Dmarc - few emails with ironport hostname
Hi,
We have published SPF, DKIM and DMARC and now we start getting DMARC Reports. What is strange is that there are few messages that are send with email Ironport hostname? We have some situations when we return mail reject custome message but that message is sent as [email protected] not as ironport.hostname.local. How can we find what message is send with ironport hostname because if we search in message tracking “sender contains ironport.hostname – nothing is found”.

Beside that do you have some experience with DMARC and when some other companies have some auto forwarder rule - then forwarder does not rewrite sender and then you get DMARC fail results?
We have this problem as well.
I see lines like this from the ironport log:
Delayed: DCID XXXXXX MID YYYYYY to RID 0 - 4.1.0 - Unknown address error ('450', ['4.1.8 <[email protected]>: Sender address rejected: Domain not found']) []
I'm guessing from timing and frequency that this is actually the Ironport delivering its DMARC reports to other domains.
The only place in the config where that name is found is the Ironport host name.

Is ironport blocking emails with large attachements?
I have recently adjusted my exchange server to accept attachments as large as 25mb but still when I tried to send an email with an attachment of 15mb it still bounce back as 552 552 #5.3.4 message size exceeds limit (state 18).
I was wondering if need to adjust anything on my Ironport to make sure it allows those large emails. If so, I hope somebody could help out on how to do this adjustment.

In microsoft exchange everything is configured well, to send and receive upto 25 MB. Usermail box permission also set for sending 25 MB attachment. Evenif I can receive 15 MB attachment, it resulting in error while sending.
This was the error:-
mail.wrd.ae #550 5.3.4 SMTPSEND.OverAdvertisedSize; message size exceeds fixed maximum size ##
This message is generated by HUB-CASH server
No clue that email is screening by ironport.
Solution:-
Increase the message size limit in ironport
Mail Policies-> Mail Flow Polices -> Relay -> Max Message Size ->25 M
This relay is used for outgoing emails. (Note that the title for that page is confusing: Mail Flow Policy: RELAY - IncomingMail) -

I have a problem with a few emails i wrote which were in the outbox. The outbox disappeared all of a sudden with my mails... However they were not sent since the email address was not correct (just 3 initials). I was waiting to find out the correct email address of that person, put in in and then sen it...Is there a way to get it back somewhere on the ipad or in some cached folder?

Swisslady2There is no cache where the emails would be stored on the iPad, but you could try quitting the mail app and then launch it again and see if the emails return.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Tap the home button. Then try mail again. -
Sorry first post in this forum. I can log on to Yahoo email, read a few emails and then the infamous multi-colored spinning wheel appears and I end up having to shut down and cycle back in again. I have a 2011 MacBookPro 17 not quite a year and it just started acting up this way. Any suggestions. Thanx.

Can not view (some) emails with attachments
There has already been some discussion about individuals getting the "This message has not been downloaded from the server" error.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem? I am using GMail and am having problems reading (some) emails with attachments. I can read the first several lines through the preview view, but can not open (some) emails without getting the "This message has not been downloaded from the server" error.
The problem appears to be completely random. The problem occurs sometimes after I open the email on my computer, and other times it occurs before I open the email on my computer. And sometimes opening the email on my computer does not cause any problem opening the email on my phone.
I have seen this problem on two different phones now and have re-created the email accounts on both phone several times. But the problems keeps (eventually) appearing--for some, but not all emails.

I don't think that's the case. I have several week-old messages on my iPhone (each under 300k) that still say "The message has not been downloaded from the server."
I've been connected to wifi for over an hour now, so that's plenty of time to downloaded these few small emails. I can read the "preview" of the message from the Inbox screen, but when I click on the message itself, I get the error.
And, those messages with the attachments that I was able to open this morning? I can no longer open them now. Very, very frustrating. -
I have the latest Thunderbird installed on a new 64-bit Winblows Eight netbook.. fantastic program, but one problem is driving me absolutely batty, and after using the latest Thunderbird for weeks, I simply can't figure out how to fix it..
I'm on a lot of mfr. and other kinds of mailing lists, like eBay watch list alerts, and so on.. these are not s p a m (although I get plenty of that.. who doesn't).. but lists I WANT to be on..
Many such emails from those mailing lists are in HTML format with embedded graphics.. I'm not talking about graphic file attachments, but embedded graphics which are coming from the senders' servers, and appear AS a graphic in the email.. sometimes such emails are one huge graphic with hardly any text.. all well and good..
However, here's the problem.. when I want to forward such an email to a friend, Thunderbird ALWAYS formats it as plain ASCII text.. I know this because I look in the "sent mail" folder, and can see that it has turned an HTML email with embedded graphics into plain ASCII text..
I absolutely can't figure out how to get it to forward an HTML email with embedded graphics INTACT, so the sender receives it looking the way it looks when I receive it from a mailing list, or an advertiser, or eBay, or whoever..
Is Thunderbird capable of forwarding an HTML email with embedded graphics INTACT?.. If so, how / where do I turn on that capability?..
If the capability to do this isn't built into the program, is there an add-on I can install that will give it that ability?..
I am not new to computers.. but this really has me stumped.. I want to put Thunderbird on my 32-bit Vista laptop and stop using its horrible "Windoze Mail" program, which I've been using for years, and is slower than snot, and has all kinds of other problems..

I can't answer your Thunderbird "configuration" questions, because I'm in the living room, using the crap Vista laptop, on which I plan to install Thunderbird, and then take Windoze Mail out in the street and drive over it a few times.. I don't understand why Thunderbird "out of the box", so to speak, simply doesn't forward HTML emails with embedded graphics, (like Outlook Excess, and Winblows Mail do).. without having to go through those steps. I personally HATE HTML email, but over the years, it's become more and more prevelant.. so it's a problem I must fix..

As i understood, it is at this time impossible to have email icon outside HUB. I dont like that because many of us enjoyed having separate email account icons. For multiple reasons. One of them is privacy. If I want to use HUB, but still want to have few email accounts NOT listed in HUB, i dont have that option. Also option to HIDE any icon is not available which is preety incredible.... I kindly ask developers to add this issue. One more reason is if more people are using same smartphone. I am using 9700, I bought to my wife q10, but now I wont buy q10 for myself because for me it is absolutely essential to have HIDE and separate emails not included in Hub option. Option like "integrate this account or dont integrate( email, fb, twitter, sms, whatever) in HUB would solve issue. Please let me know if there is a plan in future to develop app or update to fix this issue. If anyone has any info or solution please let me know. Thanks, Igor.

Please look deeper...I suspect that what you desire is almost completely attainable, just in a different way. You may need to consider upgrading the Q10 OS as some of this is not available in the early OS levels, but is fully available in the most recent (10.2.1.2141).
There are two HUB things to consider -- the Hub itself, and the Hub Messages List.
The Hub itself is what appears when you have any Messages list displayed, and then you pull to the right (sometimes also called the Hub Peek Menu)...it is the selection of different messaging accounts that has been integrated to the device. As such, this replaces the Legacy BBOS homescreen individual icons...they are still individual, just accessed via a different means. You have complete control over the order of this list...you can re-arrange it such that those accounts that matter to you most are at the top, and those less important are at the bottom. You can't hide any of them, but you can push them down the list out of your way. (I honestly don't understand the desire to hide a message account selector anyway...if you are going to hide it, just remove it from integration to the device.)
The Hub Messages List itself can be controlled as to which accounts display within it. Just like in Legacy BBOS, the Hub Messages List can be configured as a unified list showing messages from all accounts, some accounts, only a few accounts, or none at all. You select, account by account, which show in the Hub Messages List Only, their individual account only, or in both.
BB10 is very very different from Legacy BBOS...but, like all technology things, the "best" one is the one that the user has become the most familiar with. In time, I'm sure that you will find that BB10 can be equally as optimally used as legacy BBOS...you just have to give yourself time to get used to it, and try to not expect it to be identical to BBOS.
Lastly, no one here in this user-user-community can reveal if they know anything about the future plans that BB has. Such information is simply not knowable by the users who volunteer their time here to help others (or, if they do happen to know, revealing it would be a violation of the site Ts and Cs plus any NDA that the individual may be bound by).

Is there any problem to use multiple threads to send email with JavaMail
Dear all,
I am using JavaMail 1.3.2 to send emails with SMTP, it works very well for a long time.
But one day, I found that the email service hanged and I could never send email again until I restart the tomcat. I found that the reason was a deadlock had been created, the required resource for sending email had not been released.
I guess the error is due to multiple threads are sending email at the same time. I made a test to create seperate thread for sending each email. After few days, I found this deadlock happened again. So, my question is: Can I use JavaMail with multiple threads? If not, I may need to sychronized all the thread that using JavaMail. I would like to make sure this is the reason for causing the deadlock problem.
Here is part of my code for using JavaMail:

which is very standard call, and it worked well for a long time.

It seems that these happened after call the method transport.sendMessage() or message.updateChanges()
, and the underlying implementation may require the JRE StandardCharsets object. But the object had been locked and never be released. So, the sendMessage() or updateChanges() can't be completed.
Please give me some helps if you have any idea about it.

SiriusNote that the Nightly build gets updated daily (and sometimes more than once in case of a respin) and it is always possible that something goes wrong and it doesn't work properly, so be prepared for issues if you decide to stay with the Nightly build and make sure to have the current release with its own profile installed as well in case of problems.

How do i send an email with attachment in PHP?
Hello,
I have a form that gets people name, emial, etc. Right now its working correctly, what it does is it sends a email to a seperate email account of the info entered. But what i want to do now is have the person submitting their info to receive an automatic email with an attachment sent to the email they provided. I could really use your help.

Sometimes Mail is slow emptying trash folder or sending emails with attachments
This happens occasionally- but enough to be an annoyance!
I am about to send an email using Mail to an address, and I wait very patiently while the Mail program makes a copy, communicates with server, then finally sends the email. Sometimes, to send an email with a simple attachment, this can take as long as three to four minutes!
Another related problem is Emptying the Trash folder.
Sometimes it takes an inordinate amount of time to do this, and other times such "deletion" takes mere few seconds.

Using Templates/Drafts in Email with Attachments Mac Mail
Hi,
I am trying to create a standard email that to send to new clients once they sign up. This standard email contains attachments and will need a few customizations (e.g.: Name, ad size, start and end dates, etc).
Is there a way to save a draft email that will not disappear once you send it to someone?
I am aware of saving as stationary, but stationary can't be saved with attachments.
In my previous PC/Outlook world, I would create an email with "_____"s in it to remind me to change these fields for the individual recepient (nothing worse than sending a client information that only pertains to the last client you sent it to). I would then simply open that email and click on the "____"s and fill in the info for the individual I'm sending to.
With Mac Mail and Drafts, I can create a template, but once I send it to someone, it deletes the draft. UGH! So frustrating!
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!Mail/Mailbox/New Mailbox - select On My Mac to create the Mailbox. Then drag a copy of the draft there before you send the other one.

Whenever people send me emails with embedded videos or pictures, the email always comes in without the media. It will have just the empty box outline where it supposed to be with a tiny broken page icon in the top left-hand corner.
I can't seem to find the cause and the solution and this has been happening for a few years already. Does it have anything to do with my account still being POP and not IMAP? What are the possible reasons and their solutions? Please help, thank you.I am not an expert in this area, but I think I might know what is going on. There is a difference between an 'embedded' picture and an 'attached' picture.
An embedded picture has a link to the actual picture. If the link is to a site which is not accessible (such as the sender's own computer) then you will get a broken link.
An attached picture is the actual picture file (.jpg, etc.) so you can always view it. If you check 'Display Attachments Inline', then when you scroll down through the email, the attachments will show up.
So, bottom line: If the sender embeds a picture, it needs to link to a publicly accessible URL. Otherwise, it needs to be attached. -
SAP Process Email with pdf attachments
Folks,
Background:
Scheduled processes that run daily sends out emails to our users within SAP. It's also converts the spool to a .pdf file and attaches it in the email. Users can view this pdf (this is essentially a report). It's been working great!!
Last month we upgraded our servers to a new hardware and migrated our system to our new hardware. Everything is working great.
Past 2 weeks, this .pdf file is failing to open. It's sporadic though. It opens fine for 2 days but for the next few days it does not open.
We are still getting emails with the attachment, but it does not open.
It's opens ADOBE but this is the message we are getting:
"There was an error opening this document. This file cannot be opened because it has no pages".
Please note, the process completed successfully and spool does exists with several pages.
When we tried it to run it in foreground, it ran and we were able to open the .pdf.
Experts, any thought? Do y'all think anything is basis setting that may need some tweak?

RajSince it is 4.6C I guess you are using file system to store Spool files (I know that in NetWeaver it can also be done in Database TemSe: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/31/19c73b24062b48e10000000a11402f/frameset.htm)
If storing spools on disk, you could check for consistency problems, i.e if you are filling up disk occasionally.
Another thing that could affect you output process sporadically is if you for example schedule a report like RSPO1043 for spool consistency check (which probably could run very long or very short depending on number of spools etc every night). In that case if your output batch for generating the PDFs conflict with a report like this that locks the spool table, you could get into occasional problems depending on whether those batch runs coincide. So check what other batch jobs runs that might affect your process.

One email with iPhone pic attachment is received multiple times
Searched the discussions and couldn't find this one. Problem is this:
My wife takes a picture with her iPhone and goes back to her camera roll to view it. While viewing the picture, she clicks to email the photo. She sends it out to her recipients (one time!), who are happy to get the picture the first time, but not the 3, 4 or 5 times following!
Any thoughts on what the issue here is? Recipient email addresses are in both Yahoo and AOL, so it can't be blamed on the recipient email server.
Why are these leaving the outbox multiple times?
Also, no "multiple sent" issues with emails that don't have pix attached.

After trying to send an email with a picture attached, the person receives it multiple times and then i will get an error on my device, stating that the email did not deliver, when in fact it did, and keeps on sending it a few more times. Between 2 and 5 times each time i send an email with a picture. This was not happening if a picture was not attached.
