Displaying 3 different movieclips in Flash AS2 depending on the date
Hi all,
I'm having major difficulties trying to get my banner ad to work in AS2. I have 3 movieclips:
1. Display clip 1 if the date is before 31.11.13
2. Display clip 2 if the date is between 02.12.13 - 05.12.13
3. Display clip 3 if the date is after 06.12.13
Below is the code I have and I'm struggling with how to do it, as Clip 1 and 3 are coliding with each other as It isn't recognising the different month. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

We have a catalog that defines 2 types of products (they have too many different properties), so wanted to keep them on two different MDEX engines and serve the applications requests. Here DB catalog and front end ATG application is same for both the MDEX instances.
Is it possible to have 2 different output config XML files and index the data into 2 endeca apps using the same indexing component ProductCatalogSimpleIndexingAdmin?

DevHi, also have had some problem some monthes ago - I created separete component ProductCatalogSimpleIndexingAdminSecond. After that one of my colleage gave me some advice:
The creating separate component like ProductCatalogSimpleIndexingAdmin for the second IOC is possible way for resolving your situation. But I afraid that this way will be required creating mane duplicates for already existed components.
In my opinion the better way is the following:
starting from AssemblerApplicationConfiguration and ApplicationConfiguration component. It contains details for connecting between ATG and Endeca. Of course you should configure different components for different Endeca Apps.
After that:
Find all components that uses AssemblerApplicationConfiguration and ApplicationConfiguration. Customize these components for using one or another *Configuration component depending on what index works. (many variants released it: the most simple global custom component with flag.)
Then customize the existed ProductCatalogSimpleIndexingAdmin. Using one or another IOC and setting the flag in global custom component when index started. You can add some methods into your custom ProductCatalogSimpleIndexingAdmin like:
Execute baseline index for both IOC (one by one)
Execute baseline for IOC 1
Execute baseline for IOC 2.
Note: you should be afraid about incremental (partial) index in this configuration. But resolving conflicts in incremental index should be done after full implementation these changes.

Column displaying as an icon instead of/depending on the value
Hello,
I use interactive reports and I've a column (IND_CAMP) that can take 2 values : 0 or 1 (the type of the column is "Number").
I would like this column displays as an icon, depending on the value (a check box, checked or not).
Must I change my table or can I do this directly in Apex, for example with the conditional display ?
Or can I add a column, with a different type, connected to IND_CAMP in my query ?

My "checkbox" is in fact only a picture, so I've 2 icons, for example icon1.gif and icon2.gif
And the value I'm interested in is the value of IND_CAMP (0 or 1).

Display Different Product MSRP and Description based on the Country of the
When a User Opens a Product I want to show him the Product Prices and Description depending on his region.
For Eg: if the person is from Canada (based on his profile) and he select a product ABCD the MSRP visible is USD 1000 and the description is also different
Another persond belonging to US opens the same product he see it as USD 1250
Is there a way in which we could do this?

As per my requirement, we need to create one file for each IDoc based on IDoc header data. SAP program generates 10 IDocs for each run. All 10 IDoc's message type is same. Each IDoc has one header record with the file name. Base on the name in the IDoc header record, file needs to be created with different columns and file name. Means..
IDoc 01- Header Description contains 'A' - than file will be generated should have name as 'A.txt' and columns 'parent' 'child' 'descripion'.
IDoc 02- Header Description contains 'B' - than file will be generated should have name as 'B.txt' and columns 'Name' 'Department' 'Description'.
IDoc 10- Header Description contains 'J' - than file will be generated should have name as 'J.txt' and columns 'Order No' 'Materail' 'Description'.
Hope this will give more clarity on my requirement. Please let me if you are still not clear on requirement.

Return specific number of rows depending on the data in a column in table
Hi,
I have a table named orders which has column orderid and noofbookstoorder in addition to other columns.
I want to query the orders table and depending on the value of the 'noofbookstoorder' value return that number of rows.
Eg
Orderid noofbookstoorder
1 1
2 3
3 2
when I query the above data saying
select * from orders where orderid=2;
since it has noofbookstoorders value as 3 the query should return 3 rows and when I query
select * from orders where orderid=3;
it should return 2 rows and
select * from orders where orderid=1;
should return 1 row.
Is it possible to achieve this. If yes, then how do I write my query.

I am going to try asking this same question a different way as I have yet to find a working solution to my problem. I have a main report and then 8 sub reports. My main report has one data set and returns one row of data per account number. One
of the fields in the main data set is called AccountProf. My main report displays one page per Account number and then calls a different sub report based on that account's AccountProf value. The sub reports take in the account number as a parameter
and get multiple rows of data to display that accounts usage formatted differntly for each AccountProf (hence the 8 different sub report.
So far I can figure out how to do everything but setting the visibility property of each sub-reports when I have multiple accounts. If I use the following expression for the visibility property on each sub report, it makes all the applicable sub report
for all the accounts requested visible at once:
=IIF(Fields!AccountProf.Value= "USE_PLUS_DMD",False,True)
*The value in bold USE_PLUS_DMD is different for each sub report.

According to your description, there is a main report and 8 sub reports in the report, you want to set visibility of sub reports, if no value is passed to the parameter of sub report, the sub report will not be displayed. If that is the case, please refer
to the following steps:
1. Create a new parameter named NewAccountNumber, set its data type the same as @AccountNumber, select Allow multiple values, set Visibility to be hidden, then set all available values to default values.
2. Right-click the first sub report and open Subreport Properties dialog box, click Parameters in left pane, set name to AccountNumber, then click (fx) button, type the expression like below:
=Parameters! NewAccountNumber(0)
3. Click Visibility in left pane, select Show or hide based on an expression, then click (fx) button and type the expression like below:
=IIF(InStr(Join(Parameters! AccountNumber.Value), Parameters!NewAccountNumber.Value(0))>0 , false,true)
4. Modify parameter of other sub reports like step2.
5. Set visibility of other sub reports like step3.

PDF file displays different number of text blocks in Acrobat Pro CC 2014 and CS6 versions
Hi,
I've inherited a file at work that displays different numbers of text blocks, depending on the version of Acrobat Pro used to view the file. Here's the specific issue:
As viewed in CC 2014:
"Chapter 1 - Chapter One Title": Appears as two text blocks -- one for "Chapter 1 - " and one for "Chapter One Title"
As viewed in CS 6:
"Chapter 1 - Chapter One Title": Appears as a single text block -- "Chapter 1 - Chapter One Title"
This occurs only with regard to single-digit chapter numbers that are whole numbers. So:
Chapter 1, Chapter 5, and Chapter 7 entries appear as two blocks in CC 2014, one block in CS6.
Chapter 2.0, Chapter 6.1, Chapter 10, entries appear in single blocks in both CC 2014 and CS6.
The PDF file was created -- I believe -- through the save-to-PDF feature in Word 2010.
Any idea what's happening here?

DavidFirst of all, there is no such thing as Acrobat CS6 or Acrobat CC 2014. We assume you are referring to Acrobat X and Acrobat XI respectively.
Secondly, how are you determining how many text blocks are in the PDF file? By use of the text touchup/edit function in Acrobat? If so, how this edit function displays text doesn't necessarily correspond to the actually underlying text fragments in the PDF file. In fact, sometimes it combines fragments based on heuristics. Those heuristics have varied with different version of Acrobat.
PDF as a file format doesn't know the context of the graphical objects such as text. There is no concept of a line, a sentence, a paragraph, a column, etc. in terms of text. Runs of text are context-insensitive. You will get “breaks” when switching between regular and italics or when unusual paragraph justification is involved.
Is the actual problem in trying to edit the text or something else?
If you post a file, and indicate what text we should look at, we can confirm what is actually going on in your file.

Switching from Flash-AS2 to Flex

I have made a project in AS2 with Flash. and communicating with the data through XMLs

Now I have to play with large set of data with graphs, grids, different options etc on this maps. I think Flex will be best for it. it will directly connect to the database to fetch datas. I am planning to use webservice.
So I need your suggestion and tips for this. And what serverside language I should choose.Good choice. Best you can do is making a new project with Flex Builder.
Probably you can use (parts of) your existing AS2 code (be aware of the differences with AS3).
Is there a particular reason why you want to use webservices?
If not, you can considering calling the data-XML's directly by HTTPService for example.

...and the way to display different designs on the label is to draw on it. However, you should not override the paint method, you should override the paintComponent method (assuming that you are using Swing rather than AWT, which seems to be a fair assumption since you are posting this in the Swing forum).
Here is a very simple example of one way of doing this. See how the paintComponent method is overridden to draw horizontal lines on the label. Maybe this can give you some ideas.

Create two or more flash files from one (Excel) data source
Hi experts,
I have the following requirement about Xcelsius.
Our data source is a relational database. Via the ODBC driver we manage to create several queries and execute them into Microsoft Excel. Those excel sheets are the basic for the Xcelsius reports.
Now we want to build some highly visualized reports on that, but the crucial fact is. We don't want to have all the reports in one FlashFile, but we need several flash file depending on the area of the queries.
Hence our requirement would be one of the following points:
- create multiple flash files from one .xlf
- create multiple .xlf from data source
Another requirement is the automatic execution of the process. We don't want to have a person in between, who has to call all the .xlf files to create the Flash reports step by step. What we need is an automatic process.
Can this requirement be fulfilled in a way?
Maybe by using the Xcelsius SDK?

Firstly talking about the important requirement i.e. automating the process:
In your case you can achieve this by using the XML maps. This will pick the data automatically when ever report is refreshed.
Secondly, both the approaches are correct, however i would go with the first one.
1. Create multiple flash files from one .xlf
You just need to create one dashboard and have a filter on areas (Invisible) and then export to flash (for every area).
2. Create multiple .xlf from data source
This approach is also fine, however you need to create multiple dashboards and do the same thing i.e filter data based on area.
P.S. Did you get a chance to explore options to integrate Xcelsius with your Relational Database, this will be much effective.

Calling a specific version of an ABAP FuBa depending on the frontend versio
Hi Folks,
I have a (possibly?) tricky ABAP question.
I have a frontend that is calling an ABAP RFC via the rfclib on windows (client language is C#). The frontend is executing the ABAPs and retrieving and submitting data via that RFC. Now I need to have the ability to provide different versions of that RFC depending on the capabilities of the fromtend.
It's like this:
One frontend is version 0.9 and wishes to call RFC Z_FUBA_GET_DETAIL with say 3 input parameters
Another frontend is version 1.5 and also wishes to call RFC Z_FUBA_GET_DETAIL but in a newer version because it can work with more or different parameters.
Can anyone tell me if that would be possible at all???

I'm not sure if this would solve my problem. What I'm looking for is a solution where a client can send the desired/needed version of an RFC along with the call itself.
Say a frontend version 0.9 calls the RFC in version 0.9 and a frontend version 1.5 is calling the newer version 1.0 of that very same RFC.

I have time-dependent master-data (an item infoObject with it's corresponding price as an attribute) and want to show the item prices depending on the date of sale on my bill. I can put a "key-date" in my query-properties, but that delivers only the price to that date. I would like to have the price determined by the date of sale saved in 0CALDAY in my cube. You can write routine in update rule which fetches values from master data info object and collect it into ODS as per bill date.
The code in update rule should like this ..
select price into lv_price from /bic/table "table containting time dependent master data
