Dividing string into specific parts

Hi, I am trying to write a program that will convert a domain name into a Java package name, for instance forum.java.sun would be sun.java.forum.
I have the scanner class search for the periods, but all that does is find the index of the periods for me. Is there a way to divide the domain name into three parts? If so, would I have to store them in three seperate variables and then used the reverse() function to switch them around?
Thanks.

should display the next four Quarter (each divided in 2 half  i.e. Eight values ) along with the year  from the selected Audit plan start date.
for eg. If the Plan start date is given as August 10 2013 then the Time window will display the following options:

  • Need to Divide the string into multiple integers

i have the String like below, that passed by user though one parameter.
200 300 400 500 600(This come from one parameter as a String with space between each value).
i need to use each above value in different column calculations.
anybody help me how can i divide whole string into multiple integer values and use it in other calculations.
    Thanks in advance.

You will need to use substr and instr functions to get each value. The instr function returns the location of a space in your parameter value..
To get the first value, use this: <?xdofx:substr(AMOUNT,1,(Instr(AMOUNT,' ',1,1)-1))?>
    To get second value: <?xdofx:substr(AMOUNT,Instr(AMOUNT,' ',1,1)+1, (Instr(AMOUNT,' ',1,2)-1)- Instr(AMOUNT,' ',1,1)+1)?>
    To get third value: <?xdofx:substr(AMOUNT, Instr(AMOUNT,' ',1,2)+1, (Instr(AMOUNT,' ',1,3)- 1) -Instr(AMOUNT,' ',1,2)+1)?>
    and so on..

  • Dividing Genrated PDF no  of  pages into two parts

    Dear Friends,
I have requirement in which i need to divide total number output pdf pages into two parts.
    E.g. If there are 10 pages Then   10 / 2 = 5
Before generation of pdf file from smartform it automatically divide by 2 and then show these files.
    How to do this?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ravi Grover

    Hi Rob,
when you call the function module of the smartform you have the output parameter:
    DOCUMENT_OUTPUT_INFO-TDFPAGES
It is the number of pages of the smartform.
Then... you can call the funtion module of smartform two times  :
1rst with the input field OUTPUT_OPTIONS-TDPAGESLCT from 1 to number of pages / 2
2nd  with the input field OUTPUT_OPTIONS-TDPAGESLCT from  number of pages / 2 to number of pages
    And generate both pdf.
    Bye!

Go to the Project Library View and select your project.
Then FILE/DUPLICATE PROJECT and give the duplicate a name like "your name - part 1".
Then duplicate it again and give the duplicate a name like "your name - part 2"
Now you can open "part 1" as a project and delete everything that is in part 2.
Open "part 2" as a project and delete everything that is in part 1.

What's the easiest way to embed a video into a specific part of an image map?
Anybody help? Is there a way to do this in Dreamweaver?

One way would be to create your image map first. Then, use the CSS property position to position the div containing the video player relative to the image map or absolute to the page (depending on how your website layout is).
Then, use an event listener (javascript) to enable the div holding the video player to show only when the specific area on the image map is clicked.

  • Does Logic has a divide (strings divisi) signal (midi) command?

I am working on a string orchestra piece and use a lot of divided string parts. I was wondering if Logic knows a command or way to automatically divide a strings section like 1st violins into two.
For example, in Finale 2010, the notation program, when I write the command "divisi" on a staff in the 1st violin staff, Finale changes somehow the sound of that track so it really sounds like a divided string group. In logic now the way I do it, it sounds like a doubled string track, so 2 groups of 1st violins what gives a doubled unrealistic sound.
I don't know if this is just a midi command in Finale that can be used in Logic as well.
    André

    Hi André,
In Logic you don't have those preprogramed patch changes like in Finale/Sibelius, (that's is something some of us asked and wait for some time, that the writing articulations on score could perform midi events instead being there for visually only) those patch changes can be performed via midi commands (same thing as pizz/arco), Yes.
The simplest way to do this (only if you use / share the same sound library in Logic and Finale) is apply the divisi and the other articulations in Finale and import the midi to Logic ( I did it a lot to save me time, even with crescendos) Logic will follow/performed the articulations in the midi file, if you have the same library on both, that's it.
If not you can see what the midi file (from finale) says in the event lists and apply it to the library you're using in Logic. (don't forget that you can copy those (and other) events in Logic.
    Cheers,
    Jorge

  • How to read and write a string into a txt.file

Hi, I am now using BEA Workshop for Weblogic Platform version10. I am using J2EE is my programming language. The problem I encounter is as the above title; how to read and write a string into a txt.file with a specific root directory? Do you have any sample codes to reference?
I hope someone can answer my question as soon as possible
    Thank you very much.

Accessing the file system directly from a web app is a bad idea for several reasons. See http://weblogs.java.net/blog/simongbrown/archive/2003/10/file_access_in.html for a great discussion of the topic.
On Weblogic there seems to be two ways to access files. First, use a File T3 connector from the console. Second, use java.net.URL with the file: protocol. The T3File object has been deprecated and suggests:
Deprecated in WebLogic Server 6.1. Use java.net.URL.openConnection() instead.

  • Passing a string into an SQL query IN statement

    Hello,
I need to connect to a database to pull some data to dynamically create a form based on the data I pull back. My SQL query works fine when I manually run it through a SQL client tool, but when I try to pass it through my workflow I'm having trouble with passing my string into the IN part of the statement. So if for example my SQL query is:
    SELECT Field1, Field2, Field3 FROM Table1 WHERE Field4 IN (?)
I have a process variable that has the string I'm trying to pass into the ?, but I don't seem to be able to get the query to run. I have tried setting up my query to run as a Parameterized Query (passing my string process variable into the ?), and by setting the query up through xPath (where I am calling my process variable with an xPath declaration), but am not having any luck.
The process variable I am trying to pass is formatted such that I'm passing 'Value1','Value2','Value3' but I can reformat this string if need be. Even with using test data I can't get the query to return anything. For test data I have tried: 'Value1','Value2','Value3' ; Value1','Value2','Value3 ; Value1,Value2,Value3 but the query never returns any data. I can't seem to see how to format the string to pass into the query. The Query will work with a single Value in the test data, but as soon as I try to pass multiple values within the string it fails. Any suggestions?

The problem looks to be a limit on what I can pass into the SQL query component. My string is coming from data returned from another database. I take the xml output from that database call, pass it through a set variable component to remove my xml tags from the string, and then format the string in a script component (I have to do it this way because of the way the data coming out of my first database call). I've put in loggers, and can see that the string I'm passing into my query that is giving me problems, is formatted the same way as if I were to use the concat function Scott listed above. It looks like there is a limitation on what can be passed in my variable. I have tried creating my entire SQL query statement in a set variable component, and then just calling the process variable that holds that statement, but there is a character limit of 128 character for what can be passed in a variable through xpath in the SQL query component.
The next thing I tried was changing my SQL where clause. Instead of passing my variable directly into the IN statement I set up a PATINDEX('%:'+countyname+ ':%', ?) > 0 call to check for the values in my database call. As you can see I took out the "," that I was passing as part of my string, thinking that the SQL component was getting confused by them, and placed ":" characters around my values being passed in my string variable. No matter what I try to do though I'm not able to get the query to run. The component looks like it is taking my string, and is seeing the whole thing as a string instead of passing it as individual values within a string.
I think I'm getting close, but I keep getting a Content not allowed in prolog exception in the server logs.

  • How can I use today's date as default value in query string filter web part in SharePoint

I have a query string filter on my web part page. I am trying to figure out how I can set it's default value to Today? I can't find anything online...

    Hi,
Per my understanding, you might want to set a default value to the Query String Filter Web Part.
It would not be able to set default value to the Query String Filter Web Part with the OOTB features available.
By default, with a Query String Filter Web Part in the current page, we can filter other web part in the same page by adding parameters and values in the address bar
    of browser.
If setting the “Query String Parameter Name” of a Query String Filter Web Part as “t”, then we can filter the corresponding connected web part by inputting such an
    URL into the address bar:
    http://sharepoint/SitePages/Page1.aspx?t=value1
Suppose you want to filter the list view with a value dynamically when user opens this page, as a workaround, we can generate an URL with the parameters needed when
page loaded, then redirect user to this URL afterwards. This can be achieved using JavaScript.
About how to redirect user to other page with an URL:
    http://www.tizag.com/javascriptT/javascriptredirect.php

  • Splitting faces-config.xml into multiple parts

    Hey Everybody,
I'm trying to split up my faces-config.xml file into application specific and deployment specific parts. I've managed to everything set-up so far but I'm having a problem with beans. I've got a bean which contains most of the application specific attributes but the problem is that some of the attributes are deployment specific and some are application specific.
In the past, I could get around this by having two faces-config.xml files which each defined the bean but only specified "their" attributes. But I've now found that I can only define the bean only once. The bean will get the attributes from one file but not the other. So how can I get around this? Could I do a faces-config.xml include statement? Do I have to create a deployment-specific bean?
    Mark

We have been referencing the same managed bean in different faces-config.xml files for a couple of years and it really did work until the latest release of JDeveloper. What we had been doing was to put properties that would change between the development and deployed versions in different faces-config.xml files; the goal being to isolate all the properties that needed to be changed for deployment in a single file that we could automatically replace with Ant when we build the production release.
But just because it worked in the past doesn't mean that it was supposed to work.
    Thanks,
