Does FND_PROGRAM.delete_program remove data definition and templates?

I want to delete a concurrent program and all related records (including data definition and templates) from a development region. Does FND_PROGRAM.delete_program remove all records or will I end up with orphaned records? If records are left behind, which tables would I need to clean up?
Thanks for your help,
Tam.

  • Best Practice Question - Data Def and Template setup

EBS provides reports and templates. As expected the template did not fit our needs and the data objects did not include all the elements required. I've built custom objects for both (thanks to help from the forum).
Should the templates and data definitions be setup under their corresponding application or under the custom application (ie PO vs XX )?
In my case if I setup the data definition and template under the XX application then all the EBS OAF web pages dont show my new reports. I'd have to also build OAF extensions to show custom reports (seems stupid).
Is there any negative impacts of registering custom data definition and templates under their corresponding applications (like Purchasing, Inventory)? Or is there a better way that I'm missing?

not really. I would make it work by anymeans neccessary. The problem you are experience I've had issues with too.
The concurrent program and has to be the same as template application, same for for the data definition.

  • Does "Deleted Messages - Remove"  on iPhone and iPad  refer to the server, or just the device?

I have been trying to understand the settings in iOS devices in mail apps "Deleted Messages - Remove" and the selection of time including never. Does this refer to deleting from the severs - wherever/whomever they are - or from the device itself. This appears in the advance settings in mail for pop accounts.
If never is selected, is that so the sever holds it for the computer's mail client to see (albeit as unread) and trash it then (where it could be on sever forever if desired) or does that mean it will not be removed it from the iPhone or iPad until trashed and therefore not seen by one's other devices/computer.
Be gentle - this is my first question.

Your scores will not sync. You will have "different scores' on each device. And say if the game has different levels that you have to unlock, your progress on one device will not sync to the other.

  • How does BR get current date, user, and associate member with Attribute Dim

I need use Business rules or Calc script to implement following functions:
    1. Get current date and the name of user who is running the BR and save the information to cube.
I don't find any functions to get current date and users.
Also, since text and date is store in relational database and essbase cube only stores the index, it looks that the value can't be changed or stored by using "==" directly, is there any function to change value of members with Text or Date types in BR/Calc script?
    2. End users select attribute value (via smart list) of products or projects(Sparse dimensions) in data form, run BR to update the association of these members with attribute dimension.
I don't find any functions to change the attribute association in BR/Calc, is there any CDF (Custom Defined Function) that can do it?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
For the date functionality, check out the post below.
Re: Days behaviour between two dates
As for the username, there is a little tricky way that requires an unused or a new dimension along with a smart list of user names. It's also possible to capture the user name from the cookies and pass it on to the form. The latter is possible through validatedata.js however requires hefty coding here and there.
As for the attributes, it's not possible to update metadata through business rule. So no luck in there.

  • How does firefox guarantee User data privacy and protection?

As I understand Firfox Sync Service will store user data on its personal servers, i have 2 doubts then -
1: If a user stores his passwords to Firfox server and there is a security breach on that server and User's private data has gone to wrong hands then who would take responsibility of such incidence?
How secure is the server that firfox uses in general !!
2: Once this data store grows in size, Firfox would have to use better and reliable technology, that comes with a cost tag, so would Firfox start charging those users who have no idea of this right now?

With only the password it is impossible to read the data that is on the servers since the data is encrypted. The data is encrypted on your computer before it is sent to the Mozilla servers, and if downloading the data from Mozilla it is decrypted on your computer. To encrypt and decrypt the data the secret phrase is required, and that is on your computer.
As far as I am aware Firefox sync will always be free.

  • EBS-R12 Generate XML (with data) from Embedded Data Definition

    Hi
I'm new to running XMLP/BIP in EBS.
I have found the extensive set of data definitions and templates in EBS and they work great out of the box.
I, however, need to make template modifications.
To this end, a correctly structured XML data template - containing all the data fields - is needed for loading into the template-builder in Word.
If for example I take the embedded R12 data definition - XLAJELINESRPT.xml - for Posted Payable Invoices, and load it into the template builder, it provides the structure of the data template and not the structure of the output XML data.
I have tried several ways to run the Data definition through XMLP using the concurrent manager attempting to intercept the generated XML (with data) but it either completes the process and uses the linked output template - producing the PDF - or other output - or if I remove the (output template altogether) it fails with an error.
Maybe I'm missing an obvious step, but there has to be a way of taking the very comprehensive Data Definitions embedded in R12 EBS and using them in custom report templates.
If I've totally missed the point, please give me the steps to follow.
    Many thaks in anticipation.
    Mike MacMurray

    HI Mike,
You cannot load your Data Template into the MS Word Template Builder plugin, as it cannot be run to generate XML this way.
You have two options to get the data from an XML Publisher Report run as a concurrent program in EBS.
    1) Using the XML Publisher Administrator responsibility, set an end date for both the Data Defintion and Template Definitions associated with the XLAJELINESRPT report.
    2) Leave the concurrent program, Data Defintions and Template Definitions exactly as they are and run the report. Once the report has completed, select the Concurrent Request, click "Diagnostics" then click "View XML". This will open the XML in a new browser window. You can then right click, View Source and then save this document locally.
You can then load this XML into the MS Word Template Builder and start building your template.
    I hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Cj

The Break On >> Library Errors menu item does prevent the ERANGE error. In fact it should do the same thing as the SetBreakOnLibraryErrors that you call programatically.
    Hi Darren,
    thanks, this is good news!
    D Biel wrote:
However, the SetBreakOnLibraryErrors will supersede the menu item. So if in your code you call SetBreakOnLibraryError(1), then you will break on library errors despite the menu item's setting.
This is not so good news as it limits (at least in this case) the menu command!
In my code I have a few calls to SetBreakOnLibraryErrors (that are executed rarely and are not time critical). As a consequence, if a subroutine using the SetBreakOnLibraryErrors (FALSE) - critical function - SetBreakOnLibraryErrors (TRUE) sequence is called before cosh(), the menu command is without effect on cosh() errors. If the cosh() is called first, it should have an effect (I didn't try this case yet).
This seems a bit confusing, to say the least...
It is even more confusing if reading the help sentence:
SetBreakOnLibraryErrors does not affect the state of the Run»Break on»Library Errors option in the Workspace window.
Agreed, it does not change the check mark (if this is what you would call 'the state'), but it does affect the function, and what is 'not so nice', it does this secretly...
You are already used to my comments, so here is another one: I don't like this behavior...
I will think about your suggested way out, thanks for providing it!

  • Error while passing date parameter to the XML data definition

    Hi All,
I have developed a BI publisher report using XML data definition & RTF template.
This data definition contains a SQL query in it's CDATA section and runs as a concurrent program(without RDF) . We are looking to pass a date parameter to the SQL query and its not accepting the date parameter. However, when we hardcode SYSDATE in the SQL query in place of the parameter, the report runs fine. In the log file it shows that the parameter is being treated in American date style and we are using DD-MON-RRRR format. I have tried to convert the date format however still the error exists.
    What we did ?
Created a XML data definition which contains the SQL query in its CDATA section & p_rundate (DATE) parameter.
Registerd the XML data definition as concurrent program with EXECUTABLE= XDODTEXE and Output format as XML with p_date as a date parameter.
Looking for any available solution for the same.
    Thanks.

  • SAP PP (Production Planning) Master Data Definitions

SAP PP (Production Planning) Master Data Definitions and Transaction codes.

SAP PP (Production Planning) Master Data Definitions
    • Factory Calendar
    • Material Master
    • Resource • Bills of Material (BOM)
    • Production versions
    • Master recipe
Factory Calendar: The factory calendar is defined on the basis of a public holiday calendar. The public holiday and factory calendar is a central module in the SAP System. It is assigned to a specific plant during the initial system setup and therefore used in many areas (e.g. in Logistics and in Human Resources) in the system.
Material Master: Material master comprises if all the basic data of the material for each department. The data covers all the relevant information required for the transactional flow e.g. sales, Planning, Production, Quality, Purchasing, Costing etc. Material master covers all the descriptive and control data and the flow of information depends on fields maintained within it. The integration of all material data in a single database object eliminates redundant data storage. Material Masters are created once and can be changed or extended whenever required
Bill of Materials: Bill of Materials or commonly called BOM is a formally structured list of components that make up a product or assembly. The list contains the material number of the component together with the quantity and unit of measure. BOMs are used in their different forms in various situations where a finished product is assembled from several component parts or materials. Resources: Resources are production facilities and persons involved in a production process that have capacities. They are subdivided into categories to specify their suitability for certain purposes or their use in certain processes
Product Versions: A production version determines which alternative BOM is used together with which task list/master recipe to produce a material or create a master production schedule. For one material, we can have several production versions for various validity periods and lot-size ranges. The production version determines the following:
    • The BOM alternative for a BOM explosion.
    • The task list (master recipe) and any alternate, as needed.
    • Lot-size restrictions and validity parameters.
Master Recipes: A master recipe defines the following data that is required for the production of materials without relating to a particular order: processing steps, resources, material components, and control information for the process control level. Master Recipe enables to plan the production of materials (products). Therefore, Master Recipe is used as a template for process orders and run schedules as well as a basis for product costing. In a Recipe
    • The Phases (work steps) to be carried out during production.
    • The activities to be performed in the operations as a basis for determining dates, capacity requirements and costs.
    • The use of materials during production.
    • The use of resource.

  • Can we use same data definition with multiple concurrent programs?

    Hi,
    My requirement is as below:
I have two concurrent programs (say CP1 and CP2), both concurrent programs need to use same data definition (the same data template xml file) and same RTF layout template. However when registering data definition in the E-Biz, the data definition code must match concurrent program, hence I have to create two definitions (for the same data template xml file) and because layout template is attached with data definition I have to duplicate the layout definition also.
In summary, i have to create two (duplicate) Data Definition and Layout Template for the same dataTemplate.xml and Layout.rtf files. Is there any way to avoid this duplication?
The only issue with duplication is any change in xml or rtf needs to be updated in all the four definitions (2 data definitions and 2 layout definitions).
    Thanks
