Display tokens in text file

Hello All;
I am working on some text file update VI's, and I am having quite a bit of trouble with tokens...
In order to get all my offsets and such correct, I need to input a text file (using Read From Text File), but I want to display all tokens with the text. I've played around with the Scan String for Tokens VI, but cannot get it to do what I want it to.
I am attaching a sample text file. Is there a quick way of doing this? (i.e. read from file, put into string, scan entire string and output same string with both text and tokens visible)...

then you shouldn't attach a text file that definitely looks like an ini-file
When you can't use the config file functions you have to program all their possibilieties on your own
Well, I would try to use the string functions (like Scan from string, Match pattern, Spreadsheet string to array,...).
See the attachment to get a clue.

I think you are collecting data at the same time and as aeastet told building an array will help. the example attached will give you an idea.. Though i am not sure whether this will solve your problem or not.

Screen data entry box that displays data from text file AND write back to file.

I want the user to be able to view/edit a 'setup file' FROM THE SAME INDICATOR BOXES for a application. I tried to read the file(text), display individual data in indicator boxes and re-write file when user is finished. This causes errors since you can't use indicators boxes as inputs for the file write. Is there some kind of indicator/control/data entry box that the user can view the data, edit the data, and re-write the data from the box???

Problem displaying CLOB in text file

Hello All,
I have a problem displaying the content from the database in notepad. When I click on a link on my jsf screen, I retrieve the data and display it in notepad.
I have my text content stored in the database with CLOB datatype. When I look in the database the data looks in the following format:

Some have found apps blocked after seemingly minor updates, or for having content deemed inappropriate by them. In light of this, and after careful consideration, I believe it is unnecessary to sign this measure at this time.

Now when I display this content onto the notepad, all the spaces and new line characters are lost, and the entire display looks awkward. This is how it looks:

All the new line characters are lost and it just puts some junk character in place of a new line.
When I copy the same text onto textpad, everything is alright and it displays exactly the way it is present in the database. I am also open to display the content in html, but in HTML it doesn't even display me the junk character in place of new line. It is just one single string without any line separators.
I am using the following code to put the content into the text.

The data is imported from a third party application to my database. It doesn't display any newline characters when I view the data.
But when I do a regular expression search on text pad, I could see that my clob contains \n as the new line character. Is there a way to replace \n with \n\r while writing the data.

I am trying to count word in my text file by using the Java code. Even though i am error in the code and don't know what sintaks to use. For example:

Another text file

Downloading Text file over http

Hi,
I am trying to display some plain text files over http to the client using a web browser. Everything works fine till the time the file size is small, but for the files of over 1MB the frontend just dies. Probably the display happens only after the complete transfer of the file.
Does any one have the solution by which the text files can also be downloaded similar to the html files i.e. incrementaly. I have the code of transferring the html file over http as it happens in the explorer. But the same does not seem to work on the plain text files.

I do not have any Remote server written for this. What i am doing is, the directory in which the files are stored is exposed as a virtual directory through a web server(Apache) and then from client i am just placing a http request to open this file.
So what i can do under this situations to handle the large files.

I am writing a method to read the contents from a text file and store them into a string by using FileInputStream and InputStreamReader.
Now I am dividing the string(which has the contents of the text file) into tokens using the StringTokenizer class. The method is as show below

If pcode1,pname1,price1,sname1 are global variables, which I assume they are, then simply put the word static in front of them. That way, any class in your file can access those values by simply using this notation:
MyClassName.pcode1;
MyClassName.pname1;
MyClassName.price1;
MyClassName.sname1

Text File Data not Displaying completely

Hi All,
Have one issue. The program correctly extracts the data & export to Excel. All column /field data's are dispalying.However while saving this data in a text file in Aplications server file path, though all column/ field data are extracting bit it is not displaying complete column/field data's i.e last 3 or 4 column data's are not displaying after 257 character space (but actually it extracts data.It is just not dispalying while i am checking text file via AL11).
What could be the reason of not dipslaying the all column/filed values in text file wherea as while exporting to excel it is displaying? is there any character length constraint for text file?

There is no restriction on the file size which you can upload on the app server. AL11 is nothing but a report program & there is a limitation on the max number of characters displayed on the page.

How to display a text file in a html page?

I have written a servlet that executes a batch file whose output is saved to a txt file. I am attempting to display content of the text file as a html page from the servlet but am struggling I have attempted to read the file and output it as shown below but it is not displaying the correct data

Couple of things. First you should search the forums for how to properly exec a dos batch file. There are some problems you may run into especially with io. I suspect you may not actually be running that batch file at all.
I would test outputing a text file separately from execing the batch file.
Here is some code so you don't have to output 1 char at a time. Setting the content length and closing the output stream might help.

It's not possible to read from a file without using classes from the core API*. You'll have to get clarification from your instructor as to which classes are and are not allowed.

Having trouble reading specific lines from a text file and displaying them in a listbox

I am trying to read specific lines from all of the text files in a folder that are reports. When I run the application I get the information from the first text file and then it returns this error: "A first chance exception of type 'System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException'

Ok, so if I'm following this correctly you should be able to just loop through all of the files in that folder whose file name matches the pattern and then read the first 22 lines, recording only the first and the last.
Exactly how you store the animal data probably depends on how you are going to display it and what else you are going to do with it. Is there anything other than name and cage number that should be associated with each animal?
You might want to make a dataset with a datatable to describe the animal, or you might write a class, or you might just use something generic like a Tuple. Here's a simple class example:

Then you might bind the animals list to a ListBox, or loop through the list and populate a ListView. If you decided to fill a datatable instead of making Animal instances, then you might bind the resulting table to a DataGridView.

How do i read a text file and then display the content as a string

I also would like to strip the string from a certain substring and convert the remaining string into an array of floating point numbers. I was thinking of using the read from spreadsheet vi but I'm not exactly sure if that is going to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is what I have so far. What I am trying to do is to display the text file as a string and then strip the "curve" from the text file. I think I did this successfully. Now I want to convert the remaining string into an array of floating point numbers, and display the numbers into an array and on a waveform graph.

Display text file in servlet with preserved formatting(newlines, etc)

how do i display a text file in servlet, but all the blanks and newlines are preserved.
this is what i did:

display text in between <pre></pre> tags.
or display it inside a text area,dont worry abt the text area border, u can change that using style sheets.
