Does anyone know if the iOS 7 update will ever be available on the iPod touch 4?
Does anyone know if the iOS 7 update will ever be available on the iPod touch 4? And is iOS 7 even worth getting? I've read some articles about kind of getting iOS 7 by jailbreaking, etc but I don't want to do that. Some people are also saying that it will be available, is this true? I currently have iOS 6.1.5. Thanks.
As Apple said in June, iOS 7 is not compatible with the 4G iPod.
All the iOS devices compatible (iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, and 5G iPod touch) with iOS 7 have at least 512 MB of memory (RAM). The 4G iPod only has 256 MB

Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: The Maps application on iOS5 is, as I understand it, a custom front end for Google Maps that was created by Apple. It should continue to function indefinitely, so long as something does not change on the Google side that would prevent it from accessing their servers. Although I qualified the answer, it doesn't seem likely that Google would do such a thing. -

You won't be able to put an ibook on it unless you have an old version of iBooks that is compatible with 3.1.3 (and I'm not sure if it ever was). Searching for PDF in the store on my computer's iTunes I've found a few (the below apps haven't been updated for a couple of years, so are still compatible with the iOS version that was around 2+ years ago) :
iPDF says that it works on iOS 3 - it's free, but the recent reviews don't look good
iPDFViewer - also free
Felaur PDF Reader isn't free and the reviews are mixed
Simple PDF Reader - cheaper than the above app, again mixed reviews -
I have the original iPad and I don't have an option in Settings, General for Software Upates. The App Store only has a Spanish version. Does anyone know how I can update to iOS 5?
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

I've gotten defensive after reading the forums. The forums are full of posters just looking to prove someone wrong or stupid, rather than being helpful. I shouldn't have assumed you were one of those people. Sorry.
I did my homework and discovered that my PowerPC will run Leopard. It can be purchased for $129 by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE. This is much cheaper than replacing my laptop.
I hope to upgrade my Mac soon, though! Can't believe this thing is still ticking. I love Apple. -

when I'm on an app, on iso7.1 it will now show the "iPad/iphone" sign - the time - and the battery whilst running in an app. does anyone know how to get rid of that as its effecting the games i play.
If you can hide the status bar, it would be an option inside the app. I have one or two apps where that is an option but in most apps it is not.

Both Podcasts and audiobooks are synced using a separate tick box from the music. So, connect your iPod to iTunes and check the Device/Podcasts (and Books for the audiobooks) and make sure that the relevant box is ticked to enable syncing.
If you need to change the setting (that is, if you need to put the tick back on), you should perform a sync afterwards to make sure the change has been updated onto the iPod. -

to figure out which users have administrative privileges, open the Users & Groups pane of System Preferences; each user other than the Guest User will be shown with a description of either “Admin” or “Standard”. It’s typical for the first user created on a Mac to be an administrative user. -

The Canon UFR2 v2.41 driver for 10.7 that was released last month also works fine on 10.8.
This driver is for UK English regions where your model is known as the iR1024iF. If you want to check the Canon USA web site for the US English version of the UFR2 v2.41 driver then you should get the correct model name. -

If you Google ipod nano 6th generation manual, you can download the PDF manual. Here's a quote from page 19:
Transfer purchased content to another computer:
1 Open iTunes on the other computer and choose Store > Authorize This Computer.
2 Connect iPod nano to the newly authorized computer.
3 In iTunes, choose File > Transfer Purchases from iPod.
Songs that are not from the iTunes store can be copied to the new computer, and you just have to do File>Add to Library to get them into iTunes. And if you don't plan to continue using your old computer, you should deauthorize it because you only get 5 authorizations for iTunes store purchases, and this will cancel out the authorization on the old computer. -

Draw the shape which is to be knocked out (a line in the example) in a layer above the logo. The colour doesn't matter because it will be made invisible.
Double-click in the space to the right of the layer's name in Layers panel to open its Layer Style window where advanced blending can be modified.
Set Fill Opacity to zero and Knockout to "Deep" or "Shallow" depending on whether the knockout should be limited to a containing Group. -
