"do not print" option

Is there now a "do not print" option in numbers '09?
I use numbers to print form. I 've used MS Excel until now, because the "do not print cell" option did not exist in numbers '08. Does it now?

Numbers does not have a setting to set the print area. Excel had to do this because every worksheet is a monolithic table in which you enter data and formulas in relatively few of the available cells (unless you have a huge spreadsheet). So you need to be able to select which cells to print. With Numbers, you define the size (number of columns and rows) of the table. Whatever is on a page (tables plus images plus charts, etc) will be printed. It is a WYSIWYG paradigm. This paradigm may not work well for what you are doing. Two ideas:
1) Can you design your form so that what you want to print is on one page and the rest is on another? That would probably involve separating your form into two or more tables.
2) How about creating another table on another sheet that pulls in the data you want to print. Print this sheet instead of the form. This may be the best solution.

Okay, if you really want to do this I have a way to do it. Hopefully there's an easier way but this is what I've come up with. My caveat is that I tend to attack problems with a sledgehammer before I figure out how to solve them more cleverly. Now I'll describe the basics of it to see what you think.
You will have four tables. Three of them will be stacked on top of each other. The fourth is a single cell with a checkbox in it.
The first table is your form, with no text. The table will be set with no fill color (i.e., it will be clear).
The second is a copy of that table but with the instructions in the cells. You'll pick a light gray color for the text, the lighter the better. All cell borders should be removed (color set to none).
The third table is a plain (no headers) one-cell table. The cell is enlarged so it is the same size as your form. This table will be set to no fill color. The cell will have a conditional format so that if it is not equal to the cell in the fourth table (the checkbox described below), it will have white as the fill color.
The fourth table is a plain one-cell table with a checkbox in it. You put a check in it when you are ready to print.
The first three tables will be set on top of each other. Table 1 on top, table 3 in the middle, table 2 on the bottom. When the checkbox is unchecked, the middle table will be clear and the instructions will shine through. When you enter data on the form, it will write on top of the instructions. The instructions are light gray so that they don't interfere too much with the text being typed in, though you will be able to see them. When the checkbox is checked, the middle table turns white and covers the instructions. And then you can print.
I'm not sure what to tell you to do with the checkbox table. You could put it on another sheet so it doesn't get printed. Or you can put it somewhere that looks good next to the form and have it print with it. Or you could put it on top of the form.
That's my idea. Seems a little complicated but it isn't all that hard to do. If there's an easier way, someone else will pipe in soon.

Print Checks, select "Not Printed", and print again... without trace!?

I have already sent this to Product Support, but they requested me to open a thread in this forum. So here's the issue:
In SAP Business One it is possible to print a cheque, in the confirmation window select "Not printed", and then print the cheque again with another number (on unnumbered check stock paper). This creates a hole in the cheque numbering series, that is not explainable to auditors, and creates the possibility of fraud (hey, print two checks instead of one, but have one outgoing payment only). Of course in one way or another it has to be possible to print a cheque again, but my problem is that SAP B1 creates no trace of it whatsoever. The ACHO (cheque history) table is completely empty, the CHO2 table also doesn't have the "Not printed" cheques, and in OCHO only the last cheque number is stored.
I also can't block the "Not printed" option, because the SBO_SP_TransactionNotification is not executed when you print cheques or confirm cheque numbers.
As a workaround for audit requirements I have thought of setting up a trigger to log all updates to OCHO so I could create reports from this, but creating Triggers is not allowed either, so I'm kind of stuck.
Am I the only consultant being confronted with this situation, or how are your clients dealing with this issue? I definitely need a solution for this...

1) I tried Print Therapy and after I had repaired Permissions the problem was solved (some permission problems were found) until the next restart.
2) Then I tried to stop and start again the cupsd process and again the problem was solved until the next restart of the computer.
3) Then I replaced the cupsd.conf file with a new one but the app asked to restart the computer and after this the problem was back.
4) Print Therapy does not find any problems neither in the properties of the root user nor in the current user or any other group.
5) Also the verification of the temporary files find no problems.
In conclusion I think that the problem lies in the cupsd process because when stopped and restarted (we can forget that by Repairing Permissions actually we restart cupsd) I have no problem until the next restart of the computer.

My pull down menu above the green "back" button disappeared recenly after I intalled an update. How to I get it back so I can print since right clicking does not give me a print option?

I used to have a tool bar at the top of the screen that had file, print, help, etc. After I recently installed something ( I can't remember what), the tool bar no longer appears. Help I need it back! I need to print screens and right clicking does not allow for a print option and my print screen button on my computer does not get me anywhere either. In Firefox 3.6 and later on Windows you can hide the "Menu Bar" via "View > Toolbars" or via the right-click context menu on a toolbar.
Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the "Menu Bar" or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide (click on an entry to toggle the state).

HP Photosmart Premium c309g-m does not have a mirror image print option-help please

After twice being dropped from HP chat support I have laned in this forum to get some help please.
I need to be able to print mirror images from my printer and it simply is not a option-it's not a matter of turning on the

Check the iron-on packaging for ink specs. Make sure to use HP iron-on paper.

I need to able to print a pdf that is locked. It has fields to fill in but then to save a copy I need to "print" to PDF not save as a pdf because that is not an option with the document. Is there a way to do this?

I have also found a link on the Adobe web site that discusses that this facilty is enabled by the creater of the PDF.

If you do a web search there are various claims on how to save a protected PDF, I have'nt a way to test the proceedures. I would want a copy of any forms that I sent off, not sure why they protect them in this way, there must be a reason.

Print option is not working in listitem of sharepoint 2013

We have a print option at list item level for printing the files which are checked in document library. The print option works seamlessly fine in sharepoint 2010 but the same is not working in sharepoint 2013. its not sending the files to printer for
printing when print option is selected.
Has someone faced similar issue? Any help would be appreciated..

There is no OOTB print option in SharePoint list item, print option should be added manually by custom code and the methods are various.
Please provide more detail description about how you add print option on a list item for printing files in a document library. This will help to troubleshoot the issue.

Right click print option not now available for pdfs

I have just upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 and am running Acrobat 9 Pro. On a daily basis I get a batch of pdf files that I need to print. In XP I would have right clicked and chosen Print, however this option is not available now I am on Windows 7. It doesn't matter how many files I choose, even just picking one pdf the print option is not available.

You are can use batch processing to print a folder worth of files if you like.

Why doesn't the Firefox print window not provide a double-sided printing option?

My HP printer is capable of printing double-sided, which saves paper, but the Firefox Print Window does not offer a double-sided printing option. (I recently switched from IE, which did.) Do I have to do something to add it?

The relevant print options for your printer appear under Properties AFTER you click the Print button and select the printer to be used.

Print options not working in CP7

Problem Solved:
After uninstalling a previous version of Labview Runtime from the target machines and installing the newest version (which is consistent with my development environment) on the target machines, the Print Report.vi and all other report generation VI's I use seem to work fine.
Also important is to make sure that the lvrt.msi file on the development machine is up to date and consistent with the version of runtime on the target machines. This does not update automatically when upgrading to a newer version of labview (at least not when I updated from 6i to 6.02). It must be manually downloaded and inserted into the proper folder.

TS1702 I downloaded ibooks to my ipad so I have a place to save PDF files. I do not get the "open in ibooks" option. Only get "mail" and "print" option.

Where are these PDFs coming from? What do you mean by "save PDF files to ibooks" and then "I do not get an 'open ibooks' message? If they are saved to ibooks (I assume you used itunes to save a dragged in PDF to the ibooks panel in apps) then you should be able to open and view them in ibooks. If they are not in ibooks (I'm assuming this is the case, since you want to get an "open in ibooks" option from the *share* icon, right?) then where are they on the mini, which app?

Why is there not an option to only print form data in Adobe XI?

I have created a form in Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and saved it. Then I want to open it in Adobe Reader, fill it in and then only print the form data but there is not an option to only print form data in Adobe Reader XI. I'm not sure if it is in the way I created the form or something else. Any help will greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Basically you need to place the file's contents on a non-printing layer. Try this:
Create a new blank file and open the Layers panel on the left.
Click the Options button and select Import As Layer.
Select your pre-existing PDF file (maybe save a copy of it without the form fields first and use that version).
Right-click the layer you created and select Properties. Change the layer's Print option to "Never Prints".
Now copy the fields from the other file and place them in their correct location on the page.
Save the file and you have a file that can be used to print only the form fields data, even in Reader.
This process can be automated, by the way, but that would require a script.

Right-click PRINT option not available in explorer WIN7

On 1 Win7 machine, in explorer, right-click has Print available, when selecting a PDF. On another machine, it does not.
What provides that command in the context menu? How to add it?
Both 64-bit.
I have Reader X 10.1.0 installed.
There is also another difference. On status bar on pc with working printing option I see Adobe Acrobat document, On another machine: PDF-file. Different icons.

I forgot to write that I do not have map C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat Elements with ContextMenu64.dll, only C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0 on both pc's.

Show 'Print' Option not see in view property editor

I have created a new ABAP web dynpro application and am trying to integrate it into the portal (7.0). I created a view and am trying to customize the appearance of the tray it appears in so that the user can print the view. I know that in the standard ESS functions that we have (which are WD Java) I simply found the show "print" option in the property editor and made sure it was set to yes. The problem is that while all of the other options are there (Details, help, personalize, refresh, remove, etc), unfortunately I do not see a show "print" option available in the property editor of the view. Is there any way that I can get it to show up? Is there some other parameter that controls whether it should appear.
I do see the show "print" option on the page, but my users want to see it on the view.

It looks like you do not have write permissions to the PCD objects and thus cannot edit them.
