Do I use a FOR LOOP or WHILE LOOP for a program like this?

How do I write a progam in a way that in a certain expression 't+C', the variable t would decrease until the expression t+C will equal a certain expression .99x. Assuming .99x is a constant and C is a constant also. Also I would like to output the maximum value for the variable t (that satisfies the equation t+C=.99X) into a text box.

This is for my senior project and I am designing a software package that helps design/simulate the characteristics of a cpacitive pressure sensor.
If the membrane of the sensor contains a bimetal layer(polymer and metal)...well at some point the thickness 't' of the metal will affect the Young's modulus of the polymer.
So i have chosen the tolerance of the bimetal in such a way that the combined Young's modulus (of polymer and metal) is at least still 99% of the Young's modulus of the Polymer.
Now the thcikness t of the metal greatly affects the Young's moudulus of the bimetal...so if a user inputs a really high thickness t for his metal, the program will calculate the combined Young's Modulus and if it is lower than 99% of the Polymer then the program should spit out or suggest the maximum thickness t for which the combined Yung's modulus=99%of polymer.
So far.
The combined young's moudulus looks like this
Yc=(tp/tc)Yp+(tm/tc)Ym.....where tp is polymer thickness and tm is metal thickness, tc is total thickness, Ym is metal Young's modulus and Yp is polymer Young's modulus...
Now if Yc>.99Yp and the user inputs a tm to be ridiculously high....then the program should output the maximum value of tm for which Yc=.99Yp. and also pop up an error message saying "your thcikness is too high" or summin like that. I don't know how to write for or while loops...

Your question may or may not have to do with Firefox. If you create your presentation using Web standards like HTML then you should have no problem opening/displaying it on any computer regardless of the operating system. If you are using software like PowerPoint, your recipient's Mac will need to have suitable software for viewing a PowerPoint presentation. (Note that you can get PowerPoint for Mac.) In this latter situation I would suggest that you may have more success saving your presentation as a PDF as this format is more portable across operating systems.

Looking for a program like OnyX or Cocktail...

Well, I've got Windows 7 all up and running, and now, I'm looking for a program for Windows that's similar to OnyX. I know Windows has the "Disk Cleanup" feature, but it's really not that great.
Anybody know of any programs that would do the same things as OnyX or Cocktail for OS X on Windows?

Using AppleTV on HDTV, while still using computer for other programs

So, here's what i want to do...i want to use AppleTV in lieu of cable television, as i don't watch enough TV to warrant the cost of digital cable.
Sooooo... i want to be able to watch online content on my HDTV, connected to my home theater, but still use my MacMini to use other programs. Basically, i want all my video content to go directly to my HDTV (youtube, Hulu, an other videos streamed directly from websites, such as comedycentral.com), while keeping my desktop monitor solely for the use of other programs (iLife, iWork, photoshop, etc).
Is this a possible feat? I know if i use websites like ComedyCentral's to watch Daily Show & Colbert, it will have to go through my MacMini (i assume), but can it then be sent directly to my HDTV, and NOT have the video output go to my monitor?

Well, i appreciate your reply, but the very first line in my question asks, "I want to use AppleTV in lieu of cable..." and then i go on to ask whether AppleTV can do what i need. I'm not sure where else to ask a question about what AppleTV can do, than under the AppleTV support section.

Upgrading BB10 OS Using Sachesi for an OTA-like Update

This is a "how to" for upgrading your OS using Sachesi tool. If you are wanting to update your device OS but your carrier hasn't yet released the update for your device there are a couple of options. You can use an autoloader that wipes all data and reloads the OS to your device fresh. With this method you need to restore your backup or start over fresh. The easier method is to manually install the update files. This method can be used if the OS has been released by another carrier. Since the OS's are not written for specific carriers, an OS from any carrier for a given model can be used. Here's how to do it. Don't worry, it looks harder than it really is.
This method installs all of the the updated OS files over the top of the old OS, leaving all your data and settings in tact. There is no need to restore a backup file when it's done.
Caution: Before starting, I recommend making a backup of the device just in case anything goes wrong. Follow the instructions in KB33526 to make a backup of your device. You won't need it but better safe than sorry should anything go wrong.
1. Download Sachesi. This is the small PC app that you will use to download the update files and then install to the device. Save it to a folder somewhere you can easily find (desktop usually works good.) Your browser may automatically put it wherever your default download location is. It will go where any other download goes.
If the current version of Sachesi (v1.2.3) gives problems or errors in Windows you can download an earlier version (v1.2.1) here.
2. If you don't already know it, determine your BB device model by going to Settings >About >General. Scroll down to Model number. Make a note of the model number. (i.e. STL100-3, STA100-4, etc.)
3. Connect your device and double-click on Sachesi.exe. It will open to the "Search" tab. In the search tab you will need to enter the country, carrier, device, and variant codes to get the proper download. If your device is connected you should also see your device model show as connected. Enter the following based on your device model:

4. Once you enter the data for your device model you will see a box open up that says "Update 10.2.1.3247 available!" Click the "Download All" button. Sachesi will download all the bar files for the update and place them in a folder named "10.2.1.3247." (Remember: the model and/or variant you enter to get the update may not match your device exactly but if you follow the list above you'll get the right OS for your model as certain OS's are interchangeable between devices)
5. When it's done downloading all 154 files make sure your device is plugged in with the USB cable. On the "Search" tab screen you should see your device connected.
6. Once connected click the "Install" tab. (if your device requires a password enter it here.)
7. Drag the entire OS folder labeled 10.2.1.3247 and drop it into the box. The update will start immediately when you drop it so be ready.
That's it! The update will take anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours depending on how many files are updated in the new OS. The process can sometimes appear to stall but just let it go and don't interrupt it. You should see a progress bar on the screen of the device, and Sachesi will show you it's progress, as well.
When it's done it will reboot. It will take longer than normal to reboot so keep the device plugged in or you can disconnect from the computer and plug into a regular charger. Once booted up, the device will be a bit laggy for an hour or so as everything syncs. You may want to keep it plugged into the charger while this goes on as the syncing is battery intensive.
JC Tip: If you don't have it already be sure to load the app called Snap for installing Android applications directly to your device. One of the new features of OS 10.2.1 is the ability to directly install Android apps. You simply download the Snap bar file and drag and drop it into the Sachesi Install box as you did above to install it to the device. Detailed instructions for installing Snap can be found here.

Adding a Button in the Application toolbar when using LDB for HR programs

Normally when we are using LDB in our program we will get a extra button provided by SAP after the execyte button. When we are creating a new button for this by using the table fields sscrfields with the function key as 2 we are not able to see the new button.

Have you tried the trick of setting Firefox to ''lie'' to TalkTalk mail by saying that you are still using version 3.6?

Note: when you open about:config the first time, it will display a warning message that you should be careful with the changes you make. That's definitely good to bear in mind.

While using Firefox when I click the mouse or when typing like this I get the Mac spinning color wheel and any action is delayed about 10 seconds.

I'm on an iMac, 10.4, Firefox 3.6.20 and the problem is occurring with greater frequency. When I installed 3.6.20, it ran perfectly for a short time, but now the spinning color wheel happens on almost every mouse click and it makes using Firefox an impossibility. I tried the Apple installed Safari and had no difficulties. It does not occur when I use Thunderbird 2.0.0.17 either. I will appreciate any help because I rely on Firefox. Thanks.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the sessionstore.js [2] file and possible sessionstore-##.js [3] files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Use IBIC for a program

Apparently, you can install a BASIC program on the IBIC platform. It is hinted that there are subroutines available that make the program actually work. Where are these subs? Are they DLLs? What are there names?

Firefox for XP proxy is blocking net access for other programs like Warcraft

Was surfing web & had a AVG warning come up for a bad site. Followed on-screen directions. Ran both AVG & Malwarebytes Anti-malware & cleaned up system. Since then when I try to use the Curse.com client or World of Warcraft, I get a message that the Firefox proxy isn't compatible with these programs. I did not set a proxy (that I know of) unless it was done during the AVG or Malwarebytes setup. I have rebooted, shut down & restarted router - no luck. If I configure FF to not use a proxy, I can surf, download apps & repair exe files but can't load them due to same error. If I set FF to automatically select proxy, I can't connect at all. I uninstalled both AVG & Malwarebytes & turned off XP firewall. Still no luck. Got the MS Fixit thing for proxies, can't run it due to same error. The Curse client was corrupt, removed & downloaded new can't run it due to same error & the WoW repair exe is the same way. XP firewall is back on.

HI, and thank you for your reply. I am a bit confused however as I would have thought that once I turned off the engine of my car the transmitter and ipod would be also off???? Is there still power coming into the cigarette lighter when the car is off>????? i have a mercedes c class. The cigarette lighter is still working and the transmitter is still working. Are you saying that by leaving them still plugged in even though the car was idle and not running it still destroyed the hard drive???? Also could this happen if a person leaves it docked in a radio cd player but is not listening to it, is it still charging and could this have burned out the hard drive. (i always left it docked) until i bought the transmitter for the car.
Your thoughts would be much appreciated as obviously I do not want to make the same mistake again.
