Document interface and its implementation

Hi All.
I have a rather simple question - I just can find non-ambiguous answer
So, all implemetations of Document (e.g PlainDocument) have tree-like structure, where each node implements javax.swing.text.Element interface.
My question is:
Does only the LEAF Element contains text, i.e. actual data that was entered by user?
Or can I found text in non-leaf elemets?

Elements don't actually contain text, they just represent the structure of a document. However, every character is covered by one and only one leaf element, never directly by a branch element.

There is a difference between the document total and its components

Hi!
I have an error message "There is a difference between the document total and its components" when I want to create an InventoryGenEntry
the problem arises from time to time and my customer must do the document two or three times before it is created.
I have seen in this forum and in notes that this is probably being caused by a Rounding.
I am using 2 digits for amounts, 4 digits for prices, 6 digits for rates and 3 digits for quantities.
For information my customer use SAP 2005 and the patch level 46.
This problem happened only in InventoryGenEntry. how can I modifiy parameters to resolve this problem?

Hi Séverine,
Do you find any additional code added to SBO_SP_Transaction stored procedure. A similar issue with stock transfer fixed in later patch. Please test in latest patch.

UML: Composition and its implementation aspect using a Nested Class (Is it always or depends or is there another equivalent way?)

a. If a nested class is NECESSARILY a form of composition? Or it depends on the meaning of the presented code and/or the meaning of the requirement?

c. Is there any example that the Composition can be implemented by nested class (es) as well as non-nested class? (Equivalent way)

When you say nested class, I interpret that as a Java inner class.
If that's true, then I don't think that composition is always modeled as an inner class. It's more likely to be a simple private data member that's a public class type.
I usually see composition as a non-nested class. In his "UML Distilled", Martin Fowler says aggregation is the part-of relationship. Composition is a stronger variety of aggregation, where the part object may belong to only one whole and lives and dies with the whole.
So if you have a Polygon class that has a Collection of Points as member data, that's composition. No inner classes in sight. - MOD

Is text mining operations on document binary and its HTML output is simiar?

Does the text mining operations differ when I perform on document binary or its HTML output? Do you think the results would be the same, if i performed clustering operation on the HTML or text output of a binary document instead of its binary file.

I assume you are trying to put an anchor tag in a text item, that points to a document stored elsewhere in the Portal repository.
Use a direct access URL (search the online help for info on these) to construct the link to the document. You can use a relative URL by leaving out the "http://server.domain:port" part of the URL - e.g. {a href="/pls/portal30/docs/FOLDER/MYROOTFOLDER/MYSUBFOLDER/MyDocument.DOC"} - I'm using {} here instead of <> because real tags get messed up in these forum messages.
The Portal FAQ explains how to use httpd.conf to define a redirect directive.

Reformatting a document layout and its trouble

Hello,
I have a 210 page document that is to be printed as a booklet. The pages are "facing" each other, meaning they are in spreads. The pagination for each page corresponds to the left or right-hand page meaning, in this case, the page number on a left-hand page is to the far left and, on the right-hand pages, the page number sits far right. All pages were made to print for a three-ring binder so all art justifies further left or right depending on the corresponding left or right-hand page. Nothing is centered is the clearest way to explain that point. One of the clients in Australia, who is using a pdf of the original document (the main client will not release the book in it's original InDesign form), wants to select single pages indescriminantly and print them and is asking for a pdf of pages in "non-facing" spreads or in single pages.
I thought it might work if I simply changed the layout to show single pages and not in spreads. Unfortunately, the program reads the single pages as separate pages thus placing the pagination to the right on every page. If I make a pdf of the new document, the page numbers in half of the document are on the wrong side. Does anyone have a workaround solution to re-laying out a spread document and keeping the page numbers for the left-hand pages to the left side?

What is the time size of the finished document, and wah t is the page size in Doucment setup? Is it set up as facing pages now, or do you have two panels on a single page? Are the pages currently in consecutive order?
If the file is set up as facing pages in consecutive order (readers' spreads -- what your reader will see when the booklet is finished), then you need do nothing more than export a PDF as single pages (i.e. don't check the spreads box).

Purchasing Documents Interface and encumbered POs

We are on 11i, public sector, and use encumbrance accounting. Our POs are generated in a 3rd party system, and are manually entered into Oracle daily, then encumbered with the approval process. We wish to use the Oracle Purchasing Interface to bring over the POs into Oracle, but in the documentation, I can find no mention of the encumbrance issue. If a PO is encumbered in Oracle, and a change to that PO is made in the feeder system, when that change is interfaced over, how does it handle the encumbrance? Can you even use the interface with encumbered POs??

Question on getEncoded method of Key (interface) and its impl

I need help to understand on how we use the encoded method of security key. The following is quoted from Sun spec about the getEncoded() as a reference.
"An Encoded Form. This is an external encoded form for the key used when a standard representation of the key is needed outside the Java Virtual Machine, as when transmitting the key to some other party. The key is encoded according to a standard format (such as X.509 or PKCS#8), and is returned using the getEncoded method".
Questions:
How can we decode the bytes back into the original key object ? if it is used for this purpose by user (like me).
Also, I try this method with the following code snippet. I get encoded format as "RAW". So now, how can I set the encoded format to other standard (after I know the answer to my first question above)? btw, i use Sun JCE 1.2.1

To restore key from encoded data you have to use one of the KeySpec lasses in your case DESKeySpec. Then you can use KeyFactory (SecretKeyFactory in this case) class to regenerate key.
SecretKeyFactory factory = SecretKeyFactory.getInstance("DES", "SunJCE");
myDESkey = factory.generateSecret(keySpec);

Workflow - move document set and the content

I am working on "simple" solution to move document set and its content to different library.
Source and destination libraries were created using the same template.
I can copy documents from inside the doc set to other library but workflow doesn't work when run on doc set....
Any tip?

Implements an interface and "return"

I was implement an interface about Element, I had declear all of the methods of ELement and its superclass Node. Then it ask for return statement for everymethod.
actually, I only need some of the method, so what can I return for the empty method body. and for the methods I wanted, even I dont have any further programming for those methods, like "boolean hasAttrubute(String value), it still remian as an empty methods, what can I return for those?

I would also recommend to write the description into the meta data. This would allow to place a text frame above the image and it is possible to add meta information and file name automatically together with the image, when you place it or even in a prepared template.
Meta data information can be written easily in Bridge in the Meta File Workspace.

I have installed adobe pdf to get a document sent to me thru my employer and i put my password in and its still asking me for a document password do i need to set one up

So you put your password in when you installed it?
If that's the case, that was just your administrator password used to allow the install. It has nothing to do with the document.
If the document is asking for a password, you'll need to get that from the person that added a password to the pdf.
If neither of the above helps, please give us more info on what you are attempting to do and what is going wrong. LEtting us know your version of Adobe Reader may also be helpful.
