Do I really want this software?
I want to make several YouTube videos. I want them to look polished & professional. Each video will consist of high-quality, high-res still photographs which will be panned from inside and, at the end, panned out to full frame. (I probably am using wrong terminology and hope you will bear with me.) Accompanying the moving images will be a voice track recorded in a studio with high quality equipment. Timing between the voice track and image movement will be critical and needs to be as smooth as possible. After the voice+image part is complete, I will add a music track which I will commission from professional composers & performers; I will give them wide latitude in creating the music, so I can't say at this point how it will intersperse with the rest of it. That is where I'm headed.
Here are my questions:
I attempted to download FC Pro and got a prompt message that my video card will not suffice. I am on a Mac Pro with OS X 10.6.8. Some other specs, should they be relevant, are below the line below. Can I do what I describe at a polished level on some other software that will work with my equipment? I am a pretty quick study and don't fear the learning curve for this software, but I do not aspire to a career in this, so I should not buy FC Pro in anticipation of using it for many years. (I may get hooked, but at age 70 probably not!)
Assuming I do need to use FC Pro no matter the trouble, am I correct in thinking that a proper video card can simply be added?
Or, do I have to replace my video card?
Am I looking at a different monitor, too?
Any experienced counsel will be much appreciated.

FCP X is an awesome application - I'm sure you'll really love it once you get used to it. The 'polish' on your exported media will be limited by your imagination and expertise - not by FCP X.
I strongly recommend you watch some good tutorials if you want to learn it properly.
I've tried a number of FCP X Tutorials and in my experience, Ripple Training is clearly the best.
There is a small fee, but it's more than worth it.
Replacing your video card is not difficult - I'd bet there are YouTube tutorials on it if you search.

I went to school this morning and picked up the Mac OS X 10.3 software from my advisor, I was super excited to get out of my boring Mac OS 8.6. My Mac is a tray loader. When I put the disc in the tray, it has no problem reading it, but when I go to the file to install and I press the restart button, my Start Up disc couldn't make Mac OS X 10.3 my start up disc. And when I tried using the Start Up disc on the file, it would restart, but when my screen turns back on, it flashes a question mark with a folder behind it and a Macintosh symbol and eventually begins running OS 8.6 again. Please help me!
There are several things...
There is a firmware update that is needed for Mac OS X. Fortunately, you can still boot into the "classic" Mac OS, because you need to be able to do so to install the firmware update, if it has not been already.

The Mac OS X installation disc needs to be a retail disc, meaning a disc that was sold separately in a box for use with any supported Mac. For Panther (10.3), I recall that it was black with a big metallic X, and it comes on three CDROMs. If it's a gray disc that came with another Mac model, it probably will not work.
RAM - Your iMac needs to have a minimum of 128mb of RAM for Panther. At least 256mb (or more) would be highly recommended. 512mb is the max.
Hard drive - The largest stock hard drive in tray-loader iMac G3 was 6GB, which is not very large for Mac OS X. The installation of Panther will take up about half that space. This does not prevent booting the installation disc. It's just a consideration for doing the installation itself.
For a tray-loader iMac, you may want to go with Mac OS 9 instead (up to version 9.2.2). Panther is a good version of Mac OS X, but there is not that much software that works with it. On the other hand, Mac OS 9.x was the latest and greatest version of the Mac's OS for a LONG time, so there is a large library of old but useful programs. Mac OS X on a tray-loader iMac G3 will feel quite sluggish. Mac OS 9 will feel snappy, and require much less RAM and hard drive space. -

I think firefox changed the application lay out, as I used to be able to choose my PDF opener from the list at " Adobe Acrobat Forms Document' where I could choose Nitro-PDF reader, but it has now moved all the way to the bottom like you suggested to the obvious place of "Portable Document Format" section.
If someone didn't tell me , I wouldn't have scrolled all the way down to be able to find it... it really should be with all its cousins up the top...

The app is free, So it won't cost to try. The iPad 4 comes with a 12W wall charger. Most computer USB ports output only 2.5W, so even if you get a 50% increase, it will still take a long time to charge your iPad.
Bottom line - Use the wall charger.

After updating to ios 5, my calendar sometimes freezes when entering a new event. I have tried syncing but it doesn't fix the problem. Are there any bug fixes for this? Any ideas would be great thanks, I don't really want to have to reset everything!
Try to reset the iPod by pressing the home and sleep button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data doing a reset, but it can clear some glitches after installing new software or apps.

Installed 11.0.3 today. Tried to update apps. iTunes response was, "You can not update this software since you have not owned the major version of this software." I REALLY don't understand. I paid for MANY applications and stole or borrowed NOTHING.

Did Apple neglect to give the correct update for the mid-2012 issue of MacBook Pro 13-inch? I have the i7 Intel processor, instead of the i5, and I was sold this unit as having two processors, but the System info only lists a single processor.
Is one of the problems with Intel-based MacBook Pro units that the integration wasn't without bugs that cause processor hang when running the OS Lion, even with updates to 10.7.5?
Shouldn't the EFI and SMC updaters run on these machines as stated in the Apple Support article?

I'm so disappointed with this software, very frustrated and I hate it. I want to return it.
I'm using Adobe Premiere Elements 11 and had the worst 3 hours trying to edit a 1:30 minute clip. I bought it on Amazon and they wont let me return it.
I've been using Photoshop for years and years and find PS to be very intuitive, what you see is what you get. So I figure all Adobe products will have the same amazing usability and easy of use that Photoshop has. Nope, Not with Premiere.
Here's the simple things I wanted to do that are extremely complex in this frustrating software.
1. I opened up an old clip that already had a text watermark on the bottom right of the video. I can't remove it, so I wanted to crop it out and only show the top 95% of the video. premiere doesn't let me do that.
It took me about 15 minutes to find "Crop". I go to action bar >> effects >> crop (Could they make it any harder to find btw?) and see the crop feature.
I think that if I click that then I will get a pointer and can drag it across my clip and crop what I want.
But no, it doesnt do anything at all, its useless. It tells me to drag it over my clip, I do and nothing happens. useless

Near the end he creates a zoom, but that didnt work correctly for me.
3. So I guess I have to "trick" premiere to do what I want it to do. I created a gif similar in color to the area with the watermark that I want to cover. It will be a big rectangle over the watermark, and it will be ugly, but at least it will cover the water mark.
When it comes time to resize the gif Premiere resizing is a nightmare, you cant resize it the way you want, when you pull on the sides to expant it, it expands in the opposite direction (silent scream!!!!)
4. So I have to post 2 gif images in order to cover the whole area. Ok fine whatever, So I play the clip in the editor, it looks good, the watermark is covered.
I render it and export it.
The 2 gif images are an inche away from the watermark!
They are not OVER the watermark like in edit mode (Silent scream!!!!)
5. So now I figure its just buggy so I just closed it all down and restarted it.
Then I put my normal sized video clip back intot he time line, and Premiere made it into a thumbnail size, and if I enlarge it then it gets blurry (silent scream !!!!!)
Awful, just awful. Completely unintuitive and doesnt export what it says it's going to export.
What a frustrating experience with this software, I never want to touch it again.

You do have it turned on ins settings>Privacy, right?
For location the iPod uses the location of nearby wifi routers that are in Apple's database. You do not have to be connected to the network/router to use that router's location. Thus, it appears that the iPod can't see a nearby router that is in Apple's database. Apple continuously updated their database based on info they obtain from iPhones. No one has been able to find a way to inform Apple of a router or correct is location.
You can confirm that by going to place with a know located router like Starbucks or McDonalds
