Unfortunately, no. There is a workaround however.
You can go to the Mail Settings, and enter an incorrect password for the account (or no password). This way, everytime it tries to check for mail, it will prompt for password.
However, this won't stop people from opening the Mail App and reading the e-mails that are already saved to the device

Hi, Iv made a small program but I would like to password it to gain extra marks. I'd like a message to show on opening the application inviting them to log in using their user details. Ideally a correct password should be required but it dosent really matter. At the moment I have come up with this code, but im not sure how to get it to work when the application is openend. If anyone can edit or tell me how to get it to pop up a password required message I'd be really greatful.

You might be more interested in inputting and validating a password before your GUI application starts. If so (and you're using at least Java 6) then use the Console class. Here's an example:

If you are using Safari as a web browser :-
Open Safari, go to Safari menu > Preferences > General, and put Google as the homepage. Then, choose Google as your default search engine.
If you are using Google Chrome as the web browser :-
Open Google Chrome.
In the top right corner of the page, click the Chrome menu Chrome menu > Settings.
In the "Search" section, select Google from the drop-down menu.

In microsoft technologies they have OLE, where I can embed Internet Explorer into any application written in VB or C++ (or C Sharp).
Does anyone know how I can do this with Java? Is there a way to make a java applet that has a browser in it?
And then if there is, can I also put an invisible layer on top of that, and paste JLabels and stuff into that, over the browser window?

You cannot merge Apple IDs but you can go to Settings > iCloud and 'Delete Account'. When prompted to turn off documents and data, choose the only option which is Delete from my iPhone, but on the other prompt for Contacts, Calendars, etc you can choose 'Keep on my iPhone' Then once the Account is Deleted form the iPhone, log back in with the correct Apple ID and choose Merge when prompted. This will merge your data from this iPhone with that iCloud account effectively putting your devices on the same account.

Does anyone know how I can retrieve this. Somehow my cat moved ITunes to the middle of the desktop and I now get this message and cannot open it. You can't open the application iPhoto because it may be damaged or incomplete.

You need a more technically saavy cat, for a start.
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

this file goes to notification widget (i drag down screen)
notification/message says download complete
i click on notification/message
nows it says complete action using (here i only have 2 icon options 1= DB Text Editor 2 = HTML Viewer)

I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. If you're using the BlackBerry browser, you can't configure anything to bypass the RIM servers. I believe you may do so by using the Opera browser, but I haven't tried it myself so cannot comment with authority.

Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

Every backup replaces the old one, so, unless you included the backup folder in your computer backup routine, you can't get back your calendar info.
The only time iTunes will not replace a backup is, when you use it to restore from, this one will stay in the backup list in iTunes.
