Does oracle application server's plsql program accord with corba criterion?

You need to purchase a have a support contract to have access to that.
You can try upgrading to the latest JDK 6 an latest WLS 10.3.6, you have the chance the issue is fixed in the latest 11g release.

    Hi,
    looks like the database connection could not be established. The document contains a step-by-step description of how to ensure that the connect is working after deploying the BC as EJB. You can configure the BC tester to work with the EJB deployment to see if the model works.

  • Does Oracle Application Server (10.1.3.4.0) support JSF 1.2?

    Sorry for the double post, but I realized this was more appropriate in the OC4J forum so posted it there. Not sure how to delete this one :-(.
    I am trying to migrate from JSF 1.1 to JSF 1.2 on OC4j 10.1.3.4.0 and am running in to problems. I recently stumbled on this post:
    http://kjvarga.blogspot.com/2008/12/oc4j-1013-does-not-support-jsf-12.html
    Which reads as follows:
    I spent a very frustrating day wading through the version soup that is JavaServer Faces and trying to deploy a JSF 1.2 app on on OC4J 10.1.3 container. To save you a lot of time, OC4J DOES NOT SUPPORT JSF 1.2.
    This technical paper explains that OC4J 10.1.3 (all versions) supports Servlet 2.4, JSP 2.0 and JSF 1.1.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/oc4j/1013/whitepapers/OC4J-FOV-10131.pdf
    And this handy webpage explains that "JSF 1.2 is the latest release and it works with servlet 2.5 and jsp 2.1". So obviously it's not compatible. It also details all the versions of Java technologies that each JSF version relies upon.
    http://www.roseindia.net/jsf/jsf-versions.shtml
    Is this true? I can't use the JSF spec released in 06 on the most current version of oracle application server? Could someone please confirm/deny/shed some light?
    Thanks so much,
    Yeuker

    Found a bit more information located here:
    http://wiki.glassfish.java.net/Wiki.jsp?page=JavaServerFacesRI
    See the section entitled
    "Do I have to use a JSP 2.1/Servlet 2.5 container with the Mojarra version 1.2?" which states:
    If you're using JSPs for your view descriptions, then yes, you will need to use a JSP 2.1/Servlet 2.5 compliant container. However, if you're using another view technology, such as Facelets or JSFTemplating, you can run JSF 1.2 within a Servlet 2.4 container with out issue.
    Now here is the part that may make me look like a newb... not sure if I am "using JSP's for my view descriptions"... what does that mean anyway?
    I dont think I am not using Facelets or JSFTemplating. I'm just using standard JSF... All of my pages end in jsp and the standard faces servlet that makes all *.faces requests go through the faces controller servlet. There is really no JSP EL code in my faces pages, just standard jsf tags h:form, f:selectItems, h:inputText etc...
    So my question is... am I using JSP's for my view descriptions?

  • Install Oracle Application Server on the same machine with Oracle Database

    Hello!
    I have already have installed on my laptop the oracle Database 10g, and i want to install on the same machine Oracle Application Server; can I do that? After i look on some threads on this forum I understand that all I have to do is to change the default port 1521 of the database to antoher ..let's say 1523...how can I change the port? what files do i have to modify? Oracle Application server can work in good conditions with Oracle XE or I will have the same problem?
    My SO is Windows XP Professional SP II, all updates, 512RAM, 2Ghz-CPU
    Thanks!

    Well, you'll have some problems to run simultaneously Database and AS with 512 Mb...
    Apart from that, you don't need to start two listeners, you can use just one (the highest version) for both DBs.
    If, for any reason, you want to use two, you can change the port within LISTENER.ORA file, normally in ORACLE_HOME\network\admin.

  • Migrating from Weblogic to Oracle Application Server 10g

    Hello,
    To respond to this post you will need some basic familiarity with Weblogic.
    I am currently using Weblogic Server 8.1.
    I have an admin machine which is on its own physical hardware, and multiple managed servers. The admin server is a single point of management for all of the managed servers. Each managed server lies on it's own physical hardware and are managed remotely from the admin server.
    Does Oracle Application Server have this type of architecture?
    Lets say I have salesApp.ear and I want to deploy it across multiple physical machines, where would I administer the various physical machines from, and how would I create an instance on each machine?
    Would it be an oc4j instance or an AS instance? What is the difference?

    Forget about this!
    You need a JEE5 server to work with 11g.
    In theory you can develop application for OAS 10.1.3.1 but you must be very very careful which components you use. One new component and you are not able to run it on OAS 10.1.3.1
    If you have to run your apps on OAS 10.1.3.1 stay with JDEV 10g.

  • Stop poodle vulnerability in oracle application server

    Hello guys.
    Our Enterprise is using Oracle Application Server in front of oracle database. we using oracle wallet manager(Installed with Oracle client 10) to create self sign certificates. as you may know wallet manager in v 10 has some limitation in key size or ... (i don't know exactly the limitation and i hope you could help me on it ).
    when we want to issue a certificate at first we create a certificate request with wallet manager and then issue based on certificate in windows server CA.
    now i have some question:
    1- what are the limitation of using wallet manager in V10 to issue the self sign certificate?
    2- is there another way to create self sign certificate without wallet manager V10?(when i try the newest versions oracle application failed to open a certificate)
    3- and my most important question:
    can i stop poodle attack in oracle application? (i red somewhere that poodle attack doesn't apply in TLSV1. so i guess its better to ask my question this way:
    does oracle application server support the TLSV1? )
    i really appreciate any sort of help.
    thank you.

  • Deploying 10g 32bit forms on 64bit oracle application server

    Hi
    Can forms that are generated from forms developer on a 10g 32bit environment be deployed on a 64bit oracle application server?
    Anthony.

    Forms generated with Windows 32bit 10g run fine on Windows 64bit 10g because on Windows 64bit you have to run ApplicationServer 32 bit.
    Using Linux might be different, but I don't know.
    Using 11g You cannot run iAs 32 bit on Windows 64bit Platform and You cannot run 32bit generated Forms on iAs 64 bit.

  • Client-cert auth impl in web.xml does not work in Oracle Application Server

    Hi,
    I am new to implementing security features on the web applications.. I have developed a new web service using jdev1012 and deployed in OAS 10.1.2. Its working fine according to the business requirements, but I am in need of implementing client-cert authentication to enable the web service available to only those who have client certificate.
    My server details are:
    Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2)
    Server certificate is in place and SSL mode have been already enabled.. able to access my web service through https://<mydomain.com>/myws/TreqWS as well able to see the WSDL file through https://<mydomain.com>/myws/TreqWS?WSDL.
    I tried to include the following in my web.xml file as part of implementing CLIENT-CERT authentication.
    <security-constraint>
    <display-name>SecurityConstraint</display-name>
    <web-resource-collection>
    <web-resource-name>WSCollection</web-resource-name>

    <auth-method>CLIENT-CERT</auth-method>
    <realm-name>WSCollection</realm-name> <!-- am not sure about this realm-name and its purpose -->
    </login-config>
    It is not woking as expected, though I have restarted my oc4j container after including this content to the web.xml file. i.e, I am able to invoke the web service though my sample java client program, though I donot have client certificate/keystore.
    I believe I am missing something..Can anyone help me in this regard to implement CLIENT-CERT authentication successfully?
    Thanks,
    Ms

    <mime-type>application/msword</mime-type>
    </mime-mapping>
    to my web.xml. I even restarted the server. I still see doc and xsl in binary.
    Is there some other setting that needs to take place?
    I am using WL6.1 with fixpack 1.
    I can see the doc and excel files in the browser if I don't go through the weblogic

    Hi,
    I have successfully installed the Oracle SOA Suite using advance installation.
    But when tried to open ORACLE APPLICATION SERVER CONTROL by following the below path.
    start-> programs-> oracle-soa->ORACLE APPLICATION SERVER CONTROL, It displays a blank IE page.
    But when tried to open BPEL control or WSM control or ESB control, it takes me to the login page.
    Note: Started the SOA suite and the status of ASG component in the Start SOA page says Down.Does this affect in anyways?
    Would appreciate if anyone could throw some light on this.

    Hi All,
    I started reinstalling SOA suite and while installation, I encounter below warning.
    "A DHCP configuration was detected on this host" The installer also detected that the localhost name and network hostname differ. please resolve the networking issues by reffering the "Installing on DHCP computers" section in the installation guide."
    Note: Doing installation in the server.
    Wondering this could be the cause for displaying blank Application Server Control page.
    And here is, what it says in the installation guide.
    Note this limitation when running Oracle Application Server on DHCP computers: Oracle Application Server instances on DHCP computers cannot communicate with other instances running on other computers. For example, you cannot have OracleAS Infrastructure on one computer and a middle tier on another computer if any one of those computers uses DHCP. All the instances that need to communicate with each other need to run on the same computer. There are no limitations on clients: clients from other computers can access the instances running on the DHCP computer, as long as the client computer can resolve the DHCP computer on the network.
    The solution for this is installing loopback adapter. But the catch is, I have few webmethods running on the server. Wondering about the effects of Loop back adadpter on webmethods. Please someone throw some light.

    jude.

    <security-constraint>
    <display-name>SecurityConstraint</display-name>
    <web-resource-collection>
    <web-resource-name>WSCollection</web-resource-name>
    <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern>
    </web-resource-collection>
    <user-data-constraint>
    <transport-guarantee>CONFIDENTIAL</transport-guarantee>
    </user-data-constraint>
    </security-constraint>
    <login-config>
    <auth-method>CLIENT-CERT</auth-method>
    <realm-name>WSCollection</realm-name> <!-- am not sure about this realm-name and its purpose -->
    </login-config>
    Thanks,
    Ms

    Hello,
    You have different level of integration of SSO services in OC4J 10g (10.1.3).
    If you are using an LDAP server you can integrate that using the LDAP security provider and support SSO between applications. This is documented as part of the Identity Management Integration.
    Also in 10.1.3.0.0 you need to have at least an LDAP server (or bigger identity management solution) to do SSO.
    In 10.1.3.1.0, that should be available this summer, OC4J will have a new security service that will allow applications to be authenticated in a single sing-on fashion. (Stay tuned to the OTN forum we will publish a beta version very soon)

  • ORA-44356 when running report from Oracle Application Server 10g

    All,
    We have some reports that we developed using Reports Builder 10g. We use a few program units that run with every record that use the exec_sql package to run dynamic sql in a remote database. Everything runs fine when we test the reports in Reports Builder. After we compile the reports into the .rep format and place them on our Oracle Application Server 10g portal instance, we are running into the subject error when we try to run the report from the website. From the research that I've done, it seems that this error has to do with the use of exec_sql, but there is not too much info on the web regarding this error number. Running a trace when running the report in Reports Builder doesn't show any errors, and to further complicate things, this error only occurs on some reports...others that use the exec_sql package work fine.
    Does anyone have any ideas as to why this might be happening?
    Thanks for your help,
    Tom

    Nothing is different between the reports in the exec_sql section. The strange part is that the reports will bomb out seemingly at random, at different times, and during the execution of different program units. I was able to find a work-around using DB Links, but I'd rather not use the DB Link if I can avoid it.

  • Embedded License Resource Kit for Oracle Application Server 10g

    Hi,
    I work for a company and we are an Oracle partner. We would like to deliver our flagship product with Oracle Database and Application Server (10g) embedded.
    According to an Oracle press release back in october 2003, Embedded License Resource Kits for Oracle Database and Oracle Application Server are available through the Oracle Partner Network (http://www.oracle.com/corporate/press/2484668.html)
    I found a kit for Oracle Database through OPN but was not able to find one for Oracle Application Server 10g.
    Does such a kit still exist for Oracle Application Server, and if yes where can I download it?

    Go to MyOracleSupport/Metalink.
    Click patches and Updates on the top left bar. Download the patches.
    Each patch comes with its readme.txt. Do read it. It shows you how to install the patch. it also gives syntax with example for various scenarios of how to install it, or remove a patch either. In most of the patches, Installing a patch again does not hurt your system.
    It's a good practice to keep db inventory clean before attempting to install the patch because otherwise the patch installation will fail.
    hope that helps!

  • Developing for a Oracle Application Server with SSO

    Hello there,
    I'm developing an application (Java) that will be deployed as a partner application within an Oracle Application Server 10g at my client. This Oracle instance has a SSO already configured, and my app will use this Identity Manager (consuming the cookie). The problem is that at my company we don't have a SSO system configured, not even an Oracle Application Server, just a simple Oracle XE 10g to hold data. So I'm wondering how can I do to develop my application and test it.
    I was looking forward to install an OAS and configure an SSO to validate my implementation, but the download link provided by Oracle is broken (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/index.html). Another alternative that I thought of was to install an OC4J and configure a Java SSO to simulate the behavior of OSSO, and make my app the cookie set by it. But OC4J supports only til Servlet 2.4 and my app is using 2.5...
    And to complete, I cannot access my client's environment. I'm supposed to write a Deploying document telling him how to deploy my app and then try to access it through Internet.
    Does anyone have an idea of how can I develop and test my app in my company's environment?
    Thanks in advance,
    Bruno Krebs.

    Apache 2.0 based OHS is located in Oracle Application Server Companion CD.
