Do I need to buy a transfer charger if I bring my IPAD MINI from US to UK? Or can I just bring the original charger to UK?
I bought the ipad in US. And I will go to UK fr some days. I'm afraid the charger in UK can't fit my ipad. So do I need to buy a tranfer charger to fit it or just use my pringinal one ?Thx
since the electrical outlets are different, all you need to do is purchase an adapter that will fit over the existing plug. It will charge fine

I've just received the replacement today, and I restored it from a backup I made back in July when my old iPad didn't have iOS 7. And I've updated the new iPad to iOS 7, but I don't know how to transfer the data I have on my old iPad mini in iOS 7 format into the new already backed up iPad mini. Can someone help me?
Restore from iTune Backup
1. Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings
2. You'll be asked twice to confirm
3. You'll see Apple logo and progress bar
4. You'll see a big iPad logo on screen
5. Configuration start
6. Set language
7. Set country
8. Select Network and input Password>Join
9. Enable Location Service>Next
10. You'll be given 3 options (a) Setup as New iPad (b) Restore from iCloud Backup (c) Restore from iTune Backup
11. Select Restore from iTune Backup
12. You will see picture of USB cable pointing towards iPad
13. Connect iPad to iTune (make sure iTune is on standby)
14. Tap Continue (computer)
15. Restore iPad from Backup (computer)
16. See progress bar with estimated time (computer)
17. See Restore in Progress on iPad
18. See Apple logo
19. See Apple and Progress Bar
20. Slide to Unlock
21. Copying Apps back to iPad (computer)
22. You'll see Loading/Installing/Waiting below the Apps (iPad)

I am using 10.4.11. Trying to upgrade Itunes so I can set up our new IPad. However, to upgrade Itunes, I have to upgrade OS. Do I need to buy the full version of 10.5, or can I just purchase the upgrade? (about $100 difference). All this just to get our Ipad to work....

You have to call Apple & likely ask for a Product Specialist to get it, if they still have it! Helps to tell them you have an iPad/iPhone & you can't run 10.6.
There are workarounds if the 867MHz is the only hangup...

The tweezers are a good idea. just don't go digging to the point that you may scratch the case. Because, unfortunately, if you do and if you have any issues with the port in the future, those scratches may be enough to void any warranty coverage.

If bought directly from an Apple Retail store or Apple Online store, and is still within the 14 day return period Apple Offers you can take it back and get a full refund which you can then use towards buying the other version.
If its already past the 14 day period then you won't be able to return it for a refund no.
If you did not buy it from an Apple Retail store or Apple Online Store you will have to consult with the store you bought it from about their return policies. -
I have all the documents, but can't locate my discs - need iphoto and can't get without the original.
If you buy used you have to be careful. I am not sure what software came with which system versions and which computers but the iLife application history is complex. If you end up looking for "original" discs such as those that came with your computer, make sure iPhoto was part of it, and make sure the discs you buy are really identical to the ones for your computer model. A lot of people sell gray colored discs as installer discs, but the versions are machine specific so getting any old Tiger installer may not work on your computer. Unfortunately the universal Tiger installer may not have iPhoto. Maybe somebody more familiar with the iPhoto history can provide specific advice.
An alternative is to look for a used iLife series that will work on your computer. Again, this will have to be used. Apple's staying ahead of the curve basically means those of us with old machines are left to fend for ourselves as best we can. -

If you synced it many times, you have to have a backup. It's just a question of how old that backup is now. When did you last sync?
First of all launch iTunes on your computer and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices. Do you see any backups for you iPad in that window? If so, how new is the newest backup? That will be the backup that you will want to use. But remember that if you use that backup and it is one month old, you can only restore from that date back in time. Anything that you did on the iPad in the past month will not be in that backup.
Turn on the new iPad Minin and start activating OTA via WiFi. You will get to a certain point in the process where you will be given the choice to Set up as new, Restore from iCloud - or Restore from iTunes. You will want to select Restore from iTunes.
That is the short and sweet version. There are step by step instructions in this article. This applies to the mini as well as the iPad 4 or the iPad 3 for that matter.

What happened to the nifty "sync" button in iTunes? It syncs as soon as I plug it in, and that's great! BUT! When I go to the iTunes Store and buy new stuff, I can't just 'sync' the device again so my new stuff gets added. Why?

My videos from my iphone are horrible when I transfer them to my PC. How can I improve the video on my PC? Can I just convert the files to WMV? When the video plays the speed is off, it's half slow-motion and staggers into normal play. The clips are slightly cut as well, the clips do not roll continuously. I'm taling about videos that are no more than 2 minutes long. Just in case anyone reading this has a large collection of music videos, video podcasts or iTunes U then DO NOT upgrade your iPad to iOS 5. If you are considering purchasing the iPad as a useful mobile device to experience these media organised in your iTunes please don't as you will be wasting your money. (unless someone on this forum knows of a way to undo the mess created by those infallible folks at Apple)

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
