Does notifyAll() wake up all the threads?

If I got 4 threads which are in waiting status (wait()) .Does notifyAll() really wake up all the threads?
Can anyone tell me more about "object lock"?

Thanks for that. Much more constructive than the last comment. It's only the restriction code I can't recall, not the access passcode. So I can currently access the device, just not age restricted content. Does that's make a difference? I also wondered if anyone knew how many attempts you get to try to get it right. Now tried 21 times and so far nothing bad has happened but I am concerned I'll eventually be completely locked out of the device. That doesn't seem in the spirit of things though. Surely it's foreseeable that a child could repeatedly try to guess the code so I can't see that it would be right to lock the device down completely in that circumstance, particularly if the access code is being typed in correctly every time.

System.exit() didn't kill all the threads it spawned in Linux

Facing problem while doing System.exit(0);
Even though it is happening inconsistently but this how it is-------.
The main application has spawned some threads.
On receiving a particular event it interrupts all the threads and calls system.exit(0).
Each thread after catching interrupted exception sends a interrupt to itself.
What I'm observing is, once in a while the spwned threads are still hanging even though the application has exited.
I'm having
1) java version "1.4.2_04" and
2) Linux 2.4.21-27.EL

After writing Java code for 6 or 7 years, then having a years break and writing C++
and D code. I came back to Java and am having the same problem as you.
The cause of my problem was that I was writing the wrong code lol I was
trying to use an ActionEvent instead of a WindowEvent ie:

PS. I have also noticed that MPlayer does the same thing when you close it down.

I know what your'e going through, Gary.   OSX 10.6.7 is an absolute disaster.   Since I upgraded, I've had problems in FCP, Logic, Garageband, even issue dealing with peripheral hardware like external monitors.
Before 10.6.7 my system was running fine.
I've brought this up with Apple repeatedly.   They smile and shrug.   They've been helpful resolving the issues, but none of them has been easy to solve. I have spent days, dealing back and forth with tech support, sending logs, etc., before solutions have been found.
I wish I could give you an answer to your question.   My only guess is that Apple has totally dropped the ball on this one.   In the future they should provide a disclaimer when they offer an upgrade. Something like:   "Caution: all of your software may not function after this upgrade. But go ahead, you'll feel cool that your OS is the latest thing."
As someone who has been with Apple for close to 25 years, I'm disturbed by what appears to be an increasing sloppiness in their work.   This is especially disturbing when you depend upon their system to make your living.

If you don't see any messages, not have anti-malware running or the Firewall on, try installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo
It's ok to do this even though you are already running v10.6.8 (according to your profile).
Restart your Mac after the combo in installed, try the App Store.
Also... if you have an app called Little Snitch installed, that can prevent a connection to the App Store.

You should be OK with that much, however, besides the basic needs of the OS, it will depend on how many and which applications are open and how memory intensive they are. Someone might easily get away with 4GB and someone else might have trouble with 16GB.

IChat AV 4.0 issues, Error 8 - read through all the threads...Help needed

SO searched all the threads on Error 8 - in the past my friends and I have always either found the answer or updated the SW and video chat has worked.
I am out in California using T-Mobile account at StarBucks (and other free WIFI locations) I can connect and video Chat with my home with iMac using iChat last (version) update in Tiger. Apple Extreme wireless. I have also been able to connect with Buddy 2 when at home.
Problem ( 1) I cannot connect buddy 1 (with the linksys) directly from my connection.
(Interesting side note: Home connects with Buddy 1, then in that connection I was added to the Video Chat and this worked.)
Note: (2) I cannot connect to Buddy 2 (also with a linksys) directly from my connection.
Note: (3) Buddy 1 can connect to Buddy 2
Note: (4) Buddy 2 travels to Buddy (3) home (also with a linksys) and they connect and add Buddy 1
Problem (5) they try to add me (at T-mobile StarBucks) and cannot connect.
We have systematically tried:
1) QT set to 1.5 - iChat bandwidth set to None
2) tried different ports ( 443) in iChat Prefs,
3) Opened ports on the linksys routers
4) Checked Sys prefs firewall (allow all incoming connections checked)
What should we be looking for?

Do they have Linksys devices that have a Security Page ?
If so have they set it to "Respond to Anonymous Pings" ? as iChat sends a Ping.
I would also go for the UPnP option

Sound does not work correctly all the time, on youtube.

So I have been having this issue for a while now, and I have tried everything to fix it on my own.
My issue is sometimes you-tube videos will play about 1-2 sec of sound then stop, the video will buff all the way out and I can watch it but no sound will come from it. Once it happens if I try to watch another video they will all have no sound, but if i start up itunes it will still play music, so it's not my PC.
Once I close Firefox and reopen it 80% of the time it will play sound on the same video, the other 20% of times it will play 1-2secoinds of sound again and quit playing sound, if I restart fire fox again it will play just fine. Also I do not seem to get this issue with internet explore.
Stuff I have done.
Check for updates for my video/sound cards.
Uninstalled/installed flash 3 times even downloads the Adobe Flash player uninstaller, then reinstalled flash again.
Unchecked enable hardware acceleration, in the Adobe Flash setting.
My setup
Firefox 3.6.13
Windows 7 64bit
ATI HD radeon HD 4350 video card.
I have my PC connected to my TV, sound/video is carried with a HDMI cable from my video card.

Did you check the settings for Firefox in the Volume Mixer?

Does web service support all the properties in the standalone BI console?

Currently I am using BI web service API to get the report and its parameters and so on. But I find that the object definition in the web service can't be full defined to match the properties in the console UI. For exaple, ReportDefinition object there is no description property, so I can't get the desc by the ReportDefinition object (By now I don't know how to get it). Another sample is, there is no Parameter object defined in the web service, only ParamNameValue object, so I can't get the default value for the parameter defined in the console UI.
Is there any solution for me?

It is just not working for me. I am using static stub.
After tracking the HTTP traffic, I found that the WL70 server is not issuing any
cookie. I have configured all the parameters for tracking session in the web application,
but I still don't see any cookie in the HTTP headers from the server. I also tried
to invoke the service using a browser, still no cookie seen. Is this a bug or
there is some other configuration for the server?

Are you using static or dyn client?
Also, you should use the same instance of the stub for all your invokes
(all invokes to be in the same session).
