Displaying the Attribute of a Char

Hi All,
I have to display a CHAR in the report. But that CHAR is an attribute of another CHAR. I am unable to display the attribute with out displaying the main CHAR means I have to display only the attribute and not the main CHAR i.e
for ex: If I have to display the prod. hierarchy code which is an attribute of the CHAR Material, I have to display the Product Hierarchy with out displaying the Material.
Any Ideas please???
Best Regards,
James.

Hi All,
I solved my problem with ur suggestions...
Thanks a lot...

    Quick summary: I can't refer to the attributes passed in to by custom tag.

    And when I refer to hardid, I get nothing for the outputText test but I do get something for the ${hardid} test.
    I don't see this a reference to this problem alot on the web so I figure I must be missing something obvious but I just don't know what.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks.

    Are you using Windows Vista? If so and you have Aero turned on that sometimes causes strange things like that. It used to happen to me in Fireworks. The way I got around it was having it launch Fireworks in compatibility mode that would revert the display from Aero to standard.

  • Not able to display the Node context attributes to table

    Hi Friends,
    Issue: Currently i am reading the Node parameters and assigning the parameters to the Context of the mainView.
    Then displaying the attributes into table here i am using a iterator to fetch the attributes.
    But its reading only one record to the table not all the attributes.
    Here i am attaching the code:
    Node is EvaluationDimensions and attributes are Dimension and Selected_values.
    Line: -
    public void wdDoInit()
       //@@begin wdDoInit()
    try
    IBONodeElement test = null;
    test = (IBONodeElement)wdThis.wdGetDefinedimensiongafController().wdGetContext().nodeEvaluationDimensions().currentEvaluationDimensionsElement().model();
    IBONode testNode = test.getBONode();
    Iterator it = testNode.iterator();
    IBONodeElement itElement = null;
    while(it.hasNext())
    itElement = (IBONodeElement)it.next();
    //wdContext.nodeEvaluationDimensions().createAndAddEvaluationDimensionsElement();
    wdContext.createAndAddEvaluationDimensionsElement();
    wdContext.currentEvaluationDimensionsElement().setDimension(itElement.getAttributeValue("KPIParameterDefinitionName").toString());
    wdContext.currentEvaluationDimensionsElement().setSelected_Values(itElement.getAttributeValue("ParameterSelectedValuesText").toString());
    } catch (RuntimeException e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    wdThis.wdGetDefinedimensiongafController().wdGetAPI().getComponent().getMessageManager().reportSuccess(e.toString());
        //@@end
    Line: -
    Could you suggest me some alternatives to show all records into table??
    Thanks & Best Regards, Prabhu(9886855725)
    Edited by: Armin Reichert on Apr 24, 2008 12:57 PM

    Hi Prabhu
    IBONodeElement test = null;
    test = (IBONodeElement)wdThis.wdGetDefinedimensiongafController().wdGetContext().nodeEvaluationDimensions().currentEvaluationDimensionsElement().model();
    What is this model() .
    You remove the try catch method once and test it to trace the error.Why cant you use typed AccessAPI to fetch the values from the node element.Is your node have more elements test it.By getting the size of the node.
    That too you are setting values to only current context element .Not for other elements.Everytime you are setting the values to current context element,thats why you are getting only one element values at a time.Iterate properly and try to set the values for each element
    wdContext.currentEvaluationDimensionsElement().setDimension(itElement.getAttributeValue("KPIParameterDefinitionName").toString());
    See the above code every time you are setting to currentNode lement notforother elements.

  • How to display attributes for a CHAR in the Excel file (BEx)?

    Hi all,
    I knew that I can display attributes for a CHAR (ex: attributes - address, phone#, zip code for CHAR-Customer) when I run Web- based report. But I cannot find this function after I export the file to Excel. In the context menu for excel file, I only see 'select filter'(but no display attribute values), drilldown, properties (for query). Is it something that I cannot have in the excel file for the BEx report?
    Thanks
    J.

    Hi Bhanu,
    In fact, I found that I can move IOs in the 'rows', 'column', and 'free CHARs' and so do end user by using 'local view'. That means every one can change the query definition, right?
    For your last question, that was what I want to know. How can I prevent 'end users' change those query definitions? Is it about 'role' setting, right? But I am not the one to do 'role' setting.
    Thanks for help. (I will asign points when the SDN system works)

  • Display entity-attributes and global-attributes in the same screen

    Hi,
    I have a question about entity.
    Is it possible to display in the same screen, entity-attributes and global-attributes?
    thanks
    Rosalia

    Hi Rosalia,
    You can only display attributes from the current entity and the entity or entities that it is contained by (the parent entities).
    So if you had the following data model
    Global
    ..the person
    ...the income
    the person is contained by global.
    the income is contained by the person (which is contained by global).
    If you want to create a person-level question screen, you can display global attributes on that screen by using subsitution like %global_field_1%. You cannot, however, input global attributes on that screen (ONLY attributes belonging to the person)
    If you want to create an income-level question screen, you can display attributes from the person such as "tell us about %person_name%'s income..." as well as global attributes. Again, you cannot input person or global attributes on that screen (ONLY attributes belonging to the income)
    However it only works from child-to-parent containment relationships! You cannot have a global question screen which loops through the person instances and displays attributes from the person, or from the income out-of-the-box.
    We have managed to implement this using custom controls.
    You can map individual attributes back up to the parent level, and then display them,
    such as
    the first person's name = InstanceValueIf(the people, the person's name, the person's id = 1)
    the first person's name is now a global attribute and can be displayed on global question screens.
    Hope this helps!

  • CRM2007-Display an attribute set (Marketing ) on the header page of BP

    Display an attribute set (Marketing ) on the main view of the business partner
    Only the attributes of a certain attribute set should be displayed. The full mkt attrib tab is available in the standard solution.
    Example: We want to show the attributes of set u201CBP_CUST_CLASSu201D on the header page.
    Regards
    Aashish

    Hi,
    this should be possible. Here a short idea how:
    Create a new view as table view that displays the marketing attributes. Have a look at the standard solution or even copy it. In the ON_NEW_FOCUS method filter out all attributes of different attribute sets than you desire.
    In the BP Details page create a new viewarea and assign your newly created table view to it.
    cheers Carsten

  • Where is the "Icon Display Period" attribute stored?

    G'day All,
    I have a procedure that needs to referenece the "Icon Display
    Period" attribute for a particular content area (this is normally accessed via
    the Content Area properties page). Try as I might, I cannot track down
    the table/column that stores this little gem of a value:-( Anyone have
    any ideas where this might be located?
    Cheers
    Kal.

    G'day Sharmila,
    Thanks for your quick response:-) Unfortunately neither WWV_THINGS nor WWV_CORNERS
    seems to contain what I'm looking for (either that or I'm really missing something here).
    My understanding is that WWV_CORNERS contains information about individual folders.
    I use this table to get the UPDATEDATE and CREATEDATE attributes to which I want to
    compare the difference between the current date and the "Icon Display Period".
    WWV_THINGS seems to contain information about idividual items but I'm only really
    interested in folders for the moment.
    Now "Icon Display Period" seems to be a content area wide property. The default is 7 days.
    I've looked at tables like WWSBR_ALL_CONTENT_AREAS and WWSBR_ALL_SITES
    but they don't seem to hold very much information at all:-( Hmmm ... just looking at the Content
    Area Properties page and there seems to be quite a lot of information there. Surely It must
    be stored somewhere?
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Kal.

  • Displaying the HTML content ( VO attribute) as tooltip description.

    Hi all,
    I am doing a customization, where I need to display the VO attribute value as a tool tip for a link in advanced table column.
    The VO attribute value is a "HTML" text.
    Now, in the tool tip also, it is displaying in HTML format.
    Do anyone know how to convert this HTML format to a string format.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Search the xml node by attributes and display the entire row

    I am having a table with two columns say
    school_name string type
    student_notebookprice xmldata
    how do i search with oracle query having student_id=102 and schoolname="abc_school" with notebook price 20, how do i get only one single row
    abc_school,
    <students>
         <student id="101">
         <notebookprice>12</notebookprice>
         </student>

              <notebookprice>15</notebookprice>
              <notebookprice>16</notebookprice>
    </student>
    </students>

    yes . what i want based on search criteria i need to display that row . initially i have tried with the below query
    SELECT school_name,
    extractvalue(value(x), '//id') as student_id ,
    extractValue(value(x), '//teacher') AS teacher
    FROM school t ,
    TABLE( XMLSequence( Extract(t.obj_xml, '/students/student[id=101 and teacher="abc"]'))) x
    where existsNode(t.obj_xml, '/students/student[id=101 and teacher="abc"]') = 1
    but when i want to add the second student in the search , i am failed to produce the second student information in the output and i can able to add it to where clause and but how to display the student info in the output . The xmltable option that u have specified looks good but what i fear is , it produce multiple combination with all the tags in the xml with the other columns in the table . will it cause any performence issue .
    <students>
    <student >
    <id>101</id>
    <teacher>abc</teacher>
    </student>
    <student >
    <id>102</id>
    <teacher>xyz</teacher>
    <teacher>onp</teacher>
    <teacher>rsm</teacher>
    </student>
    </students>
    SELECT school_name,

    JLundan,
    I want to thank you for responding to the thread I started on the forum at java.sun.com. Your solution to my problem of needing to print the code of the html pages that the file I included generates was just what I was looking for. However, I have some further questions to ask, if you don't mind. To clarify my task I should say that your rephrasing of the problem is accurate: "You wan't to display the contents of the HTML file that the web server produces in response of client's request?"
    Yes, this is what I need to do, but also it needs to display the source code of that html file that the server produces in response to the client's request. Also, in this case, I am the client requesting that the server return some html file, and I'm not sure where the server is. But the webserver.java file that I shared on the forum is on my local machine. I was wondering if I could modify this webserver.java file at my home so that any html file the server returns to me would automatically display the source code. This is a school project of mine and I am stuck on this one thing here.
    Further, where would I put the "foo.html" file so it can be written to?
    FileOuputStream fos = new FileOutputStream("foo.html");
    fos.write(bytes);
    fos.close();
    Thanks so much for your help. I look forward to your response, at your convenience.

    Hi Manish
    Yes this is a display attr.  if i change it to Nav attri. will this not effect business as this is being used.

  • Can'n see the attributes in InfoCube

    hi, all,
    I loaded the master data and texts of the InfoObject 0PM_ORDER and I can see them in administrator work bench. I also loaded transactional data in the InfoCube 0PM_C01. But, when displa the data in the InfoCube, all the fields of the attributes to 0PM_ORDER are empty.
    I also enhanced the structure of the InfoCube, icluding two characteristics (0EQUIPMENT and 0FUNCT_LOC). They both are nav. attributes to 0PM_ORDER. So I maintened the update rules - the two new char have to be filled by the attrubutes of 0PM_ORDER. But, it doesn't work.
    Has any one any idea?
    thanks in advance
    best regards
    neven

    hi Neven,
    this is common things that we forget to do ...
    you can schedule this in background job - daily (after all master data loaded) - from the same menu.
    or if you use process chain, you can include the process after all master data uploaded.
    hope this helps.

  • How can I access the Attribute Values from the Search Region

    Hi all,
    I have a table which contains Company id, department id, and PositonId. For a particular Company and Department there may be multiple records.
    I have to pupulate a table which contains the position and other details that comes under a particular Department and Position based on the selection in the Three comboBoxes.
    Also I have to populate a select many Shuttle to add new postions and records under a particular Department.
    I created a query panel *(Search Region)* for the serch and a table to display the data. That is working fine.
    Now the issue is I am using a view criteria to populate the shuttle with two bind variables ie, DepartmentId and CompanyId.
    If the serach will return a resuktant set in the table it will also pupulate the correct records, otherwise ie, if the if the serch result is empty the corresponding iterator and the attribute is setting as null.
    SO I want to access the attribute values from the Search Region itsef to populate the shuttle.
    I don't know how can I access the data from the Search Region.
    Please Help.
    Regards,
    Ranjith

    you could access the parameters entered in search region by the user as follows:
    You can get handle to the value entered by the user using queryListener method in af:query.
    You can intercept the values entered as described
    public void onQueryList(QueryEvent queryEvent) {
    // The generated QueryListener replaced by this method
    //#{bindings.ImplicitViewCriteriaQuery.processQuery}
    QueryDescriptor qdes = queryEvent.getDescriptor();
    //get the name of the QueryCriteria
    System.out.println("NAME "+qdes.getName());
    List<Criterion> searchList = qdes.getConjunctionCriterion().getCriterionList();
    for ( Criterion c : searchList) {
    if (c instanceof AttributeCriterion ) {
    AttributeCriterion a = (AttributeCriterion) c;
    a.getValues();
    for ( Object o : a.getValues()){
    System.out.println(o.toString());
    //call default Query Event
    invokeQueryEventMethodExpression("#{bindings.ImplicitViewCriteriaQuery.processQuery}",queryEvent);
    public void onQueryTable(QueryEvent queryEvent) {
    // The generated QueryListener replaced by this method

  • To display the icon on the report output

    hi friends good afternoon!
    iam devloping a report which need to display the icon on the output.
    when i press the icon some action will be performed,
    this is my requirment plz help.

    Hi,
    First declare INCLUDE ICON in the program Code.
    Then you can write the different Icons:
    declare a single char field.
    move the icons into that and display.
    sample code:
    form select_icons.
      data: w_disp_tab like zpickdisp,
            w_disp_head like zpickhead,
            w_color like zpickdisp-color,
            ov_icon like zpickdisp-ov_icon,
            gi_icon like zpickdisp-gi_icon,
            to_icon like zpickdisp-to_icon,
            lp_icon like zpickdisp-lp_icon,
            pc_icon like zpickdisp-pc_icon,
            lv_icon like zpickdisp-lv_icon,
            vm_icon like zpickdisp-vm_icon,
            em_icon like zpickdisp-em_icon,
            t_ovst_tab like t_disp_tab with header line.
      constants: c_col1(3) value 'C10',
                 c_col2(3) value 'C20'.
      sort t_data_tab by lgtor vbeln.
      w_color = c_col2.
      loop at t_data_tab.
        at new lgtor.
        fill ALV header table
          clear w_disp_head.
          w_disp_head-lgtor = t_data_tab-lgtor.
          append w_disp_head to t_disp_head.
        endat.
      goods issue status & overall amber/green only
        case t_data_tab-wbstk.
          when c_c.
            move icon_green_light to gi_icon.
            move icon_green_light to ov_icon.
          when others.
            move icon_red_light to gi_icon.
            move icon_yellow_light to ov_icon.
        endcase.
      transfer order status
        case t_data_tab-lvsta.
          when c_a.
            move icon_red_light to to_icon.
          when c_b.
            move icon_yellow_light to to_icon.
          when c_c.
            move icon_green_light to to_icon.
          when space.
          write N/A
            to_icon = 'N/A'.
        endcase.
      loaded to pallet status
        if not t_data_tab-zpallet_no is initial.
          move icon_green_light to lp_icon.
        else.
          move icon_red_light to lp_icon.
        endif.
      pallet count status
        if not t_data_tab-zcount_check is initial.
          move icon_green_light to pc_icon.
        else.
          move icon_red_light to pc_icon.
        endif.
      loaded to van status
        if not t_data_tab-zvan_no is initial.
          move icon_green_light to lv_icon.
        else.
          move icon_red_light to lv_icon.

          move icon_green_light to em_icon.
        else.
          move icon_red_light to em_icon.
        endif.
      move working data table to display table
        move-corresponding t_data_tab to w_disp_tab.
        w_disp_tab-ov_icon = ov_icon.
        w_disp_tab-gi_icon = gi_icon.
        w_disp_tab-to_icon = to_icon.
        w_disp_tab-lp_icon = lp_icon.
        w_disp_tab-pc_icon = pc_icon.
        w_disp_tab-lv_icon = lv_icon.
        w_disp_tab-vm_icon = vm_icon.
        w_disp_tab-em_icon = em_icon.
        w_disp_tab-color = w_color.
      fill N/A values for initial fields for display
        if w_disp_tab-packvorschr is initial.
          w_disp_tab-packvorschr = 'N/A'.

        if w_disp_tab-zpallet_no is initial.
          write 'N/A' to w_disp_tab-zpallet_no.
        endif.
        if w_disp_tab-zvan_no is initial.
          write 'N/A' to w_disp_tab-zvan_no.
        endif.
      display different color for new doc number
        at end of vbeln.
          if w_color = c_col1.
            w_color = c_col2.
          elseif w_color = c_col2.
            w_color = c_col1.
          endif.
        endat.
        append w_disp_tab to t_disp_tab.
        clear w_disp_tab.
      endloop.
    we have all the icons in display but need to check the overall status
    as this refers to the line items
    green and amber statuses already set and use the same criteria as the
    goods issue status unless detected as red here
      data: ov_stat_red(1).
      clear w_disp_tab.
      sort t_disp_tab by vbeln.
      loop at t_disp_tab into w_disp_tab.
        at new vbeln.
        check all line items for delivery
          loop at t_data_tab where vbeln = w_disp_tab-vbeln.
            if t_data_tab-lvsta = c_a.
            set overall status to red
              ov_stat_red = c_yes.
              exit.
            else.
            leave green/amber status icon as previosly determined
            endif.
          endloop.
          if ov_stat_red = c_yes.
          set overall status to red for all items in that delivery
            clear ov_stat_red.
            move icon_red_light to w_disp_tab-ov_icon.
            modify t_disp_tab from w_disp_tab transporting ov_icon
                              where vbeln = w_disp_tab-vbeln.
