Jaya, with all due respect, you have made several post in these forums. Each time we ask that you supply more information as the info you do supply is sorely lacking in detail. I understand teat we are all busy these days, however by not providing the information you are prolonging the time to resolution of your issue. With each post, please ensure that you supply at least basic pertinent information:
1) Version of Crystal Reports used
2) Development language to be used
3) Version of development language to be used
4) Crystal Reports SDK to be used (COM, CR for .NET, RAS, BOE)
5) Possibly database to be used
6) Database connection type used

1) How can I distribute reports using Crystal Reports in VB.Net?
You must use msm or msi files. I can not provide any links as I do not know which version of CR you are using (thus prolonging time to resolution...)
2) what is windows functionality?
This question has no meaning. Please take the time to elaborate.
3) Where can I find FTP Scripts?
Please supply more details. What do you mean by FTP scripts? Do you mean that you are looking for sample web apps?
4) Any ideas or samples will be appreciated.

How to distribute Crystal Report XI R2

Hello Guys, I wanna to Distribuite my Application that have Crystal Report Files (RPT), I know that i need to couple the Merge Modules ( MSM files ) in a InstallShield for example, and when the application go install automatically the Merge Modules are installed too.
But I wanna know if I can put this Merge Modules in Client Computer without installing again the application, because the application is already running and work normally i just wanna put this reports without installing all application again.

I assume you've logged this in legacy because this is an RDC application, but I think you should clarify for us.
If this is RDC in XI R2, yes you can use the merge modules to create an installation package for your Crystal Reports runtime. It is best if you have this as an Add-on for your application because you don't want to add/remove your entire application if you need to update your Crystal Reports runtime.

Distribute Crystal Report from BOE Server

Hi,

Installation on Client machine:
Crystal Report 2008 V1 SP1 and SP2
SAP Integration Kits XI 3.1 SP2
Installation on BOE Server:
BOE XI 3.1 SP2
SAP Integration Kits XI 3.1 SP2
Installation on BW:
SAP BW 7

Created crystal report on top of SAP BW Query, and save/publish the Crystal Report into BOE Server directly via Crystal Report ->File ->Save as (I understand that we can also save the Crystal Report into BW role, then publish the Crystal Report into BOE Server via the BW Publish, but we're not using the BW Publish option here).
Now user can logon to BOE InfoView and execute/display the Crystal Report, no problem.
My question is in BOE Server, is there any functionality that allow us to execute the Crystal Report and send it to the user automatically via email? Just like the BEx Broadcaster functionality in SAP BW 7.
If yes, how can I do it?
Any help is appreciated.

I can see where to schedule the Crystal Reprot to run in the background and send out via email option.
However, I dont see how the report can be sent out from BOE server. Is there any setting need to be done so that BOE Server can send out the crystal report?

Crystal Reports 2008 SP2 Installation Error

Howdy Folks...
I have been trying to install the SP2 for Crystal Reports.
I get the following error...
"The installaion source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it."
Running the downloaded file, unpacks the contents, starts the installer, then the error message is displayed.
System is with Windows Vista SP2

Yes, mapping the network drive on the install PC works, technically. Unfortunately, it doesn't resolve my core problem for two reasons.
1. I'm trying to make the install procedure as touchless as possible for an install base of potentially hundreds of users. Having them all map a network drive would defeat the purpose.
2. I oversimplified the explanation of my situation to make the question easier to ask. We actually have a home-grown, web-based client software distribution tool from which I'm trying to setup the installation. The network drive, and generally all details of the installation are transparent to the installer, so that's another strike against mapping the network drive.
Here's the command line script (nothing fancy) and the code of the supplemental .ini file that I'm using. (This assumes that the self-extracting Crystal SP2 file has already been extracted and that I'm working directly with the setup.exe, setup.ini, and package files.)
And to reiterate, this scripting procedure has worked like a charm for Xcelsius SP3 and Crystal SP1. It just falls flat on its face for Crystal SP2

Crystal Reports 2008 - automation and scheduling

Hey there Crystal Reports experts... please answer this question:
I've been evaluating the Crystal Reports 2008 package (client package) and have been able to generate some nice summary reports form our SQL database using summary pages which have multiple (up to 4) embedded sub-reports in them. I think it's doing what I need it to, but my next hurdle is to automate the summary report for 100+ different customers of ours. The criteria which changes for each customer is a table value in each subreport as well as the date range for the data on the report. I also need to have the title in the report header of each customer, change to reflect the different customer name and date range.
Is there a way to automate this with the standard Crystal Reports 2008 version? I've found a few 3rd party applications online that take care of the Crystal Report automation and scheduling as well as conditional data selection at the same time... is that what I need to use if we don't have ther server version of Crystal, or can I automate it using just the standard 2008 client version??

Yes, you need the CR 2008 client license to create the reports and then the server license to distribute the reports.
CR Server 2008 is a single server reporting solution for distributing Crystal Reports only. BOE is a full BI server that can be scaled beyond a single server solution. In addition to just reporting it has other capabilities such as ad hoc query and analysis, dashboarding/scorecarding, etc.
CR Server 2008 currently does not include the "Publishing" functionality yet. Therefore, if you schedule the report to email, all users will see the exact same report. BOE XI 3.1 does have "Publishing" which lets you burst the report so that through a single schedule, each user only sees their slice of the data for that report. You can still use CR Server to accomplish something similar, but it would require you to setup an individual schedule per every customer where each schedule is configured to only return the appropriate data for that customer. This would require a little more effort to setup and maintain.

How to get the parameter from Java Script into the Parameter crystal Report

Crystal Report is integrated with Oracle 10g. I created the base SQL query for col1, col2, col3 and col4. Java Script pass parameter value (185) to Col1.
My question is how to create crystal report to make Col1 as parameter and how to get the parameter value 185(Col1) from Java Script. Is there any additional code I need to include in the crystal report?
FYI.
Java script sends the right parameter value.There is no issue in java script.
This is an automatic scheduled process when batch runs, Java script should pass the parameter value and the crystal report should get the value and produce the output report.

Not sure if this is an application question or if you are trying to hook into Crystal Reports parameter UI? If the later then no option other than report design. If an application then I can move this to the Java Forums.
If you are asking how to alter the parameters I suggest you remove the Java reference and post a new question so it's not confusing the issue.

we are using Lotus Notes and Crystal Reports for preview and printing reports from our Lotus Notes Applications. We use the RDC object model. For previewing the reports we export them in an pdf-file and then start the PDF Reader to show the Preview. This works fine.
But with Crystal Reports > 11 the RDC Object Model is no longer supportet, so we look for another way to preview and print our reports.
I try to preview a report build with crystal report XI release 2 in my thick client (Lotus Notes) using java reporting component JRC, this report uses an native xml file as datasource. If the datasource is saved with the report everything works fine, but otherwise I have the following error:
JRCAgent1 detected an exception: javax.xml.namespace.QName: method getPrefix()Ljava/lang/String; not found
I also tried the .jars from Crystal4Eclipse. Doesn't work. When I use Eclipse to view the report everything works fine. The class QName exitsts in the jaxrpc.jar and in the xbean.jar, but only in the xbean.jar a Methode getPrefix exists.
This is what we tried:
Works fine with RDC. Doesn't work with JRC until now.

EDITING SQL SCRIPT IN CRYSTAL REPORTS

I just installed Version 12 and am trying to edit SQL scripts in Crystal Reports that were created in Version 8. When opening the Database tab on the Main Menu, the Query Panel is greyed out and not accessible. I can view the SQL Query but cannot edit it. If someone can advise me what to do I would be very appreciative.

Here is the SAP Note that says that you cannot edit SQL from Crystal 9 and later
Symptom
In Crystal Reports (CR) 8.5 and earlier, it is possible to edit the SQL statement in the 'Show SQL Query' dialog box. Doing so allows the report designer to modify the SQL statement that CR generates. Starting with Crystal Reports version 9, users are no longer able to modify the SQL in the 'Show SQL Query' window.
How can you control the SQL statement that Crystal Reports sends to the database?
Resolution
To control the SQL statement that Crystal Reports 9 and later uses, use the 'Add Command' feature to create a Command Object. The 'Add Command' feature replaces the ability to edit SQL statements in the 'Show SQL Query' dialog box. Use this dialog box to write your own SQL command (query) which will be represented in Crystal Reports as a Table object.

Using HTML script in Crystal Reports??

Hi,
You can't design a report using HTML script. I'm not exactly clear on what you want to do but if you have an HTML app, you have to design the report in Crystal and from your application, call the viewer. This will allow you to have the report appear in your program.
If you are talking about formatting the report, you can set each object as a class in your CSS and call it from your program.
I guess a little more information on what you are trying to accomplish may help answer your question more directly.

Well I found a temporary fix for this issue. I put the http://www.businessobjects.com/ as a trusted site in IE!!
First, get the URL of the site to trust. For example, " http://www.businessobjects.com/
.Next, Click on the "Tools" menu and select "Internet Options". Click on the "Security" tab.
Click on the green circle with a white check marked "Trusted Sites". In the space provided, enter the URL of the site (you'll probably want to uncheck the box requiring SSL, which is a high-security link, for all sites). Click the "Add" button. Continue entering sites until you have them all entered, then click OK as needed. If you find another trusted site later, simply go back to this menu item and enter the data.

Script Error on opening Crystal Reports

In the last couple of months a few computers in my office with Crystal Reports are having a few problems. The main one is on opening the program, I get the following error message:

Since this has been happening, I have noticed that Crystal will throw unhandled exceptions and just shut the program on more complex reports. It also cant check for updates.
I was just wondering whether this was anything to do with a Microsoft update or whether there is a fix for this problem.
I have Crytal Reports Developer Product Version 11.0.0.895 (I cannot run any updates) on Microsoft XP Pro.
I would be grateful for any ideas how I can solve this issue.

I don't know in which section to put this topic, so i posted it on a high level topic.I have 78 Crystal Reporst 9 reports that i want to automate. By running a script with parameters, i want to generate all the reports instead of doing this 78 times.For this i hade a contact with a BO-consultant and they told me that the automatization is possible with Crystal Reports Developer. So, i installed the evalution version of Crystal Reports XI Developer, but all i can see is that it is the Crystal Reports XI Standard!!Or i have been wrong informed or i don't know how to open the CRDev environment?How can i open the developing environment from CRDev?Kind Regards

How generate a crystal reports layout for Batch Report

Dear Experts,
I want to create a crystal reports layout for Batch Report that appears when printing Delivery Note.
I've tried using DocKey@ token but it only works in the delivery note layout itself. The following code at the select expert for this crystal layout doesn't work:

I am using version 8.8 SP.00 PL.10
It is very strange that I cannot get the layout connected to the database as I have followed the same steps for all layouts. It all works fine until I get to the invoice stage and then I cannot make the connection.
(I dont need to worry about the sales invoice as this was provided at installation point by our vendor)
