Distribution and data collection (first attempt)

I created a form that I will distribute manually over email. I'm asking users to submit their answers to a local drive and I collect the data with the built-in spreadsheet. I have some questions regarding the behavior of this system.
1-Is there a way to automatically identify the responder other than asking him to input a name and an email?
2-Is there a way to keep track of those that were sent a form but did not submit a result?
3-What happens if someones submits the same form twice with minor changes?
     -does it create a double entry?
     -does it overwrite the previous entry?
     -does it warn the distributor that a change has been made?
4-Do users need to have read/write access to the SPREADSHEET also?
     -if so, I don't want users to have the possibility to see other user's answers. Any idea?
     -if not, can I move that spreadsheet somewhere else at anytime without problems?
5-Regarding the spreadsheet, any way I can change the name of the columns or do I have to resort to field names?
6-Any way I can omit certain fields to be collected? (like checkfields that automates layout of the form)
7-How can I manipulate data from the spreadsheet to display in a more convenient way? (exporting data or importing from an excel file would be perfect)
That all for now. I hope someone as used enough of this function to be able to answer such specific questions.

This applies to PDF forms that have been Reader-enabled by Acrobat, not PDF forms that are enabled by FormsCentral. It's also not very accurately worded. The limitation imposed by the Acrobat License Agreement can be summarized with the following:
If a Reader-enabled form is distributed (i.e., made available) to more than 500 people, you are limited to using data from no more than 500 instances (including hardcopies) of the form that have been returned to you. If a form is distributed to 500 or fewer people, there is no limitation on the number of returned forms that you may use data from.
It isn't worded well because the license specifically states that you may distribute an enabled document to an unlimited number of recipients. The limitiation is on the number of forms you are allowed to use data from, not on the number of people you are allowed to collect forms from.

IOP uploadable reports are used for sending data to the server in batch. They are coupled to the IOP model via a rowsource. You have a lot of flexibility with the spreadsheet you build for staging the upload. It's really just a function of how crafty you are with vb. Cascading changes from one column to another can be easily accomplished this way.
Onchange formulas are for something else. They are part of the model definition and are used for describing how to cascade changes between IOP data blocks.

Can I allow two attempts and after the first attempt have a new window open to a url?

I would like to allow the user two attempts to answer a question. However, after the first attempt, if they get it wrong, I would like a new window to open that takes them to a tutorial Web site we have, where they can find the answer. Then I would like them to be able to close that window and return to the question for the second attempt?
Is this possible?
Right now, I have designed a very clunky version of this. I have one question slide with one attempt and if they answer wrong, they go to the next slide, which has a button to the tutorial page. Then the same question slide is repeated, again with one attempt. In this same scenario, if the person got the question right the first time, they moved on to a new question slide. This works, but is bad for scoring and eliminates the possibility of using question pools and putting questions in random order.

100 feet would normally not be a problem......if the AirPorts have line-of-sight with each other......but if there are obstructions like walls, ceilings or furniture in the direct signal path between the AirPorts, little if any of the signal will even reach the extending AirPort.
Try locating the extending AirPort at about 50-60 feet away to see if can pick up a stronger signal to extend.
It would be much better if you connect the AirPorts using an Ethernet cable, as there is no signal loss in an Ethernet cable up to 300+ feet.

Task server and data collection

I'm going to be setting up a task server shortly, to help centralize the collection of asset info. When I add computers to my ARD Admin app, I'm going to stagger the timing of report data upload by department, so that I don't have hundreds of machines reporting in all at once.
I'm wondering, after I configure all this, when my junior admins ad a machine to their ARD app, they'll wipe out the upload schedule I've already set. They'll need to Uncheck the box to 'Apply default data upload schedule', right?

SELECT-OPTIONS and data collection

Hi All,
I have one inputfield (say users) via SELECT-OPTIONS and it goes to an internal table called "userlist" with values USER1, USER2 etc...(Example)
Now, when I query the database with "userlist" as the input, I'm not able to do so because SELECT-OPTIONS contains an Internal table with values LOW, HIGH etc...
So my input value goes like this IEQUSER1, IEQUSER2 etc......
Could anyone tell me what should I do in order to get USER1, USER2 etc.

Data Collection - values remained filled in from previous run through route

Hello,
We have an SFC that is running through a route the second time that requires specific Data Collection to be captured, but when Data Collection is attempted the values are all pre-filled in (and grayed out) from the previous run through the route.
The Data Collection needs to be entered in each time it is run through this route, especially if it is an RMA no matter how many times.
Am I missing a setting somewhere?

The product goes through a normal route and is completed, SFC status = DONE.
The Product comes back and goes through an RMA route. First Operation data needs to be collected so it is entered by the Operator. The Product continues on and is completed, SFC status = DONE.
The Product comes back a second time and goes through the same RMA route. First Operation data needs to be collected, but it is already filled in with the data from the first time it went through the RMA route.
I was just wondering if I missed a configuration part or if this is a bug?

Performance Monitor Remote Data Collection unable to get data

When attempting data collection of a remote Windows 2008 server (Server_B) from another W2k8 server (Server_A) I receive the following error: "When attempting to start the Data Collector Set the following system error occurred: No data to
return."
However remote real-time monitoring of Server_B is no problem. Also, local real-time monitoring and data collection of Server_A is successful.
Is the error due to security restrictions?

Would you please let me know whether have administrator rights on the server trying to collect data collector set?
Please type services.msc on RUN. When Services panel opened, please navigate to Performance Logs & Alerts
service and check if it started. Meanwhile, please temporarily disable firewall and monitor the result.
In addition, please refer to following KB and check if can help you.
The Data Collector Set may not start on a computer that is
running Windows Server 2008 or Windows Vista
Performance Monitor data collector set does not collect all
required performance counter data in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2

Data Collection job collection_set_2_upload failed

We had a standalone server which was SQL server 2000 R2. I had configued the Data Collection job and uploded the data into our Management Data Warehouse. It had worked fine. One week ago, the standalone server was re-built and
then I found that all 4 jobs didn't work.

collection_set_2_upload
collection_set_3_collection
collection_set_3_upload
I re-configured both Management Data Warehouse and Data Collection. Now the two collection_set_2_collection and collection_set_3_collection worked fine. However the two collction_set_2_upload and collection_set_3_upload didn't work with an error "the
step did not generate any output". I cleaned up all DataCollectorCache files on the standalone server but the error stayed.
Any idea? Thank you for any kind of suggestion.

Based on my understanding, you configured Data Collection job. Then two upload jobs didn't work with an error "the step did not generate any output". And error also existed after cleaning up Data Collector cache files.
New data cannot be uploaded to the Management Data Warehouse database when one or more Data Collector cache files are corrupted. The corruption may be caused for one of the following reasons:
Data Collector encountered an exception.
The disk runs out of free space while Data Collector is writing to a cache file.
A firmware or a driver problem occurs.
So I suggest you double check if Data Collection cache files are cleaned up completely. For more information, please refer to this kb:

If issue persists exist, please check the agent job history to find the error log around the time issue caused. It would be better if you could provide detail error information for our further analysis. About how to check agent job history, please refer

At the moment i've set up the attached but I can only get it to input one set of values. how can I get it to continuosly output the files? Secondly I would rather out put them to a spreadsheet format, with the five different numbers (three from I/O assistant and two from Date/Time String) in diferent columns? Im trying to use the write spreadsheet VI but it needs an orange connection?

Form distribution and collection by e-mail alone?

I am trying to set up an automated system for data collection via Acrobat-generated forms. But, the respondents are in rural Africa and have at best lousy internet access and can barely manage e-mail. Do the form distribution and collection functions of Acrobat work when using e-mail back and forth alone, or is a connection to Acrobat.com required?

Yes, it can work if the forms are sent by email. The idea is they are sent to you, and you use Acrobat to add them to Tracker. Or you can not use Tracker and just manage the data yourself.

So... I don't want to do that, but I do what to be able to Manage my music. I'm not sure what it means by being synced to another iTunes unless it means to an older version of itunes?

I cannot address the sync services error right now, but the error that you receive when you change from sync to manually manage music is what happens when you change. Once you change to manually manage music, it erases all of the music and will only put the music that you want on the phone, content that you manually drag over to it. I made an earlier posting today on the forum titled “‘ORA-01861: literal does not match format string’ error after my hosting company upgraded to Apex 3.2.” The issue relates to Apex collections and dates. Prior to the hosting company upgrading Apex 3.2 from 3.1 all was working OK. It seemed a reasonable assumption that the issue relates to the upgrade to 3.2. Having tested the code against another Apex 3.2 installation I am satisfied that the issue is not with Apex 3.2. That said, I am still getting the issue on the hosting site.
To demonstrate the issue to my hosting company and this forum, I put together a simple one page application that demonstrates the issue using the least amount of code.
I created a page with an ‘On Load – Before header” process that sets up an Apex Collection with a single value of ’20-FEB-2009’ in the c001 element as follows:

I added an SQL REPORT region to the page which uses the Apex Collection as follows:

= to_date(c001,'DD-MON-YYYY')
When the page is run I get the ‘ORA-01861: literal does not match format string’ error.
If I remove the following from the SQL Report Region:
and to_date('20-FEB-2009','DD-MON-YYYY')
= to_date(c001,'DD-MON-YYYY')
and run the page, the date is displayed OK, i.e., c001 is converted to a date OK. This made me wonder whether it does not like the line to_date('20-FEB-2009','DD-MON-YYYY')? So I changed the where code for the report to :
and to_date(c001,'DD-MON-YYYY')
= to_date(c001,'DD-MON-YYYY')
i.e., convert c001 to a date and compare it to itself. The rationale being that if the c001 converts to a date OK, then comparing c001 converted to a date with itself should not give an error. It did it gave the same error ‘ORA-01861’
It would seem on my hosting site since the upgrade, that Apex and Oracle have problems with Apex Collection elements being converted to dates as part of the where clause.
Now my understating of Oracle Apex collections in simple terms is that all Apex collections are held in a single Oracle table managed by a series of Apex functions. Given that all Apex collections are in the same table, could the issue be with the Oracle database when it is creating its execution plan for the query? Could Oracle be including the value of c001 from other collections (i.e., when c001 is not in a date format ) in the initial stages of its execution plan?

I believe I have found the answer the statistics on WWV_FLOW_COLLECTIONS$ and WWV_FLOW_COLLECTION_MEMBERS$. are out of date and Oracle is doing a full table scan instead of using the indices to select only the c001 columns that belong to the given collection_id. If I change my simple example to store the date value in c050 it works ok. (In all probability this will be the only collection on the hosted database to use c050).
I have asked the hosting company to gather stats on all the apex tables.

First attempt at Producer Consumer Architecture: continuous read and dynamically update parameters.

I am currently working with two instruments; an Agilent E3646A and an NI 6212 BNC. My objective is to have the 6212 to be continuously taking measurements according to predefined parameters while the E3646A's parameters can be continuously updated. This simple instrument combination is intended to help me learn the necessarry achitecture; continuous measurement, dynamic output control, and more instruments will be added in the future.
I've previously posted on a similar, but more complicated, setup (http://forums.ni.com/t5/Instrument-Control-GPIB-Serial/Split-second-lag-when-controlling-two-instrum... and was advised to try the Producer Consumer Architecture. I've found relevant literature on the site (http://www.ni.com/white-paper/3023/en/, https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-2431), searched the forums and constructed my own VI. While my first attempt at a Producer Consumer Architecture has resolved some of the issues I was having when I first posted on the subject, however, new issues have arisen with regard to reading and stopping the VI.
I am currently able to run the VI and update the device parameters. Previously, I would get a freeze while the instrument was being updated and could not toggle parameters until it was done. This has been resolved although the read only updates when a parameter has been updated although it is outside of the event structure. Furthermore the Stop button does not work in any context. I've also gotten occasional errors regarding the Deqeue Element but the bulk of the trouble is Error -200279 "Attempted to read samples that are no longer available" at DAQmx Read. I realize that there is a problem in my Producer Loop but haven't been able to figure out how to resolve it.
This is my first attempt at a Producer Consumer Architecture and already I can see that it is a powerful tool. I read as much as I could and looked at the relevant examples but expected to have some issues in the beginning. Would really appreciate any advice so I can take full advantage of the architecture.

Thank you for the response and the suggestions.
I created the Local Variable for the Stop Button and moved the original into its own Event Case. It is now able to stop VI execution although I get Warning -1073676294 which I understand to be the buffer issue. The warning says that this was incurred on VISA Open for the E3646A's Initialize VI which is outside both loops, however, which I don't understand.
I tried increasing buffer size by decreasing the Number of Samples as per suggestions I found on NI forum threads. I've brought it down as low as 1 but the graph still only updates when an Event occurs and I keep getting the same buffer error. You suggested that the problem could be that they are in the same loop; does this mean that the DAQmx read should be outside both Producer and Consumer Loops or moved into the Consumer Loop? I found a couple of links ( http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Producer-Consumer-Design-Pattern-DAQmx-Event-Structure/td-p/2744450 , http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Producer-Consumer-Architecture/td-p/494883 -first response) on dealing with an Event Structure that my own VI is based. Alternatively, I found another link ( http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Producer-Consumer-Design-Pattern-DAQmx-Event-Structure/td-p/2744450 - first response) on a DAQmx Read with an Event Structure that places the graph in the Consumer Loop.
The core of my purpose in setting up this Producer Consumer Architecture is so that I could read continuously while the instrument parameters are updated dynamically so it's very important that I understand how this works. I am particularly struggling with how the Event Structure is controlling the While Loop's Execution.

iTunes stores your iPhone backups in the Library folder in your Home folder.
iTunes places the backup files in these places:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Create and delete iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch backups in iTunes
