Does Java SDK V1.4.2 Support Unicode 4.0

Hi all:
I want to develop a java application to handle some difficult traditional Chinese in WinXP. The Chinese word may contains more than 20000 difficult words. And this maybe use Unicode 4.0. I know WinXP support Unicode 4.0. Due to some reason, I have to finish the AP with JDK1.4.2. Does anyone know JSDK1.4.2 support Unicode 4.0? ThankX in advance....

No it does not: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/lang/Character.html
Java 5 does: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/lang/Character.html

  • Does Java 1.3.1.  supports XML?

    Hi,
    I have Java 1.3.1 and i do not want to upgarde to a newer version.
    Does Java 1.3.1. supports XML?
    Can i use DOM or SAX?
    Can i: "import javax.xml.parsers.*;" ?
    If not - what extnetion package do i need so i will be able to work with xmls?
    Thanks in Advance

    Not that it would have been hard for you to find out yourself, but yes, you will need an extension package. Check out http://java.sun.com/xml and grab the Java XML Pack. With that, DOM and SAX can be used. You'll also find lots of other interesting stuff around there.

  • Latest supported version of the Java SDK for XI R3.1

    Hi all,
                Does anyone have any ideas or views on the latest supported version of the Java SDK for 3.1 on windows ?
    We are using Tomcat which ships with SDK version 1.5.0_12, I know that updating this to a later version can result in a considerable performance boost for Infoview and its supported applications especially webintelligence.

    Hi Bashir, That's interesting  you're using a relatively up to date version of the java SDK. Business Objects documentation states that versions up to 1.5.0_xx are supported. Did you notice any improvements in performance of the system by using the later version 1.6.0_17 ?. There are generally very significant improvements in successive updates of the SDK in term of memory management, reliability and other general bug fixes, so it's something that we will take into consideration.

  • Does Java support Digital UNIX?

    Is there a port of the Java SDK to Digital UNIX 4.0? I haven't been able to find the binaries anywhere on Sun's site. Does Sun's 'platform independant' offering only support Solaris, Linux, and Windows??

    Yes, that's correct. But Sun is not the only one writing SDKs. There are Java implementations for several other systems made by other organizations (such as IBM). And 30 seconds with http://www.google.com led me to this link:

  • Webi document prompts order from Java SDK does not refresh correctly?

    Hi
    I'm developping a standalone command-line Java program which will schedule a report with custom prompt values.
    I am having a problem with Webi prompts ordering acquired from the SDK.
    We are running BO XI R2 SP4 under Windows on Tomcat servers.
    Here is the problem:
    I have a Webi report called "Articles Racines" in a "Tests SDK" directory.
    This report uses two prompts named "Type Article :" and "Code Marque :" (in this order).
    Java SDK (code below) returns the right prompts in the right order.
    Now, in Infoview, I modify the report in order to change the order of the prompts (in the "Properties" tab) making "Code Marque :" the first and "Type Article :" the second one and save the changes.
    When I run the report, prompt order has changed but the prompts retrieved from the Java SDK are still in the old order.
    I noticed that if I update the name of both prompts, the prompts retrieved from the SDK now are in the right order (with the updated names).
    Am I doing something wrong? Is it a known issue?
    Thanks in advance.
    Guillaume
    PS : I am aware that "select *" are very bad but I am still in research stage of developpment.

    Here's the reason why:
    Web Intelligence document prompting is handled properly if you open the doc using the ReportEngine Java (REBean) SDK.
    When you set prompts and schedule, you'd first open the doc using REBean, set the prompts, then copy over the prompt values you've set to the IWebi you're scheduling using the PromptsUtil.populateWebiPrompts(...,...) helper method.
    So the InfoObject IWebi doesn't know about the actual ordering of the prompts in the document itself - it's just receiving the prompts in order as it's fed from PromptsUtil.
    It's not recommended to assume that the IWebi.getPrompts() will return a non-empty collection.  The Web Intellligence document must be first opened in ReportEngine and the prompting values set using PromptsUtil to fill the collection.

    Ted Ueda

  • Does SAP.Functions support unicode?

    Hi,
    I have an ASP page using Server.CreateObject("SAP.Functions") to connect to SAP ecc 6.0. Does anyone know whether the wdtfuncs.ocx supports unicode? The result i got back from SAP shows English contents correctly but not Cyrillic character. Source code is something like this
    Set oSAP = Server.CreateObject("SAP.Functions")
    Set oConn = oSAP.Connection
    oConn.User = sUID
    oConn.Password = sPWD
    oConn.Language = "EN"
    oConn.Destination = sServer
    oConn.Client = iClient
    oConn.GroupName = sServer
    oConn.MessageServer = sMessageServer
    oConn.codepage = "4110"
    oConn.Logon 0, True
    Set oRFC = oSAP.Add(SAPFunctionModueName)
    Set oParam = oRFC.Exports(ParameterName)
    oParam.Value = ParameterValue
    Set oOut = oRFC.Tables(SAPoutputTableName)
    oRFC.Call
    The SAP .net connector works well, but in this case i have to use the .ocx file trying to avoid rewriting existing application with .net.

    Sorry, the SAP version is 710

  • JDBC-ODBC Bridge does not support Unicode UTF-16

    Hi
    I'm using Jdeveloper 10.0.3 IDE in order to develop an application for data transformation between MS Access 2003 (source) and Oracle 10g (destination). Clients use Windows XP.
    JDBC-ODBC Bridge still does not support Unicode UTF-16 which is the Charest used by MS Access 2000/2003.
    Note that when I changed locale in regional setting, destination Connection to Ora10g failed to open a connection, it works only with English locale, so I can't change my locale information.
    How can I read Unicode from source DB?
    Any help would be appreciated. I look forward to see your response.
    Thanks,

    i also heared that JDBC-ODBC Bridge still does not support Unicode UTF-16,
    but i guess this is not in my case.That's the key in fact. JDBC-ODBC Bridge does not support UTF-16, which is the charset used by MS Access 2000/2003.
    or do i need to use a third party driver for jdbc odbc bridge?Free library at http://jackcess.sourceforge.net/

  • Does Java Access Bridge supports Java 6?

    Does Java Access Bridge support Java 6?
    Also where can I find 2.0.4 (Beta), the following link does not work -
    http://java.sun.com/developer/earlyAccess/accessbridge/
    thanks,
    sachin.

    Our company develops an applet that supports Jaws via the Java Access Bridge v.2.01. We've had no problems with JRE 1.6. However, Jaws does not read the accessible names when I tried JRE 1.7. It behaves as if the access bridge is broken. I reverted back to JRE 1.6.0_20 and it works fine again. I reported this to Freedom Scientific but they just said, "you will need to contact the Sun support team to determine the latest version of the JRE recognized by the Accessibility Bridge." They don't seem too concerned that their product may not work for many people in the near future.

  • Does Java 6 support SSLIOP in Java orb?

    I have Java orb clients connect to server in TAO orb CORBA. Now I want to change the java orb clients to use SSLIOP (SSL in orb) to talk to the servers written in SSLIOP.
    The question is, does Java 6 supports SSLIOP ? if yes, where are the documents and samples I can take a look to get started.
    Thanks in advance.

    I can't see any ORB enhancements at all.
    I suspect Sun is leaving SSLIIOP for the ORB and J2EE vendors.

    Hello,
    I have just search the word "widestring" in all the source files of CR VCL XI and the result is so surprise that only few widestrings are found but all of the rest is "string".
    It is so ashamed for BussinessObject that they lied us that CR supports Unicode from version 9.0.
    This is not the first time I have problem with Unicode in CR. CR does not recognize Unicode data of User Defined Function that made in Delphi then compiled into DLL file.
