Display Exceptions within BEx Web using individual icons/symbols

Hi Experts,
we have the requirement of our customer to display exceptions in a Web Template using individual symbols/icons.
This is what we have done so far: first we included some exceptions in our query (i.e. 1, 2 and 3) which are now displayed with different colours. Next several items were included in the MIME repository which are now displayed under pictures within Web Application Designer.
However it is not clear how these individual symbols can be linked to the exceptions we defined in Query Designer (further it is not clear if this is possible with Web Application Designer) . Somewhere I heard that this feature is to be implemented with SP17 but there's no hint at sap help portal so far...
Can anyone assist?? Thanks.
Brgds,
Marcel

  • Calling a webservice from within Bex Web Application Designer

    Hi
I have a web-template built with BEx web application designer which also contains textboxes. This text should be stored by calling a webservice (standard BI-documents are not an option).
Can anyone tell me how I could call a webservice from within the BEx web template to store the text contained in the textbox? The webservice-call should include some of the filter-varialbes of the web application.
Is this only possible by the use of a JavaScript WebItem? If so - does anyone have an example of such a JavaScript.
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Kind regards.
    Christoph

Thanks for your response. The BSP page would work out fine if I only needed to save the data.
But the next time I call the webtemplate, the textarea should be filled by another webservice call with the stored text (so the text can be modified und saved again). This will not be possible by calling a BSP page.
Do yoiu have any suggestions how to integrate the text (return value from the webservice call) into the textbox in the webtemplate?
    Kind regards.

  • Displaying Word documents on web using IFS

I am trying to display word documents stored in IFS on the web using the IFS Java API. The process we are currently using is outlined as follows :
    1. Connect to IFS using the connect() method of LibraryService class.
    2. Obtain references to IfsFileSystem object and PublicObject (using findPublicObjectbyPath() method of IfFileSystem class).
    3. Cast the PublicObject to Document class.
    4. Obtain a reference to the InputStream using the getContentStream() method of Document class.
Now, how do we display the contents of this document on the web ? Is there any IFS classes that do this for us or do we have to rely on the Java I/O classes to read the InputStream char-by-char and display the file ?
    Thanks

If you are trying to retrieve binary content through a customer Web client, you wouldn't write it to the browser - since the browser can only display HTML.
Instead, you would generate a Web page which includes a URL to the document (e.g. http://ifsserver/:81466, or http://ifsserver/public/mydoc.doc). Subsequently, when a user clicks the URL, the browser will request the document directly from Oracle iFS' http server. When the http protocol server returns the document content, the browser will determine its MIME type, and launch the appropriate viewing application or helper application automatically.

  • How do you pass a custom value on a BW iVew (BEx Web App Query String)

    Hi,
I am using a <b>BW Report iView</b> to display a report (BEx Web App) on a external facing portal. As part of the BEx Web App Query String, I need to pass the customer number. So, I followed the same procedure as the appIntegrator iView and put in the parameter <Custom.Customer number> as part of BEx Web Application Query String, which is supposed to get replaced dynamically with value from the UME by using the custom 'ParameterProvider' service we had written. But, it's not working here. We are using the same Customer Exits for 'ParameterProvider' on the AppIntegrator and it works there. The BW Report is bit different then the appIntegrator iView and I think I am missing something. Need some help to resolve this please. Thank you.

  • Selecting multiple values of characteristic in BEx Web

    Hello,
in BEx Analyzer (MS Excel-based) it is possible to select mutiple cells and select all of them as filter values.
In the following example the italic ones will be selected and filtered (right click and 'Keep filter value'):
    <b>Material no.</b>
    4711
    <i>4712
    4713
    4714</i>
    -> Result
    <b>Material no.</b>
    4712
    4713
    4714
For our scenario this function will be needed within BEx Web also. Background: Afterwards the selected values can be passed to the RRI (Report-to-Report Interface) and used as a filter in the next query.
    Regards,
    Daniel

    Dear bwuser,
Sorry, didn't got it. Within the properties of the web item I've found following values with regard to filtering:
    - Keep filter value (only applicable on single items -> not my case)
    - Fix filter values to axis (only applicable for charts)
    - Select filter values (opens pop-up -> not very user-friendly if you have a high number of single items e.g. more than 1000)
    - Filter and drilldown according to (only applicable on single items -> not my case)

  • Need more fields  to be displayed on a single page in BEx Web

    HI All,
I have developed a query in BEx Designer. This quer has 15 fields.
When i execute the query in BEx Web, it displays all the results. The problem here is that it displays only 4 fields data on a single page. I need to click on the next button at bottom right hand corner of the screen and it displays the next 4 or fields data.... again i need to click on the next button to check the remaining fields data. This is becoming a pain to check/validate the data displayed. Also the client is not happy about navigating so many screens to see all the data. he wants to see all the fields in single page.
Is there any way to change any settings so that all the fields / atleast 10 fields can be seen on a single page instead of clicking on the next button to see all the data.
Reports are developed on BI 7.0.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Maddy,
for this issue you can use WAD 7.0. There you can set the numbers of columns and rows which are displayed easily within the analysis item. You can also determine if you want to have scroll bars or paging tabs (like in Query Designer).

  • Display combined results of 2 queries in 1 BEx Web Report.

    Dear Experts
I tried to achieve this in just 1 BEx Query and found it difficult.
Then I ended up creating 2 BEx Queries getting partial result and then amalgamating both in WAD. Still I think there should be a way to achieve what I need from just 1 BEx Query. Below is what I am trying to achieve:
    Query 1:
Overall Result is the Total Number of Invoices restricted by 2 values.
Credit Invoices is the Total Number of Invoices restricted by 1 value.
% of Credits over Total Invoices = Credit Invoices / Overall Result
    Query 2:
I have created a Condition on 'Reason Codes' to pick on the Top N (3 in this case) to display the values in %.
All the CHARs and KEYFs are in the Rows Column only for both the Queries at the moment. When I am trying to amalgamate both into 1 BEx Query, the Query is throwing up errors and Execution is falling over. Another issue here is, there are 3 Reason Codes in the Third Place when I checked in ListCube and don't know what needs to be done. I am planning to discuss this with the Business Users if this should be extended to Top 5 instead of Top 3. Any ideas..!
Users want to see the final report only in Web Analyzer as they do currently (so BEx Analyzer & Workbook are out of question). But I will be using Web Templates eventually to bring together 8 (it will be 9 if this report can't be done in 1 BEx Query) BEx Reports.
How can I achieve this in just 1 BEx Query?
Thanks for your time in advance.
    Kind regards,
    Chandu

    Hi Suman
Thanks for your reply. When I am having both the parts of Query 1 & Query 2, the BEx Report is falling over when executed pointing to Condition.
The second Query will pick the Top 3 Reason Codes for a particular Customer and then the individual Document Count for these 3 Reason Codes is divided by the Overall Result (Document Count) to give the individual Result across each row as %.
Hope this is clear now. I tried Cell Definitions but didn't find it useful in this scenario, or I might be missing something. Can you please explain me in detail of how this can be done in 1 BEx Query using Cell Def?
Please let me know if this can be achieved in Single BEx Query.
    Thanks,
    Chandu

  • Problem with the icon "Display query on the web" in Query Designer

    Hi Friends,
I was told by my PM to give them all FI Modules standard business contenet reports, so for that reason i have installed all FI business content & loaded the data in the Dev Server, now i just want to show the reports, but i want excute these reports in Internet Explorer using the Icon "Display Query on the WEB" in query designer, when i click on that it isn't getting displayed in the browser.
the URL coming like this, "http://itcchqbd:8100/sap/bw/BEx?sap-language=EN&bsplanguage=EN&CMD=LDOC&INFOCUBE=0FIAA_C11&QUERY=0FIAA_C11_Q0001&VARIABLE_SCREEN=X&DUMMY=1"
getting the message in the page, the page can't be displayed,
How to solve this problem & how do i have to show the standard business content reports to all FI Superiors ?
    awaiting for ur answers
    Regards,
    Balaji

    Balaji,
first check if you have enabled web reporting on your BW server ( there is a how to paper for the same )
another way to check out the same is to find out if there are existing web templates being published which would make the server web ready.
As for FI content - activate the FI relevant areas in Business content and then activate the respective datasources and then load the data.. or go trough the best practices for BW-FI ( service.sap.com/bestpractices) wnd then activate the best practices for the same.
    Hope it helps.

  • How to increase the number of rows to be displayed in BEx Web Analyzer

    hi,
I am viewing reports using BEx Web analyzer option. It is displaying only 24 rows  of data at a time. How to increase the number of rows? do i need to any kind of settings?
    pls reply.

    Hi,
I think the standard template in 2004s is named 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN. You can find it in Web Application Designer, open, and search for the technical name. If you want to change the number of rows or columns, you can find this setting near the bottom of the XHTML view of the template:
    <bi:BLOCK_COLUMNS_SIZE value="4" />
    <bi:BLOCK_ROWS_SIZE value="17" />
Then just save, and ignore the error messages.

  • Transformer exception while transforming BEx Web templates

    Hello,
when opening the web application designer or calling a web template in the browser the error Transformer exception while transforming BEx Web templates occours. I found several hints in the forum like solving the problem with the SAP NetWeaver BI Diagnostics & SupportDesk Tool and several notes for this issue (like 937697). Unfortunately nothing works and the diagnostics tool says that everything is configured fine. The release is 701, SP4.
Has someone suggestions where to start searching the error?
    Thanks a lot,
      Vanessa

    Hi Vanessa,
Which JAVA patch are you using?
Is it possible to download the latest patches and re-test the problem? You may find that the latest patch corrects the roblem

ur questions 1 and 2 should be directed to portal administrator at ur firm..
as u r trying to change the lay out when user presses New analysis.
again in 2 u want to default the saving to favourites folders.
    3. if u save a view and later u try to open or run another query ..
for e.g. in ur saved view of query1 the time period is 1/07-12/07
now u r running some query x which has time 1/08-4/08
and now if u try to open ur view of query-1 then it will take the time period of 1.08---4.08
but if u open bookmark it will bring it to u the xact screen and xact time variables with which u save query1

  • Firefox sporadically won't display flash embedded within a web page.

I have Fiorefox 28.0, running on a Mac with Mavericks 10.9.2. Sporadically, Firefox won't display an embedded flash video. I tried running Firefox in Safe Mode (all add-ons disabled). Same thing occurs - won't display the embedded flash on some webpages.
Here is an example webpage in which this problem occurs:
    http://www.deadline.com/2014/04/nbcs-jimmy-fallon-and-seth-meyers-welcome-stephen-colbert-to-cbs-video/
I couldn't determine how to attach a file of a screen grab or I would have done so.
    Thanks.

I can't tell how far the player gets in loading. All I see is a blank white block of space where the player would normally be loaded. I used the term 'embedded' as that seemed the correct term to use. If incorrect, that's only due to my unfamiliarity with the correct terminology of having a flash video within a web page. BTW, I neglected to mention that the same page that Firefox has problems with is displayed fine in Safari. Screen grab attached showing blank space where Safari displays a functional plug-in.

  • BEx Web iView displays graph only after page Refresh

    Dear Friends,
I am facing problem in BEx Web application iView.
I am using the SAP Standard BEx Web iView template to call BI Report by passing parameter as below
    com.sap.ip.bi.bex?TEMPLATE=ZSD1_WR_TREND_HY
    URL is Link[http://<hostname>:52000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2fplatform_add_ons!2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?TEMPLATE=ZSD1_WR_TREND_HY]
The report got 2 graphical representations along with a table data.
Problem is the graphs displays data representation only after refreshing the page.
Infact the problem exists in production system and works fine in Development system.
When I checked from portal prospective I found no difference.
    Can anybody help on this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Lakshmikantha

    hi,
find the iview from the content administration menu in portal.
If you are using a standard role open the role
and trace the pages until you find the iview containing the template.
Open the iview and check the parameter Content-BW report.
At the field BEx Web Application Query String go to and and check the template name.
Go to web application designer and open the above template.
Change the parameters from the post above and save the web template as zXXXXX.
Change the web template at iview as well.
What i figured out is that bex handler has a problem creating an array when you are using same session for more than one charts.
When you use seperate sessions for each chart there is no need for array creation and works just fine.
*If you are using best practices go to Content Provided by SAP->Specialist->Best Practices and find the role and iview you are using.
    It should work..

  • Using of Bex Web Analyzer as Adhoc query?

    Hi,
can we use the Bex Web analyzer as a preferred tool for designing the Adhoc query?
    Points willl be definitely assigned.

    Hi Vasu,
You can create an appropriate ad hoc query to specify parameters for Web target iViews.
In logical SAP R/3 Systems of Release 4.6B or higher, transaction SPO0 contains an Ad hoc Query tab. This uses the concept of InfoSets, which are usually based on table joins or logical databases, to create abstract definitions for fields that the system can read. You have to enter parameters for the individual fields. The ad hoc query delivers values that can be passed to the portal.
Transaction SPO0 also contains a buffer for ad hoc queries. This improves system performance by avoiding the need to put together the query every time it is used.
You can delete the contents of this buffer by choosing Delete Buffer for AdHoc Query on the start screen of transaction SPO0. This removes the index entry and the generated queries from the system.
    Hope this will help you.
    Kind regards,
    Praveen
