Does Sun ONE AS has built-in SOAP engine

Hi,
This is Shankar from Chennai (India).
Out company provide solution on Sun ONE platform to all our clients. I have installed Apache SOAP on Sun ONE AS and implemented a smalll web service application.
I would like to know whether Sun ONE AS comes with a built-int SOAP engine? Do we need to depend on Apache SOAP?

Yes, Sun ONE Application Server 7 includes a built in SOAP runtime. Supporting both RPC and messaging styles. See the sample applications under <install_dir>/samples/webservices/.
You do not need to use Apache SOAP on top of the app server in order to support SOAP. (However, one can run most any of the 3rd party SOAP implementations on top of the Sun ONE Application Server 7 web container).
The integrated SOAP implementation in Sun ONE Application Server supports the JAX-RPC and JAXM API standards for web services.

you can use JScript (a type of server side java script) if you install Sun One ASP. it also gives you VBScript support as well

The extended log-file format includes the referrer field and user agent. You can also create your own log file format by selecting which HTTP fields you would like to log. A built-in log analysis program includes reports such as total number of requests, total bytes transfered, most commmon URLs requested, most common IP addresses making requests, performance during peak periods, cache hit rates, and estimated response time reduction. The items logged and the analysis program are completely configurable using the server manager's HTML form.

Sun Java System Web Server is a web server; it serves web pages to web clients. Sun Java System Web Proxy Server, on the other hand, is a web proxy server; it routes requests/responses between web servers and web clients.
You can configure Web Server to act as a simple reverse proxy by installing the Web Server 6.1 Reverse Proxy Plugin. This doesn't provide any of the forward proxy or caching proxy functionality found in Web Proxy Server.
Both Web Server 6.1 and Web Proxy Server 4.0 are supported on Solaris 10.

Does Sun One crashes with Win 2003 ?

When I deployed the app in a Win NT 2000 I dont have any problem but when I'm using Windows NT 2003 server, with cold fusion and Sun One Server 6.1.
I faced that images and css files are not loaded correctly.
In some desktops I can not see the app since Windows Explorer but in others I can. They have the same connection configuration.
Even I'm receiving this exception.

Does Sun One 6.1 support AIX 5.3 and 6.1

Hi,
We have a license for Sun One web server 6.1. Currently it is running on solaris 8.We want to know whether Sun One web server 6.1is compatible with AIX 5.3 and 6.1 as we are looking to migrate to AIX.
We also need to know wherher the same license(i.e. for Sun One web server 6.1) can be used for Sun Java System Web Server 7.0 or we need a new one?
Please help.

You can export the server key + cert with pk12util from the old instance into a PKCS#12 format file and then use pkcs12util to import them to the new instance from that file. Run pkcs12util without any options for usage info.
If you have additional questions about it, start a new thread at the web server forum (see link in the response above by cvr-786) so the relevant people can see it. Do not respond to this thread.
P.S. If you found some problem with migrating away from 4.1 using the supported migration (using pk12util directly as noted above isn't really supported migration, though I believe it should probably work fine) the engineering team would certainly like to know about it. Please start a separate thread (again, in the web server forum, not here) describing the issues and/or file a bug through your support contact.

Does Sun ONE still support AIX?

Why couldn't I download iplanet 6.0 for AIX anymore? I only saw Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, and NT version from ProductTracker.

AIX is not currently supported.

Sun ONE Web Server 6.1 Search Engine

Running Sun Web Server v6.1 on Windows 2K with
ColdFusion MX 6.1. When I try to access the the search page by entering:
http://<server-instance>:port number/search
I get a ColdFusion MX error message that says:
java.lang.NullPointerException
I've searched the forum and read the online documents. Only thing I can find is a Note about:
" The Java web container must be enabled for search to be enabled."
But it doesn't describe how to do this anywhere or what exactly this means. Does anyone know what/how this is suppose to work?

This really sounds more like a conflict between the CF MX and the search app.
Have you tried running search with ColdFusion removed?
The search engine is enabled by default, just without any collections setup.
Try removing Coldfusion and see what you get first before going down any other paths.

Java sun one commmunity edition

Hi-
I am looking for a cheap windows IDE that has GUI and
database capability. Sun one seems to contain these things as I read
through the features. One IDE I played with a little (years ago) was
Delphi. Does sun one community edition come with a toolbar for
draging and dropping pre-built items like a database grid, check boxes,
radio buttons, combo boxes, push buttons etc.?? Does it come with
predefined events like form open & close or for database before post, on delete,
after post etc. I know that is lots to ask for something that is free which
brings me to a final question. If I use this tool and profit from using it am
I violating a license agreement? I have 2 semesters C++ programming at
college and cant find a cheap tool in C++ for windows (widely used).
Borland and Microsoft are both expensive for C++ GUI.

SUN ONE Studio : How do I develop CMP2.0 from scratch

I am trying to develop a CMP 2.0 bean from scratch i.e I do not want EJB Builder to construct CMP bean based on an existing table. Can somebody tell me, once I have specified the persistent fields etc, where and how do I define the mappings in Forte and does Sun ONE appserver generate the table automatically?

It sounds like ultimately the answer is: you have to store some state representing whether there is an appointment on that day, and you have to set the color of the button to indicate that state.

Sun ONE MQ disk sync

Does Sun ONE MQ support disk sync option? For instance, each disk write blocks until all changes to a file are written to disk for transaction or persistence processing. I can not find any where this issue is addressed in Sun ONE MQ manual.

Thanks for reporting this problem. According to http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-7753/gcblj?l=en&a=view the -p option seems to be deprecated for Sun One MQ 4.0 - and 4.1 then seems to have removed that option.
As you can see at http://src.opensolaris.org/source/xref/ohac/ohacds/usr/src/cmd/ha-services/s1mq/s1mq.c#748 the agent does invoke imqcmd with -p within the stop method unconditioned.
I filled CR 6763897 for this problem. If you have a support contract, you could open a Case and refer to that CR.
If you don't have a support contract, you could download the agent source, modify it and build it yourself, like documented at

Sun One Web Server 6.1 SP4 crashes when filters are built with CC ver. 5.6

Hi All
We are using NSAPI interfaces to develop the filter for Sun ONE 6.1 SP4 Web Server. Filter was working perfectly fine when it was built using Sun WorkShop 6.0, CC Compiler ver 5.2.
After we upgarded to Sun WorkShop 9.0, CC Compiler ver. 5.6, it no longer works. The web server crashes with Core. Please see the snippet below. There was however no change of code required for the upgrade.
Please let me know if some specific compiler/linker flags has to be used for building filters with CC Compiler ver. 5.6.

I could trace down the problem to the fact that if I don't use the map file (which is passed to the linker using -M mapfile), the plugin works perfectly fine. Further to this if I comment out the local part of the mapfile, it starts working.

Is there is any specific linker flag that I have to pass along with -M mapfile with the sun studio 9. What are possibe consequencies if I go ahead with this workaround of commenting out the local directive.

Once it has been erased it can not be retrieved, and there is no built-in method to disable the options to stop somebody from clearing the history.
An alternative approach is to use a third-party application that keeps its own log of sites visited, such as the free [http://www1.k9webprotection.com/ K9 Web Protection] which can also be used to block categories of sites of your choosing.

if it's a message coming from your yahoo account, it means that your account has been compromised, not your phone itself. i would suggest changing the password for your email account
