Display live stream media in older players using MediaPlayback component
Hello,
Is it possible to preview stream encoded by Flash Media
Encoder 2 and fed to Flash Media Server 3 in MediaPlayback
component of older flash players?
Thank you.

P2P-based live streaming media data
In a P2P-based live streaming system , what should we do before transmitting media data to overlay net?What kind of transmitting protocol should be take?Is there a possibility to get the content from a
datasource which be transmitted by RTP?Chicago has a terrible new tax that went into effect on Wednesday...an additional 9% tax to streaming services (ie: Netflix) and to access data from a provider's computer (ie: research databases)http://www.chicagotribune.com/bluesky/originals/ct-chicago-cloud-tax-bsi-20150701-story.htmlfta: “watching electronically delivered television shows, movies or videos,” “listening to electronically delivered music” and “participating in games, on-line or otherwise.”...since the taxes will be levied based on Chicago billing addresses, there’s nothing to stop individuals from moving outside city limits or listing billing addresses in other towns. The same is true for businesses... anything that requires a user to do a search or make a request is subject to the taxEDIT: added link.

When to use FLVPlayback and when to use MediaPlayback component
Hi,
I looked at at the FLVPLayback component and the
MediaPlayback Component and I wonder when one should be used over
the other? Any experienced designer out there that can tell me?
thanks
-MalenaHey, My problem with using flvplayback is that SOME windows
vista computers, and i seriously cannot figure out exactly what it
is but they will play the flv very choppy and so i had to use
mediaplayback and it works fine on all computers that i have tested
it on. it was VERY annoying because my client kept attempting to
watch video from his computer and it came through as garbage and
when i watched it, well it was perfect. so i tested it out on
several different computers and operating systems and found that
certain computers were just not compatible. I am assuming they were
just not up to date? i dunno, i have a mac, dont have those
problems :) -
RTMP Live Stream does not resume with Spark VideoPlayer Component
Hi all
The Flex 4 framework brought along the VideoPlayer component, which supposedly can automatically choose the best stream in terms of bitrate from a list of available multi-bitrate streams, play live videos and everything.
See http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flex/using/WSc78f87379113c38b-669905c51221a3b97af-8000.html for some information about it.
Here's a working example for an MXML application under the Flex 4.1 framework:
<s:VideoPlayer width="100%" height="100%">
<s:source>
<s:DynamicStreamingVideoSource streamType="live" host="rtmp://88.87.56.214:1935/live/">
<s:DynamicStreamingVideoItem streamName="euronews_tmo_h.stream" bitrate="19200"/>
<s:DynamicStreamingVideoItem streamName="euronews_tmo_h.stream" bitrate="9000"/>
<s:DynamicStreamingVideoItem streamName="euronews_tmo_h.stream" bitrate="3600"/>
</s:DynamicStreamingVideoSource>
</s:source>
</s:VideoPlayer>
The streams are valid and they play. However, I'm bumping into a problem when the stream is paused: it will not resume.
The player state alternates correctly between 'playing' and 'pause' when you keep clicking the play/pause button. However, once the first stream pause(or stop) occurs, the image and sound seem to freeze...forever.
Any help ore guidance are most appreciated!I'm also facing the same problem.. Any developments in that ?

External MP3 files causing long delays (using MediaPlayBack component)
I've got 5 MP3 files that I am calling (on click) to be
played. They're large - about 15MB each. The Flash movie is
intended to be distributed on a CD. However, when I launch the
movie (Flash Pro with Slides) it takes a long time (30-200 seconds)
before the first screen will show. Sometimes Flash displays the
"actionscript is taking a long time..." message. When I remove the
slides that play the MP3 there is no slowness. Also, when the MP3s
cannot be found the movie has no delays.
I converted the slides back to a timeline-based movie. This
eliminated the up-front delay, but now the delay appears when I
click on the button to play the MP3.
Any ideas?I noticed that streaming is not working from CD... Instead
all the file is loaded first, and that's why you've got
delays... -
Dear all
I work with live streaming for a few weeks, using flash.media.Camera and flash.net.NetStream class. I have not found any place where the codec is specified, that is used to encode the live stream.
Anyone knows which codec is used and if there is a possiblitiy to use H264 codec for live streaming? I found that live streaming with h.264 codec seems to be possible with the flashmedia encoder (http://www.adobe.com/products/flashmediaserver/flashmediaencoder/). Is this possible with flash player alone?
Thanks for your help,
MarcAfter doing some research I found this thread http://balazs.sebesteny.com/implement-h264-live-streaming-with-adobe-air-20/. It uses FMLE but other open source tools perhaps would be better because of licensing issues.
It would be really nice if encoding with h264 would be enabled with flash player. Now that decoding works with Hardware acceleration, perhaps encoding will come as well. Any plans exist?
Thanks,
Marc -
Re-Start a Live Stream using AMS 5 through Cloudfront
We have AMS 5 running on an Amazon EC2 instance. We send a Live Stream from an FMLE encoder using H.264/AAC.
If we do an Origin Pull from that instance running the AMS 5 and Live steam through one of our commercial CDN accounts, we can stop and re-start our Live stream without issue. It stops and re-starts as it should. When we re-connect to the AMS using FMLE, using the Origin Pull, the stream re-starts in either the OSMF or JW Player 6 in under 30 seconds.
If we use that same AMS 5 on the same EC2 instance and Live stream through an Amazon Cloudfront distribution, if we stop our Live stream, when we re-start the stream it takes an unacceptably long time for the stream to refresh - if ever. Basically, after the re-start of the Live stream through FMLE, the Live stream at the player plays the first 10 or 15 seconds of the intial Live stream and then stops. If you refresh the player, it will play that same 10 or 15 seconds again - and stop again.
It would seem that the AMS 5 is setup correctly. It works through our commercial CDN.
It also would seem that the issue is with the cache on Amazon Cloudfront. Our assumption is that the Cloudfront cache is not properly updating. But we have tried about every variable in every setting for Cloudfront that we can find. We can't get past this.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
As a followup to this discussion, you can follow the issue through the AWS.Amazon forums at https://forums.aws.amazon.com/thread.jspa?threadID=120448&tstart=0We also have other threads going.
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1180721?tstart=0
https://forums.aws.amazon.com/thread.jspa?threadID=120448&tstart=0
There appears to be 2 different issues - one issue with Amazon Cloudfront and a second issue with Adobe Media Server. Unfortunately, they are tied together in the real world application of these programs.
In AMS. when we use the adbe-record-mode=record, then the AMS works fine because the AMS is clearing the streams on each re-publish. Unfortunately, this causes a status code error on Amazon Cloudfront. And that particular status code error from a custom origin server causes Cloudfront to "override the minimum TTL settings for applicable cache settings". As the programmers explained, basically what happens is that Cloudfront overrides our 30 second cache settings and goes into a standard cache setting of 5 minutes. And waiting 5 minutes to re-start a Live stream just doesn't work in the real world for real customers.
We can fix that Cloudfront status code error issue by using adbe-record-mode=append on the AMS. If we use that AMS setting, then we can stop a Live stream, re-start the stream, the Cloudfront cache clears and everything works - unless you also change the stream settings in your FMLE. If you stop the stream and change the video input or output size in the FMLE, then the AMS server gets stuck and can't/won't append to the f4f record file.
Does anyone have any ideas about how we can adjust all of this so that it works together?

Help understand Visual Communicator Live Streaming
Up to know I run live streaming through our Steaming server using FMS and Flash Media Live Encoder as we only needed one camera for live video feeds.
We are looking at the ability now to use 2 live cameras and also the ability to snap in pre recorded video during live feeds and also provide lower third titles.
I am looking at:
Adobe Visual Communicator 3
Wirecast 4
CutFour
All of these provide the possible live switching I need.
I'm at the moment looking at the Trial version of Visual communicator and I am struggling getting my head around a few things.
I can hook up 2 -3 Sony A1 HD cameras in SD no problem and running it though FMS is fine. During test streams clicking on the cameras using the mini switcher is straight forward.
howevr I am struggling to work out how to do the following:
Add prerecorded video clips to Camera 3? ( in the Setup Tab it says " No Camera found - please connect a camera or replace with Photo or video Clip) How do I replace with a Video Clip?
How do I add premade titles, so that during the live feed I can put lower third titles in?
Finally, How do Provide an intro looping video to play before the live feed starts?
Any instructions would be appreciatedHi there
The forums are user-to-user. The older incarnation of the forums used to have a disclaimer on each page. Now there is one that appears at:

Live stream - buffer and replay
Hi,
i have this issue, which i'm pretty sure isn't feasible, but my boss insists that i give it a try, so here we go:
i've developed a video player being used by a commercial TV channel, both for its VOD and live stream. all the video content - live & VOD - is supplied via external CDN, over which i have little (or even no) control.
what we're trying to achieve now, is while the channel's live stream goes on commercials break, to display our own (website's) ads. we can tell when the break begins and when it ends, but we cant' know in advance how long it'll last.
so our plan is to start running our own ads as the break begins, and when it ends - in case the ad is still running, buffer and 'record' the live stream, so when the ad ends the player will display the live stream, but from when its commercials break ended, with a short delay.
is such a thing even possible? i mean displaying live stream with a deliberate delay?
thanks in advance for any thought or idea,
eRezHi,
One way you can do this is to use php script to identify the user agent of the client (http://php.about.com/od/learnphp/p/http_user_agent.htm) and then generate dynamic webpages based on the client (HLS for iOS based clients and HDS for flash based clients). As Apache can only serve static webpages, you'll need to use CQ/MySQL/something else. I've personally not attempted to do so, but this may be a good starting point : http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/linux/tutorials/l-php/
Hope this helps.

RTMP Live Streaming Works, HTTP HLS/HDS Streaming Doesnt
I am running Flash Media Server on my Windows 2008 R2 server, and am trying to get HTTP live streaming working. I am using Flash Media Live Encoder to stream to the server. I can get a basic RTMP stream to work without issue, however anytime I setup to stream to a basic HTTP live stream, I get the generic "We are having problems with playback. We apologize for the inconvenience." in the basic Flash Media Playback player. I can confirm the stream is being published to the server in the Admin Console using the livepkgr application successfully, and I can even get an RTMP stream to work when it is streaming to the livepkgr application.
Here are the FMLE settings I am using to publish the stream:
Stream URL: rtmp://184.69.238.58/livepkgr
(yes, thats my IP, the stream is live continuously, test for yourself!)
Stream Name: livestream?adbe-live-event=liveevent
my embeded html for viewing the stream is as follows:
<object width="640" height="480"> <param name="movie" value="http://fpdownload.adobe.com/strobe/FlashMediaPlayback_101.swf"> </param> <param name="flashvars" value="src=http://<myipgoeshere>/livepkgr/liveevent/livestream.f4m"></param> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param> <param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param> <embed src="http://fpdownload.adobe.com/strobe/FlashMediaPlayback_101.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="700" height="500" flashvars="src=http://<myipgoeshere>/livepkgr/liveevent/livestream.f4m">
While this gives me the error, the RTMP version (publishing to the livepkgr) works fine like this:
<object width="640" height="480"> <param name="movie" value="http://fpdownload.adobe.com/strobe/FlashMediaPlayback_101.swf"> </param> <param name="flashvars" value="src=rtmp://<myipgoeshere>/livepkgr/livestream"> </param> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param> <param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param> <embed src="http://fpdownload.adobe.com/strobe/FlashMediaPlayback_101.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="700" height="500" flashvars="src=rtmp://<myipgoeshere>/livepkgr/livestream"> </embed> </object>
Can anyone explain to me what is happening here? I need HTTP streaming so I can eventually handle multi-bit rate streaming. Is there any further configuration beyond the standard "out of the box" FMS installation I need to consider on my server? There are no firewall issues at play here as all ports for standard streaming are open.I had about 2 hours of downtime last night to move my server. Try again? It will be live all day.

Cannot get HLS Live streaming to work
I'm struggling to get things going on the HTTP live streaming side.
I'm using FMLE 3.2 w/ Flash Media Server 4.5.
Format: H.264
Frame Rate: 29.97
Bit Rate: 800Kpbs
Profile: Main
Leven: 3.1
Keyframe Frequency: 4 Seconds
I'm streaming to:
FMS URL: rtmp://hostname/livepkgr
STREAM: livestream?adbe-live-event=liveevent
I have verified the stream is working by connecting via flash to
rtmp://<HOST-NAME>/livepkgr
livestream?adbe-live-event=liveevent
I can't get the stream to play in iOs/Safari. I've been trying using the instructions via this doc (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/devguide/WSd391de4d9c7bd609-52e437a812a3725df a0-8000.html)
If I try to access the following file: http://<HOST-NAME>/hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream.m3u8 I get FILE NOT FOUND.
Looking on the FMS machine under /opt/adobe/fms/applications/livepkgr/events/_definst_/liveevent is see no files other than Event.xml and Manifest.xml
So...it seems like no stream is being created in the livepkgr. What can I do to troubleshoot?#1 Fails (see below)
I get a 404 not found.
http://<HOST-NAME>/hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/Event.xml
http://<HOST-NAME>/hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/readme.html (test file I created)
Sounds like the hls-live alias isn't working? Off to check Apache. That alias is supposed to be set up by default isn't it?

Live Streaming from Video File
Hi everyone,,, im newbie in programming streaming video with flash....ater reading documentations i tried the instructions on doc, i got a question that i've not been solved. How to make a "live streaming" from "video file". It likes a live streaming from camera but it uses video file as the source.... many thanks
Do you mean you have video file but you want to publish it as live stream , am i right? If yes following is the solution, but before that let me clarify you will need server to do it , i mean there is no way Flash client (i.e. .swf file running in Flash Player) can publish file from local disk.
Now let me tell you how to do it from server:
Place your video file under "streams" folder of your application i.e. say "myVideo.flv" under <FMS root>/applications/myApp/streams/_definst_
Now write following code in your main.asc file (this file would be under <FMS root>/applications/myApp )
var mystream;
application.onAppStart = function(){
mystream = Stream.get("livestream");
mystream.play("myVideo",0,-1,true);
This will publish "myVideo" file as live stream under name of "livestream". Client would have to subscriber using NetStream and
use ns.play("livestream",-1,-1)
You might have to write some extra code if you want to loop same file else once play of recorded file gets over , live publish will automatically stop.
let me know if this solves your problem -
Remove last frame after live stream
Hi,
How can I remove/reset the last frame sent by a live streaming client? I'm using FMS 3.5.
It can be a server or client side solution. any ideas?
tks.Hi,
What do you mean by removing the last frame from live stream?
A live stream that is published to the server and there is a client which is subscribing to that live stream. And you dont want to send the last frame of the stream to the subscriber, is it? Or something else?

Live Stream Help!!!
Hi,
I have been doing a lot of Flash with progressive download
and also streaming Flash but I have been asked to create a piece
that uses live streaming Flash. I tried using the Flash Import
wizard with the RTMP link that I was given but alas, it failed to
work. I don't understand the live streaming video...
I am having troubles finding a tutorial on this. I looked at
the Flash tutorials and only found the basics of using the Flash
wizard.
Please help!
Thanks!
janstOkay, I guess I was panicking and feeling the stress of a
tight deadline. I actually was doing fine but there was a problem
with my live streaming video link!
However, the skin that I am using from the Adobe provided
skins (which are really great!) has a full screen button and that
button is not working.
Any suggestions?

Hi, Overall, I really like Lightroom, but there's one thing that's bugging me to no end. I work with a lot images, where I need real physical copies of an image on several locations on the disk (workflow reasons, automatic backup, publishing etc). It
