  • 30" display screen images too BIG

    I am aware of changing resolutions in the display area of system prefs.
    I have read that some people have this issue, that their computer does not go up to the resolution it needs. My screen is awesome... but it looks like I am looking at everything through blurry magnifying glass.
    I bought it for my macbook pro, that has not arrived yet, so I am using it with my (older) G4 and the resolution only goes to 1280 x 800, I did order the dvi to video adapter for the for the macbook, but will this resolve my issue on this computer? If not, is there any sort of adapter cable I can get, it will be awhile before I purchase another computer... so I'd like to make this work for both. Thank you.

    So there is no adapter I can get to use with it? I kind of figured that once I went through everything.... to bad apple doesn't inform people of that before such a purchase!!!! On the description it says "PowerBook G4 with dual-link DVI support", so I bought a cable.... I am not a techy, so this should be made REALLY clear for a monitor that is just under $1800!

  • How to display the Image in PDF report by using iText Report

    Hi
    Im trying to display the image which is very big one.
    This is my code
    Document document=new Document();
    PdfWriter.getInstance(document,new FileOutputStream("imagePDF.pdf"));
    document.open();
    Image image = Image.getInstance ("1.bmp");
    document.add(new Paragraph("Images in PDF"));
    document.add(image);
    document.close();
    But the image "1.bmp" is displayed partially. Its not spanning to the next page.
    Can anyone help me to solve this one?
    Thanks in Advance
    dhilip

    Do you actually want the image to span multiple pages? I am not sure that will be possible without splitting the image; the itext mailing list would be the place to ask.
    You could make the the page size big enough for the image using Document.setPageSize()

  • Getting Acrobat to display raster images in pdf's "As Is"

    I hate the way acrobat resamples raster images on a monitor when it's not displaying it at its exact size. It looks like crap, not surprisingly, since it doesn't do resampling using opengl like photoshop does.
    Let's say I create an image for viewing purposes only (I just want a client to open a pdf and be able to view my work as is), I save it as a 900x700 pixel image at 72dpi, but when I open the pdf it will always upscale it even when I edit the document properties and select "actual size" on initial display. I don't want any resizing, as the only way to display the image in pristine condition is if it's showing at its native resolution (ie 900x700 pixels).
    Is there any way to control how a pdf will display an image on a client's machine? Or should I rather just build an offline web page and skip the pdf entirely?

    The format in which a bitmap image is stored has no bearing whatsoever on the size it appears on screen.
    Phillip Jones wrote:
    That may not be so helpful either. Because depending upon Monitor size anything on a web page is Contracted or expanded as well. Example what on say a 27" screen is going to look much different than on a 17"  If its saved as a Jpeg image you will always have this.
    If save as a PNG it will Remain the same shape and detail just get larger or smaller

  • Incorrect display of images in PDF on iPad

    I have a problem with displaying images in a PDF on the iPad. The PDF is created from a MS-Word file on a PC.
    On a PC, the images in the PDF display OK.
    On an iMac, the images in the PDF display OK.
    Only on the iPad, the images in the PDF display weird, see these pictures:
    First the correct image as it is diplayed on PC and iMac:
    And this is how it looks on my iPad:
    The text in the PDF is OK, it just that (some) images display faulty.

    it is possible that you transferred data to your ipod through my computer or something, that wuold not show up in the library or be accessable on your ipod but it would still take up space, for example i saved my whole cmoputer and all the files on my ipod drive for system recovery and it showed my ipod at full capacity with only 600 songs

  • XI PDF file displays flash images as  'Loading Data Please Wait'

    I'm trying to 'Convert Web Page to Adobe PDF'
    The web page I'm trying to convert contains Adobe Flash images.
    The PDF file is created, but when I open the resulting file instead of seeing the flash images I get the following
    I am using a trial version of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.

    The URL is on our intranet so won't be accessible. The url is
    http://hcdev.support.local:8080/apex/f?p=108:1:450638934290001::NO:::
    Adobe recognises the flash content when I right click on the flash content and select 'Save as PDF'
    When I open the resulting PDF file I can see the flash content has been captured.
    When I right click on the webpage containing the flash content and click on 'Convert webpage to Adobe PDF'
    When I open the resulting PDF file it recognises that there is flash content to display, but for some reason fails to display it.
    Adobe recognises the flash content and the way it is structured when I right click on the flash content, but Adobe is having problems either saving or displaying the content when I try to convert the whole page.

  • Displaying a dynamic image using a PDF file.

    I am trying to find a way to display an image dynamically in my report.  The image happens to be .pdf  I have Crystal Reports  XI and I have the graphic location formula completed "
    10.93.138.250\Production\ProdOut\00\" & {Order_Record.URN_text} + "_p1.pdf" however it tells me PDF is not supported.  Is there a way around this?

    I have to agreed that what you are saying appears to be true from my attempts at getting .pdf files to work dynamically.  Using .bmp and .jpg files seems to work just fine but not .pdf, .xls, or .doc.
    In the Users Guide, in chapter 16, in the section titled "Working with static OLE objects" - it only talks about the picture type formats you mentioned and metafiles.  Later in this section is where it explains how to make a static OLE object dynamic.
    While it doesn't specifically say it won't work for other types - it sure doesn't seem to.  I see no reason why this should be true however!  Certainly Crystal appears to be set up to allow this and the fact that the objects are not images shouldn't matter.  Why is there a picture tab and a conditional formula button next to the graphic location label on the object if it can't be used?
    I'm trying to do something similiar to Carey.  I have maps to customers in a customer list and they are in .pdf files.  The location of the map is stored in the database.  I'm putting together a report of service calls and I want to print the map with each call.  It looks like I'll have to convert several thousand .pdf files to .jpg - that should be fun!
    Any chance this limitation will be eliminated sometime soon...

  • Displaying JPG images in PDF report

    Hi
    We developed a report, wich generates modul documentation from designer repository. In the repository the JPG images are attached to modules. The images have different sizes. The report reads the modules description and displays the images attached to modules.
    The report resizes the images. Seems like the image wide is resized to fit perfectly in the containing frame.
    This behavior is god when we have a bigger image, than the containing frame. But if we have a smaller image than the frame, the reports enlarges the image.
    How can we prevent this behavior?
    Thanks

    I think for that particular image object in layout model, if you can set the vertical and horizontal elasticity to fix, the image will not resize.
    Thanks

  • Files with .png images create huge .pdf's

    I use .png images in PowerPoint presentations and these seem to create huge .pdf files. (...don't have this problem using .jpg images) For example, I have a 48 slide presentation that has a small .png image in the "slide master" so it will show up on every page. The PowerPoint file is 2.3MB, however the .pdf of it is 33.3MB, making it WAY too big to email, which was my objective.
    Any ideas on how to reduce the size of .pdf's which contain .png images?
    ...note that I "compressed" the .png images inside of PowerPoint prior to creating the .pdf, but this made no impact.
    Thanks,
    pm

    >I have a 48 slide presentation that has a small .png image in the "slide
    >master" so it will show up on every page.
    PowerPoint only has to store one instance of the image even thought it is
    displayed on multiple slides. But Acrobat can't do the same, the image has
    to be stored for every page that it appears on, so that would explain the
    larger file size.
    Acrobat is supposed to be able to optimize the storage of common background
    images (at least that's the message I see when I do a "Save as..."), but I
    have yet to see it to work. Maybe it depends on the application the orginal
    file is created in and the PDF conversion method used.
    Adding the image into a PDF file later as a watermark instead may be a way
    to keep the size down (then it really only does store the object once),
    though I believe that watermark images will appear in front of everything
    else on the page (not sure if that's a problem for you, it depends on
    whether any text or objects in the presentation ever appear in front of the
    image).
    What are the dimensions and resolution of the image in PowerPoint? You may
    be able to go as low as 75 dpi and not notice a difference, it depends on
    whether the image contains any areas of high contrast or text.

  • Problem with displaying BLOB images on JSP page using a servlet

    hi. I have a big problem with displaying BLOB images using JSP. I have a servlet that connects to the oracle database, gets a BLOB image , reads it, and then displays it using a BinaryStream. The problem is , this works only when i directly call that servlet, that is http://localhost:8080/ImageServlet. It doesn't work when i try to use that servlet to display my image on my JSP page (my JSP page displays only a broken-image icon ) I tried several coding approaches with my servlet (used both Blob and BLOB objects), and they work just fine as long as i display images explicitly using only the servlet.
    Here's what i use : ORACLE 10g XE , Eclipse 3.1.2, Tomcat 5.5.16 , JDK 1.5
    here is one of my image servlet's working versions (the essential part of it) :
                   BLOB blob=null;
              rset=st.executeQuery("SELECT * FROM IMAGES WHERE ID=1");
              while (rset.next())
                   blob=((OracleResultSet)rset).getBLOB(2);
              response.reset();
              response.setContentType("image/jpeg");
              response.addHeader("Content-Disposition","filename=42.jpeg");
                    ServletOutputStream ostr=response.getOutputStream();
                   InputStream istr=blob.getBinaryStream(1L);
                    int size=blob.getBufferSize();
              int len=-1;
                    byte[] buff = new byte[size];
                         while ((len=istr.read( buff ))!=-1 ) {
                   ostr.write(buff,0,len);
             response.flushBuffer();
             ostr.close(); and my JSP page code :
    <img src="/ImageServlet" border="0"  > If you could just tell me what i'm doing wrong here , or if you could show me your own solutions to that problem , i would be very greatful ,cos i'm realy stuck here , and i'm rather pressed for time too. Hope someone can help.

    I turns out that it wasn't that big of a problem after all. All i had to do was to take the above code and place it into another JSP page instead of into a servlet like i did before. Then i just used that page as a source for my IMG tag in my first JSP. It works perfectly well. Why this doesn't work for servlets i still don't know, but it's not a problem form me anymore . Ofcourse if someone knows the answer , go ahead and write. I would still appriceatte it.
    here's the magic tag : <img src="ImageJSP.jsp" border="0"  > enjoy : )

  • Why do images within a PDF look jagged when viewed in Acrobat Pro 10.1.6?

    Using a MacBook Pro running Mac OS version 10.7.5 with NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB graphics card. High-resolution source images look fine in other software, and embedded images in a PDF look fine when viewed on Google Drive, but curves and diagonal lines look jagged when viewed in Acrobat Pro 10.1.6. Checking smoothing options in Preferences only adjusts the position of the jagged edges; it neither enhances nor ameliorates them.
    I created a sample PDF to illustrate the problem I'm having. Created in illustrator, exported to PNG and converted to PDF. Here is a screenshot of the source PNG side-by-side with the PDF I created from it:
    Please note that when I preview the PDF in Finder, and when I view the PDF in Chrome using Google Drive, the image looks fine. Here's a link to the sample PDF:
    http://www.sendspace.com/file/77f5m6
    Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks!

    Unfortunately, as I mentioned in my original post, I've already tried toggling smoothing options. They don't make the jagged edges go away—they just change them slightly. In some cases, as with the sample file provided, it does help smooth the art out, but it never looks as good as it did going in, in a recent project, toggling smoothing options didn't affect the appearance of the image at all. Zoom does not appear to relieve the artifacting.
    A little clarification: this PDF was created from a flat PNG, but I have had this issue with PNGs and TIFFs as well, generated by both Photoshop and Illustrator. To reiterate, the PDFs display fine in other software—Finder preview looks great, and the same file viewed in my browser via Google Drive looks as intended as well. A colleague was able to replicate this issue in Acrobat on his Windows machine. This appears to be a rendering issue specific to Acrobat with regards to the files I use it to create.

  • HELP Trying to add a printable image to a pdf Acro Prof 6

    I've already spent 4 days too many on this project. I've been asked to take this pdf and create one identical for the company. It's a fillable form also so instead of trying to recreate everything from scratch I was able to edit the text and change over everything that I needed to, which wasnt much.
    Except.... I can not get our company logo on the top of the page. I have Acrobat Professional 6. Yesterday I finally thought I solved the problem going under Tools -> Advanced Commenting -> Attach -> Paste from clipboard. But because its just a "comment" when I go to print it wont show up.
    I've been told to just add an image to the Header, yet I am unable to figure out how... Once I'm under this section it only allows for Text, not an image.
    I'm really pulling my hair out here over this... If anyone can please tell me how to add an image to a pdf (which is a fillable form) that when printed will actually show up as well PLEASE HELP.

    I just opened the watermark tool in AA8. I don't have AA6 handy. It has a scaling and location on the page after I select a graphic file to import. It also shows a sample page so I can see how it will display. I do not remember how watermarks worked on AA6. Will try in a bit.
    For AA6, it looks like you can only put in a PDF file. In that case, use a word processor to create the desired result you want for the background (the entire page, not just the logo. Then create a PDF to use for the watermark or background. Open the watermark/background tool and insert your new PDF (not sure if you should use background or watermark - might give both a try and see if that does the job. At least it appears to be what my system suggests. You need to be sure you use the same paper size since AA6 places the whole page you create. You might be able to use other sized, but then you have to deal with centering and such. Unless you have time to play a bit, I would create it the one the same size paper as I have suggested and then it is one less thing to have to work out.

  • Pages 5.0.1 rotates images when exporting PDF

    In two sperate occasions I have inserted an image into a table cell, and also a shape.  I've scaled the image to the size of my liking.  When I exported the document to PDF (file > Export to > PDF) the PDF displays the images rotated 90 degrees and stretched to fill the size of the cell, or shape.

    I thought Pages 5 doesn't allow image insertion in Table cells?
    Has this changed in Pages 5.01?
    Either case it still seems buggy.
