Document Linked Buttons.

Hi all,
SBO/SDK 2004 Patch 30.
Couple of questions re: linked buttons.
I'm loading a user form via xml that contains a matrix with linked button columns - separate columns for different document types e.g. invoices, credit notes, payments, journals. The linked buttons work fine in this way but:
1. I would like to have different link button types in the one column i.e. I want to drill back to invoices/credits from the one column (and not via the Journal ID).
2. The document drill back only works when you supply the DocEntry and not the DocNum. This isn't much use to a customer who can't recognise the invoice number.
Is it possible to drill back to an invoice (or any non-journal document) using the DocNum? Maybe if I could display the DocNum, trap the linked button event and pass the DocEntry to it?

If you look at the "MatrixandDataSource" sample code that is located in Samples\COM UI folder as part of the installation of the Business One SDK ... there is a good example of how to use the Linked Button (arrows) to drill back from the customer card code to the Business Partner Record.

Trying to link buttons to specific text in document

I'm on a mac using Adobe InDesign CS6. I have been slowly getting into converting our newspaper into a digitial interactive document including buttons to different content, hyperlinks, etc.
My dilemma is I want to create buttons that will link directly to the text in a document, not just the page the text is on.
What I am currently doing is creating a bookmark for each page, then making text anchors within each bookmarked page for each story (usually placing the cursor at the beginning of the headline).
When I go to create the buttons to link to these stories, I am using "Go To Destination" and then choosing the appropriate text anchor. But when I go to output my document and preview the interactive form, the buttons are just linking to the page the text is on and not to the text directly.
I'm sure I must be missing something. Any help?

This could be as simple as a zoom setting. When in acrobat if you zoom in, say to 200%, and then click the link, does it go to the page or the paragraph?
You detailed things fairly clearly above but to be sure, when you set the text anchor, did you set it as a text anchor and not URL or page? When you do this it should add it as a destination so you won't see it in the Hyperlinks panel. Then with the button, ensure it's the correct text anchor and set the zoom level to whatever you would like - inherit would take the current zoom setting from Acrobat when the document is opened. I can't test on CS6 but CS5.5 seems to do this fairly well - the zoom setting to me made it look like it went to the page and not the text.

Show local documents using link button

I have few link buttons in my app to show the reports that
were stored locally on the server. For example: The reports were
stored at “C:\report\”. When I specify the local path
to the link button and execute the app, I am getting an error
saying that “Flex will not display the documents stored
locally”. Please let me know the solution.

Either use Adobe AIR, which allows local access, or else have
the reports on server and store names or relative paths to those
reports locally, using the shared object feature.

Back button from cross-document link shows Security Settings pane

I have a PDF with many cross-document links (links to page views in another PDF within the same folder). When users have these set to open in the same window, the expected actions occur: the source document closes (or appears to close) and the destination document opens to the chosen page view. However, once we password protect the PDFs, we notice an odd behavior. When the Back button is used to get back to the source document, it takes the user back to the appropriate spot; however, if the user had their bookmarks pane open in the source document, the Security Settings pane is open instead when Back is used.
So, to summarize:
- Cross-document link from source doc to destination doc, preference set for these to open in the same window.
- Source doc and destination doc both password protected.
- Initial view setting for both docs is Bookmarks Panel and Page.
- User has bookmarks pane open in source doc, clicks on cross-document link.
- Source doc closes, destination doc opens as desired.
- User presses Back button.
- Destination doc closes, source doc reopens to the appropriate location - but bookmarks pane is now replaced by the Security pane.
We'd really like to find a way to avoid this; this is a pretty useless pane to have open and the structure of these docs means that users are frequently going to view them with their bookmarks open. Is this a bug? Is there a setting I can dig for? We think it's not happening in Acrobat 9 (I can't confirm, but this is what my client has said) but is happening in 10 and 11, and also in the current version of Reader.
Can anyone shed any light?

afaik - It is build in behavior. Similar to defaulting to display of the pages thumbnail pane in the navigation panel when an "insert" page is done.
There is a certain logic to it so it may have been deliberate. As an end-user I'm not appreciative of such. Some "developer staged user assistance" I can do without.

How do I remove download links/button redirect to accurate download

When I go to some sites that have a download link underscored in blue or a button next to text or any other part of the page, I was able to click and download the file. When you point at the link or button you would see the path it will take to download the file. It would have the website name your visiting plus other codes.
But on returning to these sites, when I choose what I want to download, the link or button wants to go to accuratedownload.com. It presents the name of the item I want and with a .EXE extension. My main browser is Firefox version 26.0 on my XP PC. I test Internet Explorer and it produces the same results. Something has changed. I go to the site on my mobile phone, I am able to download the file from the same site and the links/buttons are not embedded with codes to go to accuratedownload.com. I do not know what to call this problem since I had no luck in finding solutions to redirection being embedded in a link or button on a web page that worked fine.
I've tried a reset Firefox, my profile, running Symantec Anti-Virus, Malwarebytes Anit-Malware, Clearing history and so on. The problem still occurs. Need Help.
Note: It would be nice if when the Download Screen pops-up, that we could rename the download file to a name we want (Saves time). Even if you rename the file, the history should record where it came from with the original name if it needs to be downloaded again.

To let you know, When I did a reset and restarted Fire Fox without the Add on's. I tested each user account on my PC. Each user account that used Fire Fox or Windows Explorer showed the same symtoms.
Back to troubleshooting, I've completed a scan using Sothos Free Virus Removal Tool. After a lengthy scan of every drive, partition, USB Thumb Drive and so on that it found, in about 5.5 hours it found Mal/FakeAvCn-C, Mal/JavDlEx-A and CXmal/BadLnk-A and continued by clicking the Clean Up button and that took about 15 minutes for some reason. Then it asked to send the log to Sophos. I clicked send and it failed to get to them.
I tried going on the internet to test the cleanup by clicking on some links and buttons. I could not get on the internet. I found that the NIC card was not working. Don't know why now but probably was affected by the scan. I found myself troubleshooting and reinstalling NIC drivers several times before the NIC card started to run correctly.
I read you post and tried to change the proxy settings in Fire Fox to "No Proxy." The scan, clean up and proxy settings change did not remove the embedded paths in links or buttons that allow you to download or be sent to the intended location. It still had paths to accuratedownload.com and eachdownload.com.
Question: By default is the proxy setting suppose to be "Use system proxy settings"? Should I put this back to this setting.
Windows Explorer has the same problem. Is Fire Fox a stand alone product or does it build parts of itself using Windows Explorer?

Besides the scans and removal done to the registry, the scans it did on the files and folders, the Sophos log shows the virus attached to files in Documents and Folders, All Users (and other user accounts), Application and data folders, Java and Cache, including any shortcuts and long cryptic files like (pg42l784fcuo452hsb6cfbkoke045p75f2e02887m).
When programs fail to delete or cleanup after themselves, what locations can be safely deleted manually?

Add linked button to a editText field

Hello everybody,
i'm trying to add a linked button to a text field in the header of a JournalEntry. So far i've been able to add it on one of the columns of a document matrix.
Can anybody help me, please?

You need to create a new link button object, set the "linkto" property to point to the UID of the edittext containing the data, and set linkedobject to point to the target object (eg. business partners, items ...)
Set sboItem = sboItems.Add("LINK", it_LINKED_BUTTON)
sboItem.LinkTo = "10" 'UID of separate edittext containing the data.

Link button does not link to the right record.

I have created a matrix, and I have made one of the column type as link button. The matrix is loaded with Sales Quotation record, and the DocNo column is a link button. For example, when i pressed the link button of record with DocNo = 10, but the Sales Quotation form pop out is record with DocNo = 8, anyone encountered this problem??? anyone have any solutions on this???
I have tried this with other marketing document object, such as Sales Order and Invoice, the same problem occured... huh, one more thing, if i did not set the document numbering series, the code is working fine, once i set the document numbering series, then this problem will happen ... hope to hear from you guys ...thanks in advanced!!!

I suppose the reason of this behavior is that the link button relates using the DocEntry value, and not the DocNum fields value.
What we usually do is to have 2 columns, on the first the DocEntry, and in the second one the DocNum. Then we set the DocEntry Column´s width to 20, and then only the orange arrow is shown.
This way, you get the behavior and appearance you need.

Word document links won't open in IE 9

I got a user who cannot open up a word document link in sharepoint online that should display a word dialog box basically in IE 9. When clicking, nothing happens even if pop up blocker is off, but he can access the word documents from the link in Firefox.
I also found out that I am able to open it up under my windows profile on that machine so it must be a corrupted windows profile.
I reset IE
Cleared cache
Verified in registry in class roots that .html is set to htmlfile
Anything I can do besides redoing the user's windows profile?

Can you try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away? You can restart in Firefox Safe Mode by either:
* Clicking the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]], click Help [[Image:Help-29]] and selecting ''Restart with Add-ons Disabled'', or;
* Holding the '''option''' key while starting Firefox.
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration.

Acrobat X external document linking problem

Hello,
I have been using Acrobat 6 standard for our user manuals for years and have recently started using Acrobat X.
It seems that the external document linking has changed though. I used to put all of our 3rd party literature (PDFs) in a separate folder (to keep it clean and neat) under our main manual PDF. I would link to all those documents inside our user manual PDF. Then when I later burned the PDF and the 3rd party literature to a CD, as long as I maintained the folder heirarchy, everything worked just fine.
Under Acrobat X though this doesn't seem to be the case. If I just burn it to a CD, then the all of the external links are broken. I have been able to do this by adding Desinations names to the 3rd part literature but this is a lot more work and I don't want to modify all of the 3rd party docs. In addition, some of them are read only and you cannot edit them.
Does anyone know how to link to external documents in Acrobat X and then move them to a new location while maintaining the link without editing the external documents (some are read only).

The Javascript code populates a field on the form and the If Then statement sets this value based on the amount in another field. I have changed all of the values in the If Then statement but the button is still using the old values.
I have tried this on three different computers and it will not pick up the new values.

Services for Object: attached documents/ links cannot be deleted

Dear SAPfriends,
The deletion button at the attachment list of "Services for Object" does not work. Eventhough it seems that the documents/ links/ notes have been removed from the object (i.e. Purchase order, material etc), when you exit and re-enter at the attachment list the documents are still there.
I tried to delete them from OAER, still the same.
Any ideas?

Placing a PDF with hyperlinks/buttons into InDesign and retaining all the link/buttons after reprece

I got a PDF file that has multiple links/buttons and I'm placing into an InDesign CS2 document with other items and then exporting out as another PDF for a digital edition magazine. I want to retain all the links/button once I export?

I doubt that will work. But it should be easy enough to find out. If you
print to pdf from ID, I guarantee is will not work. If you export from
ID, I doubt it will work, but ask in the ID forum, since the creation
does not depend upon Acrobat.

Document Add button - change a UDF so B1 writes value to tables

When the user presses the add button on a document, like an invoice, I want to loop through the items matrix and update a UDF on each row, so that Business one will write my values in the UDFs to the line item table (INV1), but I can't figure out how.
2 problems: The first is all the message boxes that B1 sometimes displays (like document total is zero, or error messages like 'no tax code entered'. I need to do my work AFTER these all occur, but just BEFORE the document is created. WHEN do I do this?
The other problem is that it seems like when I've tried something like this before, My changes to anything on the screen cause B1 to re-fire the events and then cancel the Add.
I don't want users to change these fields after I've loaded them, and I'd rather not retrieve the document after it's added and then change the values. I've found similar problems in the forum but none of them speaks exactly to this
Any ideas?

How to add linked button in grid?

Does anyone know how to add linked button in a grid? I can't find it but i saw someone ask similar question but seems none of them works.

Hi,
as far as I know it is not possible, since this adjustment is made for the whole column. I have created a grid and I open the shown document by double clicking the row header. In the grid I can see if it is sales or purchase and so I use a workaround by opening the specific system form (e.g. sales invoice) in find mode and search the document by document number (also shown in the grid).
Sample:
