DisplayTransaction complete when inserting records programmatically through

Hi
I have a block which contains some a table of non database items. I am programmatically inserting those values in a database table. It is inserting into the database table properly but i don't see the transaction complete message. Could anybody please let me know how to do that?

Putting a message is easy but we also need to display the number of records applied and saved. This message will be automatically be appeared for the data inserted into databaseblock directly through form but this message will not appear while data is inserted to a database table via a nondtabase item in a nondatabase table.

Hi Experts,
I am facing a issue in the transaction PA30 where in any changes made and saved leads to Runtime error (Inserting records in Infotype tables ).
Error Line : insert (dbname) from <prel_db>
The Structure is the same but the data mismatch with the data types like
Field NUMC(4) is filled with 00 instead of 0000
Field DATE and TIME are Blank instead of 00000000 or 000000.
Similarly facing the same issue in few other fields.
The issue is same as the below thread and tried the solution given by Taher kanchwala by changing the data in the debugger and it worked.

BUT i am not sure about the changes that needs to be done for fixing this issue permanently as it is mentioned to change at the configuration level.
Any suggestions or solutions to this issue??

Thanks for your time. No enhancements are done.
The issue is in the below statement where dbname is PA2001 and the field symbol <prel_db> has the structure of PA2001.
insert (dbname) from <prel_db>
But the data is not matching with the data types like NUMC, DATE, TIME..
Even the DOCSY and DOCNR which should been generated at this point is also not generated.
On correcting this and giving dummy doc values, records are inserted.
Attaching screen shots for your reference. Any solutions to this??

Our doDml() method fires when you try to issue commit if you want to validate data at commit then just add the code in the Entity Object Class as I posted in previous post or if you want to validate records with data at add new Row button then you can follow the following aproach.
1. create a data base pl/sql function which take the customer id as input and return 1 if the customer already existed or 0 if not existed.
2. Now we can call this database function at Add new Row button
i. if it returns 1 then we will throw Exception.
ii. if it return 0 then we will let the record save in data base.

Primary key violation when inserting records with insert_identity and ident_current+x

My problem is this: I have data in a couple of temporary tables including
relations (one table referencing records from another table by using
temporary keys).
Next, I would like to insert the data from the temp tables to my productive tables which have the same structure but their own identity keys. Hence, I need to translate the 'temporary' keys to regular identity keys in my productive tables.
This is even more difficult because the system is highly concurrent, i.e. multiple sessions may try to insert
data that way simultaneously.
So far we were running the following solution, using a combination of
identity_insert and ident_current:

Since the request to ident_current() is located directly in the insert statement, we always have an implicit transaction which should be thread safe to a certain extend.
We never had a problem with this solution for years until recently when we were running in occasional primary key violations. After some reasearch it turned out, that there were concurrent sessions trying to insert records in this way.
Does anybody have an explanation for the primary key violations or an alternative solution for the problem?

NO, your problem is that you have no idea how RDBMS and SQL work.
1. Rows are not anything like records; this is a basic concept.
2. Temp tables are how old magnetic tape file mimic scratch tapes. SQL programmers use CTEs, views, derived tables, etc.
3. Keys are a subset of attributes of an entity, fundamental characteristics of them! A key cannot be temporary by definition.

NO, you just get worse. IDENTITY is a 1970's Sybase/UNIX dialect, based on the sequential file structure used on 16-bit mini computers back then. It counts the physical insertion attempts (not even successes!) and has nothing to with a logical data model. This
is a mag tape drive model of 1960's EDP, and not RDBMS.

Gee, that is how magnetic tapes work, with queues. This is one of many reasons competent SQL programers do not use IDENTITY.

This is a kludge, not a solution.
There is no such thing as a generic “id” in RDBMS; it has to be “<something in particular>_id” to be valid. You have no idea what the ISO-11179 rules are. Even worse, your generic “id” changes names from table to table! By magic, it starts as a “Doc”,
then becomes a “Pos” in the next table! Does it wind up as a “doc-id”? Can it become a automobile? A squid? Lady Gaga?
This is the first principle of any data model; it is based on the Law of Identity; remember that from Freshman Logic 101? A data element has one and only one name in a model.
And finally, you do not know the correct syntax for INSERT INTO, so you use the 1970's Sybase/UNIX dialect! The ANSI/ISO Standard uses a table consrtuctor:

Error with date field when inserting records into sql server from webdynpro

I am trying to insert the records into sql server through my webDynpro program.
I have created a date field in a dictionary with the datatype date.
In my webdynpro program to insert the date i am following the below format.

SQL Error when inserting record

When attempting to update a record in dreamweaver, I am receiving the following error:
"You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ' Organization, Office, Department, Phone, EmailAddress, JobTitle, `OfficialMaili' at line 1"
I suspect there is a problem with my SQL statements but I'm not a programmer and I was hoping someone could take a look at my script and see if there is an obvious problem with my SQL statements.

Why grant select is needed on a table when you are only inserting records

Please can you tell me why a grant select is needed when inserting records which are being inserted across a link?
We have a table in database1 which we are trying to insert records from database2. database2 has a db_link to database1.
The table residing in database1 has grant insert to the named user in the db_link. But unless there is also a grant select to that user we cannot insert records. We do not actually need to be able to select the records across the db_link, but nevertheless we get the following error on trying to insert records without the grant select being in place:
ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
Cause: An attempt was made to change the current username or password without the appropriate privilege. This error also occurs if attempting to install a database without the necessary operating system privileges. When Trusted Oracle is configure in DBMS MAC, this error may occur if the user was granted the necessary privilege at a higher label than the current login.
Action: Ask the database administrator to perform the operation or grant the required privileges. For Trusted Oracle users getting this error although granted the the appropriate privilege at a higher label, ask the database administrator to regrant the privilege at the appropriate label.

Since there is no remote describe function, a select must be done to get the table structure. This is talked about in Note: 1004923.6.

Inserting records from Infopath forms library to a SQL table

I have a requirement where i need to populate records from a Infopath forms library to a SQL table in a database. We have written a console app to achive the same. However we are encountering performance issues when inserting records in the database. The
way we retreive information from Infopath forms library is through a CAML query and then insert record by record in database. Is their a better and faster way to acheive this?

Now I created a KEY-CREREC trigger with code
1. I have a procedure that enables some fields and go_item('block.item1')
2. create_record;
There are 2 undesirable things that are occuring
1. user queries records, clicks on plus sign, the cursor does not go to the 1st field in the block even though i say go_item(block.item1)
2. to exit without saving the record, i have to click on remove record and then exit. is there a way of exiting out of the form without clciking on remove record button

I have developed a servlet. This servlet is inserting record into postgres sql through hibernate using eclispe ide. When I run my code then I find the following exception

Now it is displaying error hibernate.cfg.xml not found.that's part of the problem. where is the servlet reading that file and initializing the session factory? how is it finding that file?
i don't know where you have that .cfg.xml file, or where the recommended place is where hibernate expects to see it, but i'd bet it needs to be in the CLASSPATH, which means WEB-INF/classes.
figure out why you get that NPE first, though. the servlet is only making things worse.

Hi,
If you are writing a form on a table then you can call the mail API from a database trigger on the table. If it is a form on a procedure, you can make the email call from the procedure. To know more about sending mails from plsql go to

Unable to INSERT record but inserting. Forms 4.5 error through Apps 10.7

Hi All,
I have written the following code on save button on form 4.5 which has been used from APPS. I created the master-detail relation also.
It suppose to insert a row into header and then into lines.
Its inserting the row into both the tables but getting the following error in betweeen.

not sure on the block structure of your forms.
one would question why you seem to be doing a lot of the default insert work on the press of a button (when-button-pressed).
also if you have a master-detail relationship in the form - why you don't let forms handle the master-detail insert.
seems like you have database database blocks but are almost coding as if they are non-base table blocks.

Error when inserting a new record (Ctrl+Down)

Here the problem is : when i press Ctrl+Down (Insert new record), i enter data into all those fields, but i got an error
Cannot Insert Record ("ROGER"."NUME") cannot be null (roger is my username which i logged on). And i completed all fields
Also, when inserting data into fields, when i click on another field, it points me back automatically to the last completed field, then when i click again on the next field, i can enter data in that field. why the cursor cannot be on the next field when i first click there?
i changed the property of the items Required = No (but however, in the database cannot be null).
Please help if you can.

For your other issue, with null fields on your forms.
have you ever tried to log those fields value into a log table?
A better and simple idea is:
Create a temp table, with four columns: seq, section, message, type
Where section is the column to condition any search you want to make
message is the column to write anything you want
type is the column which holds the tpe of the record, like info, debug, warn, etc.
then create a database procedure
this procedure must recieve the section, message, type and insert them into the log table and do commit.
in yiour pre-insert trigger [forms level] or in your when-button-pressed or even better on your on-commit trigger [forms level]
write the following code:

database_procdure('MY_FORM_NAME', 'THE VALUES ARE: 1='||:1||' 2='||:2||' 3='||:3, 'INFO');
end;
After that you can do a select in your sql*plus with the following statement:
select *
from temp_table
where selction like 'MY_FORM_NAME';
then you can track if any of the values you think is null or has a value, in fact, has a value.
