Does Soundtrack Pro 2 Supports EuCon protocol ?

I want to buy a control surface to work in STP 2, my first choice is Euphonix MC Control but only if STP2 supports the EuCon Protocol ... to get the full functionality. if i will have to use the Mackie Control Protocol with the MC . I prefer to Get Mackie Control Universal Pro for a lower price.
what do yo think ?

According to the [Euphonix website|http://www.euphonix.com/pro/post/eucon.php] it supports the Mackie controls for STP (see the boxes on the right). Logic appears to support the EuCon controls.

  • Does Premiere Pro support a "self-record" mode?

Does Premiere Pro support a "self-record" mode? It would record a new video with the source being what you are previewing, in terms of "animation" rather than in terms of the quality seen on screen. I often like to make humorous effects by dragging the time indicator back and forth, and have to resort to recording my own screen while in semi-fullscreen mode, then import that video and crop out the chrome. This obviously is not optimal and results in significant quality loss. Does Pr itself have such a feature built in?
I doubt it does, but it would be extremely useful.

Ditto what mark said. The intended purpose of the project manager is basically to do just as you said. It was a great solution for anyone that wanted to store the few usable minutes of their media and were confident in just discarding the rest. The problem is that, as Mark said, it doesn't handle the trimming of all common file types these days. That's because, in video, 'destructive' editing is always a matter of re-exporting edited versions and project manage simply cannot export every format to any format. The original files are never actually being trimmed down, you're just getting new versions to replace the old ones with. This represents another drawback in the form of generational loss. That's why the Project Trimmer many not be the ideal solution for you even if it is able to trim all applicable formats for you.
I tend to agree with Jim and thing that the better way to go is with Prelude. With that app, you can log what you want before hand and then capture (or, more accurately, 'Ingest') just those parts from the start. Still, it might be a good idea to save the original footage on memory card(s), hard drive(s)s (or , dare I say, tape(s_?). That way if you find out later that you didn't capture (or ingest) all of what you wanted, you can always go back and get it. Also you'll have an additional backup which could easily be re-captured from the original source if you've save the prelude project(s).

  • Does Mac Pro support SLI in Bootcamp? - Why not in MacOS?

    Hi!,
    I only have two questions:
    - Does Mac Pro support SLI in Bootcamp?
    - Why not in MacOS?
    Thanks and... cheers!

Yes, the Mac Pro does support SLI in Boot Camp, however, Apple does not currently provide drivers for SLI in Mac OS X, this might come in the future.

  • Does SRW224G4 switch supports IEC61850 Protocol?

Does SRW224G4 switch supports IEC61850 Protocol?

    Hi,
Please correct me if I am wrong, but that protocol you speak of, is more for power  control type networks.
For my own education, I was trying to check any reference to the protocol and came up virtually blank, all i could see was, like most protocols or proprietary protocols  these days, they can  run encapsulated inside a standard Ethernet frame?  Looks like the seimens folks help create this protocol  and some other manufacturers have jumped on that band wagon.
Maybe the question almost could be, does IEC6150 protocol hosts interface or run over  standard Ethernet switches.  If that answer is yes, then the SRW224G4 can support that protocol over Ethernet.  But i'm guessing seimens may have tied switch management into the protocol.
Would you be so kind and  have a word to the supplier of IEC6150 equipement and pose the question to him/her, if their equipement can run over stock standard ethernet switchs that support, jumbo frame technology,  fiber SFP's  and VLAN technology ?  I suspect you may be locked into a limited number of suppliers.

  • Does Soundtrack Pro 3.0.1 work with Mountain Lion?

    Hi there,
I purchased my iMac (Lion 2.7 GHz i5) and Logic Studio Pro 9 at the same time, everything installed fine but Soundtrack Pro did not open with Lion.
Since updated to Mountain Lion and obviously still not working.
Is there anything I can do to get this working as it might be usefull in the future?
Should I try reinstalling Soundtrack Pro or the full Logic Studio?
    Many thanks,
    Karl.

My STP seems to be working ok in Mountain lion yeah, although I've not actually used it properly yet, but it stays open at least. I think you're right about compressor aswell.
Do you know if I'll need compressor at some point after using soundtrack? Or are there other ways around it?
    Karl.
    hi Karl:
here's my follow up to your question "Do you know if I'll need compressor at some point after using soundtrack?"  i'm not sure, since i don't really know what you'll be doing on your projects w/ LogicPro.  but here's my suggestion which help you gain some insight.
go to support.apple.com/manuals/   ...find the .pdf manual for "Compressor 4" latest should be Jun2012.  might be about 6MB.  just read thru & see what features it does, & how certain steps can help you in your project.  this ought to help you foresee if you'll need Compressor or just want it, in the future.  Chap 12 seems to discussing Dolby digital professional outputs, Surrouand sound, & spatial mxing.
    good luck,

  • Does soundtrack pro 3 take advantage of 64bit processing?

Does the Soundtrack Pro 3 application run at 32bit or 64bit or can it switch between both and if so where is the setting? I am not referring to audio bit depth (16bit or 24bit) My question is in regards to the application running in 32bit mode or 64bit mode on the cpu? Logic 9 can run at either mode and there is a check box on the "get info" window of the application icon - Please correct my technical grammar if I am not phrasing the question properly... I want to know if Soundtrack Pro can take advantage of more than 4GB of ram & if there are any other known issues regarding 32bit vs 64bit that I should be aware of in STP3

JG thank you for the clarification! how do you know this? Where can I find out more information about STP3? I have a brand new imac 27" - 2.8 Intel Core i7 - 8 GB ram & STP3 is ridiculously buggy, crashes & locks up on simple tasks. The playhead is always lagging? I receive exception error crashes when I try to open most OMF files... I was hoping that the majority of my issues are due to my own user error. I just want to educate myself so I can use the software properly...

jebus! I use STP every day for TV/Film sound design projects.
it was a bit buggy at first, but since the last couple of releases it's been super stable. what version are you guys running? I use v1.0.3. it does have a few shortcomings - fade option & moving automation with clips being my main gripes, but I've been working with music apps for 15 years (ATARI days) and it's the 1st app I reach for on a audio editing/sound design project.
I also use Logic Pro for my music composition, but bring all my mixes into STP.
I just finished 2 short films using STP...

  • How many music beds does Soundtrack Pro come with?

In Apple's literature, they state that Soundtrack Pro 3 comes +"with over 6000 royalty-free Foley effects, sound effects, and music beds"+ Out of the stated 6000 are :music beds" if anyone knows. (round figure is fine) We talking hundreds or thousands?
    Thanks
    Bryan

Hundreds of music beds that begin and end - if you count a track that has a 30, 60, 3 minute version as 3 tracks.

  • Does Flash Pro support exporting projects to Android Daydream?

I've built an app for the Android platform, but I'd like to create a daydream app (Android screensaver).
Does the Publish settings support this? Any tutorials on this anywhere?
    Thanks,

    Nope.
A user can invoke Airplay from a native video player, or turn on video Mirroring, but that's about it. No way for AIR to feed content to a second display or even detect a second display AFAIK. Maybe somebody will develop an ANE someday....

  • Does quicktime pro support mpeg4

I have a video clip from a Hitachi camera that I want to edit in either Final Cut or imovie. The video is in mpeg-4 format which both do not recognize. Will buying quicktime pro help my computer to recognize it?

If the free version of QuickTime doesn't read a file format, QuickTime Pro won't either. If you only want to convert a file from one format to another, use the free MPEG Streamclip.

  • Does Logic Pro support Synth librarian function as once did emagic SoundDiver?

I once could edit the patches on my Kurz K2000 using emagic SoundDiver operating under Windows communicating via MIDI sysex commands. The Synth still works magnificently with great sounds.  Since SoundDiver was sold to Apple a decade ago, does Logic now do everything that SoundDiver did?  Thanks.

Thanks for your response.   Disappointing.  I guess SoundDiver set out to serve every bit of MIDI hardware ever sold and that would involve a huge effort just to maintain it.  Nonetheless, it's a pity Apple didn't figure out how to maintain some continuity --- a subset of what SoundDiver did.  Same old, same old.  Corporate takeover then shutdown.
What do Synth users do now?  i.e. if it's all in software, can you describe in a sentence or two how one might go about achieving the same thing now, even using the K2000 as a controller?  Thanks.

  • Clicks and Pops Soundtrack Pro does not get rid of?

How do I edit out (reduce) clicks, pops? (Soundtrack Pro's fix all does not take care of that!)
What I call clicks (noise) show up in the sample editor as a straight line. I have seen videos of somone erase, shorten these noise-spikes in other applications so one can not hear them.
Is there a tool that I can use to do this in Soundtrack Pro, (Logic Pro)? I am working on audio recordings that were recorded with reel to reels then transfered to a computer with that noise. Please help.
