Display month name in DateField control
I'm using the MX DateField control in Flex and want to display the date as 01 Jul 2011 or 01 July 2011. Does anyone know how to do this? I tried setting the formatString to "DD MMM YYYY" but it didn't work.

Hi, just displaying the month name seems not be among the available date formats. In the Inspector, under Date/Time formats, "April-08" is the closest available format. D'oh!

Period number to be displayed as month name

I have Fiscal year/Period defined in the column section of the BW query. Currently the column will be displayed for example: Period 01, 2009, Period 02 2009 and etc. Our users are asking to display the month name instead of the Period#. Is it something can be handled within the query definition (or) via the BW query user exit.

Fiscal period is not always the same as calmonth.
For eg - In India, you have April as the 1st fiscal period of this year.
Hence, it does not make sense to have month names for fiscal period.
Also in FICO you may have special periods..ie periods after period 12.( eg period 13 to 16) you wont be able to map them to a particular month in some cases.
If you want to display month name in your column selections, use 0calmonth object with text display.
However, this would mean you are view a dataset as per calmonth and not as per fiscal period.
Check if this is acceptable for your business requirement.
Lastly, you can always have a formula, to check the value and put texts instead.
( if fiscal period is 02/2009 then month is feb ..(based on the country).

Month name displayed in month calendar view for previous month
In iPad IOS 7.04 iCal month view the month name displayed at the top of the window is incorrect. The previous month name show when viewing a calendar month. Test by selecting year view and the any month from the year. The month view will be for the selected month, but the month name will be for the preceding month. The incorrect month name in month vie is also displayed if the month view is scrolled to new months.
I observe this on my iPad II.
Ha s anyone seen this error? Does anyone know if Apple has seen this and has a plan to correct it?Imhave the same exact problem on my iPad2. It was not fixed in the recent iOS 7.1 release, even though modifications were made to the calendar app. Very frustrating, since this is such an easily observable problem.

Messages on Mac app not displaying contact name
On Messages on my Mac, despite being synced up with iCloud, the Messages app does not display the contact names of anyone. It shows their phone numbers or Apple email addresses. Is there any preference I can change to make it show the contact names? If it exists I haven't found it. I also used the app meant to scrub contacts to make the phone number format conform with Apple's standard (xxx) xxx-xxxx please help!

I take it you are no longer on OS X 10.7.2 ?
The display of Names (and/or Pics) in Buddy Lists and the main Messages window (when in a Chat) in Mountain Lion is controlled from the View Menu > Buddy Names.
To set this choice the window has to be the "Front" one.
So the Messages window (CMD + 0 in the window Menu) gets brought to the Front when any sort of Text Chat is going On.
the View Menu > Buddy Names items is selected and navigation to the choice you want.
Full names is the First name, Last name as seen in the Contacts app (Formerly the Address Book)
Short Names are Nicknames (normally set via Messages) or First name only if no Nickname exists.
Handle is the Screen Names (If AIM), Jabber ID (If Facebook, GoogleTalk or other Jabber ID) or in the case of iMessages the current contact ID or iPhone number.
You can do the same to any Buddy list that you also display.
It can be used in Conjunction with the View Menu > Messages which has options to display Pics, Names or Pics and Names.
(Names now refers to whatever is set in the "Buddy Names" option).

each new release i hav to create to restricted key(2006.09) figure based on the variable created on product release(for example 2006.09 ).
instead of above procedure i have to create a new variable that has to automatically recognise the new version and it has to display on the report.

I have created a report using E-Fashion - Actually i need a report like - For ex i need 4 months data from 12 months
My report should display the 4 months data along with starting & end month data in the next 2 columns

Display Month and 12 previous Months
I am trying to create a report (CRXI) which will display month data for the current month and the 12 previous months. I am going to use subreports (similar to a calendar report) but am having trouble displaying the 12 previous month, year headers.
I get the current month, year from a prompt date and then need to decrease a month for 12 months.

If you want to create a report for last 12 months and don't want to include present month then use the record selection for main report as
(month({DateField}) < month(currentdate)
and
year({DateField})= year(currentdate))
or
(month({DateField})>=month(currentdate)
and
year({DateField})=year(currentdate)-1)
and in the subreport use the record selection to get current month date as
(month({DateField}) =month(currentdate)
and
year({DateField})= year(currentdate))

Hi everybody
I'm building a Quality Notifications (QN) Report for the last 12 months that will be run for one Vendor at the time. I have a Restricted Key Figure [RKF](using an Item Counter RKF pre-built by our company) that is counting how many QN's a supplier have for a given month, and returns the result. My problem is that if there is no QN for a specific Month, the Month won't appear in my report since my RKF is not returning a "0 value" if nothing happens. I need a fast way ('cause I want this report to run in less than 20 sec) to force my RKF to display the month, even if no QN's have been raised... Have any sugesstions?

I was able to do something similar to this and get the month to display even though there was no data for a particular month. The way you can do it is to create a new restricted key figure in your query, restricting the existing rkf by one month. If your report lists a rolling year, you can accomplish the results by creating 12 new rkf's in the query restricted on current month, current month-1, current month -2, etc. If your report lists a full calendar year you can accomplish this by using the variable last month booked of previous year + 1 to give you Jan, last month booked of previous year + 2 to give you Feb, etc. When you create your new query rkf's, if you use &ZCMTHTX& in the description of each new rkf, when your run the query the correct month name and year will be displayed. -
Display Month verbiage on chart but sort by month number

I have inserted a simple bar chart (values by month for a single year) and my goal is to get the data values to group by month.
I found that I can achieve this by using a formula that extracts the month from my Date/TIme field MONTH({Command.OB_DELIVERY_DATE}).
This works OK and displays months as 1, 2, 3, etc. on my chart), but I want to display the month text instead (Jan, Feb, Mar)
I tried a second variable: ToText({Command.OB_DELIVERY_DATE},'MMMM')
This works in displaying the verbiage of the months, however, the problem is that it groups the months on my chart alphabetically now (April is now my 1st month instead of January).
What is the trick to displaying month verbiage on my chart, but still sorting these months in their proper numerical order?

Try this please:
1) Insert a Crosstab and place it on the Report Header. Use the Delivery Date field as the row and add the measure field as the Summary Field with the right Sum function
2) Highlight the Delivery Date field > Group Options > set it to print 'For Each Mointh'
3) While in the Crosstab Expert highlight the Delivery Date field > Click Group Options > Options tab > check the option 'Customize Group Name field' > Select 'use formula as group name' and click the formula button beside. Use this code:
ToText({Command.OB_DELIVERY_DATE},'MMMM')
4) Right-click the Crosstab and select Insert Chart. Choose the right Chart Type
5) Suppress the Section that holds the Crosstab

Grouped by Month Name. How do I sort it correctly?
I have a report grouped by a field name that contains only the names of the month (ie. January, February, etc).
When displayed on the report, it'll sort the groups alphabetically (ie. April, then August, then December).
Is there any way to have these group be sorted in the actual month sequence?Group on this formula:

This will group numerically 1 through 12.
Then simply DISPLAY the month name in your group header using this formula:

I am using BI BEx Designer tool for generating a report on month basis having 0CalMonth on column side like Jan'10 to Jul'10.
Now the problem is if there is no transaction for any month then we wont' get that month name in the report, but i wanted to show all the last 6 months Names in sequence for the data & should show the char value 0 for the month which we dont have trx.
How to do it. Pls let me know if you find any solution on this.
Thanks...Build a structure In the query designer, containing 6 elements:
The 1st one you filter on JAN and name January, the 2nd one you filter on FEB and name February, etc...
In the query properties you have to make sure you have no zero compression active.
This way the structure will alway display and a zero will show even if you don't have any transactions in the cube.
