Display html button on JEditorPane

hello,
i'm building an html editor and i managed to display my tags on a JEditorPane, .... the problem is that buttons don't appear at all on the JEditorPane, can anybody help?

I tried it, and it was displayed...
(Be careful, use jdk1.4 (or >1.3)) many bugs were rectifiated.
ps:When i tried it, i used a JTextPane but i don't think that's the problem.

Hi all,
I am Editing an HTML Document in a JEditorPane.I've Noticed that The HTMLEditorKit has many flaws.
I tried to fill them by registering my own tag actions for some tags. Now the new problem that I am facing is how an html table is displayed : The cellborders ares not visible. So i can see the content of the table, but not its borders. What should I do to make them show out ?

I had some problems with using HTML Tables with JEditorPane (it's really flaky). What I found was you have to be very specific when you create the table. Meaning, the cells have to be set using exact pixel sizes, not relative sizes or percentages. This is a pain, but if you do that then it should work.

Problem in displaying html page in JEditorPane....

Hi All,
i was trying to display a html page in a JEditorPane. i was able to do that when i'm displaying a html page from a local machine.. But when i try to get the page from some website, it giving me
"exception access denied (java.net.SocketPermission www.java.sun.com resolve)"
exception. But if i run the same code thru JBuilder, its working. But thru appletviewer or thru IE or Netscape its throwing the error.. Any suggestion or help is highly appreciated....

Java Applets are very secure, what is good. Java applets are extremely secure
what is bad. So Applet cannot open TCP connection to any host rather than its
home host. So you cannot get the resources from any other server (what is common to
HTTP).
In JBuilder iit works cause JBuilder is used for development and security in deevelopment
is not an issue. But it confuses then you see.

yeh, yeh, i know the editorPane.setPage(url) function. the problem is that the file i need to display (help.html) is on local drive, in the same dir as the class with the editorPane. so what url do i make [i don't know in which dir the class will be]. i tried to make it relative: URL url = new URL("help.html"), but it didn't work. this:

Help -- How to display Html text in a JEditorPane

I'm trying to display html in a JEditorPane (html is obtained by transforming Xml and Xsl). So after i do the transformation i have a string which is the html source to be displayed. But when i use editorpane.setText(htmlString) method it is displaying the html source in the editorpane. I also tried using the HTMLEditorKit's read method. Even then its displaying the html source. But when i store the html source as a html file and give the editorpane, the url of the html file, it displays properly.
I would be so grateful if u can help in displaying the html (which i have as a string) instead of the source...

Hi, after struggling with problem, the solution seems to be to ditch the content type meta tag, JEditorPane seems to barf (silently!) on this...
So, to turn this off...
transformer.setOutputProperty(OutputKeys.ENCODING,"");

JEditorPane & HTML button tag

Hi,
I have a program the renders some HTML pages inside JEditorPanes. Everything seems to be rendered correctly, with the exception of the <button> tags. Buttons are not displayed, but in there place is an odd text field with the word "button" in it, surrounded by something of an arrow.
Has anyone seen this? A work around? I tried using the <input> of type button, but that just didn't display. Thank you.

You are correct. In terms of buttons, HTML 3.2 only supported type=submit, not type=button. I changed my code to this older(tho also still implemented in 4.0) format. Seems to work now, thanks a lot!
Unfortunately though, the type=submit does not have the attribute "disabled" which is what I needed to do.

Displaying HTML character entities in JEditorPane

Hi,
I have noticed that when displaying HTML character entity references in a JEditorPane it will show some of them, e.g. © for copyright symbol but not others e.g. ’ for "curly" single quote.
Is there any way to get JEditorPane to show all (most?) of them?

Create a class that extends ComboBox and override the
updateDisplayList and measureText functions. Then use that new

Memory leak in Jeditorpane.setText method while displaying html content

I tried to display a larger size html page using JeditorPane. But I found that there as a huge memory leak after JEditorPane's setText method was called.
Refering to the below code there was a difference of about 40 MB after the setText method was called.This does not happen if we display the page in rtf format.This finally results in Out Of memry error.

The html i am trying to display is similar to the one below.But the original content almost 10 times bigger than this html content and it has only td and tr tags. and for this file the leak is about 4 MB and if I use the file 10 times bigger than this it is 40M .
Any suggestions how to avoid this memory leak?

JEditorPane doesn�t display HTML special char. codes

My application is using JEditorPane to display text/html.
The problem comes when I try to display HTML special character codes such as
> JEditorPane ignores those codes and displays nothing.
Do I have to convert all those strings representing special characters?
How could I solve it?

Here's my solution - I replace the HTMLEditorKit if it's not the first pass through. I found that the EditorKit is an instance of HTMLEditorKit for every pass except the first (which doesn't have a problem).

Search for occurences of <img> tags in the stream and replace its src="" contents by for example src="image?id=orginatingimagefilenameorso" and write kind of an ImageServlet mapped on "/image*" which streams the right images to the response.
You may find this ImageServlet example useful: http://balusc.blogspot.com/2007/04/imageservlet.html
After all, why are you streaming HTML files through a servlet instead of just linking to them? Aren't they public accessible or so? If this is the case, consider creating a virtual host on the application server so that you can just access those files through a simple plain vanilla URL.

HTML Button use an image instead of Text

I have an HTML button in its own region called A_BUTTON, its current Button display attributes are
sytle: HTML Button
Attributes: name="A" class="where_clause_button"
what it does is i use a dynamic action based off the where_clause_button jquery selector and use javascript to update a hidden field. I would now like to use the Oracle Logo for example as the image of the button instead of using a text label for it. I tried adding to the Attributes src="http://www.oracleimg.com/admin/images/ocom/hp/oralogo_small.gif". When i run it the button still works the same as before but without the image and retains its Text Label, in this case its A.
the html it generates is for the button during runtime is:

How do i retain the functionality of this button but make it an image button?

How to display HTML file (on server path) to ADF jspx page ?

Hi Team,
We have a requirement to display HTML content which is in tabular format on a page. This page is jspx page based on page template and this html has to be shown on a radio button select. I am trying to do this with Jquery but since the id of all components in jspx comes as pt1:id (pt1 being the id of page template) and : being a special character in Jquery, I am not able to proceed further.
the syntax of Jquery to load html file a POC has been done outside Jdeveloper is working fine with a general syntax of
$("#selector".load("html path"));
Please let me know is they any other solution to load the file?

Send the request to a servlet, make it create the doc file, set the response MIME type and stream the file through the response's output stream to show it in the Office IE plug-in.

How to display Xml in a JEditorPane(in an applet)

Hi All,
I have an applet and i want to display xml in a JEditorPane in an applet. This xml document has a xsl attached to it for transformation. How can i do the transformation??
Help or sample code or link to a sample code is highly appreciated!!!!

Look this servlet which does a transformation. JEditorPane could call this servlet (with the method setPage) to do the transformation:
