Does 'software update' also update the display drivers?

Does the iMac software update also update the graphics card drivers, or am I better off trying to install them manually?
My iMac has the Nvide 7600 GT display. I'm having a display issue with Adobe Dreamweaver 8, and I suspect it is an issue with my graphics card. I don't know how to tell if my graphics card driver s/w is up-to-date or whether I am better manually installing the driver?

If the app is a PPC program it will always run in Rosetta emulation mode on an intel mac. You can choose to run universal apps in rosetta emulation if you want, but it usually sacrifices performance (program will run slower). To check this, go into the apps folder, command click on the app and select get info. It will tell you what kind of app it is, universal or PPC. For universal apps you have an option to run in rosetta. Check that box and the next time you start that app it will run in rosetta emulation mode. Again, this will result in some performance loss for that app, and it isn't necessary to run the app. So, that being said, I don't know why you would need to do that. Maybe someone else here can answer that question.

JAnyone have an updated link to the unspported drivers for the X-Fi series?dI honestly cannot believe what I'm reading about all the people having problems in Windows 7. Having just upgraded to it and being a loyal CL customer since I've been building PCs, decided to upgrade my Audigy 2 and bought an X-Fi Gamer only to be rewarded with the inability to install the drivers, and I find out I'm not the only one and it actually seems...very common...what? Are you even serious Creative? All these posts about people not being able to use your cards with Windows 7 and you don't do a thing? Anyway, if someone has a mirror for the supposedly working unsupported drivers that would be great, every mirror I've found is outdated. If someone has them and they work, great, but I'm seriously never buying one of your products again if this is how you do customer service. When clone my snow leopard disk to make back up does it also clone the boocamp drivers

I'm trying to create a backup disk in case I lose mine and I was wondering if this backup will also save the bootcamp drivers for windows.
If not, I would apprectiate if someone tell how I could get it to work.

Cloning software like Carbon Copy Cloner clone only what's in OS X.
If there are files in OS X they will be copied, whatever they are. If in the Trash, then no.
As you know, a clone is hold option bootable by Mac's. So this is great in case your hard drive dies or you need to upgrade to a larger one.
If you want to backup your Windows Bootcamp partition, then the free Winclone (runs in OS X) to another drive (not the cloned one) will do the trick.

Did you reset your phone like this: Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.
If that didn't help I suggest having a technician examine your phone. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

I have an iPhone 5 with iOS 8.2 software.
My iPhone does not automatically switch off the display light when it is locked. Therefore, if I get an e-mail/text message/pop-up from other application, the light just stays on, which obviously drains my battery.
The problem just started yesterday, and it has been a couple of days since I updated the software, so I wouldn't think the software update is the problem.
I have tried restarting the phone (using home and lock button), but that did not work.
Something else that seems weird is that once in a while, a blue beam rolls over the screen from one side to the other. I don't know why it does this, and have no idea whether this is related to the display light issue.
I hope someone is able to help by telling me what to do in order to get my phone to act normal again.

The MacBook's hard drive lacks the necessary hardware drivers to boot the MacBook Pro even though it has a much newer OS on it; that's why simply moving it into the Pro doesn't work. Presumably you have a very old MB Pro, because only the very first MB Pro model (produced January to May 2006) was ever offered with an 80GB hard drive. Are you sure you want to move your big drive into such an old machine? The MacBook must be newer, because the first MacBook was introduced just as the first Pro model was discontinued.

I have seen this before. You need to update the apps in your app store, and once they are updated, they will work again.

IPhone told me I needed to restore and update, also said the phone did not have an IMEI number. I tried to restore from iTunes but keep getting an error message.

Ok I need help. I went to use my phone, put in my passcode, emergency dial came up, then the phone said I didn't have an imei #. I hit the back button and then I was told I needed to restore and update using iTunes. I tried several times to do this and my phone is still not working. Sounds like you might need to take it to an Apple Store but if it is an iPhone 3G it would no longer be under warranty.
Looking at the Apple Store online you can get an iPhone 3GS from $49 on AT&T if it comes to having to get a new one. Your other option is second hand.

How long does it take to get the display replaced?

I've brought my MacBook to the Apple Store and the technician confirmed that the display is defective and that it must be replaced. Although, I was told that he has no idea about when he'll receive it from Apple.

How does iCal, or Calendar, order the display of multiple events for the same time?

I can't for the life of me figure out how iCal orders the display of multiple items at the same time. Does anyone have a clue? It's not alphabetical. It's not according the the order of the calendars in the left pane. Is it just random? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

With IOS6.X (and all other 3GS users) I lost the FULL GPS function I had when I purchased my iPhone 3GS (I assume its behaviour is like an iPod touch now), I was wondering if Apple have included a fix with this update?

I had two users that were unable to get email from Microsoft Exchange 2003 on their iPhone 3GS after upgrading to iOS 4. One other user, however, had no problems after the upgrade. The only difference was that the user with his email functioning had minimal messages in his Inbox.
So for the two other users, I archived email messages to reduce their Inboxes from around 13,000 messages to below 2,500 messages. Once I did this, email started flowing through just fine. I did this to the Sent Items as well, and it worked too. I would give that a try.

Muse Update also updated Air but not to the newest

A couple of days ago I updated Muse and at the same time (orchestrated by Muse) updated Adobe Air. According to my "About" menu in Muse I now have Air 13.0.0.83. But my Glary Utilities Software Update check at boot keeps telling me that there's an update available to Air 13.0.0.111. Muse didn't ask for this, should I just go ahead and update Air again? Do I need this? I'm no software whiz and I don't want to mess with my MUSE

I've a doubt regarding release of connection in transaction handling scenarios in EJB.
Let us assume I have an EJB method associated with a transaction attribute as Requires New (i.e. the ejb method is associated with container managed transaction).
Within that method two diffreent databasess are accessed, connections are created, databases are updated but connections are not realeased.
The code goes similar to the one given below -

If releasing connections has to be handled in the bean method, then how does transaction manager execute a commit/rollback on a released connection ?
The same doubt can be extended to bean managed transaction also where transaction boundarry is demarcated using javax.transaction.UserTransaction object's begin(), commit() and rollback() methods.
It will be a real help if anyone please throw some light on this doubt.

Hi,
Your code needs to release (i.e., close) the connections it uses; this is outside the TM responsibility scope.
The commit or rollback is not a problem, because the corresponding XAResource (which is the
transaction manager's handle to your connection) can be used even after your connection
has been closed in the application code. That is the catch about XA, and it allows the whole
mechanism of connection pooling and DataSources to work properly.
