Does Logic crash alot?

I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing an unreasonable amount of random crashes in Logic. ( just want to make it clear before I start this little rant that I really do love Logic, it is my "instrument" and that is why I am so upset about this. )
I am running Logic 7.1.1 on a G5 Dual 2.0/ 2.5 GB and 10.4.3. I usually rewire Reason and sometimes Ableton Live. Recently, the program has been crashing, on average, once every 3 hours or so. In a typical session it will usually crash 2 or 3 times but I have had up to 5 crashes in a day. There is no one cause for it, it just happens whenever. One time I soloed something and it crashed. One time I changed some automation, one time I just changed windows.
I have been using Logic on a mac of some kind or another since version 4 and I have NEVER had it crash like this. In fact, Logic 5 on my dual 867 G4 was probably the most stable and reliable setup I've ever had. I understand from some other forums that there have been some stability issues with Logic, but this is INSANE. I'm sorry but I just cannot rely on this program at all anymore. I'm really seriously about to look at switching to DP or SX ( I dont even want to bring up all the pro features they have that Logic doesn't). On the other hand, I don't want to make the swithch because I have invested nearly $2000 in Logic since I bought 4, and I know it so well. Unfortunately, at this point in my career, 5 crashes a day is just unacceptable and unprofessional.
Is there something wrong with my computer that is causing this to happen or is this just they way Logic is now?

no this is not how logic is now - it is very stable indeed. so there should not be any need for you to jump ships because that might sink you as well.
it may well be you third party plug-in that is causing the crashes, but to begin with check out the trouble shooting guide and start with your basic troubleshooting measures - repair permissions, repair disk, trash preferences.
you could try creating a new user on your system and using logic from there to ascertain whether the problem lies with logic (plug-ins etc) or with your system. try running from built-in audio for a while to see whether it might be your audio driver.
also, check console, for logic's crash log and look for the crashed thread. copy and paste it (just the crashed thread not the whole thing) on this forum, we can help you look for clues as to what is causing the crash.
provided your system is running ok you'd be hard pressed to get logic to crash more than a couple of times a month. though there ARE certain circumstances that raise the danger of logic crashing.
