Display Hindi Font Problem (Localization)

Hello Friends,
I have sucessfully implemented the localization in Flex 3. But the problem is only English, France languages are displayed well but Hindi Fonts are getting displayed as boxes.
Can any one help me to come out of this issue? I had searched on google also but yet not able to find the problem.
Waiting for quick response.

Hi,
First of all you can go through this link from which i had accompished the application.
http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/Flex_3:Feature_Introductions:_Runtime_Localization
As you said i might have not assigned utf-8 to hn_IN resource bundle but i had changed my whole application to UTF-8 and as well i had gone through each resource file and made them UTF-8.
And about glyphs, i had gone through internet and download few fonts having glyphs from (http://www.alanwood.net/unicode/fonts.html)
you can see in this link they specified JanaHindi(http://tdil.mit.gov.in/download/janahindi.htm),
DVBOTSurekh like fonts. I had installed all fonts in my OS.
Then i write 'charmap' command in Start->Run prompt.
After that i selected the JanaHindi from the language list and wrote the data that i want.
And then wrote those into resource file, placed in hn_IN folder.
One more question, when i going through the list of Encoding types in Flex Project Properties it is showing me two options UTF-8 and utf-8. Can i know the difference between them?
And there is no character displaying as ????, so i think there is no problem in that.

  • Code to display  hindi fonts in JComboBox in a JFrame

    Hi friends,
My mail id is [email protected] and please give response as soon as possible.
My problem:In java,my Jcombobox contents is displaying only english fonts like arial or verdena or timesnewroman
    My requirement:
I want source code or logic to display the contents in a JComboBox with hindi fonts or any other international language.
That means,by choosing the language font my Jcombobox contents should be changed to that corresponding language dynamically.
Note: I have used java internationalization with locale classes, but it is not working. please help me

You might try giving the file a ".txt" extension. Then drag it on top of your Safari icon in the dock, which should open it with Safari. Then, under "View", select a Japanese "Text Encoding". My guess is that this is Shift-JIS.
I am assuming you have not removed Japanese fonts from your system.

  • Displaying Japanese Fonts Problem

I am attempting to edit a RH7 HTML project created in Japanese.
I have Japanese fonts installed and the page displays correctly in the Design window. However, the fonts do not display correctly in the TOC window. Typically, 演算設定選択ワークフローブロック displays correctly on the page and in the Topic Title field looks like ‰‰ŽZÝ’è‘I‘ðƒ[ƒNƒtƒ[ƒuƒƒbƒN in the TOC. Whilst I can understand neither, the end user might notice.
    Does anyone know why please.
    Regards
    Steve

I would advice you to install a new mid tier with Japanese language.

  • Hindi fonts in java

i have read in books that java supports unicode and hence all the language charectors. i have the unicodes for hindi fonts. i want to write them in TextArea or JTextArea. but the problem is that when i use command append(""+<code>), i see some numbers in the textarea instead of hindi fonts. is there any way i can add hindi fonts to textArea? i am intended to use them in applet.

let me explain a bit. i want my applet to display hindi fonts when i put it online. if i use the setFont() it displays hindi fonts but the fonts MUST be present in my system ( i have hindi fonts in my system ). i want a more flexible way so that there should be no need of hindi fonts on user's system. i tried making an Font object of hindi fonts and saving it on the disk using ObjectOutputStream. but when i read it back on another system, it does not show hindi fonts. even i have tried directly supplying the unicode of hindi fonts, but nothing works. please friends help me! is there nobody to guide me?

  • Hindi font related problem in A6000 Plus

I bought a new phone A6000 Plus , but it is not supporting Hindi fonts . I search Google some things. And found that there is file missing "droidHindi.ttf" in fonts folder of system.
So is anyone knows how to fix it.

    Hi del.frost,
If you've already read through my article, you might not have found an answer for your more specific question. Though section 3 is pretty close to the same idea.
It certainly sounds like you've been around fonts long enough to know you need to avoid font conflicts. Being in the printing industry myself, I've had to make several permanent changes to my OS X work station so I can use the fonts I need.
You mentioned adding fonts to the /System/Library/Fonts/ folder. While not a crime, it's not good practice either. Except for a handful of reasons to dig into that folder, users should pretend it doesn't exist. Always use either the Fonts folder in your user account, or the global /Library/Fonts/ folder if you want all user accounts of that Mac to use the fonts.
Like you, I have to use different versions of Helvetica, Courier and a couple other fonts that are also supplied in .dfont format by Apple. The solution is to permanently place the versions you need to use in the /Library/Fonts/ folder and delete the conflicting fonts from the /System/Library/Fonts/ folder. You'll need to know the password for your Mac in order to remove anything from the System folder. Personally, I first made backup copies of all of the fonts I removed from the /System/Library/Fonts/ folder just so I'd have them. WARNING! Do not for any reason remove LucidaGrande.dfont.
So for you, remove the Apple supplied versions of Helvetica and Helvetica Neue from the /System/Library/Fonts/ folder and place your versions in the /Library/Fonts/ folder.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
The simplest way is to, on a PC (you cannot do this on MAC):
    1) Make sure you have a current and complete backup of your BB...you can find complete instructions via the link in my auto-sig below.
    2) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
    3) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed
    http://us.blackberry.com/software/desktop.html
    4) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
It is sorted first by carrier -- so if all you want are the OS levels your carrier supports, your search will be quick. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To truly seek out the most up-to-date OS package for your BB, you must dig through and find all carriers that support your specific model BB, and then compare the OS levels that they support.
Use this KB as your guide to finding the package that contains the language you need (if such even exists):
Article ID: KB05305 Localization support for BlackBerry smartphones
    5) Delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
6a) For changing your installed BB OS level (upgrade or downgrade), you can launch the Desktop Software and connect your BB...the software should offer you the OS package you installed to your PC.
6b) Or, for reloading your currently installed BB OS level as well as for changing it, bypass the Desktop Software and use LOADER.EXE directly, by proceeding to step 2 in this process:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC.
If, during the processes of 6a or 6b, your BB presents a "507" error, simply unplug the USB cord from the BB and re-insert it...don't do anything else...this should allow the install to continue. Further, during 6a/b, be sure you dig deeply into ALL of the selections available and ensure that you activate ALL that relate to your desired language...if you do not do this, then the language will not be installed to your device.
Good luck and let us know!

  • How to make my iPOD display thai fonts for thai songs?

    Hi,
I'm Thai customer bought ipod nano from authorized dealer and I wonder why my iPOD cannot display thai fonts in music play list. How to solve this problem?

Thank you for your advice. I just take a look and
didn't see Thai language in my iPOD -*- hope to see
some update to solve this problem from iPOD
    asia/thailand
The language capabilities of the iPod are clearly stated in the tech specs for the product:
    http://www.apple.com/ipod/specs.html
The languages for song display are more than just those for the interface.
Nobody knows if or when Apple will come out with new iPods that expand this to include languages like Thai, Arabic, Hebrew, Vietnamese, Hindi, etc.
