Distribution of ActionScript 3 project

Hi All,
What does the license says when somebody has developed a project with AS3 and want to sell it as an on-line software? Are there any limitations what so ever?
(if the post is in wrong category please re-locate)
Thanks in advance.

the only limitations are you're not allowed to represent that your product is made by adobe and you're not allowed to use any adobe logos

  • How do I use Embed with an environment variable in an Actionscript AIR project Flash Builder 4.7

    I am using Flash Builder 4.7 to build an Actionscript AIR project.  The project embeds a number of png files from my local directory and I have been using absolute paths which all works fine.
    I have a laptop with which I want to start developing the same project - I set up a git repository that both the laptop and main pc can pull from and so I can get the source where I need it and push it back to the central repository.
    My problem is that the absolute paths for the embed commands don't work on the laptop as it has a different filesystem setup (Windows 8 with one drive as opposed to Windows 7 with a SSD and a data drive).  I thought the solution would be as easy as using an environment variable to specify the path which could then point to a different physical directory on both machines, i.e:
    [Embed(source = "DEVELOPER_RESOURCES/graphics/are/here.png"]
    I did a bit of research and there was quite a lot mentioned about setting up resource directories using path variables which I worked through but I just can't get it to compile.  The Actionscript compiler just won't find the png files however I specify the path.  I tried something with a FLEX project and the compiler didn't complain but I think this is because the compiler for FLEX uses a different convention.
    [Embed(source ="/Project Name/DEVELOPER_RESOURCES/graphics/are/here.png"]  works with FLEX but not Actionscript.
    So does anyone have a recipe for using the Embed command referencing assets using an environment variable that works across multiple machines with different file structures?

    I managed to find a solution on Windows which was to use symlinks and absolute paths.  You an basically point one directory to another so I did something like:
    mklink c:\developer_resources c:/the/local/path/to/my/resources
    and then reference all resources as c:\developer_resources\...
    Now as long as a developer machine has the right link (from c:\developer_resources to the place where the resources are kept) then it seems to work.
    This doesn't however work for Mac and certainly isn't a solution for passing files between Mac and windows

    I just bought a brand new ipad for testing. I am using flash buider 4.7 to make an actionscript mobile project. I created an app ID, provisioning profile, and certificate. I have no idea where to even start in trying to figure out what could be the problem. I am pretty sure the itunes developer information is correct. Are there any kinds of drivers or developer modes that I need to set for a new iPad?
    Thanks!

    Thanks Shongrunden for your reply.
    Yes, you are right. If I make a new Flex mobile project, I did not see the issue.
    But that did not fully answer my question, my concern is: can an actionscript project use spark components?
    Thanks.

  • Any sample ActionScript mobile project for iOS

    Hi,
    I am looking for some sample example of ActionScript mobile project for iOS to get started. I am very excited with new flash builder 4.5 tool but looking for some example so that I can quickly try it.

  • No exiting event detected for an actionscript mobile project

    Would like to launch a dispose() when the program close on Android, but the dispose() never launch....

  • AIR 3.8, ActionScript-only projects, which SDK?

    Hey all,
    I haven't seen the box appear before on the AIR SDK download page that Flex users should download an alternate version. Does this also pertain to projects in Flash Builder (4.7 Premium) that are ActionScript for Mobile as well (which do not use Flex)? It seems like I should download the version that lets Flex work, otherwise are we going to have to continuously flip back and forth between the regular SDK and the Flex-friendly SDK depending on the project?

    Hi Shawn,
    Since AIR 3.8, we support only PIE enabled binaries, as per Apple recommendation.
    For this, the minimum supported iOS version is 4.2. The ANE you are using specifies a minimum iOS version of 4.0 in its platform-iphone.xml, present at: https://github.com/alebianco/ANE-Google-Analytics/blob/master/build/platform-iphone.xml
    You will need to change the line:
    <option>-ios_version_min 4.0</option>
    to:
    <option>-ios_version_min 4.2</option>
    and rebuild the ANE to make it work.

  • How to Setup Flash Builder ActionScript only project for iPad?

    Hello!
    Can someone give a short guide on how to setup an ActionScript only prject in flash builder such that it can be compiled using adt and deployed to the iPad?
    i created successfully iphone games using FlashIDE and PFI.
    now I'd like to create an iPad app using Flash Builder (ActionScript only). but I fail to load the compiled IPA to the ipad, keep getting different errormessages thus i think something with my projectsetup is wrong

    Yes, in Terminal you type a single line which is made from the path to the adt application, some parameters, and paths to other documents. Here's the full list of things:
    /Location/to/AdobeAIRSDK_2.6/bin/adt
    -package
    -target ipa-test
    -provisioning-profile /Location/to/Provision.mobileprovision
    -storetype pkcs12
    -keystore /Location/to/Certificates.p12
    -storepass password
    NameOfApp.ipa ApplicationDescriptor-app.xml
    -C /Location/to/swf  NameOfApp.swf
    splashscreens
    icons
    That "-C" line is clever, it does a directory change to the folder you give it, so after the -C /location/to/swf part it will then look in that same folder for other documents, and for where to build the IPA file.

  • How to default distribution account through purchase requisition, selecting the project expenditure type

    Dear All,
    How to default distribution account through purchase requisition, selecting the project expenditure type
    Thanks
    Abdul.

    Hi Abdul,
    If you meant defaulting Purchase Order distribution accounts from the (backing) requisition, then the accounts from requisitions will default into the autocreated PO.
    If you seek to default distribution accounts for Purchase Requisition using Projects, then the account generator need to have customized rules defined to default account for project enabled distributions based on the Project/Task/Organization/Expenditure Type/Date combination entered.
    This note is an extract from the user's guide, and has good detail on defaulting rules of accounts for Purchase Documents:
    How Does The Account Generator Default The Accounts In Oracle Purchasing? (Doc ID 1067139.1)
    Hope this helps.

  • Charting components for actionscript project

    hi -
    I have an actionscript project going (ie, not flex) and I want to use some kind of charting components
    I'm complining as desktop appilication, ie, I am running on the AIR platform
    because it's an actionscript-only project I dont think I can use any of the mx.* classes -- is this true? would be good to confirm that
    given that, I think my only option is to find a third-part charting package that's AS3-only
    any suggestions?
    thanks

    Tried compiling it using the FlexBuilder IDE? There's nothing
    wrong with your code, so it sounds like your compiler doesn't know
    where to find the libraries, or is looking in the wrong place. Are
    you giving an explicit library-path argument?

    HI,
    When i am going to click on distribution after entering the project related header or line info. . . . .so its shows an error which stated that the default workflow for the payable account function project supplier charge account has not been customized.
    any body help me on this .
    thanx in advance
    regards
    umais

    Hi,
    The default process “Generate default account” contains nothing more than a dummy procedure (PA_ACC_GEN_WF_PKG.AP_INV_ACC_UNDEFINED_RULES) which generates the following message and aborts:
    "The default workflow for the Oracle Payables account function Project Supplier Invoice charge Account has not been customised.Please replace the dummy function in the default process for account generation by your own account generation method".
    Replace this dummy function with your custom workflow process name and save it.

  • Error 7 occurred while building source distribution in labview 8

    I can build exe file and  installer for my project. But while trying to build source distribution i got an error. Error description is as follows:
    Error 7 occurred at ABAPI Dist Report Read Link Info Error.vi -> ABAPI Dist Cmp Settings to Disk Hier.vi -> ABAPI Get Settings From File.vi -> SDBEP_Invoke_Build_Engine.vi -> SDBUIP_Build_Invoke.vi -> SDBUIP_Build_Invoke.vi.ProxyCaller

    LabVIEW:  File not found. The file might have been moved or deleted, or the file path might be incorrectly formatted for the operating system. For example, use \ as path separators on Windows, : on Mac OS, and / on Linux.

    Hi Andy,
    FYI, initially part of this project was developed in LabVIEW 7.1 and now I have
    converted all the project files to LabVIEW 8.0. This was done by mass compiling and
    saving all the VIs.
    It is possible for me to build source distribution for some other programs. But I got the error while building source distribution for my current project. Same error was generated even while previewing the source distribution. This project contains some dynamic VIs. I had included them under the dynamic VIs and support files while creating EXE file. While building source distribution, i got an error message saying that :
    "Unable to generate preview. An included VI or one of its dependencies does not exist. Open all Startup/Exported/Dynamically called VIs, recompile them  (Ctrl-Shift Click the run arrow), and save them to update their dependencies.

    LabVIEW:  File not found. The file might have been moved or deleted, or the file path might be incorrectly formatted for the operating system. For example, use \ as path separators on Windows, : on Mac OS, and / on Linux."
    For this error I rename the control, relink it in the code, and save the VI. Now I got an error message indicating different control. I was totally confused by this behaviour. What is the problem? Why the problem occured? What procedure to follow to avoid these kind of errors in future? I would be thankful, if I can get answers for my questions.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Unable to do adjustments for PO Receipt Accrual in Oracle Projects

    We are working on Release 11.5.10.
    The Allow Adjustments flag for the transaction sources in Projects for receipt accruals (Oracle Purchasing Receipt Accruals) and For Supplier Invoices (Oracle Payables Invoice Variance) are not updatable. Since we are using the Accrue on Receipt option, so only the Invoice variance amount is tranferred to Oracle Projects from Accounts payables. There are situations when the cost gets booked to a wrong task or wrong Project. In such case the adjustments to receipt accruals and Invoice Variance needs to be done. But the same cannot happen in Oracle projects without enabling the Allow Adjustments flag, which is not updatable in Release 11i. How can we make any adjustments to receipt accruals and Supplier Invoices matched with the PO Receipts in Release 11i?
    Appreciate any Pointers on this.

    Hi
    In PO receiving form, enter a transaction of type Correction or Return to Receiving, with minus the quantity you want to adjust. This will be a negative transaction to the original project and task.
    Then update the PO line distribution to the new project and task. Finally enter another receipt / deliver transaction to the new project and task.
    Run the PRC: Interface Supplier Cost. This process will create new transactions in the old and new projects. The new transactions are linked to the same PO, same line number as the original PO Accrual transaction.
    If the supplier invoice have not yet entered in AP, then entering a supplier invoice, matching to the PO will get the variances charge to the new project.
    Other wise, you might want to reverse the matching, and reenter the match to the new distribution.
    You could also enter a MIX supplier invoice which has the amount as zero. In such invoice enter a negative distribution line to the old project, and a positive distribution line to the new project.

  • Creating workers in library projects?

    I'm trying to move a worker I created on Flash Builder 4.7 / AIR 3.4 from a stand-alone project to a library. I've tried using the new "ActionScript Library Project" wizard, which uses the correct AIR 3.4 SDK, but it does not inclue any of the facilities for creating and managing workers that exist in applications created with the "ActionScript Project" wizard.
    When I attempt to create a worker in the ActionScript library, I get a pop-up that says "Selected Project is not Flex or ActionScript: You must create a Flex or ActionScript project to hold this file."
    Is this something that's slated for support in a future release of the 4.7 beta, or is there some fundamental reason workers can't live in library projects?
    Thanks in advance for any help with this.

    You are both partially right,
    I fixed it by creating a new workspace (just deleted the
    metadata folder) and re-importing my projects..
    Then i removed the libraries and it worked, i started to add
    the libraries one by one and the library that breaks it is
    'FlexUnitOptional.swc'...
    Thanks a lot..
    I still have one problem open with the new flex builder, i
    cannot debug in modules, i also posted it on the forum. Which is
    over here:

  • The selected Flex SDK does not support building mobile projects

    I am unable to create a new Actionscript Mobile project.  The new project dialogue gives the error: "The selected Flex SDK does not support building mobile projects."  I tried seting the default Flec SDK both to the SDK included with Flash Builder 4.7, and also to a version of the 4.6.0 SDK (build 23201) with AIR 3.3 SDK overlayed on it, which already existed on my computer.  Both resulted in the same error.  Any ideas?

    Hi ,
    Actionscript Mobile projects use AIR SDK by default in Flash Builder 4.7 . Flex SDK won't be used for Actionscript projects.
    Could you please try creating an Actionscript project in fresh workspace and let me know if the issue still exists.
    Also attach screenshot and error log if any.
    Thanks,

  • Flex Mobile project scaling with Retina display iPad (3rd gen).

    Adobe et al,
    With the new iPad 3 we now have a ton more pixels to utilize. I'm familiar with and have already successfully tested the AIR 3.1+ commandline compiler option (-platformsdk) to get Retina display on the new iPad. In ActionScript mobile projects the content is rendered beautifully on the new iPad. But with Flex Mobile projects, something is happening that causes it to render incorrectly. It's retina display alright, but the size is way too small.
    Below is an image WITHOUT the -platformsdk build tag, that causes the app to be pixel doubled to fit on the new iPad:
    Notice that it's scaled proportionally, even though the text and components are slightly pixelated. Not a big deal, but noticeable on the device.
    This image is taken with the app rendering in Retina display (setting the -platformsdk pointing to iOS 5.1 SDK):
    As you can see, the text/components are rendered really clear, but the scale is way off. Obviously it's getting the width of 2048x1536 from the device, but it's way too small.
    How do I fix this? I've tried changing the applicationDPI, but it doesn't fix it. Setting a width/height of 1024x768 does nothing either. It seems we need to overrride a behavior that causes it to fit everything in so small.
    A little help?
    Thanks,
    iBrent

    Alright, kevinkorngut's answer was the right one. It appears that even though AIR 3.x can render high resolution apps, it still returns the incorrect DPI for the new iPad. In a Flex Mobile project you have to override the DPI using the method mentioned above.
    Here are the results I got:
    Using the runtimeDPIProvider property on the TabViewApplication tag (works for any of the three project types) I created a class that extends RuntimeDPIProvider. To detect which iPad I was on, I used the following code:
    override public function get runtimeDPI():Number
         var os:String = Capabilities.os;
         if(os.indexOf("iPad") != -1)
              if(Capabilities.screenResolutionX > 2000 || Capabilities.screenResolutionY > 2000)
                   return DPIClassification.DPI_320;
              } else {
                   return DPIClassification.DPI_160;
         } else {
              return Capabilities.screenDPI;
    I'm returning a DPI of 320 as this gives the best result that matches the proportions of the device. In other words, even though the iPad DPI is 264, setting the app to 320 gives the correct size at the new Retina display.
    In order for this to work, you must compile the app with the -platformsdk flag pointing to iOS 5.1 SDK, and currently that means you need a Mac running Lion with Xcode 4.3.1. Here's the adt command I used:
    adt -package -target ipa-test -storetype pkcs12 -keystore ~/Desktop/iOS_DevCert.p12 -provisioning-profile ~/Desktop/iOS_DevProfile.mobileprovision newiPadTest.ipa newiPadTest-app.xml newiPadTest.swf -platformsdk /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPh oneOS5.1.sdk
    Also, the -app.xml descriptor file must have the <requestedDisplayResolution>high</requestedDisplayResolution> within the <iPhone> tags.
    Thanks everyone for their replies!
    iBrent
