the first missing dates and not for all the missing dates.

We have a parent data source "P" containing all the record types. Further we have two child data sources each having filters on exclusive record types(for ex. child1 containing record types X, Y, Z and child2 containing record types A, B).
In our page we have a result list associated with data source child1(record types X, Y, Z) and result table associated with data source child2(record types A, B). There exists common attributes among the attributes present in result list and in the result table.
Rest of the containers in the page namely search, breadcrumbs, guided navigation point to the parent data source("P") containing all the record types.
Whenever we select a value from the guided navigation using the common attributes both the result list and result table are getting filtered.
What we require is that, whenever an attribute(common attribute) is clicked in the result list, the data in the result table needs to get filtered based on the value of the attribute that is clicked.
Is this possible? If so, pl. suggest how.

Take a look at the Studio release notes for EID 2.4 http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E35976_01/studio.240/RELNOTES.txt a lot of little bugs like the one you describe have been resolved. If you haven't already done so you should upgrade to 2.4.
