Display first record in BEx

I have report in BEx where we want to find the first time a customer ordered Quantity of more than 500 in a data range (For Ex: From April 10 to April 30). In a particular date range the customer may order more than once (Qty > 500). The catch is we want display only one first time he ordered qty > 500.

Hello Jayant,
I don't think that you will be able to achieve this in BEx.
One option that can be explored is writing a VBA exit in a workbook.
The other one is using a virtual characteristic but that would mean quite a lot of development.

i think, you could use your date as a condition to filter by in your report... try looking that the properties of your KF and, under Calculations, set the 'Calculate Result as...' to the first value only.

Display latest Record First

Hi,
Could someone tell me where in forms builder you can configure the form so the latest record is displayed first in the application.
As an example i query someones name in the application and i'd like to view the latest record saved to that person (there is a join between people and my new table). At the moment my custom form returns the first record entered against them.

You will have to identify this record in some way, e.g. by an increasing primary key number, or a date_created column. Then you have to order by this column in descending order in your form.

Query not displaying all records when execute it first tme

Hello,
i have an issue with the WEBI report.when i run the report first time it's displaying only few records, but when i run the same report second time it's displaying the more records and it's correct.
Could any one tell me why it's not displaying all records when i execute first time.

Opening a form and displaying the first record

Any ideas on what the easiest solution would be to show the first record on a form when the form is opened? I've tried some of the ideas discussed in the FAQ section, but without success!!

Sorry, but there is no other solutions other than those described in the FAQ. I know that it is not very "user-friendly", but should work.
Also if you search the forum's archive there were some concrete examples posted.

Do this ,
in the main window - open a loop on your internal table ,
within the loop open the text and give the output fields,
after this text use the Command node and in this set the next page as page1,
so when the loop gets executed its first record will be on the first page and the second record will be on the next page and so on ..

Display one record at a time

i am trying to display one record from my database on my jsp page per time using next and previous buttons to navigate. I have tried to implement this by putting the resultset in a vector and then tried to tried to dispaly data with no success.Please somebody help ,i been at this for two days with no success.Could someone give a concreate example to guide me

Merge 2 internal tables into one and show first record from common fields

Hello PPl,
          I have 3 tables kna1 knb1 and knvp i have to join kna1 and knb1 on kunnr and move the data into an internal table it_data then on the basis of that data in it_data i have to retrieve records FOR ALL ENTRIES from KNVP and move it into it_knvp.
Then both it_data and it_knvp should be merged in it_alv and from that internal table report has to be displayed.
[NOTE: i had tried using loop twice but the report got messed up]
Apart from that for these set of values

The late days are calculated on basis of clearing date , due date which is not shown in output
Currently I have output as

I have posting date which user enters on selection screen.
Now this posting date I need to compare with clearing date

What should I need to do? I think that i miss some set up in configuration.

I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.2.3.0
I have two tables which has parent child relation among the both.
I dragged the parent table as a adf form on to the .jspx page.
Now if i am trying to delete fifth record in the parent table it is giving error message like "Table has child record, delete unsuccessful"
It is fine, but the control going to first record after deletion.
But i want to display current deleting record on the page if deletion is unsuccessful.
Can anybody help me to resolve the above one.

Asp code does not render for first record in looped recordset

I have posted this question on a javascript forum as it

How to select last record or first record value in a formula?

I am using a query in a report that in addition to other columns, has a column of month labels like:
There are no unique identifiers or sequence fields that can be used. There is only 4 columns: the label and 3 percent columns.
Jan07Feb07Mar07Apr07etc.
I would like to show the range of months I am using in a label on the report showing the last and first records value. like: "Jan07 to Jun07".
I can not see how to use the functions maximun or minimum since it sorts the months alphabetically.
I would like to use a formula to just grab the first and last record. I can't seem to find any information on this anywhere.

Hmm... I suspect what you actually want is the minimum and maximum dates in the report, rather than the first and last records (even if they do happen to come out in date order). So you need to convert the text dates to real ones, and then pick the min/max values.
If so, try these:
Formula "ConvertToDate" (for details section) which converts your text field into a real date - suppress it once placed!:

Formula "Show Date Range" (for anywhere on the report) to show the min/max values of the dates;
totext (minimum({@ConvertToDate})) + " to "+totext(maximum({@ConvertToDate}))
If, however, you really just want the first and last records, and you want it at the top of your report as a title (eg: in the Report Header), then I can't see how it can be done without using a subreport that looks at the same dataset, but only displays the first and last records (using the formulas below).
Stick this in the details section, and call it "HoldRecords" and suppress it:

Display multiple records as sub-sections in the same report.

I am using Crystal Reports (VS-2005).
In a report, I have various sub-sections in the Details section. Each section represents a category and is connected with SQL command which uses LEFT OUTER JOIN.
The first section is the main section and the subsequent sections are the child sections.
Sometimes, a sub-section (other than the first main sub-section) picks multiple records of that category. In this case the report extends to multiple pages. Each report displays one record of this sub-section.
I want to show the the same sub-section multiple times in the same report as opposed to multiple reports that are now automatically generated by Crystal Reports.
How to handle this issue?

Just mentioning "sections" doesn't give us a good idea about what you are attempting to do.

Triger for display next record in oracle forms

hai all,
i want to do
when new form opened i have to add new reord that is empty new form also my new rownum will be displayed.
now i getting first record.
like:
GROUP_ROWNUM:     1
GROUP_ID:      120130
GROUP_NAME aaaaaaaaa
need like:
GROUP_ROWNUM:     7
GROUP_ID:
GROUP_NAME
that can be done by
trigger for display next record in oracle forms?
or through property seting?

YES, this block is base on the DB table
through defualt navigational button i can go to next,last,new record
but i want create seperate form for new entry, in that i want to display
old rownum
formula to get rownum automatically (i am not at all typing it is system generated)
even though i created column group_rownum for rownum
(i can't be typing)
LAST_RECORD;
NEXT_RECORD; also not getting the next rownum
i hope now understand me
any posible way?
